I saw that PO49 is on your wishlist, but that you have some of Winsor & Newton's Quin Gold PO49. I am fortunate to have 5 and a half 15ml tubes left of a bunch of tubes of Daniel Smith's original Quinacridone Gold PO49 which a friend bought for me when Daniel Smith announced that they would soon be running out. I also have a 15ml tube and a half of the Winsor & Newton's original formula PO49. The DS Quin Gold PO49 is like liquid sunshine, a quality that is not so pronounced in the W&N PO49. I guess it's the individual way that different manufacturers grind or mill their pigments. I was also gifted at the same with 4 tubes of the original Daniel Smith New Gamboge PY153, which a lovely warm transparent yellow pigment that is also no longer available. DS's New Gamboge is now formulated with PY 97, PY 110. It's still a lovely formulation but still doesn't have the appearance, mixing qualities, etc., of the original PY153. There is no likelihood of my running out of those two pigments in my lifetime LOL. But I feel fortunate to be able to enjoy them. I saw a tube of Daniel Smith original Quin Gold for sale on Bay the other day for $150.00 USD. Surely no one would pay that price! This video is 6 months old so you may never read my comment. Anyway, I hope you find your unicorn, the DS PO49! Are you using the Winsor & Newton Quin Gold that you have? How do you think that it compares to the DS new formulation?
Hii. Yes, i do have the Winsor Newton PO49, and I rarely use it. Haha. I can't compare it to the DS PO49, for i haven't tried it yet. I know it looks different in person, and it's special, so lucky you. 😍 i would pay for 150, but maybe for 50, i would. Haha. Sennelier still offers PY153, the Sennelier Yellow Light.. but im not sure if it is the same hue as the Original Gamboge. Yes, i hope one day, I'd find even a pan of DS QuinGold or even just a dot for me to be able to compare it with my W&N and the hues. 😊
Happy birthday Sir Allan!!! May you have a prosperous and healthy year ahead. I hope mareceive niyo po yung mga nasa wishlist niyo 🙏 The White Nights granulating set and the Rosa Gallery paints are on my wishlist too :D
Happy birthday and thanks for sharing your passion for watercolor. FYI there will be an additional 22 Daniel Smith gouache colors coming out in November. Maybe you can add that to next years list lol.
Thank you, Mark. And another thank you for this great news. 🙏 I'm about to add their gouache to my cart, even without some colors I hope there were. So now, I'm hoping. Maybe tor Black Friday wishlist. Hehe
Oh my, I've forgotten to comment on ur video, happy very VERY belated birthday Allan!! I wanted to say I managed to get around 19 Utrecht paints too, since you commented about the paints. I really should do a short review about them, but what I can say for short is the paints are very natural looking and beautiful to me. One thing I've noticed with my Utrecht pans is that they would grow MOLD in hot and humid countries ( considering they were originally made for countries like US having 4 seasons every year, and probably not as humid as SEA countries can get to ). For my wishlist, I definitely wanna get my hands on M Graham to see whats the big deal about them. I also want to try out many other art supplies too, like Caran d'Ache Neocolor I n II, and also Artgraf Graphite Putty. Anyways, happy painting, fellow SEA artist!! 💕
Thank you. Better late than never.hehe Yes, that's true about the Utrecht. Very natural and so as Ive said in the review, they're not indtimidating specifically beginners. Regarding the molds, what I do in my handpoured is I add a drop or two of gum arabic with clove oil. That's what I do in my handpoured paints. So far, I've not experienced molds.. and also i regularly open the containers to fresh air. MGraham paints is the exact opposite. They're supper pigmented specifically the Phthalos and earths. MGrham are the paints I hate the most in handpouring as they mold in days despite adding anti fungal/ clove. So they're really best straight out of the tubes unless you live in an unhumid country. Happy painting to you too, from the Philippines. 😊
Happy Birthday, Sir Allan! Cheers to a fellow March born! I got one of the palettes that I wanted for my birthday--the MozArt Komorebi set, which is a gansai set--but the other sets that I was hoping to get were either unlisted at the time or out of stock! My own wishlist, which I'll likely be getting around Christmastime, are: 1. Da Vinci Watercolours 2. Daniel Smith or M. Graham Gouache 3. Kristy Rice's Art for Joy's Sake Palette 4. Kuretake Gansai Tambi Art Nouveau set - I use these as gouache! 5. Roman Szmal Watercolors (I think the Pascualino Fracaso set is the best as it's the largest with the most unique colors.) Thank you for inviting us to share our own wishlists! Happy birthday to us both!! P.S. Rosa Gallery are available via Amazon for free shipping to the PH! They come in pans lang tho; not tubes. But some of the sets are interesting!
Thank you, Frankie, and happy birthday too. 🙏 🥳 🎉 Wow, buti ka pa, summer palang, may Christmas Wishlist na.hahaha. mahaba ang time to earn. Sake Palette? Interesting. May book ako niyan ni Kristy Rice. Ung florals Hehe. 😊 Yung DaVinci, ba available for shipping via Amazon ano? Will check on the Rosa sa Amazon. Salamat. 🙏
Nice video Allan, and happy birthday! I think the Frazier Price brass palette is overrated. It looks nice but some of the reviews I have seen seem to indicate it lacks a quality build. I think it is overpriced. But if you get it, please post a review. Thanks!
Thank you, Morrison. 🙏 and another thank you for your headsup on Frazier Price brass palette. I think, I'm gonna save this time.haha. unless they offer a huge discount say a 20%off. ☺️
Now I wan't to try daVinchi. I wouldn't bother with White Nights or Rosa. I want the ceramic palette too and some quill brushes. I don't need the big one medium size flower palette will work. What is on my number 1 list is Sennelier watercolor.
DaVinci is really good value pro grade paints if you're from US. Especially the 37ml tubes. 😊 Sennelier is entirely different especially if you get the tubes. I love them too for their layering strength. 😊
I hope you had a very happy birthday and got some of the things you were wishing for! I’m hoping to try Michael Harding and Wallace Seymour paints one day , oh and M Graham (so expensive to buy in UK)😊
Thank you, Lois. 😊 If I had not yet bought some tubes of Michael Harding, it'd definitely be on this list too. Will review it next month. 🙏 MGraham is quite expensive but totally worth it. I got all 70 colors, I cant believe how I was able to. Haha. It didn't happen overnight though. It took me 2 years to complete it. 😅
@@AllanJayQuesada I watched that video and I've seen you have some new ones out that I haven't had a chance to get to yet, but I will eventually! Very exciting products!

Ooo, Nice list Allan. Happy 36th birthday. The porcelain palette, Whitenights paints are my favs too. I agree with you, shipping rates, taxes and customs charges have increased a lot since 2020. That's why I stopped hoarding my fav supplies. None of these charges actually go directly to the business owners, that's why I have put a pause on my spending. Money is my own bank is more empowering than price gouged art supplies. Wait until clearance sales and buy them when it feels reasonable. :)
Oh my bad for the super late response. But, i super agree on this. Black Friday sale is the best season for that. Or when travelling, get the best local supplies. 😊
