If you're talking about changing intel chip to AMD .... I don't think they can do that. I heard somewhere that big companies signed contracts with intel to use their products and they probably get it for the low. intel is fine, just automatically brings up the price for any system.
I guarantee you they're all aware of their issues before Dave even says a word. Trust me when a company makes products with flaws it's not because they don't know. They have to make hard decisions based on limited resources or time or whatever else is happening behind the scenes.
FR get a GF 65 with an rtx 2060 for $1,000. Or hell maybe a acer nitro 5. For $650. I feel u gaming labtops are way over priced and it sucks cause they would sell way more if they weren't greedy.
I bought an Alienware 17 R5 for 300$ with an CPU failure. Previous owner tought it was fried cause he smelled burnt. I still took the chance and open it myself and found a burnt mosfet which is repairable. Now it's running again. I manage to undervolted it to -0.200mw @ 3.8ghz which is cpu lottery winner. Now running at 70c instead of 99c.
Brad Beyers just build a pc for 500-600$ with AMD entering in the market very well, especially for Asian buyers, it’s difficult as due to tax, so I changed my Alienware 13 to Gigabyte Aero 15..maybe next switch I’m planning on building a PC..
Just got my R3 the other day, i'm loving it! I will say though I agree with you on wishing they used AMD chips instead of Intel, but regardless, they did a great job on this machine. Thoroughly impressed, runs better than my Alienware desktop lol.

(I've got it and i would absolutely not give up performance for thermals, would not have undervolted if it was unlocked but i have the i7 10750H, chose that because i didn't need an i9 and that would've just hurt the battery life and thermals for absolutely no reason, and got 2070 super because 2080 super maxq would not have been much different... it doesn't throttle either so...) And he never said the thermals were crap, he said they were "just shy" of perfect, meaning close to/almost perfect. M15 R3 is simply the absolute best choice if you want a thin and light/portable one that looks nice (looks fitting its price) and has the best keyboard, fantastic diaplay, 32gb ram, future proof specs, competitive battery life (great if you put it on 60Hz), has lots of ports including thuderbolt 3 (and the alienware external gpu thing, which performs better, if you want an external gpu in the future), feels premium (and not generic like MSI stuff), and overall is the one that has the least flaws, best overall/the most complete and versatile gaming laptop. I've had this since it came out and i just love everything about it (i guess the only thing missing is windows hello and a numpad which i like to have, windows hello is minor to me and the numbpad would have meant too many compromises, size/battery life/portability/layout/price etc because i would've had to go for m17)
You need to care about thermals, thats the point. Bad thermals mean bad performance which at $1k is ok but when you pay $3k for a laptop and get the same performance as a $2k laptop purely because the thermals are bad, you should be dissappointed. Alienware and Razer are the two most overlypriced laptops, however atleast with Razer you get a much better performing gfx card due to the thermals! Have a google of it to see what I mean. Either way if your happy with your purchase, thats great but people need to know before they spend their money on these machines.

Michael Cicchini You can be biased all you want. All the insiders know differently especially in stocks where AMD had a huge run-up after shitting on Intel. The only reason why Intel's stock is still this high is because they are a stable company. Look at the recent tests too if you want.
The same with the P series ThinkPad. It's nice the new P15 has a redesigned cooling system and all but they're still using Intel, which is one reason why I'm sticking with the P53.
Save some money and buy a thicc boi gaming laptop. The problem with products like these is that they are fragile and obvious targets for theft. 5 years in the military taught me that portability doesn't mean shit when carrying a laptop around slowly destroys it. For example, most backpacks and cases do not protect the screen from rubbing against the keyboard (ouch). You're better off buying a cheap tablet, netbook, or handheld and moving your gaming rig as infrequently as possible. Listen to me now and believe me later on.
Thermals have never been an issue for me; I'll take the performance bump any day. You're not going to game with it on your lap. Plus, you could always use a laptop fan if it's that big of a deal for you.
this thing definitely has better thermal than some other thin and light machines if it get tweaked. just not good out of the box. and still soldered ram. at least they should provide faster 3200mhz ram

That's why I love this channel. Very calming vibe, nice to listen to and gain new information. I watched this review on my Alienware M15 R3, didn't understand a tech thing he said, but still enjoyed learning about this device. I will second the flex asthetic on other laptops but I can't take this thing to uni because I need to keep it plugged in as the juice runs out so quick (just general study work). They failed to tell me about gaming laptop batteries when I bought it...

You can be biased all you want. All the insiders know differently especially in stocks where AMD had a huge run-up after shitting on Intel. The only reason why Intel's stock is still this high is because they are a stable company. Look at the recent tests too if you want.

This product has my eyes on locked but until AMD steps in I will just wait for it then, probably m15 R4 or R5 gen.
The same with the P series ThinkPad. It's nice the new P15 has a redesigned cooling system and all but they're still using Intel, which is one reason why I'm sticking with the P53.
I love the looks of Alienware products. I have an Alienware laptop from 2015,still running perfectly.
But yeah,I also want to upgrade but waiting for AMD.
Save some money and buy a thicc boi gaming laptop.
The problem with products like these is that they are fragile and obvious targets for theft.
5 years in the military taught me that portability doesn't mean shit when carrying a laptop around slowly destroys it. For example, most backpacks and cases do not protect the screen from rubbing against the keyboard (ouch).
You're better off buying a cheap tablet, netbook, or handheld and moving your gaming rig as infrequently as possible. Listen to me now and believe me later on.

Thermals have never been an issue for me; I'll take the performance bump any day. You're not going to game with it on your lap. Plus, you could always use a laptop fan if it's that big of a deal for you.
this thing definitely has better thermal than some other thin and light machines if it get tweaked. just not good out of the box. and still soldered ram. at least they should provide faster 3200mhz ram
