I must admit: I have discovered years later why some parfums were believed to be very special, i.e. Narcotic Venus. Took me years to have an epiphany.
My justification for perfume purchases: I can always gift it to my family. See? Insane!
You inspire me to only keep what I need and enjoy and not to just continuously consume with no purpose. Love your channel and honesty
Almost everything is huge on youtube ... " huge perfume haul, huge clothing haul, huge makeup haul, huge book haul " .. and then is another huge ... huge declutter .

Verónica, another lady on this platform, told me -when I commented I was punished due to perfume over-spending (self-chastisement), she said: It is Self-Care... not punishment when you choose not to succumb to spending on that which is not necessary.
After a while it becomes more about chasing that high or thrill you get from finding a new Holy Grail or one that is a LOVE.

Absolutely currently going through a huge declutter and only keeping 5-7 fragrances I really need 1-2 bottles per occasion, work/ date night/ summer ect!
Happy is in the doing. Everywhere.
My philosophy with any purchase, especially fragrances and other pricey items is, "If i don't leave the store and think about it for several nights and days, i am not going back for it."
I completely understand and support you because I feel the same! When I reduced my perfume collection to a 5, I felt so much happier and I noticed I’m not feeding my perfume addiction anymore. It felt so good that I even went so far that I decided to keep only 2 perfumes. And those are Xerjoff Accento Overdose for special occasions and Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc for every day. I’m happy I can finally say I have a signature scent and I like the idea that my boyfriend can recognize me by my perfume 😄
I personally would really like to see your declutter. I like hearing your thoughts, you call it rambling, but it helps me process my own stuff.

That's how I feel. Almost as if I'm on the hunt for my scent soul-mate. Like what is my perfect signature scent? It's too expensive to keep looking lol. I was happier when I just took a whiff in a store, liked it, & rocked one til it ran out.
Totally agree and sympathise, back in January I realised that I had acquired what I wanted and decided to enjoy what I have and be happy/confortable with it, and I’ve never looked back. Good luck with your journey 🙏🏻

After I found my scent profile, buying more or experimenting just didn't work. The same regarding my makeup. I know what works and I'm happy.
Same! Learning to live with this conclusion is hard but Im slowly letting things go that don’t serve me. Trying hard not to want to want things!
I have a very healthy perfume collection. Around 75 bottles. I LOVE my perfumes and I love trying new ones. I couldn’t imagine not tying and buying new perfumes. BUT, if I want a new perfume, I have to let one go. I’m strict with that rule.
I feel the same way. Your first perfume declutter videos from a while back inspired me to cut my collection back. I had around 300 perfumes. I’m down to 115 and still feel I have too much 😬😭

I completely get what you're saying because I have a small perfume channel in Argentina, and I am a teacher/ scent/ beauty lover who wants to share her thoughts on perfumes, but sometimes I feel the same way. I feel anxiety about my growing collection, or sometimes I feel trapped trying to get the newest launch or trend. It's exhausting

I personally love your collection update videos, nice and long and chatty, with your coffee cup and just describing amd sniffing your perfumes and updating us on how you feel about each one now. ❤❤❤
Smell is literally a component that can influence your feeling. So if you suddenly don't like a scent anymore, that's not surprising. Suppose you like a scent and you go shopping and put on this scent, suddenly you get into a fight with a customer in the store. Then your subconscious can create an aversion to this smell.
True. People associate scents with events, people, feelings... And the outcome is not always positive. Also, wanting everyone in the room to smell you is not okay IMHO. Many people don't like strong fragrances.
Thank you for your honest thoughts. I love perfume as well and I feel that pressure even though I don't make videos about it. Social medias in general have become a consuming black hole. We have to find the right balance, otherwise you get loss in this.
I am floored! I started to work on a perfume hoping I would love it and sometimes I convince myself that I do! Right now I am waiting to "need" Amouage Guidance and La Perla Possibilities, as well as Ouverture by Sospiro. I have not purchased full bottles yet, just sampling decant but I actually started to have this same conversation with self about wanting to compel myself to like!!
I always try to talk myself into liking something as well that is overhyped. It's a bad habit that I really need to break!
I agree, I love fragrance collection videos by people who don’t have a huge collection. I get bored watching “fragrance channels.” Especially the ones who come across as trying to sell me something.

Wow...just yesterday I watched a similar video on another perfume channel...I totally understand and agree at this point. I buy perfumes only if I really like them and your honest opinion really helps with the decision. Be true to yourself and enjoy your life! Best wishes!

That’s a very wise decision. I started watching your videos because you have reasonable perfume collection . To be honest I have stopped watching your channel when you stared buying niche perfumes. The fragrance community is usually very kind and friendly, but you are not the first video creator who mentions mean comments. Personally, I couldn’t care less about other people’s opinions on what I say and do, however I’m not on RUclips being judged. Mila Leblanc is literally the only person in this community who is unapologetic and extremely blunt in her rants and chats, and it’s refreshing to listen to her albeit somewhat abrasive or even shockingly entertaining sometimes 😂
This video hit home. I have always loved a good fragrance but used to have about 8 scents I owned and rotated based on season. I recently wanted a new summer scent. This led me down a rabbit hole, and now my collection has tripled in size. I have been thinking to myself, when does it end. I know I don’t want to have so many fragrances that they will go bad before I can finish them.

Personally I love watching declutter videos to see how we change our perspectives about certain perfumes but I don’t like watching hauls 😂 is that weird?
I also love project use-it-up contents to finish certain body sprays, lotions, and perfumes.
Same, i am so overwhelmed by hauls and i stopped watching them, but there is something relaxing and satysfying about declutter videos. 😅
I capped at 50 bottles. I have about 30 travel size or decants under 5 ml. Been doing more 5 ml decants if I really want to try something. I don’t declutter. I use up what I love.

I agree 100%. got into fragrance in 2020 as well and I feel so overstimulated by it all. by the time I have the money for one popular scent, another one drops and ohhh it’s niche 😫 it’s like im always trying to keep up when it should be fun 😢

There are a few perfume channels that I find “healthy” they don’t post every other day and the perfumes are perfumes they love from their personal collections. You said a few times that you are not a “perfume reviewer” but you are here and you post and you influence people wether you like it or not, like you got influenced to buy the same perfume 3 times and decluttered it 3 times. Also find the longevity/silage very objective as well as some people will say this perfume lasts long and another person will say it doesn’t.
True,I never watched anything gifted or PR...the "reviewers" is getting those perfumes for free,even getting paid. And they Absolutely trying to sell it to us.And here we are blind bought those perfumes and ended didn't like. I mean new bottles every 2 or 3 days is not normal, it's absolutely gifted to them/free bottles

I used to wear a uniform to work, and I miss that. No time spent deciding what to wear, etc. I loved the consistency and simplicity.

PS, you inspired me to NOT go on Amazon to buy a perfume tray, but to instead use one that I already had. It’s not the most beautiful or amazing, but it is doing a great job.
I love the clean girl aesthetic too. I was recent watching Juli Fox on Emily’s podcast and she said clean girl is out it’s all about dirty girl lol. Thank god I usually lean towards vintage classics that usually have animalistic traits. Wear what you want whenever you want, don’t let just anyone influence you. Do what you want. Go with your nose and instinct. Clinique Aromatics Elixir is my signature and I’m a 27 he/she/they. It smells like a bright sunshine hardworking morning to me

I am very disciplined to return any I do not like; however I’m wondering where “decants” can be found. I have often thought, I have several fragrances that I love but wi t ever be able to wear and would love to share w/others via decant so I’m interested to know more about it! Thank you💕

got into fragrance for the very same reason - I agree at a certain point watching so many decluttering vids makes me feel like it’s far less intentional than it could be . No shade to collectors if that’s what you like , but happy to see you’re heading in this direction :)

I used to have 120 perfumes but I am now down to 97 ..I plan to go down to 5-6 perfumes per season .I used to wear different ones every day but I missed having a signature where people actually remember me from the fragrance I wear . So now I wear same fragrance when I go out

I agree! Love this video. I’ve discovered that my favourite note is Rose, so my collection is rose centred. And I don’t buy the obvious niche rose fragrances which are very expensive where I live. I like to hunt for discontinued rose fragrances or difficult to find fragrances…now that’s a fun game. I normally find perfumes I love and they’re not expensive. Dramatically cuts down on my purchasing and I have more fun when I find the ‘unicorn’ fragrance!

I search on the daily for a fragrance I’m honestly a little over the chase to be honest don’t get me wrong I love fragrance but I feel like for the past 3 years I still haven’t found my holy grail at this point I feel like I’ve spent more money then any joy that I’ve brought to my life if that makes any sense.. I have so many I don’t wear that I’d love to sell to a loving home
