I just got one I paired with a Fujifilm X-T4 (40MP). Beautiful lens. Versatile focal range. I have done some test shots. Great color. Great Focus, Even sweet bokeh. I have done landscapes, nature closeups, people and portraits. I'm very happy with the lens. Paired with a mirrorless camera it makes them easy to carry for distance. Of course, that focal range makes it a lens that can meet almost all of your needs.
I’ve watched a bunch of reviews of the lens. Without saying a word about anything technical, your pictures told the whole story of the lens. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your amazing photos and thoughts on this lens. After much thinking I bought it for my Fuji X S10 and I am blown away with its versatility I can recommend the Fuji version version. Its now my go to lens for everyday walk around..
Your video made me feel more comfortable with this l we bd as I had ordered the Tamron 17-70 as my everything, but it was shipped to the wrong store and my local shop recommended this as being better based on conversations, a very new beginner and a6000 user. Thank you. Loved the ice shots
Really appreciate you making this video. I just sent off four lenses to sell to buy this one - the two Fuji kit, the 18-135, and a mirrorless 300 mm. This lens has the same aperture, plus the weather resistance of the 18-135, plus the stabilization of the 18-135, but covers the entire distance. I bought the 18-135 to be my travel lens and tried to supplement with the Fuji XC 50-230, but this one lens will be so much better. AND my next trip will be to Iceland, so you can see why I greatly appreciate your essentially affirming my choice. Thank you.
You will really appreciate the versatility of this lens. Not having to change lenses in the Icelandic environment is great! I would love to see some images you capture there!
Thanks for posting this David. I am really excited that Tamron can now produce Fuji compatible lenses. Looking forward to getting this one when it becomes available.
I am very impressed wirh this lens! Now that Tamron is starting to make lenses for the Nikon mirrorless system, I will be waiting for the release of this lens to use with my Nikon cropped sensor cameras, especially since the Tamron 18-300 lens has optical image stabilization.
Hi David. Really enjoyed your video with comments and excellent pictures taken with this lens. I just came back from Colorado where I used the 6600 with the Sony 70-200 f4 and the A7iii with a Sony 24-105 f4. Captured some great landscape pics and some wildlife as well. Unfortunately, at 79 and back problems weight is crucial. I'm heading back to Colorado next month for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I have located a Tamron18-300 that I think it will help with the weight by taking it with the 6600 and leaving the rest of the gear back home. Also important is that it will give me that extra reach for wildlife of 150mm vs the Sony 70-200 on the 6600 body. I was on the fence but after putting it in writing, I think that my mind is made. Thanks for sharing!
Gorgeous photos! Thanks for this review. I am assessing the reviews of this lens for my Fuji X-T4. Seems like a great overall lens. Very nice that you would not need to changes lenses out in the field, this would cover it all.
I have the Sony 70-350. Im looking to buy this lens to replace it as it has the extra wide angle range. I just don’t know if the Sony out performs the tamron at the telephoto end.
Great photos. Loved the ones with ice on the beach. I have more zooms than primes ranging from 10-18 to 200-600. That a6600 acted like a magnifier with its 1.5 crop making the 200-600 into a 300-900mm zoom. BTW, how is the minimum focusing with this Tamron. My Sigma 18-50 crop sensor lens for Sony blows me away with its close focusing capability.
Traveling to Alaska, thank you for Northern Lights photo. That was my biggest question on this lens, plow light, start photography. What were your settings, how much post? You have a new sub!
@@rosetwinz I do! I don't have it on this trip but wishing I did. I needed the space in the bag for the new 50-400mm and the 150-500mm to do some comparisons. Limited space on the bear flyouts restricted me.
Hi David, Wow great photos and thanks for posting and have your photos been processed at all through editing programs. I still use my old Sony NEX 6 and am seriously looking at the Tamrom 18-300mm,the new cost here in NZ is $1250 and I have just spotted a second hand one for $950 with only 3 months warranty, just wondering if I should be concerned at buying 2nd hand so I would like to know if you have had any issues with the lens to this date. Cheers Glenn from NZ
Thanks Glenn. I do use Lightroom but very minimally. I guess the best thing to do would be test the lens to see if everything appears to be working properly.
@@davidakoubian3025Thanks for the quick reply :) I bought a second hand (low use) A6000 and a new Tamron 18-300mm. Great photo for f3.5. Everything I read suggests prime lenses for night photography and astronomy photography. Glad to see the 18-300 works well for night photos too.
Hi thanks for the review, with all these winds did you find any dust inside the lens? and can you show some pics at 100% zoom? all zoomed out cannot really tell the quality

Fantastic shots! Thank you very much for putting this review together. Hands-on experiences truly are what matters at the end of the day.

I am so tempted to buy this lens for my A6400 to replace a variety of other lenses that I have that cover the range of this one lens
@CampervanTales I keep it attached to my a6600, especially when I am limited on lens size, but I need the versatility
such a great pictures
Thanks!
I have nikon camera with their 18-300. It’s pretty much my only lens. Except for some macros. Very versatile!
Yes it is!
Awesome pictures❤️

Nice❤
Great vid! How did you handle low light shots at F6.3?
Slower shutter speeds or higher ISO. The a6600 is great with higher ISO.
@@davidakoubian3025 Wow, seems like the a6600 has exceptional grain control for an APS-C system. Thanks for the reply

I haven't used the Sony so I'm probably not a good source for a comparison. Which body will you be using it with?
@@davidakoubian3025 Ill be using it with an a6500! The IBIS should work well with Tamron's Vibration control.

The minimum focusing distance is about 2 feet.
thanks a lot ! I saw one pic of astro, is this lens okay or I better get the 28 200 on full frame for astro ? thanks
I like using full frame for astro, but this lens does do well.

Could have been fun to see how 2x clear image zoom would look like at 300mm.
What was your shutterspeed and iso when you handheld?
Most of the time my ISO was 100, shutter speeds were typically 1/250th and slower.
what will be its focal length on sony a6400??!
27-450mm

I didn't find any dust in the lens. I will see if I can get a few 100% cropped images for viewing.
Hi David! Great video. I was wondering if you noticed any chromatic aberration using the lens?
Very, very little, and that was easily corrected in LR. I imagine once they add the lens profile in LR and PS, it will be eliminated completely.
