@@purpleschala even after 20 years the retail game is still live. there are private servers that have reversed engineered some of the game so you can theoretically run your own server offline. or you can play on a private server to get the "classic era" experience with hundreds of people.
This final fantasy hardly ever gets mentioned amongst the others for best soundtrack undeserveldy under rated imo, but wow does XI have some of the best music I have heard in any final fantasy game ever
Super late to the party but absolutely loved this game and this tune. Thank you for your wonderful playing. Definitely wouldn't be upset if you made a better quality in the future.
ooooohh you actually know this book and his Radiohead arrangements!!!!!?!? 😍😍😍 that's awesome!!!! yeah for a while back I was picking at Street Spirit and Paranoid Android, You, Let Down, and Fake Plastic Trees and a few others, Karma Police of course....they're pretty difficult so I got kinda bogged down hahaha but at some point I would love to record some of them!!!!
@@purpleschala i own one, myself! and ya, i’m pretty sure o’riley stopped selling these because their quality is kinda wonky. it almost seems like they were computer generated, somehow? 🤖 but, ya, they are crazy difficult! so many great pieces in that book, but exit music has to be my favorite 💜💜💜 so funny that i only just noticed you had one! i guess now i’ll be waiting for that video, too 😎 🙌🏼
@@rufi0 oh dude no way you own that book too!??! HAHAHA i had no idea he stopped selling them!!! They were EXPENSIVE and funnily enough came signed lmao, but yeah i TOTALLY agree like, so many of those arrangements are unpianistic and i would venture to say flat out unplayable or at the very least not worth learning without some serious modifications lol. I mean it's telling that every time O'Riley himself performs live he ONLY does Karma Police LMAO. I got pretty far on Street Spirit but omg I had to strip away SO many notes because it was just so overstuffed with filler it was too much hassle to bring out the melody, like....we can achieve the same effect with half the number of notes?? I mean...it wasn't like Ravel or something where every note is essential lol. Same goes for like 80% of the book lol! and oh yeah Exit Music is also really great!! I also love Like Spinning Plates and 2+2=5. But yeah at some point I'd love to record some of them and I promise it won't be just Karma Police lmao. So cool you have that book too!!!!!
he really is omg, I only found out recently he did all the stuff on FFXI--if the game is ever available offline in a single player format I would totally love to play it and experience all the music in game, I'm sure i'd be inspired to do more covers of it then, I can only do things from games I've played and have an emotional attachment to lol
@@purpleschala his music is so good you'll get attached to lots of it anyway without playing FFXI The game is available on private servers though I believe but I prefer retail server. The sub was well worth it and even though its 20 years on I would still recommend the game to anyone. There is nothing like it for me even the character creation screen was filled with so much nostalgia
@@purpleschala the world of Vana'Diel is brutal. Huh? I basically listen to the FF piano collections for a living and yet I've never heard this piece. What is this album? Discovering a new FFPC would definitively make my day!
haha that's hilarious!!! =) well, I know this is from FFXI, and the book I got this from I assumed was from the Piano Collections since it is in Japanese and I got it as a gift from a friend in Japan, but as I am trying to find a link online I actually can't find it anywhere!! =( I've actually experienced this before, I've made a recording from this book or mentioned an arrangement in here and people are like, what is this book? indeed as I'm going through all the FFPC books now I don't see it anywhere! I'll have to take a pic of it.
ahhhhh I really can't find it anywhere online! =( but it has a picture of gunner Yuna on the cover, and it's a compilation of stuff from 1987 to 2004. let me know if you interested in taking a look and I can email some scans.
purpleschala Do you think you could just send me the cover image so that I can make some research and try to find if it's still available somewhere? Thanks!
may I ask you where are you from? tried guessing from the outlet (it looks like an outlet) near the window but the video isn't sharp enough damn now I sound like some kind of stalker ~~~ guess it's ok....
This theme still makes me cry. So many nights spent with so many friends… here’s to those that aren’t with us anymore, let us keep marching on. ❤
i'm sad I never got a chance to play XI! I hear it's still possible to play offline? hopefully

purpleschala I just realize that I have this very piece in my FF official best album, haha. All right, I'm done spamming this comment box now :)
@purpleschala, I’m recording the FFXI PC, would you be open to a collaboration on the two 2-piano pieces? Thanks.
