  • In the nomenclature of the Danish State Railways (DSB) class CM described a passenger car with side aisle, wooden body (sometimes covered with metal plates) and at least 64 seats. This was obviously a pretty broad description so the class covered a very mixed batch of coaches in very various designs built from 1897 into the 1930s. Complicating things even further a number of rebuild coaches were added to the mix so at the end a total of 11 CM subclasses existed. The subclass CM (VII) coaches came from a series of older coaches build 1908-1910 and originally delivered with large steam heating boilers. Many of these boiler coaches were rebuilt in the 1930s and ten of them became CM (VII). Since they were rebuild at different DSB workshops and at different points in time there were some differences in details such as roof vents and plate joints. However, common to the coaches were the barrel roofs and mirror glass windows through which you could clearly see the control handle for the steam heating in the compartments. The rebuild CM (VII) coaches were very versatile and used in all types of trains, from mixed local trains to fast express trains. Unfortunately, none has survived. The model is from Danish manufacture Dekas and it really is top notch! From the intricate piping underneath to the interior of the compartments, the level of detail is first class. Luckily, more coach models are underway from Dekas so there is plenty to look forward to. Good work! I think that taking the time to put in seated passengers always makes a big difference

Thank you!! Unfortunately, you have to cut a lot of feet off ( not shown in the video), but I agree. It’s worth the trouble.

Ja, Dekas’ modeller er helt i top! Jeg tror jeg vil prøve indvendigt lys næste gang. Sikkert Viessmann, som jeg har brugt før. 🚂
