This style would be great in the mid range, too. I'd look very closely at any mid range that would do it, because another benefit of separating the keyboard is to be more comfortable while seated for extended periods, and anything to improve temps could be accepted. All it needs is a mouse somewhere that can pop out: but, I'd be just as happy bringing my own USB mouse. It is acceptable to have a higher weight in a gaming laptop in my situation. I wouldn't carry it much, but if that plan changed, no big deal: I could use the workout. As far as power in a laptop: I never expect to be gaming without AC power. I'll use it but to look at maps and such, look up phone numbers, and it can run at lower power on integrated graphics. I can game in a hotel room.
Honestly Asus is super smart for removing the webcam. No one uses it lol and even if someone needed a camera they would probably use an external one a way of theyre serious about it
If you’re the shy and reserved type, you’ll know all too well that the ‘one size fits all’ approach of most networking tips can leave you feeling more daunted than self-assured. However meeting and engaging new people isn’t just an extrovert’s game. These confidence-boosting tips will have you making contacts, impressing colleagues and winning people over in no time, in your own way. Do your prep If you find that you get a little nervous talking to new people at events, it’s a good idea to do some prep beforehand. Prepare some general open-ended questions such as “How did you get started in your line of work?” and “What do you enjoy most about what you do?”. On the way to each event, think of some interesting things to share about yourself, your experience, and your job to help keep the conversation flowing. If you’re really stuck, do a quick news search and grab the headlines for the day to make sure you’re not drawing a blank if weather, sports or current affairs come up in conversation. Introvert's guide to networking Make networking a habit The more networking situations you put yourself in, the easier it becomes. Instead of constantly debating whether you’ll attend a networking or social event, make a deal with yourself that you’ll attend at least two events a month. It doesn’t matter if it’s a casual Friday night work drinks or a big conference - every event has networking potential. If there’s nothing planned for the next fortnight, make an effort to invite a work colleague or acquaintance out for coffee or lunch. Use being a good listener to your advantage You don’t necessarily have to be the loudest or most talkative person in the room to build a connection with someone. Introverts are often excellent listeners, which in turn leads to them asking more thoughtful questions. This can work to your advantage as people are much more likely to enjoy talking to someone who is listening and displaying genuine interest in what they have to say, as opposed to someone who just steers the conversation to themselves. Give yourself permission to leave Extended periods of social interaction can often be draining for introverts. To help combat this, give yourself a set time frame to stay at any networking event. Once your allocated time is up assess how you’re feeling. If you’re enjoying yourself, hang around for a bit longer. If not, you won’t feel guilty about leaving. It’s far better to stay at an event with maximum energy for a small period of time as opposed to forcing yourself to stay for hours and trying to engage people when you’re mentally exhausted. Time your networking If you know you’re at your best in the morning then arrange to meet a new contact for breakfast as opposed to a drink after work. Strategically timing your networking events will yield better results as you’re much more likely to build a good rapport with someone when you’re feeling lively and energetic. Utilise technology Not all networking has to be done face-to-face. You can join online groups to meet new people within your field and if you’re studying, be sure to utilise online forums to keep in contact with your fellow students. Also, don’t underestimate the power of networking with existing contacts. Make the effort to stay in touch with former tutors and lecturers, work colleagues, mentors, and employers via email and professional networks. Staying top of mind of your existing network could lead to new opportunities later on. Aim for quality not quantity If you walk away from an event with fewer contacts compared to your more extroverted colleagues, don’t let it get you down. When it comes to networking, remember that it’s about quality not quantity. It’s far more beneficial to your career in the long run if you have a few quality contacts that you’re able to dedicate time to establishing a solid professional connection with, as opposed to having an overflowing address book of people you may have spoken to once and never contacted again.

I think he means whether or not it has to be directly plugged into a wall to work. Laptops have an internal battery and therefore are portable; desktops don’t, so they can generally be used in only one place unless you like to frequent LAN parties.
@@kelethutoneikha4754 I mean this is the question you should ask instead of "is this a 'desktop'" although you could argue this is not a laptop, as no one in their right mind would use it on their lap
any laptop with those same specs would be very uncomfortable as a laptop anyways. most people who buy a beastly machine like that are NOT using it all over town, they're using it as a mobile desktop going between a few work environments and their home office, so that level of usability isn't much of a concern. someone who is actually always on the go and needs a REALLY mobile machine would opt for something much more thin and light that sacrifices performance for efficiency and battery life
Yes, I think just about everyone and their mother has noticed this by now. Is there such a need to point this out in every video or are people just learning about press embargoes?

If you’re the shy and reserved type, you’ll know all too well that the ‘one size fits all’ approach of most networking tips can leave you feeling more daunted than self-assured. However meeting and engaging new people isn’t just an extrovert’s game.
These confidence-boosting tips will have you making contacts, impressing colleagues and winning people over in no time, in your own way.
Do your prep
If you find that you get a little nervous talking to new people at events, it’s a good idea to do some prep beforehand.

It's not a stationary device, though. For folks that don't need to move around, there's no reason to pick this over a regular desktop (be it an all-in-one or tower).
sunny shrivastava how can it me an iMac killer, when it’s not even close to what an iMac is? To even compare this to all in ones is stupid.
@@purpletomato5535 it's a portable all in one with bonkers config and proper cooling , imac is is not portable ,it's not upgradable ,the graphics option sucks , it heats up , so yeah it might not make a dent for the people who just want the Mac ecosystem but for a person migrating from windows and Mac was an option , it's not anymore
Mothership gave birth to zephrus
nividh libang nice joke
HAHAHAHA
That copper or brass with black looks very luxurious and pleasing to me, when I saw that Nokia phone with a same color palette I was like dang beauty
lol Linus was not allowed to even see the GPU specs... and Dave here got the entire motherboard and of course just opened the Nvidia cpanel to see the rest of the gpu specs...🤣🤣🤣🤣
it's because Linus is dick head ;P
Linus would have dropped it.

even at 3 k you can get an 8700k RTX 2080 an acer x34p or asus pg348q, its still not worth it to get a gaming laptop over a desktop
@@GrizzlyHD277 thank you for re instating the most cliche statement. Its about the form factor and portability you pay for. In 2019 the performance gap is closer than ever

Is this really portable though? It's easier to move than a desktop but it's still enormous.
And I wanna ask is this laptop or desktop.?
It's a hybrid
Classified as a laptop. The same way large gaming laptops are still laptops
there are business people need to carry a desktop around
and this mothership design makes complete sense to them
It’s a laptop as it doesn’t need external power.
@@chasemcdougall602 but you also have portable PC though and pocket PC that doesn't need external power but DEFINITELY are not laptops.
The price will be a huge issue, but the mothership concept is exactly what I've always wanted. A portable computer that can be easily stored and cleaned up (perfect for those using computers without offices or dedicated computer desks)
I love this guy! Probably the best laptop reviewer on the planet. Videos are well thought out and concise, clearly grabbing people's attention every second. I know making videos and editing every week is pretty tough, but how about making a daily blog like Casey Neistat? Maybe that would bring more people into your channel? I mean you totally deserve more than 1.9 million subscribers. Anyway almost 2 million, GOOD LUCK Dave! 10/10 Tech RUclips Channel, period.
So the Amazon link to the Mothership gave me a page with Yamaha brake & clutch levers, car hangar & and an optical infrared sensor.
Those are the spare parts to the mothership.

*GTX 2080*
wow, a new technology!
Me: iam gonna get that
Also me: looks at price
Also me: yea this is not for me
Now all we need is a high powered budget lineup of gaming laptops
Can we make that a desktop with 25" screen that is also fold up and fit in a purse?
What is "high powered" and "budget"?
@Anthony Mendenhall LMAO that is never happening
stop complaining you little bitch, save up some cash and just buy it, theres never ever ever gonna be something with power and cheap, its basic economics, not feasable in the fucking slightest
You can't have "high powered laptop" and say "budget" in the same sentence. That's not how this works.
This way of opening a laptop = Surface Laptop 2. (Or Surface Pro with Keyboard Cover) ;) I'm really glad they solved the thermals and as I commented on your other video, nobody makes Scissor keyboards like they did 15 years ago, so this compares favorably to e.g. the foldable Dells I've been looking at to put a proper keyboard in front of. +1 :)
Dude that’s so damn cool. Like honestly man this laptop made me so happy even though I know I won’t be able to afford it.
*you forgot to sbow the cnc machined aluminum heatshields* 😬
There is no way to say it how unnecessary a webcam is to a gaming laptop... That notebook is absolutely perfect, definitely in my dream list.
Where's the line between desktop and laptop? 🤔
Does it have a battery?
@@diegosanchez894 of course it does.
I think he means whether or not it has to be directly plugged into a wall to work. Laptops have an internal battery and therefore are portable; desktops don’t, so they can generally be used in only one place unless you like to frequent LAN parties.
Razer Blade Pro
@@kelethutoneikha4754 I mean this is the question you should ask instead of "is this a 'desktop'" although you could argue this is not a laptop, as no one in their right mind would use it on their lap
I love seeing how proud he is about the Mothership “Laptop”. I am, too. Keep it cool, Asus.
The detachable keyboard is just awesome for gaming. Now you can have your keyboard tilted relative to the screen when you gaming
It's not a LAPtop its an all-in-one with a battery in it.
Well you wouldn't want to use a gaming laptop on your lap either.
any laptop with those same specs would be very uncomfortable as a laptop anyways. most people who buy a beastly machine like that are NOT using it all over town, they're using it as a mobile desktop going between a few work environments and their home office, so that level of usability isn't much of a concern. someone who is actually always on the go and needs a REALLY mobile machine would opt for something much more thin and light that sacrifices performance for efficiency and battery life
You are the best laptop reviewer!!!!
Best intro ever.I like how nice and short it is just like this video.4 min and everything said.Good job.
2:10 - looks like a Dent at left top corner -_-
Calling it a laptop is a disgrace to laptops
Other than that, this is a beast
No point of this video without performing test and pricing other than that excelente work David!
Everybody is talking about this ‘laptop’ first Linus, then Austin , now Dave.
William Rugendyke
Asus sent out these samples to them and in exchange they HAVE TO release these review on this exact date n time
The video publishing embargo was lifted just a little ago.
Yes, I think just about everyone and their mother has noticed this by now. Is there such a need to point this out in every video or are people just learning about press embargoes?
LUL just looked at your profile. Explains your comment
@@XZagatoX what do you mean?
On one hand: I really love these videos, because I like how you introduce the stuff!
On the other hand I don't really like these videos, becaus after a video like that, I just thinking about why I don't have enough money to buy all of these products.
(Sry for my english)
that mechanism for airflow is so useful. I always prop up my XPS 15 when i game, especially when i have it closed.
This is dope!
2:09 WTF is that hole in the top left of the laptop? Did you drop that masterpiece on the ground or you just made a toughness test video about this laptop too?
It's a nice play to show such a different product without a price tag. We stay with the impression that it's a nice product without the feeling that we'd never be able to buy one.
After buying what now
Resell it
Test how strong
-Drop it from a building 1000ft off the ground-
I'm fine with my gaming laptop that has a 1050Ti lol,not gonna buy a pc for a while...😢
Im rocking the Acer Predator Laptop with i7 and 1050Ti and im probably going to keep it for like 5 years since it runs new Games on 60-100 FPS maxed out and my main Game wich is Counterstrike gets up to 420 FPS.

its been 8 months the mothership hasnt even been released yet...
Obivously alot of testing and benchmarking needed before releasing a product like this
If mothership sells for less than 3500 cad im buying it.
that is so freaking cool
How about the Alienware area 51m?
The little dots going to the logo looked like aliens going to a mothership
How do you even put that _laptop_ on your lap
If you mean cause of thermals, a laptop tray.
You put the keyboard on your lap 😂
