This song makes me stop ni my tracks now, my father took his own life after a lifetime of putting us through pain. He said that i was a lot like him, a muck up and a weird kid, this song was playing in the car as he drunk drove me around the streets of melbourne, although he was drunk he was calmer than usual and its probably the best memory ive had with him, before this, we had just come from a footy game and were dancing around at 11 pm in the streets with all the other supporters, we ran after a tram, screaming and waving our hadns for it to stop, it didnt but we ran along beside it until a man opened the door whilse it was still moving, my dad listed me in and jumped in himself, he turned to me out of breath and laughing and held my chin, 'We did it mate, love you kid.' Although i dont get to make any more of these memories with my dad, i now realise (unfortunately far too late) that i am very much like him, we both did dumb things but we did them together, this song i played at his funeral whilst i spoke and now all i have of him is a football and a crashed and totalled car.
Listened to this song a couple years ago when walking to my best friend’s funeral. I remember sobbing when it got to this point - it just felt so powerful and I was overwhelmed with emotion. Whenever I listen to it, it makes me think of my friend now.
This is going to be my wedding song. because of Harry Potter but also all the lives lost during the Holocaust (the meaning of this song) it’s such a beautiful song.
The song actually has no confirmed meaning, though the common theory is the holocaust one. Don't let the comments deter you from using it, because we all interpret music very differently!
there’s multiple ways you can interpret this song but The song is about losing your childhood to adulthood and how no matter what happens you can’t prevent maturing, The artist confirmed it.
I love this song. It makes me feel that feeling that you get when you just did smt stupid yet it makes me smile. For some reason it reminds me of Fred idk why tho
@@Axl0809 well, my bad. In my defence, it was 5 month ago and I didn't read the title when wrote to you. And most important THE EXISTENCE OF THIS VIDEO IS WHOLE POINT OF MY COMMENT

I mean it’ll make you hella sad on your wedding day
Nick cave said he didn’t intend for this to be about the holocaust but sees why it might be interpreted that way
@@pxralax6176 where did he say that?
@@unknownname3487Not sad, emotional. It will make you feel thankful to God for being alive and having a loved one :) It's good.
