DSB Class CO (XI) from Dekas - Unboxing, Passengers, Light and Weathering

DSB class CO (XI) coaches were a product of the Danish state railways rejuvenation programme from the mid-1930s to the late-1950s. The programme saw a number of older coaches from around WW I rebuild into more modern rolling stock. Especially in the early years the rejuvenation program saw a lot of experimentation and this particular coach was one of only four revamped in this particular way. The modernisation could be seen in the then new split windows, high back leather seats and inner walls in birch veneer. The coaches were divided into two large compartments, one for smokers (the largest) and one for non-smokers (the smallest) and they could seat no less than 78 passengers. The class CO coaches were used both in local traffic and as reinforcements in long haul trains and the Dekas model is thus a very versatile piece of equipment on the layout. Nice video - and very beautiful coaches. I have them too and I think I will try with passengers and light. Unfortunately I drive Märklin - it is bit more complicated 😊. What kind of camera do you use for your videos ?

Hi, great and inspiring video. Thank you! Which Viessmann lightstrips are you using? Did you wire it for DC? Would these lightstrips also work for DCC ? Thank you! Erik

Hi Erik!
The light strip is a Viessmann 5050 Waggon-Innenbeleuchtung, Warmweiss. I run DCC but the strip will also work for DC and even AC if I understand the instructions correctly.

Sorry, I forgot to record that bit. It is not difficult at all but you have to solder. The wires goes from the Viessmann lights to two metal contact points at the bottom of the model.
