You failed to mention dry eye syndrome can be caused by a stroke, they regularly don’t tell you about this when you’ve had a stroke and it’s only after repeated chasing and questioning you get specific eye drops on prescription. A lot of people aren’t able to do this after a stroke and so it’s important to educate family’s so they can look out for it and speak to the dr for treatment on there relatives behalf

I really wish you could be my eye doctor.... You seem very smart and it seems like you genuinely care about helping people hence all the helpful and free content you share with us viewers. I have been struggling with multiple eye and eyeglasses issues for 2 years now. I have yet to find an eye doctor who really listens. The ones I have seen had seemed almost automated with their answers to questions and they also made me feel rushed and slightly crazy.... Which I now feel like I am as this whole experience has been traumatic and weighs heavily on my OCD. Things that never bothered me before do now because I am now obsessive over it all, and I am not getting the answers I need in which to help calm down my OCD tendencies. It's been really hard on me mentally and even physically.
I had dry pink eyes until I used Castor Oil along the lashes on a clean face before bed. The results are White Irises and comfortable eyes and healthy lashes .
My eye doc said that I don't close my eyes completely. You referenced this. I understand why we don't while on the computer or smart phones. Doc can you tell us other reasons why we may do this. I do have CDE as a result of surgery in the past. I'm finding the older I get the worse it gets and my blinking gets. I'm concerned that this is going to cause scratches on my corneas. I have slight cataract and am concerned that I won't be able to have surgery for that when time comes. I use medicated prescription drops and over the counter drops as well. Why would I not be blinking completely at other times when not on the computer or phone/ i pad, etc.,? Help. Btew, I'm over 60 age now. Tia for the help. God bless for doing this channel and helping the uneducated. @DoctorEyeHeath
fun fact: myopia is totally preventable. by using Atropine on your own three children, before they actually enter myopia. By two ophthalmologists, and there children.
Forced blinking is an effective work around for this, every fewminutes to do 1 powerful blink can stimulate the muscles of riolan, reducing dry eye symptoms significantly
I was doing this the other day (I was trying to stare without blinking to copy this one girl who barely blinks in her acting videos.) After a certain amount of time not blinking my eyes started getting watery and I think I made myself “cry” on cue!
How come there isn't a prescription out to help treat red eyes? I've been suffering for years with red eyes and no relief. Been to an eye doctor and still no relief 😢
There is only 1 research publication trying to look into it and I can't say that for sure, but I think that being aware of it and forcefully blinking once in awhile to makes sure you are getting good tear distribution is wise.
It depends, for me it's not really helpful, I tend to be more aware of my blinking and blink less. Sometimes it's better to let the eyelids doing naturally their job. My eyes were way way better 2 months ago when I didn't care so much about eye blinking. I talk only for me, it could be good for you.
My dry eyes are worse in the morning than at any other moment during the day so I blink a lot all the time because it feels like I have something stuck in my eyes all the time
Do curved computer monitors help with eye strain and dry eye? I bought a defective one that doesn’t turn on, so I have to return, but I was hoping it would help ease the screen eye strain.
Doesn’t matter the shape of your monitor you can often change the colour on things like laptops and phones to a setting that reduces eye strain. The and avoid bright whites and reduce the screen brightness. If you can go for a laptop with features for eye strain.
My eyes are not getting red usually but branches of capillaries are making an arc around my iris when I am using my lenses also not able to bear bright light
My eyes don't get red, expect the night bc i use my phone , (Somniphobia makes me not sleep so i make my eyes a lil dry ciz its to wet but when i feel it dry i fall asleep but when i wake up its back wet)
Zinc plays an important role in keeping your eyes healthy. This mineral is responsible for getting vitamin A from your liver to your retina and produces melanin, a pigment that protects your eyes. Dairy, whole grains, nuts, sweetcorn, peas and lentils are all excellent sources of zinc.
Came here to giggle at the thirsty public and all I find are normal human beans. Where are my people?? I cannot be the only one gawd Dude this is RUclips I just wasted a whole tub of metaphoric popcorn on this comment section you guys aught to be ashamed y'all get it together man pfft. ... and uh thanks for the eye help. 😅
Me too, it's different for everybody I guess. I tend to not blink when thinking about it, others tend to blink more, others to be aware of, etc. It's totally normal, depends on how your brain works I guess.
BRO I LITERALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY!!!!!! So,when i use my tablet too much,it's ok beacuse i have a setting that is to comfort my eyes AND THEY ARE RED AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!PLEASE FUCKING EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT TO DO PLSSSSSSSS
The eyes can become red because of dryness issues. We don’t blink as often or as completely when we stare at screens. Even if the eyes don’t feel dry, the tear film is likely becoming unstable. Which causes inflammation on the eye and causes redness. It’s important to take frequent breaks from devices. Also using artificial tears. Otherwise definitely ask your local doctor what they think and if there is anything else they think would help.

Should we consciously blink more and close our eyes for a second every minute?
