This loco sounds and runs to perfection. I can't say that for my SNCB 5204 version. I'm at the second replacement and have the same problem of the sound & lights cutting out 5 seconds after upstart. I can get the sound & lights on when running. But the sound while running is the same as idle and as soon the loc stops sound and lights cut out. No brake sound when set to speed step 0 - nothing. No reaction from Piko to my emails - even in german. I'm very disappointed and instead of enjoying this loc it's only stress ! I run on NCE Power Cab DCC and wonder if the decoder is NMRA compatible - reason for the problem ??? Success with yours !

It was just a matter of setting CV 250 to value 1 to make the decoder available for ALL DCC Stations since the latest update on the SmartDecoder XP 5.1. Now the 5204 SNCB engine runs and sound perfect ! It is time PIKO makes the FULL CV List available for users as do other makes like ESU and Zimo just to name a few. I added a Brake Function F25 by setting CV 142 to a value of 25. You can adjust the brake distance with CV 141 and response with CV 143 for high speed / CV 144 for slow speed.. For DCC set CV 145 to 4 or 8. This adds more control fun too. All the best and success. Cheers, Filip

Så mangler vi bare nogle DSB passagervogne i den korrekte 1/87 længde fra Piko
Der er da heldigvis lavet masser af korrekte DSB passagervogne fra andre producenter, så man ikke behøver sidde og vente på Piko ;o)

Sorry to hear your NOHAB is not working properly.
Have you tried running your locomotive on a model railroad with a different dcc system?
