I have the 2023. It's very fun for just zipping around country roads in my area. Haven't taken it on the freeway, but I'm sure it would be fine for short stretches. I don't really understand the "beginner bike" classification. It's a small bike, but even seasoned riders can enjoy the small bike experience. Hello there, as a knowledgeable suspension setup person, the rear shock does not overload the front. The front fork spring is on the soft side, hence the dive. Especially if you are over the target weight of 70~80kg. It is setup on the soft side for beginner riders. Same as the brakes, they are not grabby for beginner riders. The front tire losing traction has to do with the tire, as it is a commuting tire. Changing to better sports touring tires will fix the traction issue. CB300R, CRF250L, CBR1k owner

I can attest that its a great first bike, I rarely wish I had more power and its fun in the corners because its so light. I got it up to 150km/h. Does 110 w ease but on the highway the wind will push u around a bit. So far I can see me having this for another season before I sell it and buy a ninja 400 or I may just keep it and get a 400?..
Have a look at the R7 if you want a sports bike man, going from a 286cc to a 400cc will leave you wishing you got something bigger. Obviously you may think otherwise, but that’s my advice
I ride a used 750, my first bike. 500lbs. I've laid it down a few times. I don't regret my decision. It's docile in first gear under 4k rpm. I had tons of experience on a bicycle and it helped. The first time I didn't stall, the thing got up to 10mph and I thought I was going to crash, but I hit the brakes, stalled, and dumped it. Success. I rode it three blocks home in first and waited 2 weeks before looking at it again. Kicked myself for spending so much, and finally tried again. I love it, but it's kinda expensive. Love it anyway.
i suggest 15t front sprocket, so tachometer instead of 10% off would be 2% off and engine rev 7% lower rpm at comparable speeds with 14t gear ratio is quite too short to be honest
forgetting the kick stand can kill. i knew a guy who went over a guardrail. doa. happened to me once. luckily in 1st gear. the bike hopped pretty far.🍻
Make it a habit to look down when operating the kickstand to ensure it is safe either when taking off or parking the bike. It becomes second nature after a while.
Why you keep comparing bigger CC bikes or your experience with bigger CC with 300R. You are just being honestly unfair with the bike intended for. Duh?
I think you are missing the point with this bike, it's not just a 'first bike', it's a quite effective city commuter and will give years of trouble free riding with minimal maintenance.
I'm undecided between this and the cbr300r as my first bike, currently earning the license nessecary so plenty of research to do. This would be a fun bike to throw around town on my days off but still have the usefulness to let me commute in style. It's a tough one for me.
If you haven't decided I had both at one time and hands-down, the CB300R is way better even though the internals are mostly the same and the CB costs a bit more. It's down to ergonomics, weight savings, and a style that you'd need to be actively trying to get tired of. I have a Tuono and a KLX300SM and my CB still has the most miles on it. Still don't regret buying it, still don't ever think of selling it.
Your in-helm microphone sounds great, also almost no background noise. What are you using? But judging from the RCA connectors very discreetly glued to your helm, it can't be a run-of-the-mill solution 😄
I wish they produce this one in Indonesia, so we don't have to pay ridiculous price for it, I want all this looks with cbr250rr engine inside (because Indonesia tax are base on cc)
my yamaha wr250r of which many say is underpowered, got up to 112 with dynojet programmer, exhaust and a yoshi pipe with open air box. maybe that 300 could get woken up a bit too.
i had this cb300r, REAL gps top speed is around 90mph, engine has max torque at 6k and max power at 8500 but gears are more optimized for acceleration than top speed, limiter hit at 10500 so well above max power
15 to 20 years ago you went to honda and picked up a cbr 600 as a first bike. My friends did the same. Dont be afraid to skip the beginner bikes. Common sense is all you need
I think you missed the point of this bike by looking at it as a beginner bike. People get too caught up on the idea of a beginner bike IMO. With the right tires and upgraded spring these bikes are loads of fun even for experienced riders.
I've noticed that all across yt. Anything under 650 is by definition a "beginner bike" Why? Why do I have to buy a bigger bike or suffer being forever a "beginner" just because smaller displacement is more appealing for fun? I shoot my bow at 40lb draw, Not 100, because I want to shoot All Day Long if I want, not because I'm weak or new.
I have this bike and love it. However, when I'm coasting in the lower gears it is a bit jerky. Especially when going down hill. Is this normal? Thank you
I personally think this jerky on and off behavior is certainly not normal and has everything to do with the fuel injection that is set much too lean to meet the Euro 5 standards, which is simply very annoying.
It's an opinion! This bike is like a larger Grom which is cool! I'm not letting this guy get me down. One guy said, keep this bike forever even if you upgrade at some point. I just want something to ride not to prove anything to anyone. It's about the pleasure of riding
@@stevencloninger1020 Don't be swayed by him. I have it. This bike is great and very torquey in the lower revs unlike the z400. It's a great bike to pleasure ride.

I've never been on a bike, so I'll have to take classes, so I'm still deciding on what engine, 300 or 500? Do I like speed? Yes, but incluso enjoy slow speeds (I had a jeep wrangler and slow is better for crawling). I just need a bike for my 30 mile freeway round trip commute, cheap on gas and comfortable. Also, $5k will be max budget and don't want to finance. Now, you did answer one concern, it's faster than a civic or corolla and I'm ok. Less than 7 seconds for 0 to 10 is good enough.
i have cb300r and i also tried a cb500f cb300r is very light and nimble, more suitable for carving windy roads for fun cb500f is heavier, confy and more suitable for highway cruising fuel economy very good on both them but of course cb300r use less fuel, but also had much smaller fuel tank a 2019-2021 cb500f would be a good value for money for sure

I bought a 2020 w 1 km on it in April. Its my first bike and I already put almost 1900 kms on it.
Is it that weak?
For the price of an r7 the cbr650r is an absolute riot with that inline 4
i suggest 15t front sprocket, so tachometer instead of 10% off would be 2% off and engine rev 7% lower rpm at comparable speeds
with 14t gear ratio is quite too short to be honest
Keep up man, greetings from Portugal
Nice content
forgetting the kick stand can kill. i knew a guy who went over a guardrail. doa. happened to me once. luckily in 1st gear. the bike hopped pretty far.🍻
Shouldn’t it have a safety switch on the side stand to kill the engine when you put it in gear with side stand down? All my bikes have it.
@@paulstanley3265 never had that on any of my vintage bikes🍻
Make it a habit to look down when operating the kickstand to ensure it is safe either when taking off or parking the bike. It becomes second nature after a while.
The intro is so funny!😄
Why you keep comparing bigger CC bikes or your experience with bigger CC with 300R.
You are just being honestly unfair with the bike intended for.
Duh?
Why compare a small city bike to a BMW 1000. It’s like complaining about a Toyota Corolla because it dose not compare to a Mercedes S Class.
Thinking about getting this for my first bike
You wouldnt put an aftermarket exhaust on your lawn mower. Yes. Yes I would.
Great video. Creative and informative. Thanks!
I think you are missing the point with this bike, it's not just a 'first bike', it's a quite effective city commuter and will give years of trouble free riding with minimal maintenance.
I like this bike. I’m looking to get my first bike and my Local shop has one of these.
I'm undecided between this and the cbr300r as my first bike, currently earning the license nessecary so plenty of research to do.
This would be a fun bike to throw around town on my days off but still have the usefulness to let me commute in style. It's a tough one for me.
i think bike got cancelled
If you haven't decided I had both at one time and hands-down, the CB300R is way better even though the internals are mostly the same and the CB costs a bit more. It's down to ergonomics, weight savings, and a style that you'd need to be actively trying to get tired of.
I have a Tuono and a KLX300SM and my CB still has the most miles on it. Still don't regret buying it, still don't ever think of selling it.
@@driftofair9691 I ended up getting the cb300r
@@izzy8609 ah yes, you made an excellent choice!
Very nice review 👍🏽
Your in-helm microphone sounds great, also almost no background noise. What are you using?
But judging from the RCA connectors very discreetly glued to your helm, it can't be a run-of-the-mill solution 😄
very nice looking bike with a comapct size and a lightweight. also good fuel efficiency
Omg I loved this video.
yo sick montage
great edit 👍
Does anyone know if the 2021 has a gear indicator. I know they added it 2022
I wish they produce this one in Indonesia, so we don't have to pay ridiculous price for it,
I want all this looks with cbr250rr engine inside (because Indonesia tax are base on cc)
Iya men 😭 motor 250 keatas jarang banget jadinya
I would love to see your opinion on the Kawasaki Z series, maybe the z400 as a direct competitor
Nice review
I miss my CBR 300R...
I dont make reviews but when I do I am impartial, well informed and objective.. stay thirsty my friends
Wow, I love this dude. He's so Honest in a good way. Still thinking of buying one these.
hes not honest hes stupid he knows nothing about motorcycles
my yamaha wr250r of which many say is underpowered, got up to 112 with dynojet programmer, exhaust and a yoshi pipe with open air box. maybe that 300 could get woken up a bit too.
i had this cb300r, REAL gps top speed is around 90mph, engine has max torque at 6k and max power at 8500 but gears are more optimized for acceleration than top speed, limiter hit at 10500 so well above max power
15 to 20 years ago you went to honda and picked up a cbr 600 as a first bike. My friends did the same. Dont be afraid to skip the beginner bikes. Common sense is all you need
Musta been rich kids huh?
@@joecamel6835 no but we all worked and I believe my loan was 250$ a month for 5 years
Solid review 👍
hard intro g
Confusing to know if you are speaking positive or negative about it. Beautiful. So you like it and recommend it eh?
That's like the best bike for the Indian roads🕺🕺
So it’s good for beginners, like me.. I also like the Kawasaki 250 and 300
Sweet buddy Sweet very passionate review
I have this bike and love it. However, when I'm coasting in the lower gears it is a bit jerky. Especially when going down hill. Is this normal? Thank you
Check the chain tension
I personally think this jerky on and off behavior is certainly not normal and has everything to do with the fuel injection that is set much too lean to meet the Euro 5 standards, which is simply very annoying.
This is a good review ❤️❤️
You just crushed my dreams of owning this bike, God haven't come across an owner who slags their own bike like you do lol
It's a great bike though personally I'ld never go less than two cylinders , it matters .
Actually it a big bike in parts of Europe and Asia . And Asia's sales no is the most of the cake
Great video man
I’m looking at this model for my first bike. Is the seating position upright?
Some testers in my country find the rear suspension a bit stiff! Perhaps it's about a different damper
I looked at this until 7:05.............and I decided I had enough ! You are reviewing a 286cc bike for about US$5,000 and whining about it as if Honda told you it was a Fireblade ! Sh*t ! There are thousands of satisfied owners out there. Other reviewers know well it is a budget/starter bike and review it in that category...............Besides, Honda knows about motorcycles more than you do !!! You get a "Thumbs Down"......Rossi !
rear suspension pre load by factory is only 2, but is good just for 40kg "wet" riders
for normal weight adults i suggest 2-3 more preload steps
Hello, I just got my motorcycle license now and I'm very undecided about which motorcycle to buy, any recommendations? I like nakeds
Trail braking would probably help prevent the front forks being overloaded.
I'm about to sell my current vehicle (2017 elantra) due to the market, I'm being offer $5k more than I owed and I have a running 2003 accord and my wife has a crossover, so I'll keep the accord for when it rains.
Less than 7 seconds for 0 to 10 is good enough.
i have cb300r and i also tried a cb500f
cb300r is very light and nimble, more suitable for carving windy roads for fun
cb500f is heavier, confy and more suitable for highway cruising
fuel economy very good on both them but of course cb300r use less fuel, but also had much smaller fuel tank
a 2019-2021 cb500f would be a good value for money for sure
cb 300 R BS6 now available in indian market..? i thougt honda stopped this model
cb 300r bs6 will be launching in jan 2022. cheeck it out
You dont have Dominar 400 in your country ?😳 In that range i thinks that bike is the best. Its jack of all trades and best value for money (same duke 390 engine)
Is it good to buy cb650r or cb300r....is the increase in engine power and cost worth the increase in fuel requirements
If you want to hear great sound of single cylinder bike. Please listen to Honda CG125 sound or Bullet sound.
We have it around $8000-$8500 USD converted.
ouch
@@Fred-ns1tl crf 300 is at 17.5K USD 🤑🤑
What you think swapilion 250 ,duke250 or appachi rr310 .. compared to this
*most people will sell this bike in a year*
wtf...
I'm riding cb300r and will not sell it anytime soon. Most of the world rides on ~125cc and it's best selling size.
"I don't need to be excited about this bike. Because, look at it's competitor...overpriced." What are you talking about. How does one thought relate to the other? 1:30
Drove one today for ny ibt really good bike the whole kickstand indicator things isnt groundbreaking as i have that technology on my honda hornet 250 from 1997 so that isnt something you should point out
Have you heard of irony?

Duke sounds like a 3wheeler autorickshaw in India😂,(duk duk duk duk)
But Honda is always like huuuuuuunnnnnnn daaaaaaaa😁
If the rear is softer then it'll take off the load from the front. Idk where u found that logic where rear soft overloads the front
wat? He said the inverse.
Na I think what's more competitive is Cb300r vs MT03
How are you man, what can you say about honda exmotion younger brother of honda cb300
The KTM is an unreliable high price maintenance bike
Bought this bike new 3 months into Covid new. Now I have 6k kilometers and I love it. Does anyone have their chain make a whole lot or noise though?
Very Noisy. Replace both sprockets and chain. Get a front sprocket with 1 extra tooth. The rear sprocket has a guard on it that acts like a megaphone and makes chain noise LOUDER!!!
Yep
@@bigmullet6145 Do you have a 15T fron sprocket on your CB300R? if so, what is it like? I'm considering putting in a 15T
It’s probably the single greatest thing I’ve done to the bike. Replace both sprockets and chain if you’ve got a decent amount of use with the current set.
@@bigmullet6145 Thanks for the info! I ONLY have 9000 kms on mine, and I clean+lube the chain quite often
Bro I don’t know what kind of cb300r are you driving, but this Maschine can go up to 150kmh. Even you are doing something wrong or the Maschine you have is broke. Which is very hard to find on a Honda segment. Anyways, the way you are accelerating seems pretty odd. My Grom is faster than that (no modes)
Came here from Ryan's video
What you all think is this bike good for (beginner) a person about 90kg and 180cm? Can springs be adjusted/hardend for heavier ppl?
Calling this beautiful beginner motorcycle a lawnmower is a lack of respect. I am surprised hearing that from an anonymous wannabe motorcycle reviewer.
It's a great bike as long as one knows it's a small engine town bike , much like a CB350 of the past many of which are still running strong.
@@joecamel6835 to bad they only brought it back it India
I need to change the handlebar on mine, it is giving me backache as it is wide and quite far for my short arms. Will handlebar risers help or can I get it bent backward by 3/4 inch?
I used a product called "BarBacks" on my GS500. Solved the problem and only takes a few minutes to install. Can quickly revert to stock for resale.
@@chris900f Thanks! I 'll check it out.
I think it would be better to compare to other bikes in its class than to compare it to litre BMW bikes.
It wasn't a comparison like "these bikes are in the same class and worth comparing" it was rather "there is a noticable difference in throttle smoothness vs more expensive engines/bikes"
@KF1 ok man idk what's your definition of comparison but what you just said is exactly that, the problem is comparing a bike that is under 6k to one's over 10k. He sounds spoiled from riding too much big bikes
yeah, please don't put soda can exhaust on little bikes :P
You shall be known as, Mr Bikelsworth
In NZ they come with ABS for about $5500nzd.
Can you do the Svartpillen 401
