This may be helpful for some shoppers, but I'd recommend producing such videos earlier than the 2nd week in December...I bought my gifts, including lots of art supplies during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend when all the major retailer stores had specials....Enjoyed your miniature landscapes in the video!
Yeah, you are really right. I was really planning on doing this last week of November but due to some unforeseen activities, i wasn't able to. But maybe this will help those who are panic buying and for maybe next year. 😅
Don’t worry if you can’t afford A Gallo. Its wonderful. But it’s no better than any other high end paint. Davinci is my favorite. But I have favorite colors in all the brands. Find your favorite affordable colors and you aren’t missing out! I paint with most of the artist grade brands and there really isn’t a difference in quality imo. I curate my own palettes and all brands are represented. Winsor and Newton to Daniel smith to schmincke to Davinci to Roman szmal etc etc. favorite shade is more important imo. Don’t fret just enjoy your paints you have. 😄
When i got my 18pans set of AGallo in 2018, they were still a small artisan shop. Now, they've developed and even added more uncommon pigments that made me more hooked. Haha. As a pigment hoarder, it's a collector thing, not just an artist thing. You are definitely right that artist grade paints don't really make huge differences among each other. One can actually just focus on one brand and he'll be fine. Almost all brands have all the colors i need. I also love DaVinci especially their 37ml tubes. I just wish they become more reachable and I hope they make their paints available at Jackson's Art where I can easily purchase from. 😊
@@AllanJayQuesada well I disagree on one brand. I say try as many as you can afford! I just don’t think there is a BEST brand. The top ones are all wonderful. 😄
@LCLand oh yeah you have a point. Cause Daniel Smith doesn't have my favorite Cobalt green. And their potter's pink isn't the best. So one needs to find better versions from other brands. 😊

A Gallo prices are so much more than what DaVinci is asking. And one can even get very good 60 ml Holbein watercolors. These very expensive brands are a ripoff.
I have not tried Della Magna but Ive always been interested. They have lots of special pigments. Comparing the price to AGallo, yes, there's a noticeable difference. The earths of AGallo is 9 Euros. While it's only 7 on Della Magna. However, Lapiz Lazuli of AGallo is 15.9 Euros while it's 15 Euros for Della Magna. But Della Magna's Blue Fra' Angelico, (Pure Afgan Lapiz) it costs 55 Euros. Even more expensive than AGallo YinMn Blue that's around 38 Euros. This makes me realize that the price consideration comes from many basis such as the rarity of the pigment, the challenges obtaining and processing it, specially considering these brands are handmade. I hope Della Magna becomes available at Jackson's too and if that time comes, i hope the pricing remains. 🙏
@@AllanJayQuesada I agree with you. A Gallo is a beautiful gift for a loved one and their paint is pretty good but I'm not sure if I'm paying good money for the paint or wrapping as well. The tins are not as luxurious as MaimeriBlu's or Holbein's. I bought Della Magna direct and paid €12.50 for shipping (Singapore) which I think is fair. Prices are increasing. I paid €14 for lapis lazuli in April (I got 6 half pans in total). The best thing is I got 2 extra colours in half pans as a bonus. They don't have fancy packaging like A Gallo but I think the hand written note from the seller says a lot about his passion.
@markyteo that's so warm to hear. i also received hand writte letter from A.Gallo coz that time, i bought directly from them. Not in Jacksons yet. This is what's special about these handmade paints. They're personal. When i bought at AGallo before, thr only shipping option was through DHL. So it was too expensive. 12.5 Euros is pretty fair. Is it by post? This gives me brighter hopes on getting Della Magna sooner. Thank you for the infor. 🙏

I agree they're expensive. I believe it's in the process they undergo? Hut yes, DaVinci 37ml and Holbein 60mls are so good for the price. 🙏
