What is the 10% brightness of the 2000nit mod? Is there any difference if I did the mod on standard s90c or a converted s90c to an s95c? Like ABL changes etc.
10% brightness of the 2000 nits mod is about 1330 nits, so that's not significantly different. Note that brightness on larger windows is decreased over stock with the 2000 nit mod as a side effect of using HM pat peak w. of 185 to correct PQ EOTF tracking. There is a massive difference if you do this on a standard S90C without a mod and then it requires different HM peak values. I'd recommend only to do such mods when you've converted an S90C to an S95C or on an actual S95C (they're the same). ABL doesn't change
Where are you getting that info from? Did you measure it yourself? I watched a Spanish speaking channel, AVpassion, that said peak was 2000 below 10% and 310 nits full screen using ANA PEAK1 and 2 1023. One question. I have the S95C in 65 inches and I use the Anapeak 1023 mod. But my problem is this. It cant be correct, with the 190 setting, that my S95C tonemaps up to 3500 nits.
Windows HDR Calibration doesn't show the clipping point correctly until you load certain games, in which the TV actually uses HGIG. Cyberpunk 2077 is an example. Just run it, then alt tab out of it and then look at the clipping point. It should be near 2000 nits. Also, don't use HM Pat Peak W at 190 because you'll drop the brightness on larger areas (which is also noticable in games). use 185 or use ANA PEAK 875 with HM Pat Peak W of 169 for 1750 nits peak brightness with no drop in full field brightness. For HDR Auto is BT2020 and Native seems to have higher color saturation because the calibration or lack there of is different making less saturated colors appear more saturated that what they're supposed to, while also having a different direction in hue like the difference that happens when targeting a different color space
You could make a comparison between the c1 and a qd oled with the blue light filter turned on on the c1. Yeah no doubt the qd oleds are still superior color wise but the blue light is too strong on woleds compared to qd oleds imo and that washes out the colors apart from the white subpixel.
Just a small reminder for everyone that's willing to mess with the service menu: You will not be able to file a warranty claim if anything bricks your TV while using the service menu. And be warned, just turning on or off a seemingly simple option can permanently disable either HDMI ports, functionalities or the whole motherboard/panel can be bricked beyond fixable.
I'm trying to learn and show what each of the options do so that doesn't happen. Fear comes from not knowing enough. About the warranty, if you do a reset the only trace remaining is the reset, they won't know anything else if you bring everything back to default.
one word of caution regarding samsung warranty, at least my 1 experience, i had s95b die on me after 3 months. error was that the tv power cycled showing a second of single line of pixels. i saw that error on yt videos so i thought its a common thing. they denied my warranty on claims that the the panel was physically damaged even though i sent them a perfectly undamaged tv aside from that error. i did use the service menu, but that never came up. i got the s95d now, but im a bit worried to do it again.

You could make a comparison between the c1 and a qd oled with the blue light filter turned on on the c1. Yeah no doubt the qd oleds are still superior color wise but the blue light is too strong on woleds compared to qd oleds imo and that washes out the colors apart from the white subpixel.
The camera exaggerates that, It doesn't look like that in person. I'll change my camera settings in real time in another video to show that
@plasmatvforgaming9648 ok
Just a small reminder for everyone that's willing to mess with the service menu:
You will not be able to file a warranty claim if anything bricks your TV while using the service menu.
That's messed up. If the panel was not physically damaged, how can they say otherwise
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 i never had issues before with any of my samsung products, so imagine my suprise... guess it was damaged by them or in shipping but either way i got bent over for 2000e. im not in the US so they have some domestic repair shop authorized to do the work for samsung here. after that i talked to official samsung employee to make a complaint but even he was very rude. they did offer to replace the panel at my expense, at price more than the tv could be found at discount.
Can u do Sony a95L next
If Sony sends it to me, I'd like to
The A95L was almost 3x the price I paid for the S95C having the same panel
With Sony you can't turn off the dimming or get more brightness on the service menu
Do you know why the advanced option doesn't appear in the service menu? It only goes up to ADC/WB. How can I activate it?
Find “Cal data restore” i think it’s in SVC - other settings. Remove any USB drive if it’s connected to TV. (Not necessary but a precaution) Click it and press confirm OK. Go back, Advanced will show up. Highlight it. Hold volume Up button on smart remote for 7 seconds or press 0098 with normal remote.
Thanks for helping! I didn't know that
@ I’m in Europe so maybe things are different in US but I’m also entering in Service menu with normal Samsung remote Info+Menu+Mute+Power
@ Thanks for great content and keep fighting for Motion Clarity
Actually it didn't work for me, I could never find the cal data restore but I used another method to get into the service menu , who was info + factory and then the advanced option appears , thanks for the heads up
My S95D is very bright. But i am curious as to how bright i can make it
3000 nits.u need service remote
From 1600 to 3000 nits, almost 2x!
@plasmatvforgaming9648 good god. That would be insanity 😆
@@ehenningsen actually it's up to 3100 nits
Where can I find the hack to the s95d service menu
how come you've not chosen to compare it to LG G4? Serious question
He probably doesn't have it
Because I don't have a G4. It cost almost 3x what I paid for this S95C
Not everyone is rich
The g4 is garbage, horribble banding, Magenta tint, vertical line in the middle, Always on light sharpening and contrast enhancement, noise in dark areas, color saturation in bright scenes isnt good.
Keeping my qn90b as long as ces 2025 doesnt present any good Qdoled from Samsung (2000nits)
@@taxi1975 "color saturation in bright scenes isnt good." yeah because WOLED washes out colour with the white OLED lol, another reason why QDOLED is undisputed when it comes to colour luminosity and another cool thing is that they have perfect panel uniformity
my lg c2 look so good in sdr with pc :3 nice for my ayes also ! and temp of my room
Yeah, the more videos and comparations i see, it just reminds me how good LG is. I will definitely go for G4 and 5year panel guarantee. There's reson why lg and sony are at top of the game.
The G4 is a very solid TV
I have C3 + S90C side by side for more than a week now. Prior to these had the 65 C1 for a year and a half. The colors on the samsung are really saturted, just like samsungs smartphones. Really-really nice. And the sdr brightness is much better. Like it says +100 nits over the LG-s 400.
I am completly sold on QD-OLED. I dont understand people who prefer LG anymore. The hype is real!
but the s95c double the price of c4 lg in my country
How about the S90C? At this point the S90C should have the same 2nd gen QDOLED panel
I already checked out the C4 one, specifically the 42 inch variant because it's the cheapest oled panel i can get, tho I know the QD OLED is far more superior, ig i prefer value for money
TTTTRRREEEEEEE!!!
Man I worry about videos like this that Samsung might see it then clamp down on the service menu. Do you have to be so explicit lol. Maybe just a vague reference to the avs forums instead of all the step by step instructions in the description and let people find it for themselves if they are that interested?? I just worry >
Yeh that's right difference between Peak w vs HM Pat Peak w. Plus is Active vs Static. Yeh can't do real time testing cause it dims, that is annoying.
Samsung won't care about this channel at all, we're still invisible for them.
What difference would it makenif I change the HDMI EDID? Will it make HDR10+ auto detect 2000 instead of 1200? That would be great!
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 yes exactly that
@@rasa4512 theres no use case for HDR10+ over HDR10 for gaming right? bc you either use the panel peak that is set in Windows HDR Calibration or using an in-game HDR slider. In both cases, you won't be able to benefit from dynamic metadata bc the game itself already tonemaps it to your display based on the peak you tell it, no?
Estimated lifespan 1 year XD
I don't beleive so, the way you use the TV is key and I'm an expert babysitter
@plasmatvforgaming9648 I'm expecting a " I broke my s95c" video in a few months XD
And one week later TV blows up😅
😂 I don't believe so
😂 party over if you're comparing it to lg c1, the c4 is out
This S95C has almost 2x the brightness of the C4
c1 and c4 have the same brightness and panel
@@speedtree c4 is nearly as bright as g2 .. about 200 nits brighter than c1
@@holgerbahr8961 and that's only if it was a 1st gen c1, the 2nd batches also had evo panels. So really only the processor got improved which might equate to what 100 nits more or so?
@@rasa4512 processor should not euqate into any nits at all .. perhaps better black level detail and overall fine tuning options for a slightly better picture
