Well done Simon and Derek! I really love the way Simon broke this down. Then at the end when we talked about there's more than one way to the end goal, up to the cultivator themselves to choose the platform of fertilizer. Everyone knows which of the three types they talked about that I run with but it's good information and education for us to talk about every different system. GRATITUDE

As far as I'm concerned organic is the only way to grow. You can even use the weeds in your yard and garden to make fermented plant juices. They help return all the minerals and nutrients back to the soil plus add biodiversity to the soil. Another good option are compost teas to add extra biology to your soil as well as plant available nutrients.

. As long as you have tried all the other options before you typed a comment like this, I can respect your choice. If you've just said this for shitz and grins and you've never tried the other options then you need to be mocked mercilessly. If you were an experienced grower and were presented with certain conditions you had to grow under I promise you would not be so quick to make a statement so bold. But that comes usually with a lack of experience and knowledge and being a card-carrying member of the dunning-kruger club. Keep on keeping on and definitely keep on growing.

I get really good outdoor soil results by preparing early. I go fishing and catch a shit load of carp, chop into pieces and store in a freezer. I have a farm so there is "aged" chicken, sheep, horse, and cow manure available and "dry" biomass. A large load of all this is mixed together along with the carp and left over winter. Winter in Australia is not that cold so it breaks down well. This is placed into a "lined" in ground hole around the side, not bottom for drainage and planted into in spring. For supplement feeding I use a Digested liquid of carp and seaweed. In Australia they are "charlie carp" and "seasol" And all this will get you a healthy plant 3 metres by 4metres and 4 to 6 kilos depending on species.

FPJ is great. All the minerals and nutrients your plant of choice needs to grow will be in the roots of whatever plant you juice. Also your plant can pretty much use all the nutrients in organic or living soil. Adding extra will help out a lot. You will get some big flowers that are pretty and strong.

I am primarily organic with all my garden including my cannabis. I keep synthetics on hand for different situations such as tweaking later in the grow cycle if a nutrient is needed or to break down a straw bale for planting or some other nefarious reason. The secret for great plants is of course great soil that has the natural micro stuff happening. I always add bioactive mulch made with comfrey, worm castings, humix and a little Dr earth stirred up and allowed to partially break down the comfrey prior to topping.

Maybe your experience has shown you that not getting a white ash in the end has to do with flushing, but I tend to find it usually has to do with poor or improper drying or curing. The chlorophyll not being allowed or able to completely break down and dissipate. Anyway this is just my opinion and it wouldn't be the first time I have been incorrect. LOL I just know that in testing I have done both flushing for two weeks as well as no flush all the way up to the end and have not seen the same results that you say you get. Again though there are many different nutrient manufacturers so could that possibly be the issue?

I use Blue Planet Nutrients Farmers Pride Organic blend. Just about every grower on YT who were popular, spent they're own money on BPN. No advertising. Incredible prices. Then some of these popular channels became sponsored by Flora Flex, dry mineral salt nutes. Flora Flex have some cool gadgets for growing, but I already found the perfect nutrients for me, for now.
All those channels that switched from BPN, don't seem to be available on YT anymore..? I was amazed that they loved it so much, that they'd pay full price. Great deal! Great ingredients!
I'm going to use something similar to Ocean Forest soil, but good for the whole grow with just water. I'm going to mix about 11 gallons of the mix, along with around 16 gallons of a Pro Mix BX type of soil.
I'll add 2-3 gallons of Worm Castings, a few gallons of Bio Char, along with 4-5 gallons of Perlite, maybe a few gallons of Coco Coir croutons. They really attract roots into them.👍💯✌️

Not everyone has the time to wait for months. Even though i support organic growing and making your own compost, by the time you wait for your compost you could already veg a plant and make it ready for flowering, you would only have to spend some money on nutes.
If you live in an apartment it's difficult to find a place to make your own fertilizers. And the smell is too strong. Especially if you live where it's illegal, you don't want to attract attention by the neighbors.
If you grow in your own soil and not adding any more nutes, of course you have to use very big pots, because supersoils or living soils don't work properly in small pots. And very big pots indoors in your home are not practical, too heavy, too much water, too messy, and too big plants.
I think making your own soil is the best choice, but only if you had a farm, land or a field. Nice weather at least half the year, and plenty of time. And of course, a stash of nice medicine you can buy, or saved from last grow. If you're in a hurry, ain't nobody got time to make a soil :)
And it's easier for new growers to follow a simple easy schedule with nutes. When building a soil, it's difficult for someone who never grew plants and knows nothing about botany, agriculture, gardening etc.
Sorry Sir, i respect your opinion and i would love to grow outdoors naturally but for me it's impossible right now, so i have to do as organic as i can with Biobizz bottled nutes.

True, however, in terms of growing and maintaining 'living soil', it has far more stability in terms of chelated nutrients primarily driven by the symbiotic relationship with biology (mashkiki)...you don't get that in flushed system. I predict as our understanding and context of terpenes, enzymes, and exudates grow, the more depth of function(s) will appear, like Crop steering perhaps.

If an Organic ingredient has no salt in it, or even any, it's nothing like use mineral salts that have ruined our Soil life in most areas. Much less Micronutrients from Mineral Salts has made our food much less nutrient dense.
A Carrot from 50 years ago? It requires 50 Carrots nowadays to get the same amount of Beta Carotene from that one Carrot 50 years ago.
Our modern day, mineral salt nutrients used by most farmers have destroyed our food and soils.
Not that Manures and other natural ingredients don't cause damage, as well as getting into the grounds water supply, but we've learned much from The Aztecs, and hopefully we can use these procedures to enrich and bring plenty of life back into the soil.👍💯✌️

If you want to do organic, you should amend the soil the year before planting. It gives the nutrients time to break down into a usable form for the plant. Technically, there is no benefits over one versus the other one ( synthetic) except for synthetic products are more easily available for the plant, but will accumulate salts in the soil so rotation is important. It's a myth that organic makes better taste. Just no scientific evidence of this.
