  • Cannabis is not the ‘gateway’ psychedelic. It is also disrespectful to call it weed. The right cannabis in the right context is one of the most powerful psychedelic medicines on the planet. This podcast covers everything you might want to know about how to cultivate it, how to utilize it for maximum benefit, what to stack it with (and what NOT to stack it with) and how to connect with the spirit of the plant. Cannabis is legal in 19 states and readily available nationwide, so it’s high time to cultivate a beautiful relationship with her beyond the ‘anxiety’, ‘munchies’, or ‘sleepiness’, that are side effects of what she is really trying to do. Ryan Sprague is a master cultivator and experientialist with this plant, and this conversation was as potent as some of his strains.

I did this same thing YEARS ago. I had panic attacks in my late teens. Weed would make it worse. I decided one day to smoke my self uncomfortable and stare at myself in the mirror as the panic set in and I started worrying more, I called for more. I wanted all the panic. It immediately went away and I started to feel amazing. That was a life changing moment realizing how my anxiety and panic attacks were trying to control me

The absolute craziest feeling realization ive had while going through a psychedelic experience, was the felt realization that the world outside and the world inside aren't two separate worlds. That outside and inside mind are seamlessly connected and part of each other. I was like "oh, its all just one thing"

    • @iamjoy888
      @iamjoy888 Год назад +51

The same thing. I saw it crystal clear in my psychedelic experience that occurred back in 2016. That experience healed me a lot, as an empath + highly sensitive person + having trauma + having big imagination, it's been hellish for me since a very early age. Long story short: everything has been much better for me after my trip, still had really intense lows, but handled them well. But now with war in my country, Ukraine, all of my patterns came back, I'm traumatized much more than ever and have no access to plant medicine when I need it the most. Hopefully, they will legalize cannabis as a medicine here, as PTSD is now a terrible new "norm". I think all of plant-medicines should be legal and people have to be taught to use them mindfully.
Now my heart is broken, it hurts, the war is not over yet, I cannot go home and I've seen dirty messy ignorance that popped up here and there. Which I know though, if I haven't had that trip of mine back in 2016, I would have already gone crazy. 💔

@@Westeroni3 I agree, it reveals all that's inside. I just know it does help to get out of your mind's circles. When I was in my experience, I saw my mind - it was such a teeny tiny piece of what personality is, and personality was a teeny tiny peace of what essence is. I thought I'd never be caught up in mind again. I was living more on my heart's level after that, but now my heart is broken. And which is even worse, it feels like all of my victim's patterns of thinking are back.

The thing that's happening now is smth that brings to the surface the worst things, both from the outside and inside. I just hope it's gonna be light in the end of this tunnel eventually 👁👁👁 meanwhile, I'm just living it all the way it is.

I did not get cannabis for a very long time. Had a bad trip on it with the age of 19. After that I could not smoke any for the next 12 years, because I got so terribly paranoid with it. 12 years later, I realized, that the plant was telling me to deal with the paranoia which eventually sorted out a lot of confusing thoughts I had about myself and others. Thanks to cannabis I learned to trust in my own thoughts and my intiuation and also to set clear boundries for my social life. I also learned that the world is a darker place than I thought and that you are not supposed to get along with everybody. I believe it is important to accept this uncomfortable truth, as I figured out that hiding from this fact is like going through the world with blindfolders.. no wonder that I lived life in constant state of fear and anxiety.
So whatever cannabis is, it is at least an eye-opener / trauma-solver.

I really haven't enjoyed being alone all by myself and being in the moment a long time... I started spending more time with myself being high and also occasionally online with friends.
Than I realized how crazy awesome my life is and that I am ready to start taking responsibility and also now to invite other people (especially a girl) into my life...well..thats how I solved my social anxiety with weed :P its still a progress though ;)

Having had a couple nightmare experiences with cannabis, including one that was and probably will be the scariest, most difficult event in my life, I realized that weed causes my mind to “split” into positive and negative sides. One brings up all the negative things and possibilities while the other tries to argue. I realize this is what’s going on normally in the background, and I’m learning to prevent that split, essentially making myself one person who can enjoy the experience, a huge help with my social anxiety

I have become aware of the fact that as we grow spiritually and our brain is re-wired synaptically with meditation and stillness that the paranoia , that cannabis once gave me, has fallen away completely and all that is left is a higher innerstanding and a deeper connection to my higher self and the divine! I’m going into my junior year of high school and when I was first introduced to cannabis was my sophomore year. For me it started off as something that I did just for fun and as a recreational thing but then when I started buying my own and smoking alone at home it was a completely different experience for me. It started to become a more meaningful experience and it started with it helping me have so much self love for myself and to be so grateful for the things I have. If continued to help me heal and to learn to love myself. Couple months later into the year, I went though a horrible breakup that I thought I wasn’t gonna heal from and it just left me broken. The next day I had considered using cannabis but didn’t think I should have because I felt that then it would become something I was gonna depend on and become a depressant. I decided that if I was going to smoke that I was only going to do it to have fun and try and get my mind off the breakup. Once the cannabis started to kick in, I started to become filled with so much self love again and I started to realize that maybe I could heal and that I just needed to accept that I wasn’t in the wrong and that I needed to be the bigger person and move on. The healing process was so amazing and it started to transition into a spiritual experience when I started to meditate and do things to raise my vibrations while high. It’s helped me to see that there’s so much more to life and to live in the now rather then stress about the future or past. It’s helped me realize that we aren’t our bodies and to have a deeper understanding of who I am as a person and how to grow spiritually. I’m now going into my junior year and currently use cannabis for the spiritual side it has and have the highest respect for it and am truly grateful for the experiences it’s given me. There are days where I do use it too for just recreational purposes since I’m home with a boring family for summer break. Overall, You should have the highest respect for this beautiful plant because the experiences it can bring you can be beautiful.

This is crazy to watch because it’s very close to the way I figured out how to break my cannabis anxiety. Was a daily smoker for years, then in my early/mid 20s anxiety set in. Bad. 50% of the time I’d smoke I’d have some level of anxiety, sometimes a full blown attack. Then one time during a panic attack I realized “on some level I wanted this” and it brought me out of it and quite quickly. From then on, whenever the anxiety came I would just tell myself again “on some level I wanted this” really feeling those words and the truth behind them. Hasn’t failed me yet, and it’s enriched the overall experience in a big way. The other game changer for me is to use strains that have at least some cbd in them, or blend it with a cbd strain (say 80/20ish of flower to cbd flower). It really helps smooth out the rough edges. Thanks for the great content

Did a 7 day cannabis cleanse, then reintroduced on 12/02/2022 and had a two week explosion of revelations, insights, and pure inspiration on a level I can only describe as life changing. After years of heart numbness, I can now face my traumas and bad experiences more clearly and positively that was like a fire hydrant of emotions. The clincher for me was when this first happened, and unbeknownst to my wife, she said for the first time in our relationship that “you look different” but wasn’t certain how(?). I’m so grateful for God’s medicine for spiritual, mental, and physical healing.

I do that too and have been doing from the beggining. that's what I love about my little mary. It's fun ocasionally to just be a legume and watch comedies, but what literally tickles my brain is the profound intuitions you can have in your emotions + thought patterns. Though I rarely hear people use it in this way. I swear, for me what captivated me about its effects is that besides you being chiller and it cancelling some of the worries bla bla, it seems in my observation that it also enchances CERTAIN (have no idea what) mind capacities. When I started smoking, I drew only as a child. started drawing and in 1 month maximum I did this work of art that for some newb it seemed impossible. But it wasn't impossible, I did it lol. Also used it some times to plan certain things or to watch videos on youtube and learn science or whatever. I swear I feel like my brain switched from regular gas to kerosen. Even though I get tired a lot faster and the energy spent in the thinking process are much larger, the results are also so much more profound and in-depth.

@@RaduP3 I feel you in this experience. Cannabis has certainly demonstrated (to me) its ability to bring upon an experience of complete abandon and of falling into the depth of the present moment.
It's as if it condenses energy inside of us to allow our focus to be concentrated at a higher volume on a specific task. Potentially how you were able to extract so much creative power out of yourself. It might've allowed you to access a natural form of expression you might've not given yourself permission to fall into before.
One recurring experience I have with Cannabis is crafting better ways to love and honor myself, and as a result of that I end up in similar situations where I allow myself to completely dedicate the energy I have on a specific area of life I'm excited about.
I have noticed that it's a challenging wave to surf at times because such intensity brings me to burn through my energy reserves quite fast. I have learned to stay mindful of how much energy I need to trade in order to feed those intense bouts of dedication. Sobriety allows me to execute on a calmer yet smoother level a lot of times, I have found.

We are opening the pandoras box of increased access to these evolutionary tools, widespread access...and the methods of utilizing the tools productively when cultural traditions are missing, is still in development. The new methodology and forging of a new set of traditions is in danger of being sequestered by corporate actors. Thank you for bringing this concept to a wider audience, outside of the ethnobotanical community. There is so much more to be developed beyond the "set and settings" possibilities. Through meditation, you can access these experiences and learn to control your mind, to not be bothered or irritated on the daily, to be greater. Making these skills, is like going to the gym. The part about weed showing you what's already inside you is so true. When I first started smoking it, Holy christ the anxiety gave me full on panic attacks. I was in a scary, toxic relationship too, so it brought all that to the forefront. I thought it was the weed. Now that I'm out of that situation and away from the particular person, weed just brings out the empathetic side in me. The side that sees how most arguments and squabbles are a waste of time, and that we should just be kind to each other.

    • @EQOAnostalgia

Do you believe in Christ? If not why use His Holy name to swear? Do you use Allah to swear? Krishna? Think about it. . . why do they constantly use His name in vain in every Hellywood movie you ever seen?
Best thing you can do is ditch the dope, i smoked it for over 20 years. I STILL fall back into it now and then, and every time it ends the same. With depersonalization and panic attacks.
Seek the Lord, put His Spirit into the void in your life, because you're SELF MEDICATING out of a need, a need most people do not understand and do not want to understand. We were MADE to worship our creator. If we do not do that, we find anything else to fill that void.
