The IMPOSSIBLE Gaming Laptop

- Intel has made the Lightest Gaming Laptop in the world and it's impossibly good. This unit is the Mag-15 from Eluktronics
Available Here - amzn.to/2zFZ1NH
It's equipped with a fully magnesium body, an RTX 2070 MaxQ, i7-9750H, a BIG battery and great thermal performance. It's REALLY weird that they made something better than so many other big name brands.
It's lighter, a better performer and has a bigger battery than the MSI GS65, Razer Blade 15, Alienware M15. The Aero 15 has a slightly bigger battery but this is noticeably lighter.

I dunno HOW they did it. But they did. Intel just dropped some serious hardware. Thanks for watching!
Isn't there anything better than 9750H for laptops now? Excluding the X and XE series.

Just one thing to note:
That little plastic section you mentioned on each side is actually the location of the WiFi 6 antennae. Magnesium alloy would cause interference of the wireless radio otherwise.

This is a slap to the face of the bigger brands.
But the razer blade 15 is looking way better and that's what many people look for so this won't be the choice for editor's or people like that whats kinda sad. More weight would be ok for me for a cleaner and more quality kinda look. I am a gamer and music producer and i want to have both but the blade 15 still is my first choice just because it looks better. This laptop right here is more of a: I don't care how it looks, I will take it to the next hotel room, set it up and play thing. You wont rlly use it in public I think so I don't know but it's definitely a cool and very nice laptop.
Edit: If you want to say something, read every answer before you write something please. Maybe it's already answered :)
@@theodor872 What do you mean? This looks like a normal laptop, it's literally just a black laptop with a logo on it.
@@estebanbrugal5100 Yea and thats it. I actually think that it looks better then most other gaming laptops out there and the advantages of that laptop are incredible good. No doubt.
But if they would have made it more like a macbook kinda look and body it would get more attention I think. Like this many people prefer more heavy but also more high quality feeling laptops.
I just think they should have looked out for these people too with maybe an extra version of this laptop or smth like this.
I don't want to know how much attention it would get then.
It doesn't have absurd thermals, don't let Dave's inability to test stuff properly fool you. Everything else you stated is correct. Thermals are in the high 80s going to 90s and throttle back down. As for looks, looks just as nice as the black razer. If it came in a silver would look better.
@@creaturecore13 Idc about the thermals for now. I just say they are normal.
But it does not look like a razer blade. The razer blade just looks smoth and this one looks like a completely normal laptop. Its not looking high quality build or even better then any other laptop from the teachers in school (yea its not plastic but still doesn't look that good).
That plastic bit was never a speaker cutout, its for wifi and BT signals, laptops that have full metal body, such as my yoga c930 has similar plastic cutouts
Those antennae are often under/around the screen to avoid this issue. Apple mounts theirs under the hinge for the same reason.
@@philsburydoboy they actually clarified that is because of the antena , magnesium creates interference with the wifi so they had to use plastic otherwise
Magnesium... Very corrosive to other metals

Holy shit. Dave has seen tons of laptops. Bad ones, good ones, and everything in between. If you somehow manage to impress Dave with thermals, then you did something amazing
dave doesn't know anything about thermals lol, that's like the one area where he is unreliable. See the alienware m15 video for reference
Eh, it’s an obvious ad. Everything on RUclips is these days.
I own an Asus Zephyrus, with amazing reviews all across the internet and I can tell you this generation of gaming laptops is fucked up, the 8th or 9th Intel generation cpus are way too hot for gaming in these chassis (at least with the 1070 I have). Don't get me wrong, you can play and play with smooth and high FPS but at the cost of unholy fan noise and throttling for many games. Yes, you can downvolt and install liquid metal but that will just improve the situation a little bit, I think the technology is not good enough yet to achieve proper gaming experience, at least in my opinion.
Maybe this is the first laptop that does not throttle a lot but as previously said, Dave is not reliable in the thermals, the Alienware is a great example or also the very same Zephyrus I own, he runs a simple benchmark once and maybe he is in a 20ºC room, which is not realistic for many people.
@@corentin2638 What are you talking about? He got Apple, a trillion dollar company to its knees when he reported the shitty thermals on the new Mac.

2:29 I haven't seen a 3.5 mic jack in so long
I haven’t seen that in years meme
Okay, as someone who's tired of the gamer-ey design that is super outlandish, I'm in love with this design aesthetic. Simple, understated, no weird cut off corners or angled shapes, and a nice thin bezel. The only thing I'm not a super-fan of is the keyboard. A more generic design would be perfect to me, because it would match the rest of the laptop a bit better.
As far as the magnesium alloy frame goes, I wish all laptops in this price range were built to this standard. Plastic laptops feel in many cases like they're engineered to fail at the hinges and other weak points.
Remember when Apple made an all TITANIUM MacBook Pro? Good times.
Eh, I'd still like *some* pizazz in a gaming laptop personally. This to me looks "understyled."
Other than that this laptop is seriously impressive.
Plastic is fine as long as the price is right. The problem comes when manufacturers try to cut too much cost, and the frame gets too bendy.
For the keyboard I mean you can always turn off the RGB or set it to 1 color. I think the keyboard is as generic as it gets really. My problem is that fucking eluktronics logo on top of the keyboard. If this exact laptop was made by razer with same design, specs and price, I would have bought it by now.
Look up----> big picture project . net←---read “the Present”. What it says can turn this world right side up from the very beginning of it. It is all truth you can check for yourself. I def would recommend.

The Mag-15 base model is $150 more than the Lenovo y740 which has a 1tb m.2 drive (not the slow 512mb intel 660p m.2 drive which is in the Mag-15), 2060 graphics, brighter screen, and has service centers in my country.
The downside is the Lenovo has only 57wh battery, half that of the Mag-15 (it can be replaced with a 74wh one though), it's 1.5lb heavier when the massive power brick is included and has the special keys which mess up the keyboard.
But for $150 price difference I can get the 74wh battery and a very decent Bluetooth speaker.
I hope Lenovo takes some ideas from the mag-15 like magnesium alloy body, huge battery, and standard keyboard.

I checked the price on Amazon, and I noticed that the price difference between the 1660ti and the 2070 model is only $300. For same 16/512 configuration you pay 1499 and 1799 for them. Usually you spend $500-600 jump form 1660ti to 2070. The price on the 2070 is so good that made the 1660ti model looks overpriced.
