possibly the best scene in harry potter in my opinion... it makes me feel sad and heartache like no other movie has...
me too man
MDBL yeeap
The fact that in literally any other movie the participating characters in such a scene would share a kiss after...
Im 6 years late but yess🥺

"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." -Albus Dumbledore
Anne-Sophie Sheridan Paré dude your profile pic is the Deathly Hallows! Nice dude I can even see it in a very small screen
😍
That line makes so much more sense after the deluminator scene
YAHHHH
Yep, "You know who" really liked killing people 😏.
This scene is my favorite scene because Harry and Hermione didn't end up together. It really shows that a male and a female and be close friends and care for each other without other people telling them that they belong and should date or be together. Harry knew her so well. He knew how to make her happy again without saying anything.
Every time someone brings the prospect of romantic love between the two of them in relation to this scene my first thought is you ruined it.
My second thought is that you missed the entire point of the scene and thus how truly beautiful it is because it's not about romantic tension finally boiling over; it's about two friends finding hope in the mist of darkness through a simple little moment that holds more power than most of the films.
+469ka37 I said "My favorite" which applies my opinion :)
+469ka37 it does mean hope during darkness that's true but that'd not what i was focusing on
not even God could explain it better than you
Cause it's a movie. In reality this is stupid...
What I think gets people about this scene is the time in the film that it comes. They're no closer to destroying the horcrux, they're tired, they're hungry, Ron has left and with very little chance he can find his way back, every day is danger, Voldemort is winning, and hope is on a very thin thread. The stakes and the issues are massive and there is something poetic to the scene where a simple dance between friends can make all of that disappear even if its for a minute. I actually got a lump in my throat to this scene in the theatre. I know its not a part of the book but I think David Yates caught something very true and sincere.
That's exactly it.
This is one example of screenwriters adding in a scene and it actually works. Love this so much.
And I always took this as a strictly platonic expression of their relationship.
Ditto. It's perfect.
This song is about the Holocaust 😔
This scene and song to me was the purest form of love. Not romantic, nor platonic, but the essence that love can overcome anything, that even in the darkest hours, a glimmer of light can come...
Their friendship is perfect, and i wouldn't have changed it for anything. I love the way she's always protecting him, and I think it speaks so much about how much he cares for her by noticing how upset she was and taking this moment make her feel better, to show her that she's important to him and that he cares. That's love, and that doesn't necessarily need to be romantic love. Their friendship is beautiful and they don't need to be anything else
She's the sister he never had. Ron is the brother he never had. The Weasleys are the family he always wanted. Harry would have never wanted to split that. Hell, that's why he was so scared in the Half Blood Prince (book of course) about the prospect of losing them when Ron was dating Lavender. I loved that JK made their relationships plausible and non traditional by movie standards. They're FAMILY without being blood. The truest of friends.
eu sempre me apaixono pelo meu melhor amigo mais eu nuca assumir nenhum romance com ele mais sei que ele me ama por ser especial para ele como ele e pra mim também e tem um ditado que diz que na amizade nasce o amor
I ship them 😍
@@HarryPotter-zz5nl they had a really good friendship, nothing more. I personally think they're more like siblings than friends
This part always makes me smile like an idiot because I'm never gonna get a friend like Harry....
And I a friend like Hermione
Let me correct you'll never find a stupid turd getting friendzoned
@@Imozep4Live soo accurate
Dude I wish!!!!
It makes me cry
Makes me cry every time. One of my favorite scenes in all of the Harry Potter films; I'm so happy that the writers decided to add it in, it was excellent character development for both Harry and Hermione. Plus, this song is absolutely phenomenal.
I love that intensity in this look between them when they stop to dance : the moment floats, just a few seconds, they look at each other and I'm sure they both thought '' what if ... ? '' but they're just friends, or brothers-sisters relationship, but it was beautiful to see how much Harry cares about Hermione, she's sad and desperate, so he tried to make her smile and it worked but just for one minute ..
This scene is so well-acted
A revolution without dancing is no revolution at all.
One scene hits me harder than this one, and that is when Harry is looking at Snape's memories after Snape was killed in Deathly Hallows Part 2. Just seeing his love for Lily Potter was truly amazing. And, in my opinion, the best quote from Harry Potter came from these little scenes: when Dumbledore says "After all this time?" And Snape says:
"Always."
omg same. those are my favorite two scenes probably.
This shows that long-term romance aside, when two people are scared and hopeless and lonely, exertion of friendship and intimacy is so important...combining together to give one another solace.
you just got it my friend
i think i felt my heart re-break watching this
This scene is so beautiful. their friendship is so amazing, and Dan and Emma did a superb job on this . Ugh did anyone else cry when they first saw this scene cause it is really touching
i cried to this song last night because it’s so nostalgic and magical in a way. it talks about a train and friendship... it’s so beautiful and it just makes me wanna be there with them at Hogwarts even more.
And the responsibility the next generation has.
I didn't cried when Jake and Rose or romionjuliet didn't ended together but my heart was torn apart and I am still depressed when these two didn't ended together
Same
Such a wonderful scene..
it's as if this song was actually written for Harry Potter, the lyrics are perfect
+Cameron Hayward It was actually written for the Holocaust in case you didn't know but I agree, it's perfect.
there relationship is perfect as friends but after reading and watching the movies so many times I literally can not picture her with anyone but Ron
Fairy Hill I probably would of agreed if she actually wrote it as them as a couple she also said she regretted not doing that, that's one thing that must really annoy her even though hp is so popular there will always be something that she wish she did differently
No harry Hermione are made for each other
I love the touch of the radio noise in the background at the beginning of the song. Beautiful
People say this scene was pointless and came out of nowhere because it wasn't in the book, but i found it brilliant and extremely tender, it's like if Harry and Hermione are having an entire conversation without actually talking.
I get chills everytime I watch it, bravo to whoever chose to put that scene in the movie!
This scene was a show on how close Harry and Hermione were. People saying that such close friends cannot go romantic simply NEVER got in such kind of powefull relationship. The so called 'sexual tension' between Hermione and Ron could also be seen as two extremely difrent people fighting each other to no end, and as such, a relationship based on snipping at each other would never end well, for both parts...amazing how people DESIREs such kind of relationship, and yet cannot see a romantic relationship being born of such amazing and profound friendship such as Harry and Hermione's.
Hermione was Harry's concience (his own inner voice was HERS when thinking he was about to do something stupid...and people simple took it as nagging...) and was his rock when EVERYONE ELSE, including his so called best friend, left him behind....if that isnt adamantium solid ground for an amazing relationship, I cannot imagine a better one. It could go either way. JK simply choose to keep to her own initial plot, forgetting to see how her charaters took their own paths ajusted to it (and writers DO KNOW that that happens...a lot....) and forced it back were she wanted....book 6 was horrible (and thats a consensus by almost everyone in the fandom...) and book 7, specialy the crapilogue, was atroundinly horrible, rushed and out of nowere...if, at least, the crapilogue did not exists....everyone could develop its own ending...making it up absurdly more believable and well made...way beyond of what we got from the author herself....
The interview snipets may be being taken wrongly (yeah...confirmation in a few hours...) but I do not care. Many nay sayer sites all around teh web are going crazy, shatting their virtual pants...specially those that were awfull against H/Hr shipping...and if the interview snipets end up being true...vindication at last...
Harry and Hermione DESERVED each other, for they COMPLETED each other....and thats not ever gonna change for me.
Yeah they are the best couple ever
This hits me right in the feelings, ahhh I'm addicted
Awww I love this so much! I wish I had a friend like him!
Yeah an idiot that you can friendzone...unfortunately it is only a movie
Same
It always makes me smile... This scene makes my day!
Love how they added Nick Cave's magic to the series. Really enjoyed this little scene of levity in a dark time.
One of the most beautiful scenes in Harry Potter smiled totes :)
I adore this scene. There is such an intimacy here. They have known each other for so long, and he knows her, he can tell she's hurting, and he knows how, if only for a few moments, to ease that pain. Just this silly moment, a break from such horror around them, something to make her smile, and then at the end it just fades. This is a perfect moment. The writers could have put a kiss here, and not even for romantic purposes but simply because of the desperation and loneliness, but instead they have this beautiful little scene together. This is, by far, the best moment in all the movies in my opinion.
Best scene with best couple
It's amasing how much they said to each other in this scene without actually uttering a single word!
This is such a beautiful and heartbreaking scene, I had to cry and I wish I could have a friendship like the one between those two
it makes me so happy when i listen to this i'll never stop smiling till the day i die
My favourite song in my favourite film! Holy!!
2022 and this scene still gets to me
Just because JKR said that she shouldn't be with Ron, doesn't instantly mean she should be with Harry.
People aren't saying that Hermione and Harry should be together just because JK said she shouldn't be with Ron. JK also said, in the same interview, that she believes that Harry and Hermione would have made a better match. "The famed British author went on to say that the book-smart female lead should have ended up with the series' star character, calling Hermione and Harry "a better match."

Harry Hermione belonged together
I get goosebumps anytime I re watch anything from Harry potter, especially from the last three movies. It's so amazingly written and the movies are perfect!! Thanks for the video:)
props to whoever coordinated the music, fantastic choice.
the song tells the story well!
I wonder what made David Yates want to make a scene like this. Just thinking about how wholesome he is for creating a scene that gives relief, not just for the characters, but for the audience too. A much needed break. He’s so thoughtful and brilliant for adding something so pure.
I think this is a reminder that friends can share sweet amazing moments without it blossoming into a romantic relationship. Harry loves Hermione like a sister and to quote albus Dumbledore 'happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn in the light' it's a beautiful message ❤
Fave song song EVER
favorite scene of all the films, so touching while very realistic
I wish I had friends as good as this... I mean really, how more better can you get than this? It's amazing how good the acting is; like so many people have said they've said so much without saying a word.
Pure pain and bliss at the same time
The symbolism of the song is what makes this scene so tragic. It’s about children who died in the holocaust, it wasn’t just used because it’s a beautiful song but because it’s representing the tragedy of Harry and Hermione, still children, being victims of war
A brilliant song
how rare is it to find someone who can take you from despair to happiness in a few minutes..I had a friend like hat once...it is a gift
I want to dance with someone like this to this song.
Harry sen hayatımda gördüğüm en iyi karakterli insansın ve çok iyi bir dostsun. Hermione' nin üzgün halde görüp onun iyi olması için dans edip onu mutlu etmeyi çalışan çok iyi bir dostsun harry
This is my favorite part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Beautiful scene
I'd known these characters since I was a kid. Safe to say that when I saw them sharing a dance when all was lost, and all they had was each other, I cried like a kid.
Who doesn't want a friend like Harry?
awww so friggin cute🥺😭🌌🌌
It's like the perfect scene and most of the people don't get it because it's not in the books but you can understand why Harry dance with her, it was so much going on on Hermione's and Harry's mind because Ron's gone that she needed that and Harry knew and in the moment of the dance they say all the things they want to say without saying any word, it's just amazing.
"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."
This is one of those things that make you sad-happy..
one of my favorite moments of all the movies
so sweet, so true, a little happy moment despite their difficult task. love this scene, love this song
Now he can dance
Love this scene so much
when i first saw this, i didn't like this scene because it wasn't in the book and kind of came out of nowhere. but it's so beautiful, and it epitomizes harry and hermione's relationship so perfectly, i absolutely love it now.
Anybody thinking about this moment because of the current pandemic?
I cry at this scene every time I watch it.
Always always one of my favorite moments in these films.
Who else is crying like me? Love Harry Potter and Nick Cave
Ron and Hermione do have very little in common and very different views on things. I have always felt (based on the books) that there was more of a spark between Harry and Hermione than Hermione and Ron, they also have more in common and think more alike.
Yeah agreed Harry Hermione are like one of the best couple ever
Ouço essa música todo dia antes de dormir ! :)
That is why we love that movie..
The song was released in 2004, but these two heard this song in 1997! How it could be possible?
Tiago Antônio MAGIC!
I know right, this completely ruins my suspension of disbelief...
Tiago Antônio HM
Dumbledore did it!!
Tiago Antônio Hermione is a time lord.
I love this scene.. and the song.. so beautiful..
It's just sad :c damn sadness!!
I miss Harry Potter 😭 good times
ugh this makes me cry
This scene always brings tears to my eyes. Though its supposed to be happy and a breather from all the chaos going on, its heartbreaking. Seeing how broken they are in their eyes. When hes twirling her and they're smiling and laughing you can't help but think of all the sadness they keep inside. I know I'm not supposed to be crying, but I am...
To je tak strašně krásná část 😭❤
this particular moment always make me cry.....
Best couple ever , you can't change my mind
Favorite scene. This is the most happiest they have been outside of the 1st 2 films, in the darker, later ones. JK probably wanted all three to end up with someone even if it ends up not meant to be. I think of this song and it cheers me up on my most dreary day-magical!
I love this part it's like it I saying that there are not romantically involved at all but are deeper like that they have a strong friendship and it wasn't bout him and her liking each other (clear doorway for a kiss) but brother cheering up sister. Wonderful
im going to cry because just like the song titanium it means more than children-harry
I have a friend who has a twin sister, and the way he always is there to pick her up when she’s sad reminds me of Harry and Hermione in this scene. There’s no romance in the scene, it’s just pure platonic love for someone he considers his best friend and family, and that’s what makes it wonderful.
Love that friendship
İ cry everytime i watch this it makes me cry of joy.
who is watching this in 2016? :)
+Flamezilla Gaming me 3 times ;)))
Me. 😆 I love the song, too.
+Flamezilla Gaming - Time moves on, it's now 2017 on my end.
JK Rowling recently stated she regretted The Hermione, Ron relationship. Due to the fact that it doesn't make sense for them to be together. Endless marriage counseling. Lol
Yeah, Ron's not exactly the strongest person mentally either lol. I want to believe that the Hermione Granger character is not the archetype female though. She's almost irrationally wise...not smart, WISE. She's the one who makes all the right choices. So why would she go for Harry when she fell in love with Ron? We project Harry and Hermione because he's the hero...which is to say the guy with the fame/power/status deserves the girl. Well, I always thought it was beautiful that JK gave Harry a sense of loyalty to the best friend who connected him to a family he never had. Which INCLUDED Hermione. They are part of the family he never had. What I don't like...and this is something that makes it easy for people to question the writing, is how the movies downplayed Ginny. There was a reason he fell for her. She became her own young woman and Harry was taken by that. I mean, she's eventually going to become his wife...you can at least give her backstory another 20-30 minutes in the last three movies (counting DH as one)!
Yeah Harry hermione are wayy better
Siempre que veo esta escena no puedo evitar sonreir :'3
My favorite scene out of all the Harry Potter movies.
I love it cuz it shows a sense of happy sadness I love it best Harry Potter scene ever!! I want Harry Potter to be real!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing! Love the song and it is perfect for the movie.
Cutest scene I have ever watched
True friendship
I wish this part was in the book.
Katelyn Keys Katelyn Keys it wouldn't have made any sense, "Harry and Hermione danced with music playing in the background" see? loses its significance, besides this is scene is what sets the movie apart from the book, something the book didn't have but fits right in with the theme of the movie
@@MuhammadUsman-rs1ol I don't understand why it loses its significance. Did you say that because of the place arround them? Didn't they have any radio there? Stupid question I know. But i'm not in the last book yet.
Anyways, this scene fits very well for the moment.💘
@@virginiabassu9259 Losing it's significance in the sense that dancing over music is a purely audiovisual medium. Writing out a dancing scene with music in the background can become hard and useless if not done properly. I'm glad this was solely in the movie because it sets the movie apart from the book slightly and we get to SEE and HEAR this beautiful scene in the movie, something that would be hard to pull off in the book.
@@MuhammadUsman-rs1ol Ooh yes, that's right. I didn't think about it.
It's beautiful! Thank you for great video!
everytime I see this scene I cry, too much to believe that Harry Potter is gone even if he still lives in my heart
i literally started sobbing
I simply love this scene. I can't really explain what gets me so much about it.... i just love the feeling it gives...the music just takes to a whole other space .. it just makes me feel so comfortable and relaxed...the scene could have take 30 seconds longer but it's still perfect :))
if i can’t have a friendship like this, i don’t want it 🥺🤚🏼
This is second only to the Snape's memories scene. That one ripped me the fuck apart. The look on his face when he found her...
Holy crap. For once a video with a bunch of views and no thumbs down!! There is hope in this world!
this scene makes me want to sob
