  • In this video I’m reviewing the Huntshield 24 gun safe from Canadian tire that I purchased myself almost one year ago now. It is a full and honest review on everything I like and dislike about this product, the cost of the safe and if i would recommend the product.

Thank you so much for posting this! This was a huge help in my decision to go ahead with this safe and how to set it up.
I’ll add a few pointers that might be helpful for others:
    - To pull the back panel out I used a trim removal tool (it’s like a mini pry bar meant for upholstery or automotive trim work … link below).
    - Take the bottom panel out first as it’s the only panel that’s butt up against the back. This lets the back panel move more freely.
    - Start by prying the back panel from the top corners. My back panel was in two sections so it nicely folded inwards a bit to allow access for the power cord.
    - You’ll have to drill a hole yourself for the interior panel (looks like it’s just drywall covered in a thin layer carpet/felt). Drill from the back side of the panel first so you don’t ruin the carpet/felt material. There’s a horizontal row of 4 holes midway up the back of the safe so no need to drill into the actual steel material of the safe.
    - For the inside lighting I was able to tuck all of the wires in the gaps between the panels along the corners. I placed the proximity switch at the top of the middle dividing shelf and hid those wires along the back of the shelf.
    - So the only exposed wire is for the dehumidifier which is way too thick to stuff in the gaps between the interior panels.
    What I used:

Thanks for this. Any chance we could get a look at the locking mechanism behind the door panel?

I removed the door panel once and it was the biggest pain in the ass to get back on and for that reason i probably wont be removing it again sorry

They probably put the wire access hole at the top for the "waterproof" feature

If you already owned handguns before the "Freeze", you can still use them, but for people like me or you we have to wait until next election and vote Conservative in our ridings and Pierre Poilievre for Prime Minister to get Turdeau and his Liberal crime family out of government, then Poilievre will undo the bans the Libs passed and we can then buy handguns again or for the first time, can't wait!

I wasn't fortunate enough to purchase any handguns before the ban came into effect. Myself as well as everyone else have to do our parts in electing government officials that actually understand the problems in this country and don't just outlaw things they view as “scarry”

@@CandaianMinutemanI learned how these processes happen when 12(6) [2008?] took away my right to buy derringers. So that Zippo-sized single-shot 'Assault Weapon" that you've had your eye on cannot ever be legally purchased by you. Last year... I hear 'Federal Government' and 'firearms' in the same report, I go shopping. And since the laws rarely make any sense, I had to stock up strategically. So I spent about $32k (including a new safe and $4k worth of 9mm ammo) picking up as wide of a variety as possible... I even bought guns that I knew would never be fired, because maybe tomorrow I might lose my right to buy one. I even bought a 7.62x25 Romanian Tokarev TT33 (WWII surplus)... And a brick of ammo to go with it. It's in a ziplock bag at the bottom of my safe, and will not likely ever be seen again. I also bought some handguns based on features that may get specifically banned. Threaded barrel, barrel lengths, swappable barrels, under-barrel mounting rails, 'suppressor-height' iron sights, extended capacity magazines, etc... I also bought a variety of calibers, because you never know what they'll ban next. 12(6) banned all firearms chambered in 25ACP, which has zero corroboration with crime in Canada (and likely every other country in the world). But, they knew that they could sneak it past the system (32ACP as well), and they did. I want my Beretta Bobcat in 25ACP 😞
