    This is almost the cannabis education I want. I wish there was a program that taught the history from the Neolithic cave paintings in Japan, to the hemp goddess Magu, to how cannabis moved around the globe and finally gather the stories of how cannabis became so American (she's very intertwined with our history as a nation). Like, I'd love to take a course in cannabis film-cannabis art-cannabis literature.

    A lot of the Columbia, Panama, and Jamaican we saw in the mid to late 70’s was actually from St. Vincent… not all, but a good amount was grown and from this Caribbean island. The smugglers we picked up weed from in Ft. Lauderdale would rename their haul to whatever they thought would sell faster. That said, we also had great heirloom cultivars from those three countries.

    • @timturk1899
      @timturk1899 Год назад +8

      We used to get great Jamaican bud, at least from when I started smoking, in 85', until about 88', in Central New York State via NYC.
      Different Jamaican, but always a similar look/smell/texture. I'd get so high I'd have to constantly remind myself to "Walk normal", when walking down the sidewalk, thinking everyone may be watching me, lol, while knowing no one was...? Laugh more, forgetting, then thinking the same thing. "This shit must be laced..?", But never was. Just super heady!
      Hardest brick I ever saw was some Black Jamaican. Any seeds were crushed, even. Couldn't find one good one. That was the trippiest weed I've ever smoked! Actual hallucinations, tracers, things slightly expanding then contracting, like a small mushroom dose!
      By late 88' we started getting Mexican brick mids regularly, and I never saw any Jamaican ganja again..?
      Forgive my rambling, please. Can't help it when Jamaican is mentioned. Great info on mid - late 70's St Vincent grows. Never knew about that..?!! Thanks!👍💯

      Great points….. modern strains being sold everywhere are soo artificial feeling. Not organic. Not healing to the soul. You have to really work for homeostasis in your system. The “feel” aspects have been mostly lost and it severely shows in current dispensary level products. Also I believe in growing with real sun light and no artificial fertilizers or low quality soils. It all comes together to make or break a psychoactive experience. Also heirloom and landrace genetics need to be restocked and restored to the norm. The last good cannabis I felt, was 2008-2009. Ever since then it was completely different and sometimes awful and agonizing

Yea it is just plain green looking weed. But the smell and potency is out of this world. It makes modern genetics seem extremely watered down in potency. It's confusing. They say weed got stronger the more modern it got. Thats bullshit. Think flowering times just shortened and more meat on the bone. I do not think modern genetics are more potent at all.
