They are still making Expendable films and they need to stop. What little magic this series had is long gone. Stallone is a legend but it's time to hang it up. The bar is too high for action.

I remember being stoked for the first one- it really was a good concept! but what a bust. And then every one after was worse. They just act as sad reminders your childhood heroes aren't relevant anymore and all dreams eventually die.....

I was happy they had the guy from “the raid”. He’s a great fighter. Unfortunately he was horribly under used. Also Antonio’s son was pretty good. At least he was having fun. Megan Fox is mostly plastic and filler. I don’t understand how people can think she is hot. She was hot, past tense. In addition her acting range is bimbo-slut. Not a broad range.
Would have loved to see more of him fighting. Definitely under used. The guy playing Antonio’s son was fine in the role. They gave him more than most characters get in this series and you’re right, only guy having fun.
They probably had Megan Fox because they want to do a female team spin-off.

Megan Fox IS still hot, but 100% needs to be typcast. She can play a girlfriend or a mistress. She can't play a wife, mother, someone smart or tough. Like...remember when Marky Mark played a scientist /science teacher in The Happening? it was just wrong. What can I say, some people don't have that kind of range. But there are women who CAN be hot and tough like Kate Beckinsale and Charlize Theron
I don’t find her hot, I find her to be mostly plastic and filler at this point. But I agree she doesn’t have the range to play this. Doesn’t handle tactics or guns professionally and she’s the leader? Ok.
I think most guys would still go for her but she’s definitely not what she used to be. Looks aside, she had no business being in charge of that team. At least the film had a few brain cells left to have Statham show up and save the day and not her. That would have sunk this film to a low nobody would have been prepared for in an Expendables film.
I bet you they will keep making ex movies but they'll make them on really low budgets (like the death race or escape plan sequels) !! they wont be able to afford Statham and Stallone will just cameo !

Haha, I recognized a few titles she was in. Definitely not someone known to general audiences. No problems with her, but she took the place of someone who would have put a few extra butts in seats.
Looks like reviews on EX4 is fast convincing me - along with friends/colleagues - to avoid this at all costs : nearly ten years is far too long, including the fact that it's not taking much at the box office, doesn't look good at all!.
The series was mediocre to begin with but was at least watchable. This is not.

As long as the MF personal life garbage doesn’t appear in the film, I don’t think we can ding the movie for that. Horrible mother though. Are you referring to Levy Tran? Lol. Who are you talking about? Putting her in charge didn’t feel politically motivated when we watched it. Otherwise they wouldn’t have had Statham show up to save the day. She didn’t do much to lead them to victory at all. Pure eye candy.

There was definitely an internal debate for me about that lone rainbow, lol. It could have gone either way but ultimately it didn’t bother us because she didn’t save the day.
Without having seen the film, (and I probably never will) making Megan Fox the leader definitely deserves 1 rainbow

We need more diversity in these movies. Tommy lister and the rock could easily be added to the crew, and instead of Megan fox, let's put in Dylan Mullaney. Makes just as much sense but we can check off more boxes
Carl Weathers and Mulvaney can clasp hands and both say “Dylan” at the same time. It will be epic.

You guys are spot on. This movie fucking blows. I was on my phone like 15 minutes in. Definitely thr worst mainstream movie of 2023 and to me easily the worst movie in the series. What a joke.
It’s getting absolutely wrecked at the box office. Hopefully the final nail in this series.

@@hardcutreviews Yea I agree but i truly think Stallone believes his longevity comes from bc he never stops working. By longevity I mean his heart is still ticking bc of how busy he stays. Gives him purpose. It's like the blue zone areas through out the world but in Hollywood 😂. Arnie too in a way.
