Venezuela is hosting its first international beauty pageant starting on October 9th. I posted a video asking viewers if the pageant should be cancelled because of the current dangerous situation in the country. I included your report on my vlog. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. ruclips.net/video/tszmRtFEbPg/видео.html
Nice propaganda to relax the American people, now that USA has pulled out of the situation. It would have been bring journalism if you did it a year or too ago. However I am sure things are better since millions of people left that country I'm sure there's more food to go around.
Hi Nick, I just wanted to say as a Venezuelan, you were very lucky to leave unharmed and with everything you went in. I also wanted to ask you if I could use some of your footage for a video I'm producing to make awareness about the situation. Please send me a DM or reply here. Thanks man! @SandroDBL
Wow. The little boy on the steps singing still haunts me from many videos ago. You said something that I have been thinking all a long and it hit hard, "I get to leave after 2 weeks, but Lenny and Jose are going to be staying." Even though it is their home country that they love, living in a crisis situation wears you down. No words. May Venezuela recover, as fast as possible.
They took you to the most dangerous place the last day! Im from Venezuela and have been in all of the places you visited but NEVER the spanish old road. Is abandoned and the only way in and out is close to “23 de Enero”, so basically you are in the wolf mouth. However, thanks for the visit and excellent job
@@shred1 It is more likely controlled by paramilitary groups called "colectivos" and/or is part of a "Zona de Paz" or peace zone that is an area where the government agrees with the local crime lord not to enter or intervene if they pinky swear they are gonna leave their weapons and deal with the order and local disputes peacefully, making them the de facto official that answer to no one, sound crazy but just as I describe. So if you are there and the local Colectivo does not like it or the head of the peace zone is not pleased you are in their hands, literally you are in no man's land, or off limits.

I am a Venezuelan living abroad and really appreciate your reporting and account of things, thanks, 23 years living in Australia and 19 years that since I haven’t been to the country I was born... thanks
I am an American living abroad yet have absolutely no interest in returning to the States...it is only a place .... and rather an ugly place of people right now
You have no idea the pain I feel in my heart when you show the reality of my country like this. I lived a few years ago when I had to visit my family and you reflect the reality in a very honest way. I've been living in Australia for a few years now, and still my country hurts in my DNA. Like Lenny said, these issues won't dissolve overnight, unfortunately. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, really.
Jorge Luis González who’s to blame??? Venezuelans? The Venezuelan leaders? Or trump?? 🤣🤣

@@bonkersblock Unfortunately we don't gain anything on blaming anyone. Each one has a quote of responsibility, some more, some less. What do you think?
Venezuelan's are welcome around the world as they tend to add to any countries citizenry , hard working, proud, sensible people, and usually very capable people with valuable skills .. Know many here in Canada, and for the most part have been great to deal and work with.. The country has so much more to offer than oil production, oil is a blessing, but the government should have looked into refining and petrochemicals , and production of goods three parts fro removed for the cheap oil they have access to (plastics, pharma, engineering, aviaton fuel, Embraer partnership ?).. as well as their greatest resource, it's people ..A country can do anything with people like that, hopefully most will come home when this is over..
I have family in Merida and they are struggling, especially getting money to them. The presentation, the quality, nothing short of professionalism. This has got to be the best series on Venezuela! I enjoyed it immensely. Keep up the great work.
Living in a bordertown. You get used to the violence you hear or see on the other side. You become numb, so it feels like its no big deal. It wasn't until I moved away I truly understood this is not a normal life.
Manni Interrupted I used to think the crime, violence, wickedness, and cruelty was normal, and I was the freak who can’t adapt. Then I went to the US for over 6 months the first time since I was a child... my perspective changed in extreme ways. Let’s leave that my eventual return to venezuela was difficult
Manni Interrupted that’s exactly what happened to me when I moved from Puerto Rico to United States. They normalize this things. When you actually come to a place where people obey they law and follow the rules that blows your mind.
@@planetagonzo nothing to do with following the laws or the rules, it's about having sense of kindness, community, humble, being true to the nature of earth...
RGF well that’s the last thing you see in highly corrupt countries. Everyone just take care of their assholes. You’re by your own. You can’t trust the police. The government. Nobody. Everyone is out to get you. That’s how it is there.
@@thefrugivoreanimal sorry but kindness, community and humbleness is not something id associate with the USA. Ever heard of Skidrow? It does however have everything to do with the fact that most of the US citizens DO follow the law.
As a Venezuelan I not only appreciate with all my heart your content here but also the love and effort you put into the making and the editing for these videos within the series. Thank you, you have a friend in me
It's interesting the people commenting from these countries mostly give approval, as opposed to feeling like their country is exploited for social media purposes. I think everyone is proud of their country now matter how good and bad.
😓 my home for 20 years. Its devastating to see how it has turned. Was married there, children born there, was the best years of my life. My prayers to all my friend who are still there.
My heart aches for the country. I have Venezuelan friends and they are one of the nicest people I know. So heartbreaking to see their country so mismanaged like this!
Im going to miss Lenny and Venezuela in your vlogs. I know I'm always heaping praise on you're content but the rawness and and selflessness to go into a frankly damgerous country then make amazing content is awesome. Fantastic series and here's to the next adventure.
As a Venezuelan American, thanks for such an authentic representation of Venezuela, its people, and the terrible moment in time they are enduring. Each of your videos impacted me profoundly, and allowed me to share so much with my family and friends.
Your videos on Venezuela are fine. I like it so much . You showed both sides life. Rich and poor people, their life on a single room. The videos take us to another world. beautiful nature and really adventurous to go there. THANK YOU NICK.
I left the country 6 years ago... I'm in tears right now... but thank you Nick from the bottom of my heart❤ God bless you. Y muchas gracias a Lenny por cuidarte. Viva Venezuela libre 🇻🇪
@MiG-23 it's my country! US only helping to get us help, as you have to cut the head off of the snakes in power. Don't talk about what you don't know. mig which is russian plane word. Your country only helped the government!!!! This makes me so mad when people from country like russia that helped destroy our country for their own gain!!! We want us help not russia anymore as that has no worked out!! 🇻🇪🇺🇸
@MiG-23 this still nake me mad! Your country is only supporting this terrible government and do not care about the people!!! We want friends with the US and their friends now, not russia anymore! 🇻🇪🇺🇸
MiG-23 You are absolutely correct. Just because some Venezuelans don’t agree with you does not mean you are not correct. Remember, there are people in the United States who think Trump is a good president. You don’t have to be from Venezuela to know what’s going on in that country. I’ve been there and I know more than some Venezuelan people living in the United States. All that being said, life is extremely difficult there for many. Multinationals, the United States and its allies, the world bank and the IMF have screwed the country at every turn. The sanctions are keeping medicine, food staples and repair parts needed for hospital equipment from reaching the country. People are dying because of this. If this is how a Venezuelan person wants help from the United States and its allies then all they really care about is themselves.
@@MrKindermusik russia partnership is a big driver of our government in that they support this terrible president and government. US sanctioning us hurts in short term but will help long term. This is long game
An emotional series. Thank you for this extraordinary look at present day struggles of the people of Venezuela. In particular, a special shout out to Lenny who looked out for you while while taking you to visit the good people of Venezuela living their day to day lives under such challenging times . Peace.
Thanks for this great look at Venezuela. I made multiple trips there in the glory days of the eighties and nineties and was amazed at the daily struggle residents face now
Thank you man, I've been following your videos as a Venezuelan... I think that what you did is admirable. To show the world truth about our country, without staining it with political truth (this is very hard to do, specially for Venezuelans). This videos are raw in the best sense of the word.
I lived in Venezuela in 82-83. It was such a great time. People were happy large middle class, mobility. Entrepreneurship. Hopefully, freedom and the ability to succeed, freewill thought will come back. They can do it again. I lived in Cabudare, Barqusimeto, Maracaibo, Cabimas and Machiques. I loved the people and the Country. Barqusimeto is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I always wanted to go back to visit.
This should be required viewing for all the leftists in the U.S.A. Antifa needs to see that the current Venezuela is what their actions are leading too. That in the U.S.A. there are infiltrators in congress and running for President. Bernie Sanders, AOC, the other two muslim ladies who weren't received in Israel, Pelosi etc. That is what their work leads too. Venezuela. God bless the country mine (at risk of becoming Venezuela and poor Venezuela right now) Love to your people there! Amor para ustedes. Que Dios Les Bendiga!
thank you so much for coming to our country and for sharing our reality here in venezuela, god bless you and don't forget Venezuela will always be your home whenever you wish to return. hopefully, our bad situation will change soon so you can enjoy every moment and every place without thinking about dangers or problems we currently live with.
Thanks for bringing to life the stories that my Venezuela friends had shared. So heartbreaking for such beautiful resilient people. 🙏🏻 for Venezuela. ❤️ and safe travels.
I would just like to add, it is really difficult to know what the real situation is like in these countries - MSM always has an agenda so it is really refreshing to see content that doesn't have any kind of political affiliation nor motivation. I enjoyed your travels in Iran for the same reason.
@@jameshumphrey9939 You are right on the spot Mr. Humphrey. If you want to invest in Venezuela for huge profits in the short term (assuming the political situation changes) or know anyone interested, don't doubt contacting me! I'm from the country and still reside here so I can lend you a hand in the investment process.
Venezuela is in crisis... yes. But people is still living, getting married, having children. Life doesn't stop because of the situation. It just makes it harder and at the same time the small joys are more fulfilling. I am from Venezuela and someone once told me: When things go wrong you wait for a spark of happiness and make it an explosion to last longer to endure the times when things are not so great. I think those words summarize very well Venezuelans philosophy. Make the most of the small joys that life gives you. Bittersweet... Also, you can't underestimate the strength that comes from family support... Venezuelans rely heavily in family and from there, we get the joys that keep us going.
The spirit of local people is so bright, strong and beautiful energy shines through that horrible situation that everyone has been dealing with. The place itself is so unique and I feel like so long as everyone can keep standing for what is right, and working together to make your communities stronger inspite of these hardships, the days of victory will be truly amazing! I am praying for you all and many of my fellow Americans I know are doing the same, we hope that you guys can stay strong through these times and know you have many individuals praying for you all!! Love from USA🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great job Nick, .........I am from Venezuela myself and have lived in Australia for 28 years........never been back to my country or have seen my family for the same time............. there is so much to the complexity of the tragedy in Venezuela but I praise your work............not many people can report about Venezuela without being too biased, or too grim, or too naive or simply too ignorant, since we native Venezuelans often struggle to find the right words or to explain what’s really going on without getting confused ourselves.........you were very lucky to have Lenny and Jose with you.........I am totally convinced your experience would have been vastly different should you not had their guidance and assistance...........you were also very lucky to have experienced the real hospitality, humanity, joy, warmth and openness of our people.........that’s who we really are in despite of our problems and idiosyncrasy ..........I will keep an eye for your coming videos and look forward to the Q & A ........once more thank you Nick for your time and honesty ..........if you ever come down to Melbourne and would love to have a cup of coffee .........I’m up for that................
Hi Nick! Venezuela is extremely difficult to understand from outside. You made a great approximation of what it really is. Thank you for showing what it is going on there. It helps to show what this political-economical crisis has done to my beautiful country. I'm sure you saw we still believe everything is going to change, and the country will be even greater as it was in the 80's.
Is very easy to understand, the history repeats it's self over and over again, same what happened in many Latinamerican countries The USA wants to control every single country so they can exploit and steal recources. With coups, sanctions, or even murdering elected leaders. Only the ignorant and brain washed don't understand this.
Christian Brandstetter it’s funny because you are the fool and the brainwashed. Yes many evil politicians have lied to the people in the US to get into power only to take advantage of the system and do wrong things. But overall the US is the best force on earth right now and any country that the US was successful in changing it’s government has been prosperous. You’re the sheep because you only mention the bad things that have come out of America but failed to see the great things this country has done. Name another country who has done so much positive in this world. You’re also dumb for not understanding politics and not knowing how shit works. The only way for a country to help it’s citizens overthrow their corrupt government without a war is by sanctions. Obviously at first it’s usually the people that suffer the most, but overtime things will change. It’s funny because people in Venezuela and Iran don’t hate the US for what’s done and actually love America. If you meet with any of this people most of them will complain to you about their government. Venezuelans will say socialism and Iranians will say their sharia law run country.
@@nevadadavoode83 Well I'm sorry for you ignorance and how brainwashed you are, but the truth is out there you just have to open a book or go to those country and talk with ppl what about the Syrian war? Look how the US supported ISIS rebels with CIA help to drop chemical bombs and then blame Assad? Is over the news world wide and the IRAK war on false accusation How many millions die and still dying? What about the Coup in Chile elected president? Pinochet killed thousands of ppl! Now who is the ignorant? What about Vietnam, still they are ppl dying of cancer from orange agents? Are you just stupid or what or maybe CIA troll? USA is the cancer in the world. This just the tip of the iceberg.

Special appreciation to Lenny, he has been a wonderful and helpful man, and our prayers and thoughts are always with them; Venezuelans. With love from Nigeria. Muchas Gracias!!!
This whole series of videos has been amazing, great work, as a Venezuelan still living here is good to find a great way to show my friends abroad the duality of living in a country like this, I was wishing you manage to get into the border with Colombia since the things are way different than what you saw in Caracas, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse, but THANKS for capturing the lovely essence of my people, wish you the best on your next journey.
Thanks for this series of videos of my country. I'm still living here, and I really hope that we can go trought this nightmare that we're actually are living soon and you and the world could come and meet better Venezuela. God bless you, Nick.
Never forget this quote: "The ONLY thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing" You, Sir, are a good man. But we need more good men and women in Venezuela. People are dying and suffering. Please help Venezuela and her people.
Fantastic series Nick! I grew up in Venezuela but left before Chavez, while it was a relatively decent place to live. You have brought to light the BEST and most realistic portrait of the current situation. The videos in this series should be part of the collective memory in the future so future generations can remember and see the outcome of bad governments, corruption and greed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
I am so happy i found this site. I have never been out of the USA, now as an old lady i can travel the world as it is. Not just see the advertised tourist sites. So beautiful, yet so sad. Thank you.
I was in Caracas in the early 1970’s and dearly loved the city and also the people. One place I ate dinner was the Humbolt Hotel. One evening Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken was also there at the same time.
Intense journey and a real eye opener. Thank you Lenny and all those who have helped Nick be safe in your beautiful but troubled country. Wishing all Venezuelans find peace very soon. Thank you for sharing such an amazing journey, and of course I can't wait to see where you turn up next.
Yes, Caracas is still a beautiful city because the people of Venezuela are real people just like you and I. I was saddened to see how much the country has changed since I first went to Venezuela in 1975. Caracas was an international city with a very robust economy and sure, they had squalor and poverty back then too. But it looks like the slum area of the city has grown to tremendous size as compared to back then. There is an island of tall buildings and the center of whatever commerce there is just like there was back then. When I was there the traffic was pretty heavy in the city. it reminds me of Cuba in a way. There are very few modern vehicles running around like back then. There is definitely a note of poverty everywhere you turn the camera. Back in 75 people walked around in the fashions like the U.S. was wearing and they were up with the latest fashion and there was an air of prosperity back then. You really didn't worry too much about getting robbed or accosted then. We went where we were warned not to go and we got along very well with everyone in the so-called red zone. I think it is a matter of how you present yourself to people and whether you show people respect or not. If you try and talk to people like you are no better than they are you will get that back. I hope this country does not fall into war because it is already hard enough to live there. What it needs is some great leadership and someone that wants Venezuela to be a free and open society and equal rights for all.
you can't imagine how lucky you were, that this trip went completely safe. I left the country 5 years ago and I have the dream to go back to visit but I don't dare to do it. Thanks for showing us our home.
Huge respect from Brasil, Nick! Even though my country is right next to Venezuela, I was never sure if the news about it were just propaganda, biased or sensationalist, but now that I've watched your videos, I see that the situation is even worse than one could have imagined. I hope that the good Venezuelan people can get their country on track again and that all those horrible stories will come to an end and be healed! Thank you very much, man. You are great!
Thank you so much for this series! Sharing this ment allot for the Venezuelan people and my self as well. I've been sending what I can as far as care packages to Venezuela as I follow the sad stories of about 20 different individuals in Venezuela from all corners of the country. Some have left and I've followed there migrations and some are still trying to ride out the storm. Thanks again!!!!
Nick, I have followed your videos for some time now but this series tops them all. It’s authentic, it’s realistic, and unfortunately it provides the viewers with the raw data needed to conclude that the situation is unlivable. Un abrazo grande a Lenny y a José por su valor, su optimismo dentro de esa vorágine, y su fidelidad a Venezuela en las buenas y malas. God bless!🙏
Absolutely amazing series and told from the heart from the people you met and yourself. This was journalistic in its quality and questioning. It was eye-opening how quickly a society can go from relative security to chaos and danger. I truly wish for the people of Venezuela a turnaround to a better future. It looks like it's going to be tough but from watching these videos there is no doubt the people of that beautiful country have the resolve, resilience and even patience to work through this dark period and come out the other side with a rare and precious wisdom. Truly great work in a difficult situation.
This has been an eye-opener, my dude. Can only imagine the rest of the things you have witnessed. Thanks for sharing a more real image of the situation than mainstream media normally would. Hope you have an awesome adventure in your next destination too! All the best, Nick :)
I'm so sad this series is over. I really miss Venezuela and my city Caracas, I wish I could be there and see my parents again. But as many Venezuelans, my passport is expired and it is impossible to renew it at the consulate. So I can't leave for the time being the country that is hosting me until I get my new citizenship. But I keep strong and think of them and help them from abroad, it's the only way I can support them. Thank you for your time to make these videos.
Wow! This series of Venezuela is a must see for all people. Thank you for bringing your experience to us, it is so appreciated. Safe travels and I look forward to your next video.

As the majority of your Subscribers i would like to say what a great job you have done giving the world of RUclips an insightful unbiased view of what is going on in Venezuela. So thank you. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Venezuela that they will come through this. Also big thanks must go to all the people who helped you make this series of videos and kept you safe.
Incredible series of videos. I am from Venezuela and sadly I had to leave to the country years ago but the situation nowadays is even worse from what I lived. I really admire your courage, and Lenny's, because you went to very dangerous places that as Lenny says, locals don't dare to go. It impresses me that after being in other countries such as Iran or several Sub Saharan African countries you say that Venezuela has been the most overwhelming. Finally, thank you for sharing this to the world. Honestly, thank you. Even though in the past years we might receive some media coverage, what media can say is not even close to the real situation and the vibe it gives being in such a place with such hard conditions.
@GG I am not talking only in terms of crime or poverty, I also meant hostility towards outsiders or foreigners. I haven't seen the episodes of Iran but I would guess if you are a blond guy with a camera filming and walking around you wouldn't feel very safe.
@@andresdascoli151 ... As a fellow Venezuelan, I have to tell you that you are coming off as quite ignorant. Iran is a safe country. The Persians are very friendly people towards travelers because they actually feel grateful for their visits. The Persians also go from black to blond. There are blond Iranians that look like the Indigo Traveler, and there are some that look like you. I felt perfectly safe and welcomed in Iran. Iran and Venezuela are the same in that they were prosperous oil nations damaged by their own governments, but that's the only thing they are the same in.
Iran's government is very repressive, to locals and outsiders. I actually know someone who was retained and had its passport taken for a day before leaving and got asked a bunch of questions because of "suspicious activities". So I am not talking about the its people's eduction or any of the things you mentioned, I am talking of its repressive government and how they might see as a threat having a westerner filming around. However, I am going to watch Indigo Traveller's series of videos on Iran which most probably will be as representative as this one was on Venezuela and I might change my mind. Hope this makes my point clear as I wont be replying to this thread anymore. Cheers.

Manni Interrupted that’s exactly what happened to me when I moved from Puerto Rico to United States. They normalize this things. When you actually come to a place where people obey they law and follow the rules that blows your mind.

Again, international for who? Everyone?
you can't imagine how lucky you were, that this trip went completely safe. I left the country 5 years ago and I have the dream to go back to visit but I don't dare to do it. Thanks for showing us our home.

Cheers.

This was one of the best travelogues I’ve seen. Thank you for showing an unbiased view of Venezuela and what is actually happening there.

Socialists are despicable. They are so lazy, dumb and helpless they ate their pets and zoo animals.
What if Venezuela never broke away from Colombia?
Thanks for the very informative journey thru Venezuela, the country I grew up from 1963 until 1970 without doubt the best years of my live and how sad to see where it has gone...
Excellent production values with your videos, my friend. Well done. When I think about the economic trouble and corruption in Venezuela I am reminded of the phrase, "there, yet, for the grace of God, go I." I pray daily for the good people in Venezuela and for good times to return there soon.
Man! It is hard to see your hometown like this... Nick mate your words and your wishes touched my heart and I'm sure every venezuelan heart as well. Good luck!
