Connect the watch to the app, set it up and turn it on Airplane mode when you are done. When you need to use any of the smart features or sync the time, simply turn off Airplane mode and connect the watch. This works really well if you have multiple colors/watches that use this app. You only need to select the watch you want then turn off Airplane mode. Choose "Time Adjust" and then "Bluetooth" to reconnect watch.
You're spot on about this watch. I think if they add solar capability and maybe limit some of the smart functions, it would be a no-brainer for many people
To me it’s not about battery cost. It’s about water resistance. By opening a watch once a year you compromise its water resistance unless you replace the gasket every time and pressure test it. How many people do that with their Casios? I don’t even know if you can buy a case back gasket for Casio. In a solar powered watch that problem doesn’t exist :) That’s why I find solar option pretty valuable, and it’s important especially in Casio models with those tiny little screws that are holding case back in place.

I'm with you on the solar. I waited to get a Casioak for the same purpose, but I don't get the hype about atomic time. The Bluetooth syncing keeps you scarily accurate already, but adds multiple other functions, so I don't know why you'd want to pay more to do less. If your phone has a constant internet connection wouldn't it be synced to an atomic clock just like the casio multiband? Still new to this stuff so is there a bigger benefit to multiband other than not needing a phone?
@spinozasdreams True, but I do not need vibration and louder alarm. (btw, in the meantime I got a new one for 75 Eur at a sale). Still, the only cool thing about the watch is the mega bright negative screen. And the bluetooth thing, along with the missing solar, really sucks😀

Would definitely pick this up... if it were solar. I try to avoid smart watches at all costs, but this has just the very maximum amount of "smart" that I could deal with. Love the display. Add solar (with a similar price point) and I'm in!
@@zachyeoman4693 Not sure about lasting for 15 years. But it sure does last longer than non-solar batteries. Also depending on the new features i.e bluetooth function
I got the Black version that is also the UK version sold in the USA. The large numbers and it's esthetics were the selling points. This is my 1st G-Shock. I use it as a watch, the running features don't apply to me. A solar powered version would have been great. I work at the local airport and have logged in 30,000 steps in a single day. Bought this in September as a belated August birthday present to myself. The watch's G-Shock toughness saved my wrist from a serious fracture at work, as it was the only thing protecting me from two colliding steel luggage carts. Not a scratch to the watch. I did have a slight imprint of the wrist band in my skin for the rest of the day along with some temporary numbness and tingling. Worth every penny of the 150.00 dollars I paid for it.
Man, I love that high contrast display. I'm used to being frustrated with the reverse contrast LCD screen. I'd love to see that in the DW/GW5600. I don't want to pay the extra for the "Move" features in it.
i've owned mine for about 5 months now... and i absolutely love the features and the display, what i was surprised more by was my enjoying the use of the bluetooth functions and getting alerts to messages and calls and such. as a g-shock i know i have something concrete and dependable, but seriously the display is killer 9/10 would recommend 100%

This is the best watch show on RUclips by a wide margin. Us Mad watch collectors will always love you Russ! Enjoy the family vacation. Much peace and love brother
Just got mine - went the blue as well, absolutely LOVE it! Not bothered about all the sporty functions just wanted that amazing screen and super cool case - definitely a winner ! :)
I've got a red one of these and absolutely love it. I don't use the Bluetooth features or the step counter really. But it has the best negative display I've seen and I really love how big the numerals are on the main screen. The big numbers plus the back-light make it a perfect sleeping watch for me.
Can you actually switch off the notifications and remain the other Bluetooth functions working? I heard that Bluetooth version can ping back the phone and play a sound on the phone when you can not find one, is this a function of this watch as well or its only in DWB-B5600G ?
The step counter is the feature I like the most. I use that a lot! It's the only thing I miss on my square G-Shock. Wish the classic ones could have that and these do! Just in a bigger case.
Great point my friend! I’m not sure how accurate it is ! I did a few test where I ran without moving my arms and then when I did and the readings were different but still!
Got my first Casio a month ago a GM-2100MF-5AER, since then I have added a GMW-B5000D-1ER and a GW-M5610U-1ER and now just ordered the GBD-200-2ER today and you are responsible lol. Fair to say you ain't my wifes favourite youtuber!!
I bought one of these 10 days ago (the off-white one) and I really like it. I've disconnected all the notifications, and just use the Bluetooth to sync the time. It's one of the very few G-Shocks that you set to vibrate for the alarms and countdown timer -- a huge plus in noisy places (like the kitchen). It can't replace the GW-5000 in my heart, but I'm likely to wear it more.
Hi mate. The GBD-H1000 is basically a GBD-200 with solar charging, plus other features such as GPS and a heart rate sensor. It has the same fantastic display. I have 4 in different colours. My favourite is the newer red and black colourway (gbd-h1000-4a1) but they have quite a few different colours.
so i just bought a gwm5610u for the first time. got it today in the mail. i’ve had the gbd200 for just over a year i think, with every feature on, notifications, vib, beep, auto light most nights. all these features have been on the entire time, for over a year and it’s still good. i’m trying to kill the battery just to see how long it will last. but now my new daily on my wrist is the 5610u, and it will be for some time 😏
points to Casio for trying to balance its core features with newer functions of smartwatches (maybe they'll find a happy balance one day?) First, thanks for doing this review. I am very interested in how they expand on the design/color choices with this model. Second, if they can make this indistructable, they can make it solar!!! Lastly, I would be curious to see your long-term review on this to see if your opinion changes.
Bought mine when they first came out. Bought it with good intentions trying to shift a bit of lockdown weight. Wore it for about a week and it’s been in the drawer ever since!
I've had a few hybrid watches in the past that run a similar battery. Having the watch connected to my phone all the time I would get about 6 months out of the battery. Connecting the watches every few months just to sync the time id get the 2 years. Most likely picking this one up 👍 Optimus primes head for sure
Hahahaha thank you for watching my friend! Yeah the battery life is poor but if you take your phone for instance it’ll run out of battery after 2 days! So with a screen like this and the functions/connectivity it’s not bad!
The lime green one is the pick of the bunch! I've had one for about 6 months and I love it! The display is probably the best I've seen on a G-SHOCK, VERY easy to read.
I love the clear, large numeral display! Not interested in Bluetooth or step counter. (You should have worn it on your racket arm, LOL). Yes, solar would make this a "must have." Casio's website suggests the 100 can trace distance using GPS but displayed only on your phone. Can this also be true of the 200? That would be a killer function at this price point!!
Hello, I’ve got two of those models in my collection mainly because of the awesome display. But what I definitely do not like is the “new way” to set the watch after using Casio’s since the late 70’s and G-Shock’s since the early 90’s, I’m quite lost in my rotation. Also the countdown timer which I use a lot (for cooking) is a pain in a neck to quickly set. My dream watch would be this amazing display (which for me is the future of digital watches), with solar power, a real stop watch and the “traditional” idiot proof way to set the watch.
Well your infectious enthusiasm for Casio has finally tipped me over the edge. I bought 3 today from Francis & Gaye. Got the yellow GA-B2100 for myself and treated my twin 17 year old boys to the murdered out version. No accounting for their taste...😂
Absolutely love this channel , just literally treated myself to this watch featured . I wanted the blue but I ended up with the grey BGD 200 UU 9ER . Back in the day I had a data bank watch , I saved for months and bought it in Tenerife, the buttons on the front were flat rather like a ZX81 type keypad . On the plane it all bubbled up lol . Happy days!
I own the G-Lide GBX-100 which uses this same module, I bought it in 2021…..the battery is still going strong even with the Bluetooth on. G-Shocks are surprising
I agree the 5610 is quite boss, but I'm surprised you haven't switched over to the 5610-U. Besides the backlight changing to an awful white led instead of the good old famous green luminescence. It has so many cool upgrades. Being able to run a stopwatch or countdown timer and still see the current actual time is something I've been waiting for in a G-Shock solar atomic square for quite a long time. Your videos are really well done, keep up the great work! I appreciate the content!
backlight was very battery consuming and fading by time. 1.5 seconds lit vs 3 senconds for LED, if i'm not wrong. I find going LT (LED) a good step vs EL. Old is more glamorous, but less practical, imho. x d
One more thing about the display is that it is a reflective light display (as opposed to backlight display), so the more you exposed the display to the light (eg; sunlight), the more legible the display becomes!
I got the g-lide which is essentially the same exact watch, just with a metal bezel, and it tells the tide, moon, and what time the sun comes up and down. It was a bit fiddly with connecting via Bluetooth, and the notifications were very annoying, I got EVERY SINGLE NOTIFICATION. I hate that I couldn't change it to only text messages, or important notifications. So I just turned off notifications. I prefer the vibration over the loud beep, more discreet while changing settings during class or in any quiet place where you don't want to interrupt the quietness. The 200m water resistantce is really nice while snorkeling, scuba diving, or any other water sport. In my own opinion, the g-lide (gbx-100) models of g-shock a 8.5/10.
Been having my eye on this watch since their release. Casio really has a winner with this one, well done all around! Retro-Modern for sure 😂 Great show, Russell!
@@jeffreylebowski1240 no still haven't pulled the trigger. It appears as though I've started getting into vintage and that's where my money disappears to 😂
I agree, i have the same opinion like you. I like the appearance and the screen, these are the reasons that i would buy this watch. Also i have the GW-M5610, and i like it a lot, and i wear it every day, and i subscribed because i like your style.
Hello, I like your style and your review. In relation to the GBD-100 and 200 models, I expect Casio to make some improvements (features that used to be on older models), like including 1/100 second stopwatch and activating auto light simply by holding the light button for 2 seconds), and the function stays as long as I need (not just for 12 hours), and of course include solar power.
I've been using the GBX-100 for a week now. I've borrowed it from a friend bacause i wanted to try some of the smartwatch functions.... and it's pretty horrible i must say. But I love the design, the screen and the overall g-shock vibe. I already have 4 g-shocks and am looking for a 5th one. I currently have the following g-shocks: DW-004 G-LIDE GW-7900B-1ER GW-A1100-1AER GWG-2000-1A3ER Great video! Thank you 😊
Got this exact model a month or so ago. I just loved the design and mip display linking it to my phone for running works well. Strap is great. There are some annoying parts of the module like the auto light only lasting 6 hours.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR yep if they made this solar and upgraded the middle it'd be awesome. I love the mip display and how it's so legible in any light so great for training.
they said you need to set the auto light everyday? you can't make a schedule? I'm ok with the 6hr limit coz you see you only need auto light mode from probably 6pm to 12noon. unless you are still awake 12noon past. then you need more. lol but setting it everyday is just shit.
Excellent review, great details, right to the point, excellent sense of humor as it kept me entertained and tuned in to watch from start to finish. I’ve just made the purchase on this watch as I’m happy to have watched your review after the purchase, makes me feel confident and comfortable to collect and Sport another Casio G-Shock. thank you so much for your time upon sharing this review… A+all the way.
Great review. I almost bought the GBD200 based on your review, but got the GBX100 instead. I liked the aesthetics better. Much better looking than the GBD200. Same MIP display, step/activity counter, dual time, Bluetooth connection plus a moon/tide graph. I only use the Bluetooth connection to sync the time to my phone, but I disabled the notifications and semi-smart watch functions. It took me a while to get used to it, but I love the watch. My only gripe is that you can't set the seconds when setting the time manually. You have to pair it to your phone so it can time sync. Aside from that, it's one of my fave G-Shocks.
Great review mate! Like most others here, I'd by it in a heartbeat IF it goes solar. Don't need all that fitness stuff on my watch, if I wanted that, I'd buy a Fitbit...or something 🙄 Love just about everything else about this watch. 👍
Great review Russ, haven’t seen any other reviews on this watch. That screen is pretty sweet. I think if G Shock is looking to take away some of Apple’s customers, more user friendly notifications and solar power would definitely make people look at this. Not having to charge a smart watch every night would definitely be a benefit. 👍🏻
The display on these is awesome but swapping out the battery every 12 months would be annoying. So come on casio pull your fingers out and give us a solar version 😉
The fluorescent green one with the screen or the blue one with the screen are almost perfect, save the notifications. I have a black GBD-800 but recently bought the JDM version in yellow with black - makes me think of Empacher racing boats. I wanted a yellow Casio step counter but if only it had the screen of the GBD-200. Man, Casio’s the best. Love that display case!
I love the cyberpunkish style it has, like a HUD on your screen that monitors your stats. And this watch is the most comfortable watch I own, probably the only watch I can wear during workouts. Went with the black one, it's a killer.
This is an awesome G-Shock the only turn off for me was the absence of a tough solar option, it could have been more awesome if casio had given the tough solar option as well
Do you have any experience with the solar function on Casio watches? I'm tied between this and the 5610, but I work inside more than outside so I'm not sure if the solar would be much of a benefit to me. I prefer the better screen of the 200 as well.
@@Trippsy05 your 'working inside or outside' doesn't matter with its solar power. Its solar panel generates power/energy even from weak light sources like flourescent lamps.
One day when Casio finally nails this smartwatch type it would kill a lot of smartwatches out there. They already nailed the battery life part, 1 year is huge!
I love ur style and animation. We think alike about not connecting to my phone. I'm a subscriber now😃 I like all the points both negative and positive that u highlighted in this video. Awesome review!!
Cool display and colour and great review MWC - for a MIP screen G-SHOCK I think I prefer the GBX-100 (also known as GLIDE for some reason!) which has some smart tech but all the good MIP stuff + tide/moon phase/sunrise/sunset - useful info if you surf/sail or live on the coast!!👍🌊🏄♂️
You're awesome ! I actually bought my BLUE GBD-200 a week ago, just to count the STEPS on the tennis court. Oh yes i play tennis too. (But not a coach!). And i only found this video today! And yes, i did 9350 steps, same as you! (I practised, basically just hitting balls for 1,5 hour) I couldnt agree more on every single point you've made about this watch! And i have nothing more to add! Just a brilliant reviewer... P.S I was between the 5610 (u) version with the new led light, or this one. I finally chose this one, but now i'll still get the 5610 next time i have a 100+ € to spend! Identical taste we have ... Big Love from Athens- Greece, K. x

The white version is like out of Star Wars or Space Odyssey - cool clean. I will wait for the solar and radio version, but at 70 I need a bigger screen and louder too.
This will be my next watch. I don't like fiddling with my smart watch and all I want is a step counter and a battery once a year sounds fine to me compared to charging it every 3 days.
Love the fast moving car sound effect when the old casios came onto the screen at the beginning! I recommend you use that sound everytime a digital watch comes into the frame in every future video :D
I own GG1000, but looks gigantic on my wrist. Just got the GBD200, looks fantastic & very light on the wrist. Guess I'm going to wear this for a long long time. Thanks for the review!
Hopefully you see this but I had a quick question. Have you noticed if the mip screen on your watch pulses/flickers? Noticed mine does and found a few posts online talking about it. Thank you man.
This by far the best looking G-Shock in my opinion. It could even be slightly smaller, to fit a Retro watch, and would look a bit better, but still looks nice :).
Just got the green one, love the display and just using it for time only, didnt care the steps tracker and notification features. the display is awesome, similar to Garmin Instinct
I have a tactical black version of this watch, this is the only smartwatch ill wear on my wrist. No Apple, Galaxy or Garmin smartwatch for me!. I won't even use the Smart features very much, I just like the MIP display and the step tracker. The backlight and vibration feature is pretty cool too.
Super funny review. I like it. I just bought G-5600UE-1DR. Now by seeing the bigger digital screen and the sharp negative display it is attracting me , compelling me to buy this very shortly. As you said, the solar version will get this watch a must having and most popular selling negative display digital smart g shock watch.
You’ve sold me on this one MWC! (Even if it is a year later). Placed an order with Francis & Gaye for the blue one too - couldn’t do it via the website as their codes didn’t work so sorted a nice discount direct and referenced your excellent advertising. Love the channel and have been binging your Casio vids. I, like a lot of people, was tempted to hold out for a solar one but given the leanings towards smarter watches rather than this hybrid, I’m wondering if they’ll actually release the square solar mip that we all crave. I kinda doubt it now. This will scratch the itch for now though. Love the vids. Not surprised how quickly your channel is growing. All you need is Ed the Duck and a broom cupboard 😊
Am watching this video with a GBD-100(-1ER) on my wrist. It's my favourite watch, but this is because the balance of features makes it something I benefit from wearing on my wrist all day (and night) without it distracting me. The weird middle ground somewhere in between a basic Casio, fitness tracker and smartwatch is unusual and this makes it intriguing to me. And I don't mind the look of the black with red accents version, more because it stands out as an obvious tech gadget. In short, there are very specific reasons why this is the ideal watch for me but most other's I'd recommend something else because of the quirks it has. After 1,5 months of near constant wrist time I can say that it holds up well and stays comfortable. The screen has a weird colour effect in the grey in certain lighting conditions. The way the edges light up when peeking in it while the backlight is active is very noticeable. I literally use this as a flashlight at times. But I love how legible it is and how good it looks at all angles. You got the workout functionality *very* wrong, it's only a timer with a global repeats count and the ability to chain 5 different times (which repeat per the global amount before moving on). I renamed all workouts to TIMER to make it more generic, the graphic up top tells which one is being times. The 'running' mode (which I use for walks) does a lot more, it tracks your pace in finer details, shows stats you can configure and... locks you out of using the standard watch features while tracking. The beeping lag is because the entire thing only registered keypresses every 0,5-1 second, probably as that's the maximum speed at which the screen can update. Nothing updates or responds faster on it. This is manageable but can get slow and the stopwatch only counts per second. Luckily I already tightly manage my notifications so it works for me, without spamming or having the indicator stuck on. I will just keep using the Bluetooth as it's very useful for me despite the limitations. I have used the app to make it fully quiet aside from alarms and phone calls and only give vibrations on notifications. The phone needs to be close by to prevent temporary disconnects, but it works reliably for me. If it fails to reconnect, find a place with little 2,4GHz interference and set the watch to pair while the phone's Bluetooth settings screen is open. The app has quirks that get annoying if you use the fitness features but it's nice in use. Similarly to the watch not full of features but very useful. If I remember I will post an update on the battery life with my somewhat intensive usage, though this is with the factory battery. I look forward to a potential future revision of the module, some slight tweaks can improve the general usability by a lot (remote media controls would be splendid).
Update on this, it lasted 13 months on the factory battery, the watch having been on in it's box already. Adding to this, my usage stayed constant and higher than what the 1,5 years are rated for. As the battery died, the backlight got dimmer and at the end the screen turned darked while vibrating. Bluetooth stayed reliable-ish with receiving notifications, sending activity stopped working about half a year ago. I got the battery changed at a certified store, unfortunately, they pinched the O-ring upon re-assembly, breaking the water resistance. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to dry it, disconnecting the battery as soon as I could, it died to this.
Just ordered this based on your great review, not seen a watch video so entertaining. Stormtrooper Grey seems to come from the states so opted for the blue, pumped for the screen!
I agree. I would like the display, the steps counter and activity tracking stuff, Bluetooth for synching time via phone, maybe synch steps with a fitness app, but I'd skip the notification part. Perhaps just being able to read SMS on the watch, that would work with the screen, but the smart watch territory usually is less suited for low res, button driven interface. The smartwatch part needs a bit of work. If they intent to keep it, they could at least provide a selection of which notifications I would like to get on the watch... Not all or nothing.
The GBD 200 is decent and got mine today, but I feel the GBD 100 is cheaper and in some ways better? I prefer the shape of the GBD 100 plus the RUN button. I also paid £59 for the 100 GBD. They seem almost identical internally?
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I understand. That's probably why i got it for £59 then last year. I use it at the gym. Got the 200 now. Had it in the white/grey but changed it for the blue! Thanks for the reply.
Thanks Dan this is really helpful!!!

Just recently bought my first G shock and I love it. I honestly slept on G shock and didn’t give them the time of day I should have
I was like you my friend till I bought the 5610! Now could happily buy another 10 more!!;)
i've owned mine for about 5 months now... and i absolutely love the features and the display, what i was surprised more by was my enjoying the use of the bluetooth functions and getting alerts to messages and calls and such. as a g-shock i know i have something concrete and dependable, but seriously the display is killer
9/10 would recommend 100%
How’s your Battery holding up?
@@strikenryken it’s currently on the wrist and she’s sharp as ever I haven’t seen any issues so far … I think they said it’ll last about three years so yeh it’s pretty great
Man, how don't you get a lot of notifications about everything?
@@danielmelo3648 i keep the notifications on silent, calls on vibrate and the same with work plans... so half the time i dont catch the notifications since im not looking at my watch, but the ones a catch if i feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and dont want to pull it out...very useful
Thinking on ordering one does it vibrate when you get a notification
This is the best watch show on RUclips by a wide margin. Us Mad watch collectors will always love you Russ! Enjoy the family vacation. Much peace and love brother
Just got mine - went the blue as well, absolutely LOVE it! Not bothered about all the sporty functions just wanted that amazing screen and super cool case - definitely a winner ! :)
Can you switch off the notifications but leave the other Bluetooth functions working?
@@romanr.b.7821 I’m not sure TBH I don’t use any of the Bluetooth functions or anything - I just use it as a watch :) one of my faves
I bought this one for work, I’m a joiner, and it’s absolutely brilliant. It can take a beating and comes back for more.
10/10
I've got a red one of these and absolutely love it. I don't use the Bluetooth features or the step counter really. But it has the best negative display I've seen and I really love how big the numerals are on the main screen. The big numbers plus the back-light make it a perfect sleeping watch for me.
Absolutely agree my friend! The screen is that good it made me smile when I saw it for the first time!
Can you actually switch off the notifications and remain the other Bluetooth functions working?
I heard that Bluetooth version can ping back the phone and play a sound on the phone when you can not find one, is this a function of this watch as well or its only in DWB-B5600G ?
I just watched this video, and before it ended I purchased one of these beauties on eBay.. then I watched the vid again.. pure awesomeness 👍🏻
It seems consistent with the way I walk. Not sure how accurate, but for a step tracker consistency is the most important.
I've had the blue one too for almost a year now. Great watch! You're review hit all the bullet points. Good job! 👍🏽
Thank you for watching my friend! I’ve stopped notifications to! Much happier!
Yes my friend you are right! Loads of tech! Huge watches though man!
0:03 I believe he thought it was ugly hahah
so i just bought a gwm5610u for the first time. got it today in the mail. i’ve had the gbd200 for just over a year i think, with every feature on, notifications, vib, beep, auto light most nights. all these features have been on the entire time, for over a year and it’s still good. i’m trying to kill the battery just to see how long it will last. but now my new daily on my wrist is the 5610u, and it will be for some time 😏
points to Casio for trying to balance its core features with newer functions of smartwatches (maybe they'll find a happy balance one day?) First, thanks for doing this review. I am very interested in how they expand on the design/color choices with this model. Second, if they can make this indistructable, they can make it solar!!! Lastly, I would be curious to see your long-term review on this to see if your opinion changes.
My guess is a solar beauty is coming P C
Superlative show yet again Russell! If Casio ever adds solar power to this GBD-200 then I'll be onboard immediately. Cheers mate!
Same. Simple look, simple funtions. Shame it lacks tough solar😢
I just got the black one 2 days ago….
So yes get the new Casio. I didn’t link it to my phone but I love the watch….
Absolutely I’ll be doing the same now my friend!
Yes, solar would make this a "must have."
Casio's website suggests the 100 can trace distance using GPS but displayed only on your phone. Can this also be true of the 200? That would be a killer function at this price point!!
The GBD-100 has the same display and includes sun, moon, and tide information. Great for planning outdoor activities.
Happy days!
Thank you so much for finding the channel! All the best to you Cory!!
Same to you

Old is more glamorous, but less practical, imho. x d
No in last long for over 10 year and I besure that the old one is one of the classic no gimic at all it original green el
Buying this watch purely because this dude! Solid video!
Appreciate you watching Tom!!! You got it yet? Let me know y’thoughts!!!
Bugger that for a lark! Lol love it , this watch killed my phone battery also when it was connected via Bluetooth in New York so I switched it off 😎
One more thing about the display is that it is a reflective light display (as opposed to backlight display), so the more you exposed the display to the light (eg; sunlight), the more legible the display becomes!
Superb knowledge nugget my friend!
Nice one. I avoid smart watches as a rule but this being a Gshock gets my vote. Great show as ever. 😁🎾🎾🎾🎾
It’s a good’n this one Jim!
My only smart watch if you can it that is a tom tom GPS running watch
DONT avoid with technology Jim
Retro-Modern for sure 😂
Great show, Russell!
Thanks so much for watching Jason! Definitely retro modern!!! Hahahahaha
Did you ever pick one up?
@@jeffreylebowski1240 no still haven't pulled the trigger. It appears as though I've started getting into vintage and that's where my money disappears to 😂
@@Watch4Jay omg! Same with me! I’ve been picking up vintage pieces way more lately lol
I agree my friend!;)
I've been using the GBX-100 for a week now. I've borrowed it from a friend bacause i wanted to try some of the smartwatch functions.... and it's pretty horrible i must say.
But I love the design, the screen and the overall g-shock vibe. I already have 4 g-shocks and am looking for a 5th one.
I currently have the following g-shocks:
DW-004 G-LIDE
GW-7900B-1ER
GW-A1100-1AER
GWG-2000-1A3ER
Great video! Thank you 😊
Got this exact model a month or so ago. I just loved the design and mip display linking it to my phone for running works well. Strap is great. There are some annoying parts of the module like the auto light only lasting 6 hours.
Yeah the auto light is frustrating! Don’t get that with my 5610 solar?
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR yep if they made this solar and upgraded the middle it'd be awesome. I love the mip display and how it's so legible in any light so great for training.
@@micksumo Sort of like a GBD-2000, like the already existing GBD-1000?
they said you need to set the auto light everyday?
you can't make a schedule?
I'm ok with the 6hr limit coz you see you only need auto light mode from probably 6pm to 12noon. unless you are still awake 12noon past. then you need more. lol
but setting it everyday is just shit.
Excellent review, great details, right to the point, excellent sense of humor as it kept me entertained and tuned in to watch from start to finish. I’ve just made the purchase on this watch as I’m happy to have watched your review after the purchase, makes me feel confident and comfortable to collect and Sport another Casio G-Shock.
thank you so much for your time upon sharing this review…
A+all the way.
What I’m waiting for is a solar Casio Duro! Like why the hell not. It would be well worth the money.
It would be well worth them making it to Jack!!!
Don't need all that fitness stuff on my watch, if I wanted that, I'd buy a Fitbit...or something 🙄
Love just about everything else about this watch. 👍
Well said Chris!!
Started following this channel quite recently and already loving it.
Appreciate that a lot!!! Come and say hello in 20 minutes my friend! Going live!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Hahah I am not going anywhere 💪💪💪
Great review Russ, haven’t seen any other reviews on this watch. That screen is pretty sweet. I think if G Shock is looking to take away some of Apple’s customers, more user friendly notifications and solar power would definitely make people look at this. Not having to charge a smart watch every night would definitely be a benefit. 👍🏻
Just got it today for work. Next gen Mip screen. Don't need anything else just like you only need time and date. Great upgrade on style and strap too!
The display on these is awesome but swapping out the battery every 12 months would be annoying. So come on casio pull your fingers out and give us a solar version 😉
Great point Simon!!
That is an awesome looking G-Shock and the screen is mega 👌 not a bad price for the features you get either!
A retro modern stunnahhhh!
Yes James!! Worth it for sure!!!!
Thanks for watching my friend!
I love ur style and animation. We think alike about not connecting to my phone. I'm a subscriber now😃 I like all the points both negative and positive that u highlighted in this video. Awesome review!!
I appreciate this a lot my friend thank you!
I got one of these new squares a few months ago and I've been loving the run tracking feature. Two quick button pushes and I'm off to the races.
You've just sold me on the watch I bought on a whim. I didn't know about the notifications feature, but this watch is fabulous!
Superb my friend!
I love the look of this. Extremely good negative display. One of these with solar would be great.
A true watch guy! Being practical is always better.
Cheers Brandon
Only found you via a tgv video last week . Really enjoying the slightly different take on watches. Much more upbeat . Addictive viewing .
You're awesome !
I actually bought my BLUE GBD-200 a week ago, just to count the STEPS on the tennis court. Oh yes i play tennis too. (But not a coach!). And i only found this video today! And yes, i did 9350 steps, same as you! (I practised, basically just hitting balls for 1,5 hour)
I couldnt agree more on every single point you've made about this watch! And i have nothing more to add!
Just a brilliant reviewer...
P.S I was between the 5610 (u) version with the new led light, or this one. I finally chose this one, but now i'll still get the 5610 next time i have a 100+ € to spend! Identical taste we have ...

Congrats my friend!!! Wear it in good health!!
Just had to watch this one again as decided I needed a cheaper but amazing looking digi for work PLUS that screen is the best I've seen yet.
Received my order yesterday.. requested for a return and a refund instantly.. tried it back again on a same day meanwhile waiting for my return label !!! I have changed my mind 😂 what a display ❤
Same here, so tired of charging my apple watch every day... I just got the GBD200, the black one.
i never considered this modern gshock, bcos i think i dont really need smartwatch, but now i do, especially its a gshock! thanks TMWC
I think it is a fab watch for a traditional watch use. I have never been too keen on negative displays even though it is a MIP
Agree totally superDaD!
Hopefully you see this but I had a quick question. Have you noticed if the mip screen on your watch pulses/flickers? Noticed mine does and found a few posts online talking about it. Thank you man.
Hello my friend. No I have to say I haven’t seen it. It only happens on film. Sometimes these screens don’t like the frames per second rate!
This by far the best looking G-Shock in my opinion. It could even be slightly smaller, to fit a Retro watch, and would look a bit better, but still looks nice :).
Thanks for watching my friend! If it was the size of the 5600 it would be even more a winner!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Awesome facial expressions, really enjoyed the vid. till the end hahaha very funny!. :D Cheers

Great review!
Good call!

Me too. I just switched the casio. Wanted a minimalism life, and tired of charging the apple watch. For once my watch has more battery life than me!!
Thank you for watching and for the comment my friend! It’s a must have to see in the flesh or resin;)
I have GBX-100NS-1DR and GWM5610, whatever you said is true, GBD has good screen, but 5610 is the best till date.
Great review mate, bought this watch for my 12yr son in January, he loves it.👍👍👍🇬🇧🇦🇺
Who wouldn’t!!! Just have a spare battery ready!;)
Thanks for the video mate! I bought the watch just for the display after watching this video.
Absolutely!!! Nice one Sean! Hope your enjoying it!

You have to send me an Instagram message and I’ll pass it on 🤣🤣🤣
Am watching this video with a GBD-100(-1ER) on my wrist.
Great review, does this watch viberates while call/ text notification. Please reply?
Yes it does my friend
Such a great presenter and reviewer, many thanks
Just ordered this based on your great review, not seen a watch video so entertaining. Stormtrooper Grey seems to come from the states so opted for the blue, pumped for the screen!
I like the new one with bigger numbers. less strain on old man's eyes.
Love my GBD-200. Set it up using bluetooth initially, but turned on airplane mode after.
This was so much fun... Love your videos... ❤️
Thank you very much my friend !
I’m not a fan of the 100 my friend. Bang ugly and unpopular which is why they changed it !
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I understand. That's probably
why i got it for £59 then last year. I use it at the gym. Got the 200 now. Had it in the white/grey but changed it for the blue! Thanks for the reply.
