    You did a wonderful job displaying these specimens. The cases are well lit, organized, labeled and there is symmetry between the size of each specimen, labels and mounts. Very professional, hates off to you.

    Good rocks! Don’t hate me, but here’s a suggestion: you want the putty invisible, wherever possible. Takes extra work but adds a lot.

      totally agree! i used to use only putty but i've found with colourless specimens like White Topaz or a clear Quartz and even better with smaller pieces but you can't beat hot glue! of course i only recommend it if it's something your mounting and not going to be needing to take off its base reguarely but even with that said using a hairdryer on it it just turns the glue to a soft putty like substance and can be removed without the worry of ruining them! 👍🏻💎

    Nice video. As a fellow Dutchman I already figured you were either German or Dutch, judging from the pieces you have. I still have quite a number of pieces from Winterswijk as well. At 2:56 is that quartz on limonite from Ibbenbüren? Greetings.

    What are the stands? Acrylic circles with a type of putty to hold them up?

    Gorgeous collection! Where are you getting those round stands from? What are the dimensions on them?

    • @Thommus
      @Thommus  5 лет назад +3

      Just look on eBay for round transparent / clear bases for miniatures. Diameters are 3.5 - 5.0 cm.

      @@Thommus Do you remember where you got the thicker bases from? The miniature bases seem to only come in 3mm thick.

    What are the minerals placed on? And what is the gum connecting the mineral and the thing that they are placed on?

    • @Shuffles.
      @Shuffles. 4 года назад +2

      BongieGER they’re on round acrylic or plastic stands, and the gum is called mineral tack!
