I’ve started with just one drawer. It looked so nice when I was done that I soon did another. I’m inspired by looking at my cleaned out & organized drawers.
For me it’s to much stress and trouble to sell things and when I want things gone I want them gone so I just donate. I will offer to friends and family first and then it’s gone. So yes I am with you cut your loses
I feel this way too! Unless it’s something I believe I’ll be able to sell quickly and get a decent amount for, I’m not holding onto it longer than I need to!
@@kimgordon3695 What a great idea!! I have brought unwanted items to the gym or work lounge and put a sticky note “ Free to a good home!” Within an hour, the items are gone
I agree, I ignore that rule about decluttering things that I haven't used for 6 mos. I kept my dress from 1997 when I was in college, I used it on my ring hop and graduation ceremonies. My eldest niece used it on her JS prom back in 2005, and my youngest niece niece just used it on her college graduation last July 30. Yep, I am keeping quality clothes for future generations. These same nieces are now wearing my 20 years old Levi's jeans that are still in pristine condition. Thank you, love your video.❤
I have to strongly agree that what you consume in media is suuuuper important. It's insane how much it reflects our lifestyle and it can quickly become a reality if you want it!
This me. I barely have clothes and nothing on my walls. I love it. It’s so refreshing and relaxing to not have so many things. I’m just fine with everything that I own.
Thank you for presenting this from an energetic perspective. I'm a closet decluttering stylist and throughout all my training and reading no one has suggested "Visualize what your perfect collection would look like." I've worked from "how do you want to feel" but so many people are visual that thinking about how do you want things to look? is a great prompt.
Feeling good is more important. I feel good in clean, wide spaces with comfy pillows, high quality fabrics, good scents (orange or jasmine), not too much clutter.
Amazing video! The best tip for me was the “maybe pile” we can so easily just tuck things away in the garage or an empty room & feel like we decluttered but if it’s still in your home you really have not decluttered anything.
This video is so simple yet so rich and beautiful! I learned SO much! I’m having a hard time in my decluttering journey and this gave me so much more insight! Thank you!
I will say I have a bed with under storage drawers and I only use it for winter clothes/summer to switch out, blankets, and socks. I don’t have other places so for me that works but I only put storage items that I WILL use !!
Love it!!! And with your mom saying she would put an entertainment/console table under the tv, maybe a cord cover could fix that look and make it look more visually pleasing. It wouldn’t be a clutter magnet and would still feel open. But if it doesn’t bother you, then that’s what matters.
Love this video! I loved the advice to declutter in stages. I tried the Kon Mari method years ago and it was too overwhelming. Going in stages is much more effective.
Working in health care, I did not wear a fragrance as a consideration and courtesy to my patience, Same with nail colors that were not natural or clear. When decluttering I ask myself if i was moving would I take this item with me?
Good suggestions, thanks for the video. I have the same problem with my maybe pile: the choice doesn’t get easier with time. But nowadays I do have one maybe box that I go through regularly for when I want to give myself a bit more time and hope that I find the answers as time goes on. xxx
i agree with everything exCEPT that area under the TV, it's giving me anxiety omg I would put a pretty table there and just make sure not to let anything pile up
Thank you so much for saying what you said about hanging on to Poshmark items to sell. I have a closet full and it stresses me out. I sell an item every now and then but I find that just having the app I end up buying more stuff. I need to donate it all and delete the ap!
I'm new to your videos, you are my new favorite!! I love motivational videos!! You are SOOO INSPIRING!!! You have so many great ideas, i really enjoy your ideas to have a better, less stressful life!!!
I feel so lucky that I put no make up at all, I have no make up products and I don't watch make up videos (not saying that others should do the same) but I just feel grateful I never learnt to like it or to spend money on it
Very helpful video, Ilythia! Love this videos where I could just play your video and listen to you in the background! You should start doing podcast in the near future 💕
Actually, I'm not a minimalist at all, but if I'm overwhelmed, I think the smarter choice would be having a NO PURCHASE PERIOD, CONSUME WHAT I HAVE. Decluttering would be stage 3 for me
Your videos are so aesthetic. Yes, minimalism is goal. I don't mind if you review fragrances by samples in the future. I'm in the country that we can't buy fragrances and can return them if we don't like them 😢 I got inspired and buy new bottles every month and I feel like I haven't touch the olds.
I have to say that I agree with your mom about something under the TV. That cord hanging down the wall all the way to the plug would drive me crazy. Cords showing really bug me and that cord really stands out.. Other than that, some good ideas.
I used to have a giant perfume collection too and frankly it was more perfume than any one woman could wear for a lifetime - however I can’t seem to sell it even though they’ve mostly only been sprayed a few times at best but i did choose only the ones I’d really wear and that I like the best to keep
I don't have any plans for a fancy/formal event yet, but I have decided that if that comes up, I'm going to buy an infinity dress and call it good. That way I can use the same dress, but reinvent it, so I don't feel like I'm always wearing the same thing.
I’ve started with just one drawer. It looked so nice when I was done that I soon did another. I’m inspired by looking at my cleaned out & organized drawers.
good idea
Keep going!! 🚀
Heck YES*
This is a good tip. I will do this
Well now I did 2 drawers. They look so good I don’t even want to touch anything
For me it’s to much stress and trouble to sell things and when I want things gone I want them gone so I just donate. I will offer to friends and family first and then it’s gone. So yes I am with you cut your loses
Losses*
I feel the same. Just too much trouble and time consuming to sell. When i decide to let it go i want it gone NOW.
I feel this way too! Unless it’s something I believe I’ll be able to sell quickly and get a decent amount for, I’m not holding onto it longer than I need to!
We recently came up with an accessory exchange evening!
@@kimgordon3695 What a great idea!! I have brought unwanted items to the gym or work lounge and put a sticky note “ Free to a good home!” Within an hour, the items are gone
Also unsubscribe from emails that make you want to buy stuff. Companies always send emails saying you left things in your basket or the newest deals.

Decluttering is like peeling an onion - it’s done in layers.
And we're bound to have teary eyes doing it.
😆😆😆
I thought you said peeing-
@annalyticthis made me giggle but I so get it 😅

Im starting to slowly declutter my entire home! This video comes at a perfect time!!
😀 ❤️
👍
Keep going!!!
I dont have a decluttering tip but i do have a tip on cleaning ur shower and thats to use a mop. My back and knees are grateful for it
Steam mop works great!
Amazing video! The best tip for me was the “maybe pile” we can so easily just tuck things away in the garage or an empty room & feel like we decluttered but if it’s still in your home you really have not decluttered anything.
Becareful with the maybe pile it has consumed my basement. Now I want to trash it all
absolutely true

My best tip for decluttering: don't buy it in the first place!
Absolutely!
😊 yes that's correct
Agree 💯
Amen 😅
What about when you get Grandparents stuff…
I have been watching minimalist videos for years and this is by far the best one I have watched. Everything resonates.
this is my favorite declutter video yet! thank you.
Your home looks so serene
Thank you 😊
These are such excellent tips! I will come back to this video again and again. Cut your losses is a BIG one especially with smaller items.
This video is so simple yet so rich and beautiful! I learned SO much! I’m having a hard time in my decluttering journey and this gave me so much more insight! Thank you!
Awe thank you 😊 💗
@@thesimplechiclife You’re welcome!!
😮
I second this! ☺
I have 2lb and 3lb weights I haven't used in 15yrs. Even as a minimalist, there are things we hold onto and don't think about twice.
I don’t have much in my home but it’s tiny and isn’t anywhere as serene as yours. Your space is beautiful and simple. I love it!
I will say I have a bed with under storage drawers and I only use it for winter clothes/summer to switch out, blankets, and socks. I don’t have other places so for me that works but I only put storage items that I WILL use !!
10:49 for makeup videos I like checking travel videos. Great option to know their absolute favourites and the ones that are more versatile

We don't have to keep up with trends and consumerism! Thank you for the reminder!
That 6 mo rule has burned me several times. Argh. 😖 It’s nice to hear, to give myself permission, to ignore it. Yay!
Empty drawer good idea but what about seasonal clothes and extra clothing storage bins?
I do like how you make things clear...even though I know most things...it is good someone explains it - thank you 🤩
Very helpful tips! Right on time I'm trying to declutter my home now and I will definitely use these tips. Thank you
Love this video! I loved the advice to declutter in stages. I tried the Kon Mari method years ago and it was too overwhelming. Going in stages is much more effective.
This was great advice and really motivated me to get back in touch with minimalism.
Everything is yours keep what makes you happy 😊
Working in health care, I did not wear a fragrance as a consideration and courtesy to my patience, Same with nail colors that were not natural or clear.
When decluttering I ask myself if i was moving would I take this item with me?
I’m at that point!! It helps to be encouraged in a positive way so thank you 🤍
I love admiring, not possessing 😊 too much stuff doesn’t make me happy .
tip nr 3: I agree with you!
Ciao
Ausilia
You are so down earth and everything you said makes sense. Thank you.
Currently trying to decluttering my overwhelming home and this is such an amazing video!! Thank you 😊

I love your aesthetic, Ilythia! It's inspiring!
I don't throw anything away, l use them up and am more careful when I have to replace them
Your videos have FINALLY gotten me to completely declutter after 50 years. So grateful ✨.
This is by far the best video I've watched on decluttering. It's so badass and inspiring!
i agree with everything exCEPT that area under the TV, it's giving me anxiety omg I would put a pretty table there and just make sure not to let anything pile up
I agree. Or have an electrician hard wire the tv so there are no cords.
Good tips 👍 i keep repeating the de-clutter exercise, it helps minimise but not completely... So this video will help me take it to the next level
Thank you so much for saying what you said about hanging on to Poshmark items to sell. I have a closet full and it stresses me out. I sell an item every now and then but I find that just having the app I end up buying more stuff. I need to donate it all and delete the ap!
Love this video thx for the tip I have been minimizing the stuff in my room and spending less money on things I do not need or already have ❤❤
I'm new to your videos, you are my new favorite!! I love motivational videos!! You are SOOO INSPIRING!!! You have so many great ideas, i really enjoy your ideas to have a better, less stressful life!!!
I have started this journey. It’s therapeutic. I’m decluttering everything. Including paper work 😅
I’m so glad I’m addicted to not having a single perfume in my house. Watching that perfume tray sent me to the insane asylum.
I was clearing out the abyss under my bed when you mentioned about storing things under the bed 😂
I feel so lucky that I put no make up at all, I have no make up products and I don't watch make up videos (not saying that others should do the same) but I just feel grateful I never learnt to like it or to spend money on it
😂same here dear lol
Clothes its the wost . I have got all sizes and I hope I will loose weight 😢
😂
Love your home organisation videos , love your style beautiful home can’t wait for the next upload these videos are my favourite x
Really love this video. Simple to the point, right pace, soothing voice. Great job! Look forward to your other videos.
Inspirational, on point, yet it made my heart beat really fast at some points!!! Decluttering is truly emotional! 😅❤
Very helpful video, Ilythia! Love this videos where I could just play your video and listen to you in the background! You should start doing podcast in the near future 💕
Great points! Also, some things aren't just special occasion or occasion based but "seasonal."
Just found you! Love this video…needed to watch it TODAY! You have a new subscriber…simple and to the point. THANKS! 💙💙😊
I love this ,, I’m working on it , but lots to go,, you have motivated me❤
Thank you for your practical advice/tips for decluttering! This was very helpful to me.
Actually, I'm not a minimalist at all, but if I'm overwhelmed, I think the smarter choice would be having a NO PURCHASE PERIOD, CONSUME WHAT I HAVE. Decluttering would be stage 3 for me
Good point
I love the no maybe pile rule!
Ambre Magique!!!😭 How could you let it go! To each his own, but it is sooo beautiful!!!

This is the first declutter video I’ve watched that is realistic. I will subscribe and watch your organization ideas videos. Thank you!
Wow! Great tips for decluttering! Thank you !
Decluttering is healing and coming back to yourself
I really needed this video. Thank you so very much for posting it. This is really going to help me.
Loved this video! Thank you so much!
I really needed to see this video, thank you🥰
This has been heavy on my radar!!
Yes what I’m doing now , eating your Chanel getting some great decluttering tips
For special occasion , get multifunction dress or multifunction jumpsuit in black. I have dresses and ever sense
You have inspired me! Thankyou❤
I have so much I need to declutter I honestly don't even know where to start!
Is it better to start in one room, or with the big things, like exercise balls and elliptical machine, furniture?
The shoe organizer over the door, where did you get it? Thanks
I'd like to know also, thanks.
Yes! I want to know, as well, please 😃
This was very helpful & informative 👏
My 3 piles are 1. Keep, 2. Donate and 3. Throw Away
Respect for the second point, girl💖
Thanks, love this video. Part 2 please ❤❤
I have to say that I agree with your mom about something under the TV. That cord hanging down the wall all the way to the plug would drive me crazy. Cords showing really bug me and that cord really stands out.. Other than that, some good ideas.
I thought I was bad with perfume.. I have about 10😂 60-70…. Wow. Thanks for sharing the decluttering pointer💕
I used to have a giant perfume collection too and frankly it was more perfume than any one woman could wear for a lifetime - however I can’t seem to sell it even though they’ve mostly only been sprayed a few times at best but i did choose only the ones I’d really wear and that I like the best to keep
It helps me to ask myself "would you buy this again?" if no, it's easier to toss. If yes, why haven't I used it?
I don't have any plans for a fancy/formal event yet, but I have decided that if that comes up, I'm going to buy an infinity dress and call it good. That way I can use the same dress, but reinvent it, so I don't feel like I'm always wearing the same thing.
I would love to see you do another video on your wardrobe
I have literally 1 perfume at the time 🤔 but great video .love it ❤
Thanks for your video! I like it ♡
Thank you for the tips, excellent points!!!!!
Love this! Great tips.
This was very helpful. Thank you!
The Pandemic helped me to declutter. I use the one in one out rule.
best body lotion that smells nice?
Cheirosa 62 the bum bum cream:) mixed with 69 the coco cabana would be my fave. I actually don’t have any other scented lotions
I have to declutter in stages. If I try to do too much all at once, I get overwhelmed 😅
❤wow❤ thank you. I'm motivated now
Your mug has the most interesting handle
What do you do with the stuff? I mean nail polish, etc? Perfume?
I personally have donated them to St Vinnies. :)
I donate mine to a local cat and kitten shelter thrift store.
Great decluttering video!
I’m decluttering as well, but those exposed cords would drive me 😜 crazy!
Where did you sell your perfumes when decluttering?
From the first tip, i was like "no" 😅 just display and see everything you have alltogether, that's how you know you like everything you have.
New subbie!!!! Love your channel!!!!
