I'm playing through Dragon Age for the first time and this was the origin I picked. I honestly dont think I could've picked a better one. The zero to hero story my DC went through is so amazing and fits so well into the games themes of self sacrifice, betrayal and doing what's right even at great risk to yourself.
I really remember fondly the Orzammar portion of this game. The choice between the two kings, specifically, and showing that both have pros but also cons. Duncan is strong and makes his people prosperous, but he is also a cold hearted dictator achin to a fascist. Harrowmont is much more on the compassionate side, but his rule is just not as effective. Only wish they somehow made possible for the Noble Dwarf Origin to reclaim his/her place as rightful ruler XD Edit: Also, it's been ages since I didn't played this game, so my memory could be extremely foggy on many things XD Names included
Duncan was the human Grey Warden that recruits you; the other king candidate was Bhelen of House Aeducan. And, tbh? Harrowmont's 'compassionate' rule results in the death of Orzammar. Bhelen'a rule results in the dwarves making alliances with the surface, more trade, the establishment of rights to the casteless, and even results in the dwarves regaining ground against the darkspawn. As much as I used to hate Bhelen for betraying my dwarf noble, I can't help but respect him now. Bhelen pulled a Renegade Shepard move on us. That's all.
The foreshadowing at 3:50 is maybe just a little heavy-handed. This was the first origin I completed and even then I was kind of surprised to have the overarching goal of your character spelled out right at the beginning like that. Especially because Rica sounds completely earnest, like becoming a paragon is something you should seriously think about doing, as opposed to being a nearly impossible prospect.
My favorite origin purely due to how powerful of a scene removing the helmet at the Proving is, and what your victory as a casteless dwarf means amongst warriors and nobles. It's a complete rejection of your societal role up to that point, and I've always seen it as the moment Brosca refused to take the abuse lying down. So awesome.
Dwarf Commoner origin is the only reason that im a little torn with future king between harrowmont or Bhelan cause on one hand bhelan is like scar murdered his brother framed a family member and has dirty dark allies but he also cares about the exiled and abandoned such as my poor sister Rica

I couldn't bear to choose Harrowmont even when playing as a Dwarf Noble.

I’m not too big on the Dwarven Commoner Origin. Something about exploring the same mountain, but it’s in Dust Town. Maybe the Dwarven Commoner could be a bit better if the Dwarven Warden was a Surface Dwarf.

Still... in my opinion the arms of female dwarfs are way too long in this game. The proportions just doesn't fit. But as for the game itself... Dragon Age Origins is the stuff legends are made of. Period.
