We've had so many people reach out to us asking how our countertops have held up. We wanted to make sure we gave it enough time to really put them to the test before we shared the results.

I thought your original granite was beautiful and wasn't sure why you'd want to do this. Paint is highly unreliable over time and very sensitive to dings, scratches, etch where you're going to have to be exceptionally careful over time. Plus, you won't have an easy way at all to repair those. If you had really ugly granite or laminate, I could understand. But, I would still suggest an epoxy route for people over pure paint. I far preferred what you had to the look of the paint. Outside of that, though, great tutorials and explanation. No criticism of the content at all!

Thank you for the feedback. The granite, while beautiful, did not go with the current style of our kitchen. Using paint and poly definitely requires us to be more careful but since it's just my husband and I (no more kids in the house) we feel we can control how they are treated. An epoxy would certainly be more durable but it is much more difficult.
