Foxy the Pirate Are you kidding me? Aquaman is a fucking beast now. Read the new 52 DC comics and check out the his parts in the Justice league cartoon.
He was Ant-Man, then alternated between that and Giant-Man, then changed his name to Goliath, then Yellowjacket, then he was just "Dr. Pym" for a while, then he became Ant-Man again, then when Janet died he became the new Wasp, then he decided to become just Giant-Man and forego the shrinking.
Man I didn't think this many people would hate on Ant-Man. He's my favorite. I mean if you think about it he could kick anyone's butt. He can shrink to a subatomic size and still have the strength of a normal human. AND not to mention he can grow into a giant. And talk to one of the most powerful creatures in the animal kingdom. The ant. I think he should get a little more respect as a hero. As for Aquaman? Much lamer but he has to control all the oceans in the world, so that's obviously pretty tough. But Ant Man is an awesome superhero. My all time favorite.
***** Also, I find him a lot more realistic compared to other superheroes because like many people today he lacks self esteem and doesn't believe in himself at times, there was even a case in one comic where he nearly committed suicide (which he faked later and became Marvel's biggest dinghis hole Yellowjacket) but he ended up being able to push through that and regain his confidence. They should totally start making WWPD instead of WWJD. You know. What would Pym do? Screw Batman forever. This is Ant-Man forever!
I like Hank in Avengers EMH, that show was a great Marvel TV show to watch! Too bad Season 3 was cancelled. In that show Hank really does follow Human Rights, he likes to help the villains in a good way, talk to them and if necessary, use violence AFTER. I also liked it when he became Yellowjacket, a more of a guy who goes for violence first, has a microversal gun, and can fly, blablabla.
Cool origin, it's a shame that we won't see Hank Pym's origin unfold in a movie, with Marvel deciding to go with Scott Lang in that movie and reducing Pym himself to an old man and widow. :(
TrainedForTrains What, you think that's supposed to make up for this BS? No one wants a flashback to the sixties with some irrelevant origin story for Hank Pym that has nothing to do with his actual origin in the comics, okay? That's an insulting consolation prize from Marvel Studios. Hank Pym is supposed to be a present-day superhero and younger than Tony Stark, not an old man. Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne are supposed to co-found the Avengers along with Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and later Captain America. He's not supposed to be a superhero 40 years before the team is even formed. Hank Pym creates Ultron, not Tony Stark. Hank Pym is also supposed to become Giant-Man, which will never happen in this movie. So how the hell can you say that the beginning of this movie has Hank Pym's origin when absolutely nothing of Hank Pym's story is going to be in this film? And why was it even necessary to do any of this when all they had to do is make an Ant-Man movie about Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne as The Wasp, and tell Edgar Wright to take his Scott Lang story and get lost? No, this is unacceptable and total bullshit.
TrainedForTrains Y? I'll tell you why. The Ant-Man movie they're making is based on a script written by Edgar Wright back in 2004, long before the MCU or Marvel Studios existed. It was intended as a stand-alone heist film and never intended to be part of any shared movie universe, as it had nothing to do with The Avengers or any other Marvel characters. It made Hank Pym an old man, eliminated Janet Van Dyne, and focused on Scott Lang, so as such it is totally incompatible with Avengers mythology and should never have even been considered for inclusion in the MCU. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, after having delayed the movie for 10 years in development, ended up having to admit that the script wasn't working and didn't fit into the MCU, which resulted in Edgar Wright leaving the film due to all the changes made to his script that made it no longer his movie at all. Considering that a blind man could've seen that Edgar Wright's script was never going to fit into the MCU after Iron Man came out, this whole thing is totally incompetent management by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios. The fact that Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne are going to be eliminated from their own story just because Kevin Feige tried and failed to accommodate Edgar Wright's Scott Lang script is infuriating and unfair, and Feige has totally mismanaged this entire production. Sorry, but I'm just furious with Feige and Marvel right now.
Thomas T That makes no sense. Hank Pym creating Ultron's A.I. back in the 1960's and then conveniently leaving the program lying around for Tony Stark to find 40 years later is just a lame excuse to connect Hank Pym to Ultron without having to change Edgar Wright's Ant-Man script that makes Hank an old man. What they should've done was toss Edgar Wright's script in the shredder and re-wrote Ant-Man for a young Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne and had them in The Avengers movies instead of all this ridiculous shoehorning of Edgar Wright's script, which even Marvel Studios later admitted wasn't working and didn't fit into the MCU, which led to Wright quitting the film. Such a waste of time, and Hank and Janet deserved better.

Tales to Astonish was Marvel's science fiction anthology comic book and Hank's origin story in #27 was called "The Man In The Ant Hill" and it was originally kind of a sci-fi horror story with a scientist shrinking himself and having to survive being attacked by ants while trying to return back to normal. When Marvel entered the whole superhero comic thing (because originally they did horror, monster mystery and sci-fi comics) they took the scientist from this story and made him into Ant-Man. The Ant-Man who is going to be in the Marvel movie however is the second Ant-Man, Scott Lang (his origin is different and it's based on the comic "To Steal an Ant-Man" which was also adapted by the EMH cartoon and I think it's uploaded on youtube somewhere) Hank is actually his mentor in the movie.
I'm a big fan of Ant man more so Hank Pym. He was intelligent and humble had great ideas for mankind in the marvel universe and kind of the Anti Tony Stark. He loved Wasp and he's abilities were pretty kool. He was also a big pro mutant (seeing how the Wasp is a mutant herself) He wasn't about killing but more of rehabilitating ex cons who were mutants or super powered. He freaken created UTLRON which is a HUGE villain for the Avengers. His communicating with Ants is pretty funny and the fact that he can grow 60 feet was a very kool power. Hell, it let him fight guys like the Hulk, Abomination and etc.. I hope the movie rocks and does Hank Pym some justice. Besides if people don't like the passive Pym he does become Yellow Jacket which is really a BADASS character. Either way cant way to see him on the big screen and people should really give him a chance. He can get pretty small and STILL have the same strength of a normal man. So he can fight with the best of them. Plus he can use bugs to fly, he later learns to fly (Yellow Jacket) and can become as big as a building. Guy is unite intelligent and has many forms of his persona. Kids CAN and will look up to him.
He's getting his own film in 2015, which is part of the Avengers movie continuity, plus he so important he created the villian named Ultron, plus he's one of the first Avengers.
His strength increases with his size. To quote the Marvel Wiki: "At giant size, Pym's strength varies according to the height he achieves: at 10 feet tall, Pym can lift (press) 1000 pounds, at 25 feet tall he can lift (press) 10 tons. The higher Pym grows past 25 feet, the more of his strength he had to use simply to support his own enormous mass. At 100 feet tall, Pym can lift (press) 50 tons. He is capable of Class 100 strength at heights beyond 100 feet tall, though he usually cannot maintain those gigantic sizes for long."
There are many cool things about Ant-Man. 1st he's got a unique costume that is pretty interesting. He can go places where other heroes can't. So stealth is a big part of him.
Okay one quick question... When he became the Ant-Man... His strength will be the same as when he's in his normal size... Then when he became the Giant Man.. He will become more weaker right? Coz his strength is the same as when he is in his normal size right? I need a answer *_*
Heimdall The Lost Guardian No, when Hank Pym grows and becomes Giant-Man his strength increases in proportion to his size. If Hank's strength remained the same as normal size when he grew he'd be unable to support his increased mass, and he would fall down and be immobilized. At 10-15 feet tall, Hank Pym can lift close to 1 ton, which is equal to Captain America's strength. At 20-25 feet tall, Hank can lift 10 tons, making him as strong as Spider-Man. At 50 feet tall, Hank is close to Iron Man level strength, and at 100 feet tall, Hank is at near Hulk-level strength, which is Class 100(able to lift/press 100 tons).
Heimdall The Lost Guardian You're welcome! :) The answer I've been waiting for is why they're making the Ant-Man movie about Scott Lang instead of Hank Pym, and why Hank and Janet are not in the Avengers movies, but I'm still waiting to hear a good answer for that one.
I believe it's because Hank Pym would not fit in as Ant-Man in 2015, since the name "Ant-Man" wouldn't be considered cool around that time. (Hank also beat his wife but that's a whole other story.)
"Plugging the enemy guns with honey"? First of all, that would take a billion ants, considering how little honey each ant can carry. And what kind of honey is so strong that it can stop a bullet? That's some seriously thin writing right there. I don't even see why the ants needed to be a part of this story, other then as a tie-in to the name. It's pretty silly.
If seriously your "intellect" is getting into the way of you enjoying cape movies and comics, you should get another hobby. You need to stop behaving like this.
Edgar Dominguez lol it's not a "behaviour", it's my opinion. He would be a perfectly fine superhero without any relation to the ants. And despite this, I'm still really looking forward to the Ant Man movie.
Another awesome power really. To shrink and GROW to any size you want. That would be fantastic especially since you retain your normal strength and speed.
well maybe his normal height is equal to zero so when he shrinks he can't get minus in strength cause his strength can't be negative therefore when he grows bigger his strength will develop with him as it only can go up from zero. / i dunno wtf i'm talking about :-)
Pills now.. Originally, these Pym Particles existed in a liquid elixir form which would shrink objects or living being to which it was applied. Later, Pym was able to synthesize Pym Particles into a gaseous form for quick shrinking results with inhalation. Later still, Pym was able to refine the Pym Particles into a pill form.
This films either going to suck or be a great hit like the Guardians. People thought that was going to suck, a talking tree and a racoon...Fail. Yet it's up there with Avengers. I have faith in Marvel so this will have some if not all decent points to be a good movie.
josh edgar I'd have faith in Marvel if they made this film about Hank Pym as Ant-Man/Giant-Man and Janet Van Dyne as The Wasp, as they would be the most cinematically appealing characters as well as the most compatible with the Avengers storyline, as Hank and Janet are co-founding members of the Avengers and Hank created Ultron. But this terrible mess of a film makes Hank Pym an old man and Janet deceased, and eliminates them entirely from their own story. Hank and Janet's story was the one that was most compatible with the Avengers and Ultron storylines, not to mention that they are more cinematically appealing and have the most history. Making this movie about Scott Lang, a guy who just shrinks and is a second-rate superhero, is total bullshit and is definitely NOT what I wanted. I wanted Hank and Janet.
William Linkous Guardians and The Avengers weren't perfect, but I wouldn't say they fucked them up. Hawkeye was woefully underdeveloped, the Chitauri are a poor substitute for the Skrulls, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne's omission from the Avengers is unforgivable, and the script could've used a bit more polish, but The Avengers was good overall. Guardians could've been a bit less Saturday-morning-cartoonish, but it was still pretty tight in terms of pacing and storytelling - although the Nova-Corps wasn't done justice, and Yondu's southern drawl was just ridiculous.
Ant Man even in his small form retains the strength of a normal size human. So he does some serious damage. Plus in his giant form he is VERY powerful. AND he is a genius.
There is a reason the Antman movie has been in development hell. No one wants to see it or be in it. I mean the dude shrinks or grows bigger. Woopty fucking do. Controlling ants? Really? and he is a founding member of Marvel's Justice League Knock-off? Give me a break. The only thing that is remotely cool is that he maintains his strength when small but with that same logic why does he get more strength when he gets bigger? I mean even tiny and retaining his normal size's strength, punching someone isn't going to do anything except feel like a freaking bee sting, that's it. Marvel doesn't have a great grasp on how physics work.
I guess, if you want belly flop an army. But his physics make no sense. If he retains the strength he has when he is normal size even when he shrinks then shouldn't it be the same for when he grows? I mean if you can grow that big whats the point of needing ants or growing tiny? Need to sneak into the enemy base? No need, grow super big and just be all like Knock knock mother fuckers.
Da fuck are you talking about? Spiderman kicks all kinds of ass on his own or against other super heroes. He kicks Captain America's ass, ant man's, black panter's, there are very few avengers that spiderman couldn't outshine on the big screen. And Nightwing is as good as batman in many cases. His fighting skills are exceptional, he's almos as smart. He's the best robin out of all 5 robins. That's like saying batman isn't a strong member of the justice league.
Ok to some degree I don't care. And in a movie, especially a marvel one, "bc magic" works for me most of the time. But when you are going to take a character whose powers are based around science and physics, then shit on physics by taking out everything science about his powers it gets annoying.
yeah, i was a fan of him due to my father being into comics and me seeing the TV show on Disney. i like how he has brains and brawn. i hope he gets a good movie to star in.
This is by FAR the dumbest origin story I have ever heard. It read as if it were written by a 5 year old, and not a smart 5 year old. I am heartbroken they have chosen to do a movie version of this bullshit, rather than a movie about Black Panther, or Doctor Strange. Pathetic Marvel. Pathetic when they wrote it, and it will be pathetic when they put it to screen.
YOURE AN IDIOT AND A MORON. they already did a movie on Dr Strange years ago in the 70s and it was terrible. Antman is long overdue. Also, in the orgiinal Avengrs orgin story, the Hulk was hiding out in a circus disguised as a clown. HOW DUMB IS THAT?
I think he would fit perfectly in Avengers 3 because from his movie he could change in the Avengers as Giant Man! Imagine him being HUGE and kicking lots of ass

ElQuinn McClarty Who, Hank Pym or Scott Lang? Because I wanted Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne on the big screen, Making this movie about Scott Lang and making Hank Pym an old man and Janet dead, completely eliminating them from their entire storyline in the Avengers, is total bullshit and is not what I wanted to see.
ElQuinn McClarty We already know how it's going to go. The entire Avengers and Ultron storylines are going to be upended and twisted into a convoluted mess. They're manufacturing some backstory for Hank Pym in the 1960's that connects him to Peggy Carter, Howard Stark, and SHIELD just so they can have Hank and Janet connected to the creation of the Avengers in some mediocre way, even though it makes no sense for Hank and Janet to co-found the Avengers 40 years before the team is even formed during a time when they are presumably the only superheroes in existence. This also means that Hank never becomes Giant-Man, as the only reason he even began growing is due to being on a team where everyone was so much more powerful than he was that he felt he needed to upgrade his abilities. And they also have to find some way to have Hank come up with the design for Ultron, but for whatever reason not build it and have the plans lying around for Tony Stark to conveniently find 40 years later, even though technical blueprints from 4 decades ago would be as useful to Tony Stark as the Skylab plans would be for NASA today. So basically we're just gonna get an Ant-Man who shrinks and that's it. No genius scientist-superhero who can go from microscopic size to over 100 feet tall, no Janet Van Dyne as The Wasp, no Hank creating Ultron, no Hank and Janet in the Avengers, a team they co-founded together and have been central figures in for 40 years in the comics; basically this sucks all around. And no matter what the film turns out to be, it'll never be as good as it could've been if they had just stuck with Hank and Janet.
I'm so psyched to see the Ant Man movie, I know it'll be great to a superhero movie with the special effects of shrunk down sets and hopefully practical effects like the ones in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. I hope they make his character overshadow the stupid moment that people reference too many times in regards to his comicbook past since I think his character and costume and origin is cool. I would LOVE to see that amazingly designed helmet as a Halloween costume.
this next phase of marvel heroes films (antman, black panther, quicksilver) are like the remaining players on the bench, but the team has a huge lead, so they're able to play now
Physics. A punch at normal size has the amount of force spread out over the area of the point of impact (the fist). A smaller fist with no real change in the amount of force will concentrate that force to a smaller area, yielding a greater impact. Essentially, at a certain size threshold, Antman wouldn't be punching so much as stabbing the guy with his fist. Granted, the wound will only be as deep as his arm, so minimal. But get elbow deep in a man's kneecap, and then regrow?
Antman took down the Hulk once by commanding ants to go into his Hulk's head. I think Antman and JLA's The Atom are sooooo underestimated! They both make good spies and small enough to mess with your head and stay at their regular strength.
although i don't follow comics, i have always watched film adaptations of them. after reading a lot about antman, i am looking forward to his silver screen debut
You should do a comic book origins now for the Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man, since after the movie he became the better known Ant-Man.

There are many cool things about Ant-Man. 1st he's got a unique costume that is pretty interesting.
He can go places where other heroes can't. So stealth is a big part of him.
Na na na na na na na na ANT MAN!!!
That was the reason I subscribed as well. But the top 10 list are pretty cool most times.
44excalibur ohh thanx... this is the answer ive been waiting for..
3:48 was the one time that I laughed my ass off watching a cartoon.
Me to XD!
Tyrell Caesar To what?
ThisIsMyFullName It is just a comic, a fictional one at that.
The reason I subscribed was for the comic book origins and you barely do them anymore
Another awesome power really. To shrink and GROW to any size you want. That would be fantastic especially since you retain your normal strength and speed.
The coolest thing is that he only retains normal strength and speed when he shrinks. When he turns giant, he has the strength of a giant.
oh right that would be pointless to have normal strength when large. No point becoming big if you can't lift a car.
well maybe his normal height is equal to zero so when he shrinks he can't get minus in strength cause his strength can't be negative therefore when he grows bigger his strength will develop with him as it only can go up from zero.
That's bc yall bitches are ignant. They actually DID fuck up Gaurdians and Avengers. You're just too damn simple to realize it
William Linkous Guardians and The Avengers weren't perfect, but I wouldn't say they fucked them up.
Not really. Its pretty easy to make a hero look strong in a stand alone film. Alongside others he will never be very strong or interesting.
Why do you care about physics in a superhero film?
Ok to some degree I don't care. And in a movie, especially a marvel one, "bc magic" works for me most of the time. But when you are going to take a character whose powers are based around science and physics, then shit on physics by taking out everything science about his powers it gets annoying.
He is a genius, he probably removed that affect when he grew but kept it when he shrunk.
ant man rules
yeah, i was a fan of him due to my father being into comics and me seeing the TV show on Disney. i like how he has brains and brawn. i hope he gets a good movie to star in.
ants dont make honey
1:39, good thing Hank discovered the ants' only weakness: judo!
Yeah, shut up--it was the 60's man. Everyone had a dumb origin story back then.
ThousanWhite tHE HULK hiding out in a circus disguised as a clown or the JLA battling a giant alien starfish is not just dumb, its RETARDED.
the dumbest origin story is aqua man so shut up bitch ant man is the bomb digity
His name is Ant-man.........enough said.
I think he would fit perfectly in Avengers 3 because from his movie he could change in the Avengers as Giant Man! Imagine him being HUGE and kicking lots of ass
Ant man? OMG....I can see a live action movie of this being so lame.
They said the same about Thor, Iron Man and Captain America.
Yeah we all thought Thor would b god awful but it turned out 2 b good. Plus Marvel has been on a roll lately and they're just trying new things
Youre right, now that unfortunately Edgar Wright is no longer directing.
give it a chance! if this movie turns out 2 b alright there will b a doctor strange movie coming in soon!
Have you never read his story? Hank Pym had a pretty dark childhood.
He also creates the Ultron AI.

Ant man is too fringe. May as well make a Thundarr the Barbarian movie too.
I'd watch a Thundarr the Barbarian movie.
They should do an updated version of this to include Scott Lang and Eric O'Grady.
Shrinking powers are the most under-rated. Especially cool if you maintain your full grown strength. You could get away with all kinds of crazy stuff.
This is DEFINITELY going to be very interesting. I can't wait to see how Edgar Wright does this!
great clips abt Antman ....1st time seein this AntMan really...i heard news abt movie so i m here....some clips.. thanks.
Thank you for stating that,my guess is that nowadays what many fans and casuals know about him is mostly culled from that ONE time and the Ultimate version.
Eric O' Grady "Irredeemable Ant-Man" is the best version of Ant-Man
It's his size (and control over bugs) that makes him useful, as the cartoons prove.
BTW, Ant Man's the Atom of Marvel.
Nice origin summary guys! And don't forget.., Almost movie time. I've been waiting years for him on the big screen.
+ 44excalibur Yeah I wanted Hank too. But its Scott. Oh well. Lets see how it goes...
Finally, I was waitin for this one. Will you be doing his partner in love and crime (the Wasp), at some point in the near future?
Can you do a new more updated and in depth origin of Spider-man, that would awesome! Gatta love that web-head!!!
I'd like him as Ant man and Giant man, his suit being able to inject both formulas.
Origins of Scott Lang / Ant Man.
Yes you guys finally did Hank
this next phase of marvel heroes films (antman, black panther, quicksilver) are like the remaining players on the bench, but the team has a huge lead, so they're able to play now
That's actually a really cool origin story.
I like the direction they can take with him if he eventually goes the darker, Yellow Jacket route
WHO WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT ?
ANT MAN
OR
GREEN LANTERN
Aquaman is an awesome character and Henry Pym is so important to Marvel Universe.
Ant-Man is incredibly underrated!
Very excited for the Ant Man movie:)
you should do a superhero origins on Wasp just as a follow up
the savage dragon, the question, hawkman, the original flash and green lantern, atom, etc
True, but they do tend to give some information about details after the origin. With Kraven the Hunter, they got as far as his death.
Paul Rudd is playing Ant-Man, Great Actor!
Wow! I never thought he could be so interesting
Ant-Man tampaknya superhero yang menarik. gak sabar nunggu bulan april, euy!
4:00 i am the only one who noticed that this is a super hero origins episode but the guy said "for more top tens"
"Don't you open up the window, don't you let out the antidote" no wonder
lmfao
Ultron's origins please! I know bits and pieces but i'd love to know more! \o/
I'm really excited to watch the movie. Time to do my research first lol.
I thought it was cool that MCU pulled a Batman Beyond for the movie, with Hank Pym as the original Ant-Man, and had Scott Lang as the movie’s hero.
because a movie of him is coming out later on. and he is a major part of the avengers.
3:43 Gooooooooooaaal!!!!!!
Could have expanded more on his origins to this point with: Slapped the Wasp, Built Ultron, went crazy, that kind of thing.
But Wikipedia helps.
2:49 Yet he grunts when picking up a mere ant?
Ant Man logic: Ants are attacking me. I will hide in their home.
I wouldn't say he was that obscure, but a Hydro-Man origin isn't a bad idea. I support it.
Im sure they will make ant-man look badass like they make every superhero look
You were using pictures of Scott Lang`s ant man suit and Hank Pym has another identity known as Goliath. Thanks Watch mojo for a good video
Antman took down the Hulk once by commanding ants to go into his Hulk's head. I think Antman and JLA's The Atom are sooooo underestimated! They both make good spies and small enough to mess with your head and stay at their regular strength.
His only weakness, a sturdy pair of boots!
Can you do one for Scott Lang antman?
although i don't follow comics, i have always watched film adaptations of them. after reading a lot about antman, i am looking forward to his silver screen debut
