    Obviously no one can prevent someone from quitting/resigning.
    But… it needs to be treated differently. The department that hired the cop, that department should be able to ‘hold’ every officer working there’s Certification.
    So a bad cop can quit, but the department holds his certification. He cannot get another law enforcement position without his certificate. So must wait till the department concludes its investigation and findings.
    Too often we see cops quit to avoid accountability. Whether the bad cop quits right off, or like too many, they sit on Paid Suspension for years, only quitting just prior to the investigations conclusion.
    A cop that quits at start, during, or end of investigation: the findings from the department should get forwarded to the certification board, and the certification board should have the final say about the cops future.
    *Not the damn union. It’s retarded that the police union has so much power to dictate law and avoid prosecution for their members. Unions were to ensure safe work environments, fair wages, benefits packages, even holidays. But the cop unions are dictating to legislators and prosecutors.

      @Brian-pz3wh 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@matthightower1570 It appears to me that people have no clear understanding of what "qualified Immunity" really is. It is judicial doctrine applied by judges to instances of complaints against police in trials and legal actions before trials. Without codification in the law books that then places this immunity at various judges whims. Given the squirrelly nature of judges in America that does not sound right to me at all. It needs to be codified in law so that there is a level playing field, and that all police officers know OUTRIGHT that once they start policing their bad attitude or ego's or ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE LAW they lose that immunity and they are screwed.
      In addition if you completely void qualified immunity every pissy little ahole that didn't like getting a ticket for doing 50 in a school zone will sue and contest. NEVER forget the fact, that a resignation can be rejecte and the officer terminated on disciplinary grounds. Yes, it's more paper work. Yes, it's a hassle. But it's the right way to do it. 's office saying that had they known about the driver attempting to take the baby from the car they intentionally rear-ended they would have pursued charges? While you're there asking why they won't reopen the case and charge the driver with the witnesses that they have and the driver who was hit, even with what police reporting they did get and body worn camera footage they have enough to open a case of Hit and Run, leaving the scene of an accident, attempted kidnapping, who knows what else they could dig up to charging with that's a good enough start isn't it? Don't let up the pressure on these people in the DA's office and the sheriff's office! Don't start something you can't finish tmj4 News! That'd be like free victimizing her all over again. Where are the attorneys stepping up to the represent this woman? She's a veteran for Christ's sake! The woman was a Milwaukee civilian police officer for Christ sake! The woman had just given birth and she had a newborn child with her in the car for God's sake! This is an outrage & this is a travesty and a denial Justice. Do not let those in positions of authority off the hook for this, because it's their officer who screwed up and if they're not going to hold him accountable & they decided to let him resign instead - then it falls in their laps! Now it's their faults all of this went down. That officer on the phone telling her that the case is closed that it's a done deal that it's over with the matter is done? Absolutely without a doubt -he needs to be fired! Suggesting that they didn't have to do their favor of removing the charge for the guardrail on her record? Ffs, what an insult! What a moron he is.

    I can't get a fix on what the crime was. Attempted kidnapping? Did the cop try to take the baby? What happened here?

    Imagine that, a cop without accountability!! Are we still wondering why people dont trust the police?? Hold people like this to a higher standard and people will start to trust again!!

    Executive Crowley dipped around that interview 😂. He suggested sueing the police department, but didn't think the investigation needs to be re-opened?

    Why do they get to resign and aren't prosecuted more immunity

  • @highrzr

    The deputy resigned and is most probably working at another law enforcement department. No accountability and no consequences. This is not a training issue and no amount of training can fix a bad officer.

    Yep the departmemt is trying to hide that it is there responsibity to supervise their people. In stead the guy resigns and go gets a job somewhere else and the police dept just washes there hands.
