I have a dark green Cocktail Time, gold Seiko 5 on a jubilee, black and creme Monster on a rubber bracelet, and a blue-black recraft on the steel bracelet. Loved that last one (very unique). Thanks for this post!
It's a nice collection. Seiko is a funny brand. At the "low"-end they have a fair number of mechanicals, and also at the very high-end. In-between, there is a VAST array of quartz models with all manner of interesting designs, sub-brands, and price-points that get overlooked by the vast majority of watch channels. While I know that some people have an irrational hatred towards quartz watches, they're really missing out, because let's face it, quartz is what really put Seiko on the map and almost destroyed the Swiss watch industry. I wish more collectors gave their quartz models the respect they deserve. I'm glad to see you have some quartz models in the mix.
I started off collecting watches earlier this year with G-Shocks, I'm now on the Seiko train... this video may be dangerous for me 😅 three Seikos on the collection so far, the ssc813, ssc947, and a gen 2 orange monster. I'm already looking forward to adding more. Love the channel MWC, thanks for the awesome content!
Russ. Got a recommendation for you. Seiko 5 SNK381. Got it last week. Older Seiko 5 that’s still available from new in the UK. Good military history (which I know you like). I highly recommend it.
TBH, Russel's madness is sometimes too much. Though, it can be easily helped by turning the video off and only listening to the audio. But then you lose the dials...
Honestly, it is great to see money stretched to create something awesome, that is a very nice selection of modern seikos, futre classics. Great job dude
There are several Presage watches with the 4hz 6R21 and 6R27 movements for around $1,000 MSRP! High beat rate, 45hr power reserve, I think it’s a great value movement in Seiko’s catalog
If you are a budget collector Seiko is the best brand you go to. If money is no problem, apart from all your Rolexes and Pateks you should still have several watch cases filled with Seikos like collecting Hot Wheel cars. They are that good and its always fun with Seiko.
That is a fantastic Seiko collection. I would have to include an Alpinist in the set (I own a blue SPB089 and grey "baby" Alpinist), but I cannot knock any of your choices. 🙌
My choices by role: Warm weather: 5:49 Cold weather: a tough choice between 1:55 and 8:07, but 1:55 wins. I love ana-digis, but the Arnie is too big for me. If I was gonna do an ana-digi, it would be the Casio Marine Gear. Dress watch: 2:53. It looks a bit plain, but that's actually kind of what you want in a dress watch.
I've got a few Seiko's (Presage Cocktail and SNK809 plus a 90's quartz from my youth) and a few more i'd love to get but they keep getting more and more expensive so who knows if I will ever get them all. Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 Seiko Arnie Prospex Seiko Alpinist - two crowns, green and gold, no GMT. Seiko Pogue - I do not like the reissue and i know these are rare with a lot of frankenwatches out there. One sub-dial in gold tone and cushion case. The Detroit Mint version is the closest I have seen to it.
Idk I might have you beat. I've got a simple four piece Seiko collection. But they're all great. The SKX007J was my first automatic watch, so that one's not going anywhere. In addition to that I've got my three Seiko SARB triplets I like to call them. The SARB017 Alpinist, the SARB033, and the SARB065 Cocktail Time. You've got a dive watch, a field watch, a dress watch and an every day watch. Four pieces, less is more. Mine is better!
Love those SARBs: they’re renowned for a reason - brilliant Seiko design. I got the Alpinist as my first “proper” watch and I can’t work out what makes it special. On paper it’s a cobbled together mess; in practice it just works.
I absolutely adore your Seiko collection! Each one is a winner! The only thing I wouldn’t have done was sell your original Pogue!!! The new chronograph with gold dial looks great but it is no Pogue.
I used not to be interested in quartz watches because I thought they were cheap and not interesting enough, but Seiko has made me a believer again. There are lots of upsides to Quartz, service cost, accuracy, durability to name a few.
I think youve just made me realise for all the aspirations of luxury swiss, my favorite right now is still Seiko! Im glad you've got that titanium landmaster, I never see anyone else wearing one, and it's stunning. slightly off topic, you have an uncle straps metal bracelet for your willard, did you have to pay duty or any nasty import tax? I am tempted to follow in your footsteps with the combo
Some outstanding models just can’t decide which one to get next! I am very keen on the Arnie as I have always thought how cool and distinctive it is and what a piece of film history! I think Mrs MWC should definitely guest star on a future show: boring, beermat, blingy, ugly - honestly and hilariously brutal as always! 😂
Another great video! So you asked what model would make your collection better? With what you have, hard to sell any off!! However, on my dream radar is SNR051, the Seiko meteorite diver with spring drive. I think this is also titanium. Either that or a mint condition vintage Marinemaster.
The ones I love: all the divers and snxs. I am not keen on the gmt and land shark personally. I had the vintage 5 re issue but never wore it. So we parted ways.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR In a house move a few years ago, along with my dad's 21st birthday watch, a nice Roamer with an inscription and the date on the back, 1951. Have searched everywhere, but live in hope they will turn up. I probably put them somewhere "very safe" 🤔
great watches russel ive only obe seiko at the moment the brian may red special 2 , but a captain willard or the 62 mas diver id love to get in the future
The pilot field watch, ...and the green turtle ...and the Ti SuperBlue ...just GREAT. Tell your wife I said you have good taste, and she should be glad you have watches that appeal to the working men.
just bought an SJE101 and re-fell inlove with Seikos, it's incredible how a bad purchase (SPB143) can put you off a brand and can make you fall in love with it again with the good purchase (SJE101)
I had a Seiko Atlas in around 2007 which was modified with a sterile chapter ring, a SM300esk dial, & Plongeur handset. It looked mint! Anyways a v.nice collection, & difficult to pick a winner here. As the ani-digi doesn’t count, & it’s shocking you’re missing a full digi, so how about a video all about the best Seiko digi watches past and present?
10 is just a day out for me! You have some nice watches. Not a fan of the navi reissue just because they’re priced it stupidly and way above any original which you can still get on Japan auctions. Seiko , well I have a good 150. Also about to open my shop (shopify store) where I will also be selling some more. Honestly have about 30 waiting to be serviced and flipped. I really have a problem? I assume you still have your Pogue? I see it in the video but not counted as one of the collection? You can get half decent aftermarket bracelets for them now to bud.
Well I have 4 Seikos. The Green Willard SPB 153. It is my favorite watch in my collection. With a No Time to Die Nato on it . Also SKX 007 refurbished. NH 36 and Sapphire crystal. Seiko 5 55th Anniversary SRPK 17. And a SRPG 27 Seiko "Scout."
I have to admit, dear Russ, that the SNK809 is the reason I didn't get myself ond Mad-Hacker (also because the wife wouldn't approve the purchase) - kinda regret it though... I'm looking forward to seeing the Diver of yours!
Won’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows me, and as a proud father to 40 seikos, this is the sexiest box of watches ! Willard, Arnie, and for the best blue dial yet, the Landmaster for me the top 3!!
I agree with "the wife" on this one! Would keep the SRPK17K1 (love mine), Navigator, Willard and Arnie, and get rid of the rest. I'd add a Ripley and Bishop, and also a pogue and maybe a helmet (please tell me you didn't get rid of your Pogue?).
I only have one Seiko and it’s my preferred watch amongst a collection that’s admittedly a bit too pricey😅. Seiko SJE101j1 “Darkwaters” Unbelievable piece
Great video, the wife seems to be getting less offended by your collection. Finally wore her down huh? 😂👍 Gotta find one for her now, this is the family business now right?
Well, *this* got interesting. First off: I knew you were hemming-and-hawing about keeping the 6139 Pogue, so I *guess* I shouldn't be surprised. But…you ditched the PADI Mini Turtle? You seemed all BFF about that one, so it's a head-scratcher. (I just got a new JDM Mini, which goes all-in on retro, with a seconds hand *and* "DIVER'S 200m" text in red). Otherwise, the collection looks pretty good, although the Landshark never held a lot of sway with me. (My "baker's dozen collection now consists of nine Seikos, which *might* hold, unless a certain Tank-style number I'm keeping mum about mysteriously appears, which'll make us even.) 😁
Best divers period ISO RATED 6425 and the tests and specifications for it to pass are impressive. Is the Rolex etc £1000s better when push comes to shove.
I only have one Seiko. A Willard.Job done .Bezel doesn’t align but I don’t care. It’s the only Seiko I will ever want or need. If only I could be so ruthless with regards to Casio G-Shocks
Love your videos! It makes learning about watches fun and unpretentious. My wife also likes your "wife's opinion" segment.
Thank you so much for this my friend! This was the goal from the start!;)
I bought the Land Shark because of your review. It is one of my favorites.
MWC, @jonathaniler is now accepting PayPal, Venmo and CashApp due to your influence. 🙂

Must be a Seiko exec.
Very entertaining as always. A few surprises in there. Those bi-directional bezels make so much sense in daily (non-diver) applications. Thank you.
Russ. Got a recommendation for you. Seiko 5 SNK381. Got it last week. Older Seiko 5 that’s still available from new in the UK. Good military history (which I know you like). I highly recommend it.
I like your Seiko collection. I have a Seiko collection myself . Love that Titanium Landmaster
I think a King Seiko would be a royal addition to the collection.
I'm sorry for the bad pun. I'll see myself out now.
It would be the jewel in the crown.
Honestly either someone likes or doesn’t like this kind of content for me I’m a child at heart love it man
right? even if i didn't like watches, i would still want to watch this channel
Appreciate that my friend!
Thank you man

@@vaclav_fejt DON'T TOUCH THAT DIAL!!
I say, incomplete Seiko collection. You need more Seiko. Just ask your wife. I'm sure she would agree with me.
Complete enough for him,though.
Moving to an 8L and beyond gets expensive.
I only have one 8L watch as well.
I think he needs another square G
Put that 55th on a black leather rally strap, you certainly won't regret it. Love how much more retro it makes it look.
Second that, I have mine on a black a red rally with a carbon fibre pattern, looks killer

Sweet collection! I love that atlas landshark. Ive got to get one to go with my SNXS77 and Alpinist.
Only 10 Seiko’s ? Not a Seikopath then . There’s always room for another Seiko .
Agreed
Very entertaining. Keep it coming Russell.
I have the first Seiko you showed plus 7 others. Love the Landshark.
I got my 3 years old Seiko 5 SNK809, and I really love ir. Daily using even in construction site⌚️❤

Great collection of Seikos. I’m looking to get my first Seiko and I love the arnie 40th anniversary
sweet collection Russ, Gota say, love my Seiko's, but the one that wears the best is the Willard, just perfect

I'm genuinely impressed with how close MAMACOO were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
I have one of these Landsharks .. totally awesome 👌
I have no less than 5 of those watches. However, my speedtimer has a different dial color.
I agree with "the wife" on this one!

When it comes to seiko, one must not restrict themselves to a number. As a seiko fan, I'm always looking for the next one.
Lovely collection.
Yepsi!! Green dial and the LM is cool 😎 love a titanium watch. But for me unless the back is titanium it misses the point behind it. #skin
Hi Russel! You can have 100 Seiko, and it is never enough 😂. You also need classic Tuna diver. Solar Black Limited Tuna rocks!
Always keep the Arnie! But your collection lacks a Seiko H357-5200 though.
