    Thanks DW, the one single most crude and real video I've ever watched from Venezuela. Without unnecessary cuts and distortion. Just very few YT's and independent journalists dare to go deep down there and show what is like. I have Vzlan friends from that region and they confirm both translation and depiction are all accurate. Thanks for nagging consciences.

    If I counted correctly, that woman is on her 8th pregnancy - at 33. It's hard to see why people continue to have children in such circumstances, but at the same time, I understand that living in such extreme poverty and hopelessness, combined with a lack of education, people make choices that aren't based on logic.. I"m sure birth control is available, but the drive to do what is familiar and socially sanctioned, is so strong...if what we see is everyone, (including our closest family) having multiple babies, starting from the time they're teenagers - we do the same, even if we know it's going to cause more hardship - both for ourselves and a future human.

    • @contessad533
      @contessad533 Месяц назад +3

      I would also like to come at this from a different cultral and medical angle. I’m not sure the cost of birth control there but I come from a small developing island in the caribbean and medications can be very expensive because of supply shortages. For context, I now live and canada and we have to stock up on medications to send to my grandma back home since its cheaper that way (about $100 CAD for 3 month supply vs $400 ECD for 1 month supply). So in a couple place like venezuela that has even political and societal issues, i cant imaginr how hard it would be to get your hands on birth control pills. Along with that, in countries that have a strong historical culture of using holistic and natural medicines taking birth control pills might be looked down upon.

    If I'm hungry, living a deplorable life, absolute misery and despair, no access to birth control, I would choose not to have sex ever again than bring another human to this world to suffer and starve with me.
    Am I the only woman that thinks like that? Is sex more important to these women than saving innocent children from starvation?

      In Venezuela, people who can afford to live there use US dollars, Euros, Brazilian Reals and Colombian pesos as currencies due to their own businesses and remittances especially in the big cities. By 2022, the Venezuelan government made a market liberalization of the economy because they knew that people were leaving in large numbers, but in the small towns of Venezuela, especially in western Venezuela, people are struggling a lot to meet the needs of their communities and families.Yes some parts of Venezuela is a failed state.Yes, the US and foreign sanctions are part to blame for the chaos in Venezuela and sanctions countries but the sanctions don’t hurt the Venezuelan government it only hurts the people in Venezuela.

      When you ally yourself with corrupt tyrannical regimes like Russia or China you can't expect anything but corruption and tyranny, and the poverty, oppression and misery that comes with it.
      Brazil is following the same path, it's literally becoming a failed state since they alligned themselves with Russia and China. The economy grows "virtually" but the poverty, crime and desperation keeps growing.
      There's a reason why democratic countries are more prosperous and advanced, it's because freedom promotes creativity, iniciative and development. People come up with ways to prosper instead of being dependent on Government crumbs.
      Good luck to all the fools in BRICS. They're nothing but discardable heap to their russian and chinese masters, sold by their own leaders.

      So that they can be exploited by another super power? Nayib Bukele is a fascist opportunist who wants people to think that since he's imprisoning the "right" people in mass that everything is okay now. I condemn the Venezuelan government but that does not mean I'll open my arms to a pathetic puppet such as Milei or Bukaley.

    The best showcase of the fallacy of socialism. The communist countries that survived today are more capitalist than the democracies. The latter even has more social programs than the communists because it gives the politicians votes. And yet, these people are manipulated to point blame to the outside world when their misfortune is the direct doing of their own government. As they say, if you cannot beat them, join them. But Venezuela, or should I say, their government, chose to isolate themselves and fight an economic and political battle they will never win, because that is the only way they can stay in power for as long as they can.

    Hugo Chávez is to blame for all of this, he and everyone who voted for him between 1998-2013, who voted for Chavismo, is an accomplice to everything. Venezuela is where it is today because of Chávez and his voters! So much so that they said that Venezuela would not be Cuba, and now it has become Cuba. The worst thing is that our neighboring countries (like my country, Brazil) are paying for something that we are not to blame for or responsible for. Several Venezuelans are now arriving in our countries, which in some regions do not even have the conditions to take care of their own citizens. We Brazilians, Colombians, Ecuadorians, Chileans do not deserve this! 😭

    It sickens me to see if tge economy is at a downfall an no jobs shortage of food what is the reason for getting pregnant after having 4 or 5 children behind u as a woman a Lil dignity and heart they can't hav they are just bringing children in this world to suffer I saw a part in the documentary the mother sending her three toddlers to get food while she bosses them around to go cause she hav to rest her pregnant 🤰 belly what a total shame I see no problem with the country is how u make it to be and create it to be I will plan first an make sure I'm fiantially able and capable of getting pregnant 5 or 6 times also they are some how lazy as well they rather lay down for a man rather than to go hunt for a job to feed the themselves and the one child they hav instead they would lie down hungry and get pregnant this is notbthe children's fault they are chikdren y do this to them

    • @a.a.12945

      U seem to be lacking a heart. The first little girl just spoke of how much she misses her mom because she loves her and her siblings so much. Also it can take a minute or less to get pregnant, and pregnancy is not easy. It doesn’t surprise me people have intercourse especially in such depressing situations when your mind and emotions are all over the place. They probably do not have birth control either. Also if you state there are no jobs, then how are they going to find these said jobs? I can only thank God I don’t live on a society like this and if I did and found myself as the mother or child in this situation is would be soul crushing to be judged so harshly. You aren’t on some moral high ground by acting so concerned about these children’s lives and belittling or shaming their mothers. It’s really unkind , lacks empathy, and really contributes nothing positive. Also it takes two to make children. People with privilege snap at their kids in public and behind closed doors, villainizing these women is ridiculous and I’m sure most of them already feel horrible enough. Some things are better left unsaid when they are rooted in judgement as it provides no value to others or the world
