One of the most underrated bands in rock and roll. If they hadn't come to the scene too early, they would have made it big in the early 80s when glam metal and hair metal exploded.
John: I saw Angel last night!!! Frank was in TOP FORM!!! HE SANG LIKE AN... ANGEL!!! HOW ELSE CAN I DESCRIBE IT!!! He hit ALL THE HIGH NOTES!! LIKE HE DID BACK IN THE DAY! LIKE ON ALL THE RECORDS FROM THE 70'S AND HE LOOKED GREAT!! The whole band looked great and they did they ever put on a performance!! I don't know how they did it!!! It was jam packed of movement and non stop playing. AND COMPLETELY SOLD OUT!!! It was cold outside, so the heat was on and it was HOT INSIDE. The band had on kind of heavy clothing I felt bad for them. I'm sure they were DYING!! But, they kept on! No one complained. I saw a Morrisey video and he said he was cold, so five minutes of singing, he walked off the stage!!! Can you believe that? No one from Angel said a peep about it being hot and I was perspiring and I was wearing thin cotton pants and a short sleeved tee shirt. Frank was a great front man bantering with the audience and he moved across the stage with grace. I ALMOST MENTIONED THIS INTERVIEW, but I was star struck and nearly fainted! My heart was beating quickly, my stomach had flutters and I felt light headed. I had a CD that I put the sleeve away and he said, "Don't you want an autograph on it?" I was so flabbergasted I forgot what I was doing! They have a new album coming out on April 21 of this year. 04/21/2023, so EVERYONE BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR ANGEL'S LATEST ALBUM!!! I don't recall the title, unfortunately. But, it was a FANTASTIC TIME!!!! ❤❤❤ Thank you, John! Because of you, I got to meet Angel AND FRANK!!!❣
Bella, Frank is one of the few iconic singers that has not lost his range. He truly is an awesome singer and an even better person. What you see is the real deal. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching.
power metal with a glam look, Angel was ahead of thier time, if they would have come out a decade later and we would view them in the samelight as Motley Crue and Def Leppard. Super band who should have been much bigger.
I too, fell in love with Frank. Glad to see he’s on tour with Punkie again. BTW, my dad’s name was William. So how many times do you think I heard “Danger Will Robinson” as a kid! Thanks for the compliment. But all the credit truly goes to the star, Frank! JJ
This guy had always been an influence on the way I sing cause I would sing along with all the angel albums . I just started watching this , thanks Frank ,you guys had the coolest stage show and your music was heavy , melodic, progressive, great harmonies , fantastic songs thanks this was part of my soundtrack to my life !!!!
Something seems off on audio and video , not matching right in video , but thank you for posting this , frank is a great singer and hero to angel fans around the world
Alex; thanks for the input I will check it out. BTW, Frank is exactly as you saw him. Not pretentious or unapproachable. A truly great person and front man!! J
Great observation Joe. Angel was one of those musical groups that didn’t really fit into a specific category. And certainly, Angel was recognized for their contributions to the “big hair band” era with an award a few years back. So you might be right. Thanks for watching and commenting. I do want to let you know that the Frank you saw in the video was the “real deal”. He is one of the nicest and most sincere people I’ve meet in the music industry. Thanks again. JJ
@@jjrobin999 Thanks John! Love this interview, & don't doubt that about Frank. Angel was one of those bands I recognized as a teen but was to into much heavier stuff to appreciate them at the time. Just rediscovered some of their music & absolutely love "Mirrors." Great great great song ,right up there with some of the best of them IMO. Tweeted it out on my twitter accounts. (@Merican_Muse & Barcode_Nation) & followed Frank & Punky. You on @Twitter? Lot of John Robinsons out there, lol!
Barcode Joe Thanks Joe. We have a few more interviews in the mill. If you have a chance, watch the Mike Candito interview. He is another awesome musician and great person. PS. I don’t Twitter personally. But appreciate the positive feedback and Tweets. Rock on!! J
Bob, the Frank you saw in the interview is the “real” Frank. The time I met him when he arrived at our studio for the interview, I offered to shake his hand. He flashed a big smile and said“ forget that. Come here” and he proceeded to give me a hug. I asked him, like I do with all of my guests, what topics or issues he wanted me to avoid bringing up in the interview. He told me,”heck, you can can me whatever you want” and gave me that big smile he seems to always have. There is no doubt that if you see him in person on the street and approached him. He would give you that warm smile and hug. Great person!! Thanks for watching. JJ
Bella, your observations as to Frank’s age are very astute. He certainly looks and still performs like he was in his 20’s. He was even better looking in person and I was very jealous! Thank you for your comment. Best, JJ
VERY NICE INTERVIEW and you look pretty nice yourself, but having seen Frank ages ago... he still looks the same from the 1970's videos and photos! I can't believe it!!!
@@belladonna131 Bella, very kind words and very much appreciated. However, all the praise should go to a truly nice and extremely talented Mr. Frank Dimino! If you have a chance, take a look at our interview of another very talented Las Vegas musician, Mike Candito. Thank you again. Best, JJ
Sponsored by Affliction, wardrobe of the almost rockstar. Lol eyewear by Osborne and Hair by Simmons. It's all good I'm sure he has his own style in there somewhere lol
The best concert group 1978 to 1981. Thanks Angel.
True that, Jerry!!
One of the most underrated bands in rock and roll. If they hadn't come to the scene too early, they would have made it big in the early 80s when glam metal and hair metal exploded.
Timing is everything thing Diego. But it’s great to see Frank is still relevant today!
J
I bought my first Angel album the year they broke up in 1981. Would kill to see them tour again with a full show.
Love Frank and Angel ❤ Fantastic job on this interview!!!
I share the love and thank you!!😘JJ
Saw them in Texas in late 70’s fricken awesome. Frank is just cool
Randy, Frank is the “real deal”. A great artist and very personable.
Thanks for comment and watching.

I LOVE PUNKY MEADOWS FOR LIFE
Took me 43 years to c Angel in Warren Ohio
I’m sure it was well worth the wait. I’m sure he hasn’t missed a beat or list a note in all that time. The man is amazing!
JJ

Angel.. I think was to heavy to be called a glam rock band.. IMO, they better fit the Hair Band label.. perhaps the 1st Hair Band?

Definitely their last two albums would be considered hair metal but their first two we're definitely more Progressive and classic
Glam and progressive rock mix
I assume arrogance for most rock stars, but Frank seems like a good guy.
