Thanks 4 everything you guys have done and are continuing to do for all the forgotten practices and all the new and upcomming practices as well, that we all need to embrace.
@@ChadnRanda A little honey or molasses won't hurt, and could be beneficial for extending a tea past 24 hours brew time. Don’t feed the microbes the desert when they are busy digesting the main course. Use molasses and sugars in a homemade compost tea recipe , but not boogie brew, we already have the right amount in there.
Prop 64 ruined the cannabis culture and industry in California. Only hope would be to repeal and replace it with something better. I do not support corporate cannabis. Find a solid home grower and support them.
I used to own Bad Bunny Nutrients, essentially I commercialized rabbit manure into grow stores. I was able to hit 16 stores in 4 states, also turned down Tractor supply as I couldn’t meet their demand. However, I took my business as far as I could w/out bringing in an investor. Also, my gf at the time, we spilt up & I walked away from everything. But I want y’all to know, that rabbit manure is also non burning fertilizer. It’s also great to brew a tea. The google npk of rabbit manure is false, as different feeding will change the npk. Cheers!!
I raised Rabbits for FFA and you are right about it being the best. We have a one acre garden that has been getting it dumped into it for 30+ years and our results are unsurpassed.
All I use , I have wild rabbits in my back yard , I go poo collecting every morning and evening, rabbit poo makes an awesome tea, mix n a lil fish poo u good to go
I try to watch this video and this guy just goes on and on and on about one thing instead of talking about what I don't even know what he's talking about no more he is this guy's he's a nut
These guys have no clue what they are talking about when saying chemicals. maybe have someone that understands chemistry on a high school level explain this to them
Back in the 70's My Dad started a Red Worm farm in the basement and everyone Thought he was Crazy. We Sold Red Worms in Buckets for the Garden at the Public Market in the City. Here We are today. Intense.
There is a difference science indoor vs outdoor: Indoor I can outgrow my organics tent 2 or 3 to one with hydro/salts and can adjust what they receive in minutes. "Organic" takes weeks and months to adjust unless you are introducing things that would not be encountered in nature like teas or flushes. All these stews of ingredients would never be found in nature in these combinations of components. Does that still make it organic, even if its growing outdoors?
Agreed. I grow both organic and synthetic.. I can keep pace with synthetic only if I use a much bigger pot size. So I’ve done away with the pots for my organic side and use SIP buckets and Grass Roots raised beds. They’re a lil pricey but I’ve had the same 3x6 bed going for a couple of years now. I grow both cuz I just like to garden. And grow my own medicine. But honestly I don’t notice a difference in quality either and neither can anyone else that I share with.
Not only was it a terrible sales video I could not STAND to listen to the way either one of them talked like when he said but hey Josh, just something super off probably the acting
@Ouchwitz Summer Camp LLC I DID say that Pure Blend is a natural product which is free of deadrients! Where do you hear me say that Pure Blend kills soil? My only misgiving with it is the cost and carbon footprint of a liquid product.
@@chriskimmer7324 Sorry, no "acting"... We're just trying to keep things real and tell folks honestly how they don't need to get ripped off purchasing chemicals.
@Ouchwitz Summer Camp LLC Single use plastic packaging is a crime against the planet and humanity. We must all take steps to reduce our plastic and carbon footprint. And paying mostly for water in a heavy jug (which has a huge carbon footprint from transport) is ridiculous. All the ingredients necessary to grow world class plants can easily be obtained at far cheaper cost using teas and dry top dressings in a super soil base. Master Mark, (AKA the Boogie Master), is getting up to 3 pound yield per 1K of light by using a super soil recipe, Boogie Brew tea, Nature's Pride top dressings and kelp-sugar water. Testimony from an experienced grower: "Hi josh, just wanted to give you and mark a compliment. I did the same setup I do every year and it always turns out great but inevitably there will be points where I'll have some deficiencies and have to pull some lower leaves. With your regiment on soil prep alongside tea and seaweed and Brix, I literally haven't had to pull one leaf off the plants ( and I'm anal about pulling any ugly leaves). Thanks"
True about petroleum products in both plant "food" as well as human vitamins. Save the soil. However, be careful of promoting anti-petroleum propaganda. The alternatives for power create even more pollution and harm to people who are middle class and lower than gas. But people believe the story, because it sounds altruistic instead of following the process and learning the alternatives hide some ditty secrets. Just like researching companies to see if they are worthy to support, we should apply this practice to everything. Trust nothing unless you've researched without learning on others to do the work for you.
You lost me at carbon footprint. Dude will you please show me how tf you can grow anything without carbon dioxide? Where there's more of it the vegetation is more lush. Climate cultists are the true conspiracy theorists.
monster gardens....bringing someone in to trash product you sell and snob the folks that have bought them is questionable at best. Save the snobbery and "better than" attitude, until you remove your "deaddrients" from your inventory and comitt to promoting the method you believe in. Terrible look folks. Stand behind what you do.
No till or nothin! All you need.... 1 part worm casting 1 part compost 1 part spagnum peat moss 1 part pumice stone (or perlite) Thats your base.... Dry ammendments you want... Kelp Alfalfa Oyster shell flower Crab meal Glacial rock dust Mix it all up well & youll have living soil in no time..... Keep things growing in it to keep it alive
Why would you even make a video like this? Very misleading, just for you two to shit all over these products. I don't use bottles anymore, but still have beginner friends who ask about nutes and was hopi g to provide a good review video, sadly thats not the case. "I'm not here to bully people" but you're there shitting on products. After 5 minutes of listening to Josh spout off, his attitude, I will NOT be using his product. Will stick with Gaia, my compost, and worms. Soil is not for everyone, its not the best or the worst. It's what works for the grower in their circumstances. Most of those nutes are for coco or dwc anyways.
Quantity vs Quality.. I'd rather have a organic plant with higher nutritional ,brix levels ie secondary metabolites with a sensible yield instead of a impressive yield with dramatically lower nutritional content. Synthetics can grow monsters but for better flavor & terps professionals go organic.. especially if it's medical. Newbs that have trouble understanding organics and following nutrient schedules typically smaller growers use Synthetics. After researching and growing most switch to organics & veganics to push the plant & flavor/terp profile further. There are tons of scientific evidence that also supports the reason why organic is better than synthetic.. true people love huge frosty buds.
@@PeterKKraus science proves that statement wrong. Research has already proven more terps & secondary metabolites are made by organic living soil grows vs Synthetics. Literally every Research experiment proves Synthetics are for fast big plant yields.yet lack nutrition & secondary metabolites compared to organic. Organics are for higher quality 👌 check out ncbi they have Research papers you can read, proving this. That's why Big Agro & the majority switched to organics. It's safer and gives a better end result with a better ROI & scientifically proven. Opinions don't matter. There is plenty of evidence proving this.
You’ve got a lot of nerve to call your channel Learn Organic Gardening and then do a infomercial for chemical salt fertilizers. Quit spreading misinformation
I live in Humboldt County and yes the cannabis industry is crashing hard due to all the high prices of maintaining an operation. The fires and rolling black-outs have also, really taken their toll on alot of the local outdoor farmers, aswell as indoor. I personally am moving to a more organic soil builds an fertilizer. I just do enough for personal medical usage for chronic pains, an find that the whole process is very therapeutic for my mind.
@@movementwithmel i hate to say harborside but i honestly dont no anywhere else to get clones other then from homegrowers even craigalist might be a better option
You can get clone and seed from a despo. I personally get my clones from a local breeder. But honestly you really need to talk to the person about the how it was cloned an whether the mother is from seed or not. Cause you'll find people making clones into mothers an going that way but that makes horrible clones. Check the health of the clones before agreeing to anything.
Why pretend to do a fair review when you two are just going to blow each other over being organic growers for the entire video? Why not just title the video "old smug hippies who dont understand plant chemistry yell at cloud"?
Help! I have always wanted to try growing organically but have been scared because me and math are not friends. Some videos make it seem very complicated. What are some fool proof tools that I can use to measure with when mixing these products together? Also what video can I watch that will show me how and when to use the products for my cannabis grows from seed to harvest? Thanks
Lost me at first mention of "deadrients". You seem to find the most "holier than thou" people to interview. Always want to preach, in one way or another. If it's not a rant about wearing a mask one day, it's insulting a vast majority of current growers by calling their nutrients, "deadrients". He may be knowledgeable of what he's speaking but, ignorant in life.
Some of the most fragrant and best tasting flower was grown with salts... I'd hate to have newbies out here thinking otherwise.... Genetics and your environment play the biggest part in bringing out all the expressions, aromas and flavors
its all grown with salts. no till/ living soil just regulates the manufacture and release inside the media. people have all sorts of dumb ways of looking at things when they are still learning, and sometimes people never develop a holistic approach and become the teacher.
@@dnx112 ok but.... its all salts. in living soil the release/ synthesis of the salts is bio regulated by a feedback loop between the soil life and the rhizome of the plant, where as in hydroponics the salt is added in a feedback loop between the grower and the plant. in hydroponics the salts are "dead" where as in soil they exist in both there hydrous and anhydrous states concurrently.
@@aylahughes9185 Organic vs synthetic is like Steak vs dog food. I know you like dog food but us adults will take the steak aka organic. Side by side grows for the last 12 years using organic nutes vs your synthetic favorite has been no comparison. Not saying synthetic can't be decent but not awesome like organic nutes in side by side grows EVERY time. Rookies can say anything they want because they only used synthetic but there is no comparison compared to using organic nutes vs synthetic nutes.
Love azomite. Started this year. I swear that has to be the reason my plants didn't freeze one frosty morning. Zero plants died, when I was expecting a complete loss. I mean I've seen less frost do way more. Now, I can't prove or even know if azomite could be responsible, but it is what it is. That shits loaded with like... lol, every damn mineral. Good find for sure.
Only problem I've found with soil is there's nothing clean about it so you must have an outdoor space to work on stuff. I grow in recirculating hydroponics so the only waste I have is a small rockwool cube. Ionic seems to be a really clean and effective nutrient. Doesn't need to be more than 700ppm unlike other brands
You know ionic is one of the best right? So many people see it as a starter feed when it's just a perfect base to build from. Dutch pro, canna, GH, AN, mills, pukka are all shit, unstable as hell in hydro setups where the quality really shows. I mainly use an 820w led now so the bulbs can stay wrapped up until autumn, Enough smoke to last me the year ain't bad
@@DS-qy3qv I’ve been on AN forever. Now trying Connoisseur for the first time. I’ve always mixed AN with General Hydro base flora series and I’ve done very well.
You both have done so much for the organic grower. We owe both of you for opening our eyes and getting us all on the right track. Thank you both for all the knowledge.
I live in Sonoma County, not far from Monster Gardens. I've been buying from them for years. Primarily, I use Nectar For the Gods nutrients which is always in supply at Monster Gardens.
Ionic fertilizers, when used properly, do not kill soil biology. High Brix growing is beyond "organic". Blindly adding "organic" amendments is not good either - I have to swap the soil in my garden because it's way out of balance. I switched to water only/no run off because I flooded my room twice, and constantly making RO water is wasteful and tedious. Definitely the lazy man's approach to quality plants.
Although I do not grow cannabis, I find videos such as this very educational and extremely helpful. I believe that I have probably spent more time building and nurturing my soil, than I have planting anything! I really do believe that a well prepared and maintained soil can provide plants most of what they require to thrive. I have joked and said, that if I were to move from my current location, I would box up my raised bed soil that I have worked so tirelessly building and take it with me! Thank you for continuing to provide content such as this. There is so much to learn and so few reliable sources out there teaching and sharing their knowledge.
They keep talking about deadriemts n soil. I don't use soil... I'm aeroponic... So... 30% of this vid so far is useless - _- ... So now they're contradicting themselves saying the useless deadrients work and can produce record yields... 😮💨
Cool video!!! Grow stores can be overwhelming for newer growers. Thanks for pointing folk in the best direction for not getting ripped off! Unfortunately, a lot of shops are happy to rip you off when you don't know what you're doing. Please believe this: You can get as good or better results with the less expensive stuff. Don't get distracted with the cool colors and pretty pictures! 🙂
Indeed.... It's easier to scam newbies than to convince them they're being scammed.... And in the case of not-so-newbies / "experienced" growers, it's often easier to rely on their egos / low self esteem to keep them convinced they're paying for stuff they don't actually need...
Didn't take but a few minutes of viewing your chsnnel for me to delete and move on. This Josh character is too much . Too much bias political rants and masks. Later weeds! Horrible videos.
you talk bad about all these nutrients that people SHOULDNT use, but here you're supplying your store with the BS. This whole video is just you two talking in circles smh!
That dude is putting way too much faith in the organic label. Some of the most corrosive and dangerous liquids are organic forms of chemicals or even metals. Organic Mercury is likely the most dangerous form of mercury to us humans. There's also a massive problem with "organic" meaning different things to different people. There are different certifying bodies and not all of them can agree on what is and is not organic a lot of the time. It really does get quite convoluted at times.
Sorry but to say that powered nutrients and liquid work the same is not true at all (22:15). Take silica for example. Ready to use liquid monosiilic acid products work a million times better than the powered silica products that take weeks to absorb. Also, a bunch of people I know switched to powdered lines and their weed taste like cardboard. So based on what I've observed they aren't the same at all.
The political sermon about deadrients was unnecessary. I grow in coco, not soil, out of choice and this guying talking about hating convention has totally bought into the climate change cr@p. Any person who is arrogant enough that we can save the planet is insane and as for a changing climate - we'll that's been happening since the beginning of time!
Thank you John and thank you Josh and I definitely support boogie Brew products I'm actually about to order more pure protein because that stuff has done my plants wonders I support locally owned companies like Josh's because those are the companies that need supporting
Is this a joke? So you’re going to recreate nature, better than nature can do. In a tent. Under a light. Yeah…. Ok. The ego on you cannabis guys is insane.
He lost me at deadtrients and chemicals. A big problem in this industry is its full of stoners with a lack of formal science/agricultural education. Organic compounds are chemicals too and they're not always better or more environmentally friendly. Synthetic fertilizers won't harm soil microbes if used correctly. The plant cannot recognise if a nutrient had additional carbon atoms attached to it before uptake. Carbon based organic nutrients just slow the process down. Organics only produce better quality bud when the grower isn't good, as synthetics are harder to dial in. If you want to maximise growth rate and genetic potential you need at least some synthetics. But if you just want good bud that's easy to produce, then organic is great.

Funny. I always watch for that too. I like that they are friends. Shows us that we can get along with a lot more people than we think with a little patience, humor, and willingness to listen.
I’m curious. I was looking up teas for my vegetable garden. I have a lot of peppers. Me and my wife love making our own salsas. Can I apply this to my peppers like you guys do to the weed? Or is that a whole different application/approach?..
Foxfarm is not good anymore. Maybe out west you get a different formula, but I’ve had several issues that never occurred with Ocean forest before. I have switched to an east coast brand or make my own mix with promix. Indoor dry kept bags still had gnats, the worst I’ve ever seen was in a bag of Foxfarm Happy Frog. Foxfarm sold out and now it’s time to cash in on us with lower quality and less stable ingredients.
This is why this video is funny, they go after non organic liquid nurtients, promote their friends dry amendments, dont mention organic liquid nurtients, and then suggest growing in the hottest soil sold currently, hypocrisy
I'm honestly not getting any gnats and I've been using fox farms. I use mother earth for veg now cuz it's half the price of happy frog. I got gnats when I used 100% hp promix. I also got gnats thinking I could mix a soil of dry amendments and some cheap soil at home Depot. My brother in law also got gnats from hp promix.
You guy's have a wealth of knowledge. Us new growers. Who bought into all the bottle hype. Love the simple stuff. Thanks. But it's nice to know what's in stuff i grow for wife
While it's nice to grow in soil that is organic or "living", plants don't discern where their nutrient were derived from. Once it gets down to an absorbable level the nutrient ion is the same. The only real difference between organic and "synthetic" fertilizers is in how they are made. Synthetics use energy, oil and electricity, to pull Nitrogen out of the air, Haber-Bosch effect. Organic uses the soils own microbes to break down the nutrients already in the soil that are in the form of organic mass that contain these nutrient ions. Also, "synthetic" nutrients don't "kill" microbes. Microbes go dormant when they don't like the conditions like pH too high or low. I know this because I've personally tested a lot of these so called "synthetic" fertilizers and many, not all, but many are fine for microbial life.

Synthetic nutrition and many other chemicals are used in forestry. I learned this when I went to nursery school and was involved in planting trees. Greenhouse powder nutrients are good stuff for cannabis.
Deadrients kill soil life. Their use in both greenhouses and forestry are examples of how we al live in a chemotocracy. Soil Life is all life, shame on us humans for destroying the soil food Web.
This guy is so full of it. Yes some truth there spoken, HOWEVER, growshops will push the products they make most profit on😂😂 just like any other business! If he would stand behind what he would say, he would have all these other products stocked. My old shop only had 5 manufacturers in the store. He could of course, order stuff you wanted if he didn't have it. GH, AN, Gaja, Mother earth and BioBizz. That's all you need to know folks.
Great thing about Michigan is it has some of the best soil you can find anywhere and it's fully legal. Go out and put your plant in the soil in an open spot that gets sun, keep the weeds and bugs away , and water it a couple times a week . I even plant some other herbs around it to diversify the soil a bit. I promise you will get a plant that is as nice and healthy as anything.
this is new Mexico also. tbh the mineral soil base we have is one of the best terroirs in the world. just needs mulch/ humus built back on top. once the life is back you can dry farm here.
I love your vids! I'm from Europe and the stuff I use is Plagron supermix for my soil. I get good yields from my plants. I dunno if it's also available in the USA but what's your take on that brand/product?
Hi Luke I think you’re missing the point… Seems like we’re on different pages. Watch the 1st minute of the episode again please. John starts the episode by saying how this company will deliver to “anybody anywhere”. And how GOOD their customer service is - okay. We’ll - that’s not true from my experience with them. They didn’t even bother to respond to my email… FACT. And I also don’t agree with you that it’s extra work or difficult to pick a phone up and ask the shipping company, that they deal with every day, for a price to another country. It’s easy peasy. I send stuff from uk to Thailand all the time. It’s dead easy. They pick up from my home and away they go… job done. Anyhow… Luckily I’ve found a brilliant USA company that let you use their USA address… you buy and send to them… and they ship my goods to Thailand for $150 bucks. Happy days 👍

Hey John one soil that I have come across ever since I got into gardening nearly 6 years ago that I have had great success with is fox farm ocean forest. If you ever get a chance can you do a review on it because I’m really interested on what you have to say about it?
They’re Mineral feeds, not synthetic or chemical ‘deadrients’. They work just fine, a lot of the time better than the alternatives, but at the cost of flavour. Also proven that when used in correct dosages no harm is done to soil life.
Well I use Advanced nutrients.. the flashiest bottle of all. Grow Auto's in coco in 16 Litre pots x 4 in a 4x4 and get between 5.5 and 7.5 per plant. So I'm sticking with that as the smoke is lovely.
@@dmo848 I'd recommend you add sensizym and Rhino skin to that. I also use Voodoo Juice,B52 in veg and Nirvana in bloom. Then Overdrive Here's a useful summary of what each bottle claims to do. B-52 - B-52 is in fact a vitamin boost for your plant, containing lots of Vitamin B, it has B1, B2, B3, B5 and B7, next to the vitamins it also includes seaweed & kelp extract. Like every vitamin, it helps the plants health and also profusing the flowering. This means a boost in vegetative growth and increased floral production. Vitamin B causes the plants metabolism to speed up and gives it some stress-relief. They also included folic acid and humates which also increase metabolism and cell replication. Rhino Skin - Rhino Skin is in fact our silica. Silica is used to strengthen the plants cell-walls, which then increases the plants resistance to fungi and insects. It also helps to make the stems of your plant a lot stronger and also much thicker. It also causes the plant to uptake more CO2 and higher nutrient absorption. Rhino skin also reduces the water loss through leaves which can help guard against wilting. Wilting is a process where the water is lost through the leaves causing the leave to roll up on itself and therefor making the surface of the leave smaller. Sensizym - Sensizym are your enzymes, these are proteins that boost the breakdown of organic matter into other forms. This basically means, it cleans up your roots, getting rid of all the dead roots and making room for new ones. In the process it creates new nutrients for your plant. Voodoo Juice - Voodoo Juice is a powerful and very concentrated blend of beneficial microbes. They inserted 12 Super-strain microbes into this formula that will help your plant against root-diseases, breaking down the nutrients for better uptake and stimulates root-branching and root-mass. Piranha - Piranha is a blend of beneficial fungi, they have the same purpose as the microbes found in voodoo juice. These fungi break down the nutrients for better uptake by the plant, and protect the roots against diseases. They basically work alongside the microbes found in voodoo juice. Tarantula - Last in our list of root expanders we have tarantula, it also consists out of beneficial microbes, in fact another 11 Super-strain microbes can be added to your root zone. These microbes form colonies around the roots to protect them from diseases, feeding them oxygen and breaking down the nutrients for better uptake. Nirvana - Nirvana is a whole range of natural foods, it contains alfalfa meal, earthworm castings, humus, seaweed extract, yucca extract, bat guano and a mineral called azomite. These foods increase the natural oils and terpene production within your plant. Nirvana bridges the gap between naturally grown and hydroponically grown. As an extra it also boosts the speed of growth. Bud Factor X - Bud Factor X is a product that fights your plants immune system, triggering it to defend itself without causing any harm or stress to the plant. The benefit of that is, that it will cause the plant to produces more enzymes and therefor strengthen your plant against diseases, pests or stressful environments. Another benefit of increasing the level of enzymes is that the plant starts to produce high quantities of essential oils, significantly increasing the final weight of your plant. Last but not least, it also carries traces of magnesium and nourishes the beneficial bacteria in the root-zone. Bg Bud Coco - Big bud coco contains a wide spectrum of yield-boosting and flavour-enhancing ingredients. One of the most important ingredients is Iron, which is also something coco tends to hang on to and therefor stealing it from your plants. It also contains a healthy dose of potassium and phosphorus which are required in large quantities during the blooming period of the plants life. Big bud noticeably increases the number of flowering-sites resulting in more buds. Overdrive - Overdrive basically takes over where big bud ends. Its designed to optimally swell, mature and improve your flowers in late the late bloom cycle, its that final push to get bigger, higher quality and heavier buds. Bud Candy - Bud Candy is a special mixture of sugars and carbohydrates that will give your plants a burst of energy. It also causes the beneficial microbes and fungi found in the root-zone that are being created by Voodoo Juice, Piranha and Tarantula to increase their growth and reproduction, which will make them even more effective and supercharging them to create even better nutrient uptake and resistance against diseases. Bud candy also increases the sugar levels within the plant, which not only increases the size and weight of your plant, but also the aroma and flavor. Flawless Finish - With flawless finish, as the word says, u will use it in the last week of your grow, causing the plant to use up all its build-up nutrients within the plant, and get rid of the salt & toxic residues within your plant. This was u will end up with a more cleaner, more aromatic and eventually better tasting end product
@@dmo848 PS...ignore what is says on the chart about when to start the big bud....start adding it as soon as you see bud sites. even though still in veg

There is a difference science indoor vs outdoor:
Indoor I can outgrow my organics tent 2 or 3 to one with hydro/salts and can adjust what they receive in minutes.

Advanced Nutrients, Plagron and General Hydronics users have the best yields on growdiaries. I have heard Dutch Pro is good too.
@@JakeCannabisco The only thing that needs to be organic in food or weed growing is pest control. A synganic set up is not detrimental to quality.
@@PeterKKraus science proves that statement wrong. Research has already proven more terps & secondary metabolites are made by organic living soil grows vs Synthetics.
Salts are 100% crap and the only way it is fire is because you have fire genetics. Organic grown is at least 50% more flavors compared to nasty salts.

Another hidden gem by the masters of soil. Great video 📝

Amen to that. The lack of basic scientific knowledge here is outstanding

Down to earth. Gotta try this good for tweeking your own npk formula.

@@dmo848 I'd recommend you add sensizym and Rhino skin to that.
I also use Voodoo Juice,B52 in veg and Nirvana in bloom. Then Overdrive
Here's a useful summary of what each bottle claims to do.
@@UbiquitousRomp I seen a video the other day saying they have voodoo plus which has like 4 of the products all together. That is what I'm grab as it's quicker I think n that b52. Using grow dots n recharge in the Coco grow only. The soil grow will get the advanced nutrients ph perfect when it's ready. About another week I'll start a small feed as they r seedlings at the moment.
So I should mess with that overdrive stuff? I figured the big bud n bud candy would be all I really needed for bloom. Idk never messed with this stuff before last year.
I like Fox Farms
I use "deadrients" I respect the organic way but just found it wasn't for me. It's totally OK to use bottled nutes. I think calling them deadrients is a bit extreme
Black strap Molasses
Tip from a older grower molasses is all you need. Feed the soil and the plant will do the rest. ❤
So true!
