Pastel de tres leches is my favorite cake and I know nobody needs my approval and it doesn't really matters if I'm Mexican or not.... But I'm Mexican and I do approve this recipe 🙂 Well done Lindsay
Love all the little tips and facts Lindsay drops throughout the video, I always feel like I learn so much. Like, adding the melted butter down the side of the bowl, never would have thought of that on my own.
Hola Lindsey, I appreciate your tres leche video. No one does it the same in my family. So yours will be tested. Glad you pronounced Tres Leche your way. No worries. I applied the notification bell for future videos. Happy Saturday!
In the mixture of your "leches", put it in a pot on the stove and melt one bar (175 grams approx) of bitter sweet or milk chocolate and BOOM instant Chocolate Tres Leches. We make that at home, it's definitely something else. Greetings from Venezuela
I really like the video. Personally, I don't put sugar on the cake or whipped cream because it's too sweet for my family's liking. I also add vodka to the tres leches because we are all adults and we like to get drunk with cake.
Omg I am shocked! I had been thinking about making tres leches cake all week long and I was gonna use the same recipe I always use but now I will try yours!
In the video she says 3/4 cups sugar and in the written recipe on the description box website it says 1 cup sugar so which is the correct??????????? Thank you 😊
When lactose intolerant, use lactose-free whole milk (such as Lactaid) instead of regular whole milk to bypass all of the regular dairy. I use lactose free milk in all of my baked goods and I didn’t have any stomach issues. If you’re lucky, I try to get Lactaid or another lactose free brand like green valley sour cream to make coffee cake and wouldn’t have any issues. It’s different for everyone.
Amazing recipe. However in Latin America we dont put fruits on the top of this cake. Also we have another variation were we put "Dulce de leche" on top and then we call the cake "Cuatro Leches"😍😆
If there’s that much milk in the cake say after a day or two will it start to get really soggy? Or more then is good? This may be a dumb question I’m just thinking things get softer the longer they sit. Or did hers soak it all up so it’s in the cake instead of it “sitting” in milk
Yummy! This is a simple but still delicious version. Im Mexican and usually the fruit is sandwiched between two layers of cake the bottom being the one soaked with the leches and covered all around with the whipped cream and decorated with fruits. I would rather do this one instead. Half the work with all the taste lol
shreem S It's an eggless sponge So it's 1.5 cups of flour, 0.25 cup of cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, vinegar/lemon juice, condensed milk, butter sugar and then alternate adding milk and dry mix to butter sugar and condensed milk Then bake for 25 minutes Then while warm pour over the milk mixture(same milk ratios as this recipe)
you can absolutely make it dairy free by using soy or coconut milk + coconut oil/ margarine. Amazon sells great looking evaporated and condensed coconut milk, which would be my preference for the flavour. And it¨s not even expensive! About 10 $ for 4 cans, or cheaper if you buy in bulk. For the cream, you just need a can of full-fat coconut milk/ cream, though the brand that makes the condensed and evaporated coconut milk (Nature's Charm) also makes coconut whipping cream. So if you are dairy free and love coconut, you can make your cake and eat it too! :D
Here’s an idea for measuring correctly. Use a kitchen scale and measure your ingredients in any bowl, cup, pan, vase etc. using any tool you like spoon, shovel, vacuum etc. in grams! Correct measurement every time! No need for fluffing, flattening or using multiple measuring tools!
All of our recipes come in cups...and what happens when you are baking and your scale battery dies?? Yes, scales are useful for precision work, but perhaps not the occasional home baker.
Dominique D I really don’t think that you’d be caught unprepared. The scale shows when the battery is low and they rarely sell a single (or two) battery. If you’re still concerned, you could use rechargeable batteries or go one step further (backwards) and use a scale with a spring arm that uses no battery at all.
I've been caught off guard before! I actually do have a kitchen scale that I use for soap making, and there is no indicator on it, nor are the batteries readily available. Again, I can see how it would be useful for specific finicky recipes, but most of ours involve a cup of flour and a cup of milk sort of thing.
+Didí Lasá gracias!!! here in panamá we only have rompope and eggnog during christmas time but i'm not a big fan anyway but i know some people who would love that hahaha
This looks like a contender for the perfect Tres Leches. You really ought to chill that cake well before topping with whipped cream though. I'd use more whole milk and less cream for my taste...but this egg foam cake has piqued my interest!
There is another Eastern virgin of it; called Saffron Cake, only one kind of milk soaked in Saffron threads, and then poured all over the cake. The only thing I hate about these cakes that u have to consume right away, otherwise the milk will rotten the whole cake 😒
I tried it once and couldn’t go in for a second bite. Couldn’t stand the texture or lack of. I guess it wasn’t done right. Don’t see myself ever trying it again.
Latinamerica is NOT only mexico. Ecuador is waaaaay different from mexico. Ecuador is like a little Switzerland! This dessert is part of ecuadorian families! And we DO NOT EAT tortillas. Eww
Lindsay Strand~you are great at this~except for the vocal fry~you don't do it often but when you do it is SO obvious. Please listen to yourself and try to stop doing that. Please! It takes so much away from the video.
Marilyn Cardenas No creo porque lo podrías batir más de lo necesario y se te puede hundir o quebrar, podrías intentarlo pero hazlo de poco a poco, lo puedes hacer a mano solo es un poco más de esfuerzo !

I really like the explanations you give throughout the video. You seem also so much more at ease now, even joking a bit!
Love all the little tips and facts Lindsay drops throughout the video, I always feel like I learn so much. Like, adding the melted butter down the side of the bowl, never would have thought of that on my own.

My favorite cake and dessert of all time. You did a good job.
Tres Leche cake is my absolute favorite! I'd make it every weekend if I could.
It´s really common here on Brasil. You can use coconut milk too.
I really like the video. Personally, I don't put sugar on the cake or whipped cream because it's too sweet for my family's liking. I also add vodka to the tres leches because we are all adults and we like to get drunk with cake.
Alejandra Garcia Lmao 😂
Rum would probably be better, then you’d get some flavor with your alcohol ;)

Omg I am shocked! I had been thinking about making tres leches cake all week long and I was gonna use the same recipe I always use but now I will try yours!

Yummy! Me encanto pastel de tres leches! Go girl! Making us proud
OMG! I want some. Now!
You should try it with peach slices ! It is amazing !
In the video she says 3/4 cups sugar and in the written recipe on the description box website it says 1 cup sugar so which is the correct??????????? Thank you 😊
3/4 cup sugar in the cake and 1/4 cup sugar in the whipped cream topping 3/4 + 1/4 = 1 cup sugar total
Wooow I love this cake, Ill bake it for my soons birthday next week, thanyou!!! ;)))
Grandma’s favorite cake to make
Love Tres Leches! :)♥

Ale G con todo respeto a tu opinión he comprado pastel de tres leches con fruta en varias ocaciones y en varias ciudades del país (en mexico)
Abraham Hernandez I was thinking the same! My family is from Mexico and I've never not seen this cake with fruit on top
Yum one of my favorites!

I love when they try it at the end like this. im always disappointed when they end it without trying it! hehe
Lindsay you are soooo cute !!!
Btw love the recipe 😍😍😍
Manahil Tariq ikr! The recipe looks great and so does Lindsay! 😊😋
Sweet Central yeah 😊
Can we just acknowledge how beautiful this lady is. Wow!
Omg that looks amazing. I need to try this in the next video I make.
Can I use cake flour instead of APF? thanks.
We use merengue... for topping
please tell me the exact quantity of butter in this cake you used.
What a coincidence, I just made a tres leches cake yesterday night for my mom's birthday
shreem S It's an eggless sponge

omg! I want a tres leches cak homemade!
What happends if I use self rising flour instead of all purpose
One of the best Latin American desserts!
I’ve tried to bake this following every detail and have never got it as light and fluffy like hers :(
I just made the tres leche cake
Hello folks at Everyday Food. What is the approx. measurement of the cans of condensed milk + evaporated milk you use?
condensed milk-14 fl oz. evaporated milk-12 fl oz.
Here in the U.S. the standard can of sweetened condensed milk is 14 oz. (or 396g). Evaporated milk is 12 oz. (or 354 ml). Hope this helps. :)
helpfulnatural thank you 😊
Widad Rahman You're welcome!
Can you translate on German or French or any Slovenien language these 3 sort of milk?
Beauty&Pablo Tamarini V Slovenščini...Potrebuješ sladkano kondenzirano mleko, evaporirano mleko in navadno mleko.
Tinka Grujić ♥♥♥
Where is the written recipe? Though, I want to ask how to reduce the recipe for three people?
Here’s an idea for measuring correctly.

PureGold.
It's time for America to wake up and do the right thing. Purchasing a scale is much cheaper than buying ingredients nowadays.

Just came here to see how she was gonna say Tres Leches lol
Same lol
I've been thinking...do you think I can sub the whole milk for almond milk? I just really love the flavour of almond milk
missmissingyou that will make the sugar content content higher if you do. Just fyi 😊
missmissingyou yes, you can... I make this cake frecuently instead of whole milk I add rompope... it is a licquor I buy here in México. Try it!
+Didí Lasá gracias!!! here in panamá we only have rompope and eggnog during christmas time but i'm not a big fan anyway but i know some people who would love that hahaha
+Pan Thao yeah i thought so, but it's cake and i guess i can lower the sugar on the cake maybe to balance it out a bit?
Instead of replacing the whole milk, why not just add a small amount of almond extract to get the almond flavor?
“Trace Lay Chase?”
F.L. May I know right? 😂😂😂😂
Sounds about white
F.L. May lmao
u look so pretty.
“treis leicheis” lol
All this time I thought tres leches has the milk integrated in the cake recipe itself.
great recipe - what's w/ the weird music?
you'll only be sure to be measuring correctly by weight.
This looks like a contender for the perfect Tres Leches. You really ought to chill that cake well before topping with whipped cream though. I'd use more whole milk and less cream for my taste...but this egg foam cake has piqued my interest!

Sade Life1015 or you can put it in the fridge. It's fine.
👌👌🖒🖒
كيكة الزعفران النسخه الامريكيه😹✨
هي اصلها مكسيكي بالاساس ولكل بلد نسخته منها
Watching this will make me fat since I want to make this
حظها تخبز كيك ورشيقه🤦🏻♀️😭💔
i thought she was heather west from hells kitchen .
The recipe is great but the way she pronounces tres leches is....ouch.
It's almost like she's not a fluent Spanish speaker but is a baker just trying to demonstrate how to make a cake.
who cares?
Idk how I’d feel about eating soggy cake
definitely you haven't tried a tres leches cake before
You're missing out. Especially when it's done right. It's so good!
The texture isn't soggy, the cake is extra moist and absolutely delicious.
I tried it once and couldn’t go in for a second bite. Couldn’t stand the texture or lack of. I guess it wasn’t done right. Don’t see myself ever trying it again.
And yet you watch the video... lol
Trill that 'r' woman!
Three seconds into the video and I hear 'trace late-chase' I'm done. Bye. Loooool 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can you keep it in the fridge if you want to make it up ahead of time and for how long?
who cares?
awesome recipe but its missing the cinnamon 👍👌
looks kind of dry
Learn how to pronounce tres leches......
I am latino and I can tell you, she did it great!!! It´s a difficult pronunciation when you combine R and S. She couldn´t do it better.
no one cares!
What’s with the background soundtrack???? Annoying.
I agree!
Latinamerica is NOT only mexico.
Ecuador is waaaaay different from mexico. Ecuador is like a little Switzerland!
This dessert is part of ecuadorian families!
And we DO NOT EAT tortillas. Eww
so, what is so eww about tortillas?
Yes, we do. Absolutely
You just couldn't mention "oh in my country we eat this too" but you just had to be offensive didn't you?
A little Switzerland? How? Please explain lol
Ecuador, a little Switzerland..😂😂😂..good one..👌..y Viva Mexico..🇲🇽
Lindsay Strand~you are great at this~except for the vocal fry~you don't do it often but when you do it is SO obvious. Please listen to yourself and try to stop doing that. Please! It takes so much away from the video.
?
Milk from cans are disgusting. I pass.
busybee duckling how else can you get condensed or evaporated milk?
