This is my favorite performance of his. So much emotion he put in this song! Look at the audience - theyre all spellbound. I dont think a single person moved or breathed through this entire performance.
Was never much of a country fan, although I guess this is really Americana. Was flipping channels and caught this on PBS. This song for real "gives me the chills". This song can bring understanding on several levels. For a further listen check out "Long Violent History". What a change in understanding this can bring. What a musician and story teller!
When Tyler sings his songs that carry weight, I can't help but notice the expression on his face is that of a man giving advice to someone in dire need of it. Especially this one
Ok I been listening to Mr. Childers for a while,...In my mind I am always trying to compare him to the greats in my head,..."who does he remind me of, or who can I compare him too (why I have no idea),...." You can not even try to compare this guy with anyone,...in my opinion anyways,...I will go out on a limb though,...I personally think his song writing reminds me of the late great Ronnie Van Zant,...Mr. Childers in my opinion has that type of magic,...I hope I get to enjoy his music for many years to come,...
I lie, steal and I am addicted to pills I feel broke and my brother is only 29 and homeless and addicted to heroin I have no family, this guy makes me have hope
Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I recently saw his "acceptance" speech from this award show and it left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth. If you don't like the genre and don't want to be part of the genre, don't show up. And for the love of pete, don't walk up on stage, take the award, and essentially tell 'em to f*** off. That was just pure jackassedness imho. Tyler (insert middle name) Childers, I know you don't give a rat's behind what i think, but I'm pretty sure Cody's grandma wouldn't like it either. 😕
what he's sayin is that Americana isn't really a genre, it's just what they're calling real country music these days because country got co-opted by the pop music Nashville machine. And he's rightly pissed - he's not an "Americana artist", he's a country singer and country is shutting him and others like him out because they aren't singing enough about pick up trucks and red solo cups and girls in daisy dukes or whatever. I think he's right to use whatever platform he can to say whatever he wants about his life's work.
Tyler is his middle name, and he's right, everyone singing at that awards show is more country that the pop trash on the radio. Americana isn't a genre, it's a label the industry uses as a disparagement. And it ain't no surprise to me that people that can't pronounce Appalachia correctly can't get his very Appalachian surname correct, people "celebrating" a region and culture they don't know jack about all for a buck.
I bet every person that didn’t know who Tyler Childers was in this audience will know him after this haunting and amazing performance
He carries the pain of Kentucky in his voice. Living up in the holler
And WV* Sir. (Southern Ohio also but mehh😅)
The desperation in his voice! It's as if he doesn't want to sing the songs, but knows the stories need to be heard. A pain to otherwise carry alone.
This is my favorite performance of his.
So much emotion he put in this song!
Look at the audience - theyre all spellbound. I dont think a single person moved or breathed through this entire performance.
I love listening to this guy sing.... the intense look he gets on his face....THE BEST new artist I've heard in a while...Great job
He's fantastic
Those intense looks. I love em.
Tyler Childers
*brings me to chills
This man's voice is crazy, what a great talent!
When he sings the can’t catch a break part, holy shit.
I always agreed that you could feel the pain of his stories in his voice. That was before I saw the conviction in his eyes.
I haven't been this blown away by an artist in a long time this song gives me the chills just so much emotion in this song
Just the best country music artist ever
Hes good but not as good as Strait, Cash, Hank Sr, Hank Jr, Jennings, and alot more
This man has so much talent! He can not sing nothing that does not move me! ♥️♥️♥️
The soul in his vioce has you hanging onto every word like when you were young listining to your grandad tell stories from long ago ....
i cant believe how good his voice is, its incredible. 1 in 10million
Man if this song isn't the truth!!
The passion in his voice and the look on his face....wow!
🔥 Divine intervention for Pop Country.
The realest voice in all music
Gimme them 11 herbs & spices TC!!!

Wow....pretty sure I'm in love
Such vulnerability in a voice, it's haunting and goes straight to the gut

there is hurt you can cause that time alone can not heal......
Just music at it's best! Nothing better than being yourself no need to be someone you aren't.
Wow! Just Wow!
Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon. 🎶👣👂
That performance was finger lickin good!!
Awesome.
Childers for President 🙏🤟💙
this guy is awesome. we wont get to see him in Australia i bet. Super stuff
You never know. He has been to the UK a couple times.
He’s so much more than what people think. He’s gonna burn it bright - a change is coming.
If those people sitting in front of him aren't getting chills from listening to that, they've got something seriously wrong inside...
His voice reminds me of Kurt Cobain. It’s so raw and powerful!
Just had the same thought, hope he shares his gift for much longer
Like Vedder also

He shuddered souls that night alright. Did you hear his speech?
@@cicibradley2809 No but I will try to check it out,....
@@cicibradley2809 "Americana aint no part of nothin" lolol
He reminds me of a young John Prine.
Hank Sr. Ronnie VanZant, and now, Tyler Childers... Greatest impact on ALL good music, of their respective generations.
WTF this dude slaps
The real deal Tyler Childers. He had that croud in the palm of his hand.
This is one of my favorite songs of his, but I feel like it loses a bit of its punch when he censors "fucked up" to "messed up."
Josh Walker gotta appease all the boomers and the press n such :(
Too bad this world thinks the Fbomb is so worthy... I actually thought the way he stretched out "Messed up" sounded better than the original...
He also changes "can't seem to shake" to "can't seem to take"
@@freezerfreezer9097 not true.. still sings can't seem to shake
I’m sick of Col. Sanders comments in all the articles. He lives in Kentucky It’s a Ky Colonel suit, very traditional.
Holy shit.
straight up ass kickn song and artist
I lie, steal and I am addicted to pills I feel broke and my brother is only 29 and homeless and addicted to heroin I have no family, this guy makes me have hope
So many people to look to for motivation....Tyler, Jason Isbell, Steve Earle...they beat it, so can you. One day at a time.
Who knew Colonel Sanders was such a good guitar picker in his younger days? ; )
dance music
Wow🤯🥹
Wheres his acceptance speech? It was prophetic to say the very least.... ✊
colonel sanders sure can sing. jk jk one of my fav songs by tyler
But why is he dressed like Colonel Sanders?
Have you tasted their chicken?
I think it was sarcasm..... I respect that, I’ve always liked being underestimated as a hillbilly by people 😎
The Goats blood was a nice touch also...I think he was mocking the sacrifice of real country music and music row
@@wesselvidge5070 He was probably trolling folks what made fun of his flannel shirts.
Lil cash lil colonial whole lotta I wont conform. Best recipe I've seen in a long time
Is that the grand ole Opry?
Yes, at the Americanafest Awards Program.
The Ryman.
game theory fnaf
Please tell me why he is dirty...I need to know.
It's called irony. Check out his acceptance speech from this. Americana ain't no part of nothing.
