I absolutely adore your Seiko collection! Each one is a winner! The only thing I wouldn’t have done was sell your original Pogue!!! The new chronograph with gold dial looks great but it is no Pogue.
Idk I might have you beat. I've got a simple four piece Seiko collection. But they're all great. The SKX007J was my first automatic watch, so that one's not going anywhere. In addition to that I've got my three Seiko SARB triplets I like to call them. The SARB017 Alpinist, the SARB033, and the SARB065 Cocktail Time. You've got a dive watch, a field watch, a dress watch and an every day watch. Four pieces, less is more. Mine is better!
Honestly, it is great to see money stretched to create something awesome, that is a very nice selection of modern seikos, futre classics. Great job dude
The pilot field watch, ...and the green turtle ...and the Ti SuperBlue ...just GREAT. Tell your wife I said you have good taste, and she should be glad you have watches that appeal to the working men.
Great video, the wife seems to be getting less offended by your collection. Finally wore her down huh? 😂👍 Gotta find one for her now, this is the family business now right?
My choices by role: Warm weather: 5:49 Cold weather: a tough choice between 1:55 and 8:07, but 1:55 wins. I love ana-digis, but the Arnie is too big for me. If I was gonna do an ana-digi, it would be the Casio Marine Gear. Dress watch: 2:53. It looks a bit plain, but that's actually kind of what you want in a dress watch.
I think youve just made me realise for all the aspirations of luxury swiss, my favorite right now is still Seiko! Im glad you've got that titanium landmaster, I never see anyone else wearing one, and it's stunning. slightly off topic, you have an uncle straps metal bracelet for your willard, did you have to pay duty or any nasty import tax? I am tempted to follow in your footsteps with the combo
I've got a few Seiko's (Presage Cocktail and SNK809 plus a 90's quartz from my youth) and a few more i'd love to get but they keep getting more and more expensive so who knows if I will ever get them all. Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 Seiko Arnie Prospex Seiko Alpinist - two crowns, green and gold, no GMT. Seiko Pogue - I do not like the reissue and i know these are rare with a lot of frankenwatches out there. One sub-dial in gold tone and cushion case. The Detroit Mint version is the closest I have seen to it.
It's a nice collection. Seiko is a funny brand. At the "low"-end they have a fair number of mechanicals, and also at the very high-end. In-between, there is a VAST array of quartz models with all manner of interesting designs, sub-brands, and price-points that get overlooked by the vast majority of watch channels. While I know that some people have an irrational hatred towards quartz watches, they're really missing out, because let's face it, quartz is what really put Seiko on the map and almost destroyed the Swiss watch industry. I wish more collectors gave their quartz models the respect they deserve. I'm glad to see you have some quartz models in the mix.
Russ. Got a recommendation for you. Seiko 5 SNK381. Got it last week. Older Seiko 5 that’s still available from new in the UK. Good military history (which I know you like). I highly recommend it.
I agree with "the wife" on this one! Would keep the SRPK17K1 (love mine), Navigator, Willard and Arnie, and get rid of the rest. I'd add a Ripley and Bishop, and also a pogue and maybe a helmet (please tell me you didn't get rid of your Pogue?).
The ones I love: all the divers and snxs. I am not keen on the gmt and land shark personally. I had the vintage 5 re issue but never wore it. So we parted ways.
Well I have 4 Seikos. The Green Willard SPB 153. It is my favorite watch in my collection. With a No Time to Die Nato on it . Also SKX 007 refurbished. NH 36 and Sapphire crystal. Seiko 5 55th Anniversary SRPK 17. And a SRPG 27 Seiko "Scout."
Well, *this* got interesting. First off: I knew you were hemming-and-hawing about keeping the 6139 Pogue, so I *guess* I shouldn't be surprised. But…you ditched the PADI Mini Turtle? You seemed all BFF about that one, so it's a head-scratcher. (I just got a new JDM Mini, which goes all-in on retro, with a seconds hand *and* "DIVER'S 200m" text in red). Otherwise, the collection looks pretty good, although the Landshark never held a lot of sway with me. (My "baker's dozen collection now consists of nine Seikos, which *might* hold, unless a certain Tank-style number I'm keeping mum about mysteriously appears, which'll make us even.) 😁
I had a Seiko Atlas in around 2007 which was modified with a sterile chapter ring, a SM300esk dial, & Plongeur handset. It looked mint! Anyways a v.nice collection, & difficult to pick a winner here. As the ani-digi doesn’t count, & it’s shocking you’re missing a full digi, so how about a video all about the best Seiko digi watches past and present?
Another great video! So you asked what model would make your collection better? With what you have, hard to sell any off!! However, on my dream radar is SNR051, the Seiko meteorite diver with spring drive. I think this is also titanium. Either that or a mint condition vintage Marinemaster.
I only have one Seiko. A Willard.Job done .Bezel doesn’t align but I don’t care. It’s the only Seiko I will ever want or need. If only I could be so ruthless with regards to Casio G-Shocks
just bought an SJE101 and re-fell inlove with Seikos, it's incredible how a bad purchase (SPB143) can put you off a brand and can make you fall in love with it again with the good purchase (SJE101)
great watches russel ive only obe seiko at the moment the brian may red special 2 , but a captain willard or the 62 mas diver id love to get in the future
That solar chronograph (speedtimer) is a beaut. I just can't pull the trigger on one at that price. Just my own opinion. But maybe one day if they come down some
I only have one Seiko and it’s my preferred watch amongst a collection that’s admittedly a bit too pricey😅. Seiko SJE101j1 “Darkwaters” Unbelievable piece
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR In a house move a few years ago, along with my dad's 21st birthday watch, a nice Roamer with an inscription and the date on the back, 1951. Have searched everywhere, but live in hope they will turn up. I probably put them somewhere "very safe" 🤔
Best Seiko collection is an SKX007, a Sarb017 and a Sarb035. Get those three, you’ve completed Seiko. At best throw in an SNX079. Then you’re definitely done.
Hello Russ, any reason why you didn’t give the serial number for the SRPK17k1? 😂 Not like you to be sloppy… 😉 🤣🤣 (I know you will be kicking yourself now 🤗) apart from that: great video, brilliant collection 👍🏻 have a lovely weekend
Again, can anybody explain to me how a tennis coach who makes on average in the UK £3000/month can afford buying £9000 worth of Seiko watches? Yep, I added them up! That's 3 months of salary a year gone out the window or on the wrist😂. Now last time Russell told me that the majority are for reviewing and had to send them back. But not this time. Did I miss something? Does anybody know how he does it because if you have the secret, I would love to begin my Seiko collection journey too!
1) high end tennis coaches can make quite a bit with rich clients. 2) we don't know what Mrs. MWC does for a living. 3) Russell could have inherited some wealth - most people I know who play tennis as an adult are wealthy. 4) As a RUclipsr you do make money once you reach a certain level. 5) and yes some watch sellers do give free watches to reviewers (they can sell or keep those as they see fit) 6) many watch reviewers also receive or borrow watches to review which they have to give back. @@bngr_bngr... Probably the same elsewhere ... again I'm not a reviewer or RUclipsr - just an enthusiast and content watcher so I wouldn't know the details.
Honestly either someone likes or doesn’t like this kind of content for me I’m a child at heart love it man
right? even if i didn't like watches, i would still want to watch this channel
Appreciate that my friend!
Thank you man
I think a King Seiko would be a royal addition to the collection.

Only 10 Seiko’s ? Not a Seikopath then . There’s always room for another Seiko .
Put that 55th on a black leather rally strap, you certainly won't regret it. Love how much more retro it makes it look.
Second that, I have mine on a black a red rally with a carbon fibre pattern, looks killer
Some vintage ones would be nice to see

Very entertaining as always. A few surprises in there. Those bi-directional bezels make so much sense in daily (non-diver) applications. Thank you.
I thought the wife was going to savage your collection Russ but I think she was very kind.

Seiko SJE101j1 “Darkwaters”

I like what u did with Sega introduction 👌seeeeikoo
Great collection, but why get rid of the mini turtle? That one was a keeper!
You need a Samurai... Mine is easy one of the top 10 favourites in my little collection...
Bro, you have the best collections ever
It speaks functional watches, not flex watches
Very entertaining. Keep it coming Russell.
Greetings from the USA. You need an orange Monster in the collection. Please take ours!
Nice one MWC 👍 The modern 'Pogue' looks awesome! I can't wait for my Willard to be returned from repair 👌Still looking for my old SKX 😥

Quality collection mate. I reckon the pogue will go. I don’t think it should. I just reckon it will lol
Still need to sort myself out with a Seiko 😮
Can't stop wearing my Willard.
Lovely collection.
Russell are you going to need a Seiko display case like your Casio display case???
No Alpinist? Green dial
You’ve got a beautiful seiko collection! But no monster? Or any of the tunas?
Arnie
@ it’s half digital isn’t it, can I call my srp637 baby tuna an Arnie?

Love the channel especially the Casio episodes..
Personally I wouldn't wipe my arse with a SEIKO watches.
Did you get rid of your custom SPB143?
Giveaway to a member my friend
I think the wife is becoming a Seiko fangirl 🤣
a year already passed...so fast
How could you sell your Flighty? How could you do that to TVG? How could you do it tot ME?
Seiko 🥺 or Casio 😫..bit of a pattern going on..must be the only two makes on the Planet 😳😳
#11 Blue 5GMT.
I think I may have one of the best Seiko only collections lol
I absolutely disagree.😅😅 I may not have 10 Seikos. but the 6 that I do own are better than yours 😎😅

Complete enough for him,though.
Moving to an 8L and beyond gets expensive.
I only have one 8L watch as well.
Sounds like your wife is a Seikoholic
Its very good. Mine is better.
More bezel...
Da da da datha da
With prices lately going Up, I think Seiko is very overrated. No wonder Chine produces lots of cheap alternatives, better quality though. Cheers 👍
There is currently only two Seiko's I desire to get: The Emperor tuna automatic and one of Seiko moving design series watches.
Bro
Seiko have soo much pretty watch and you got all the ugly one's😅
Just like their owner !
