Thank you! You do a lovely presentation of swatches & comparisons. I love the little painting illustrating how the set works in use. Please do more of these - perhaps a bit more mixing opportunities to show possibilities of making greens plus some sky variations … stormy sky?
Thank you so much for appreciating my work. And for the suggestion, that's a good one. I sometimes do some mixes. I hope one day I could make a separate content for that as well. 🙏
The comparisons at the end! So many watercolors you've tried ^^ I love watching these swatches, but I'll stay with my horadam, I'm so used to them by now anyway :) but yeah they certainly look nice!
ThNks Allan . Sometimes I just want a really bright and punchy watercolor. This looks worth giving it a try. Especially since the cadmium and cobalt are real. Paul Ruben isn't known for granulation .thanks again .🤩
Ohh happy Bday! I order the floral tube set from ali express today! So happy to see this review..the Paul Rubens pans are not that great so hopping the tubes are better! Thanks!
Oh wow! that quin rose is so warm, it kind of reminds me of the PV19 Alizarin Crimson Quinacridone from Da Vinci! It's nice to have variation in the market, though so I'm not mad even if I do wish that was labeled a little better. That aside, Sir Allan I'm curious! Do you think all their unique mixtures ( i say unique but we all know they're DS copycats HAHA) will be adapted into these 4th gen paints? I will be sad to see their versions of Shadow Purple and Moonlight Purple go, if they are. Also does the response mean they will be discontinuing the pan sets they currently produce? the way the email is worded sounds like the formulation for pans and tubes were different, so "not selling pan versions for 4th gen paints because we have many watercolor paints in half pans" sounds like they aren't actually discontinuing the current line of half pans as a whole, but selling them alongside the new 4th gen paints, only discontinuing the blue tubed versions? it's hard to say from one email. Nonetheless, really happy to see they're updating their formulations and seemingly taking customer feedback into consideration :) Really good, informative video on these new products, appreciate the work you do for the community!! Thank you for sharing these and advanced happy birthday :)
One can easily mix their own Moonglow. Which in sure you already know. I mix mine by the pan full so it is always convenient. Viridian, magenta, ultra marine
@@phillipstroll7385 im aware! its why i specified "their versions", i just like having variation in the commercially available options. i do make my own mixes since most brands use the fugitive pr177 that id rather avoid, but thank you for being polite in your suggestions, i appreciate the advice nonetheless :)
Thank you for the advance greeting and for appreciating my work. I love doing this. 🙏 🎨 I think we have the same understanding of their email response. But it's kind of confusing that they're continuing the pans but not the blue tubes, which we believe to be the same line. Or, he could mean when he said, "we have so pans already," that the market is already saturated with pan paints. But im not sure. Aside from the blue tubes, i forgot to ask as well if they're discontinuing the student grade in sky blue tubes. I hope they respond to the video after watching it.
Oh venerable Allan, I hope you see this comment. I bought the Superior water colors as I was influenced by your most auspicious review. I havent painted in a couple of years and I was thinking of upgrading to the old Paul Ruben's paints that you reviewed a while back. Do you think those are still worth buying? I'm talking about Paul Ruben's 24 colors in halfpans that i found in Lazada.
Ahww. Venerable grabe. 😁 but thank you for your message. 🙏 Superior to Paul Rubens Professional is an upgrade but which specific set was that? Can you attach the link here so I can double check? You know Paul Rubens does lots of new special sets these days..
@@AllanJayQuesadaHello, do you have another way to contact you? I keep trying to type my comment here but it keeps vanishing. I think it's because RUclips doesn't allow links or something? I'm sorry for the inconvenience 😭

Nice to know a fellow Filipino watercolorist is sharing skills. I subscribed, and maybe one day we can chat about watercolor in architecture. Prof Jose was my mentor when I took up courses for heritage conservation at UST.
Hello Ar. I have been following you in Ig and just recently saw your RUclips content. Alot of arki students are asking me to do arch're-watercolor content, but atleast now, I can point them to your channel. And also I hope i could join Urban Sketcher Manila's events too. 😊 i was fortunate to have worked with Sir Jose for thr Simabhan book. 🙏
That's true. I've noticed that Paul Rubens aren't really investing on producing open stock paints as they keep on creating "new" lines and set. They never stay classic like DS or Schmincke. They keep on reinventing. Im not sure, maybe to improve or also for marketing purposes.
This brand is not widely available here in the Philippines :( Sa shopee nakabili ako ng half pans pero hinahanap ko yung single 18ml tubes. Please make the Midnight Purple color available in your shop. Yun yung gusto kong kulay 😁 Advance Happy Birthday rin pala po, salamat sa lahat ng wc insights 🥂
Thank you po.
I love the comparison in the end. That's ultra helpful.
Thank you for watching Danielle. Glad it was helpful. 😉

I'm glad to enjoy watching that part. ☺️ Horadam is one of the best. 🎨 👌
I just bought some to upgrade from my student quality paint. I'm so excited to try them
I'm sure you're enjoying them now. 😊
So beautiful, it makes my head spin 🤪
😆 thank you. But i hope you don't get dizzy.
Wow! As usually - a wonderful & honest review! Also very relaxing to watch! 😊

Agreed!!!! Cadmium and cobalt make it worth it for me.
Yes, annette and Phillip. This brand includes cadmiums and cobalts. This will work for those who don't mind having these contested pigments. 🙏
I would like to know if there is a difference between this version and the version in pans which is called 5th generation
Happy birthday to you in advance!
Thank you, Sadaf. 🙏 🎨

Thank you. Their tubes are definitely alot better than their pans. Their floral set is also good to be honest. I'm excited for you. 🎨 😊
Nice review as usual !
Yay. Sorry for my late reply. 😅

Yes, so many to choose from. 😊

I wish they had smaller sets or individual tubes. I only found sets of 24 or 36. That's too many colours for me.

Can you please do the review about Pelikan opaque Watercolor set (24 colors)?
Do you have a link where we can purchase it?
Is the ultramarine granulating?
It is tiny bit granulating but not as granulating as western versions. 😊
