Rick: "I'm not confident with the driver" *hits amazing driver shots* Also Rick: "Oooo Scotty Cameron, I have no excuses" *misses two foot putt* That's why we love ya, never know what you're gonna get. Congrats on 1 million
Need to respect those short putts. However, Ive respected many and recently missed one for birdie as well. Terrible feeling after hitting such a great approach shot.
🤣 golfbidder challenge. HaHa. EPIC (as Callaway would say?). Followers driver choice 🤭 FTi - Ugly? NOOO. Sound? Bit of a clang. LuvIt. Thanks Rick, you made my day. I ‘laughed out loud’ at your description of MY FTi driver. I’ve been using the SQUARE FTi in both the 9’ neutral version and 10’ draw version for years with the std.Fujikura Speeder 586 Stiff shaft and found both to be super stable, reliable and so so easy to set up and aim along the target line and are (81% on my straight driving stats) great fairway finders. I like the look of the 460 head (deep rather than wide) (still think of them as 430) with the neat Callaway V aim logo. I remember buying an American golf magazine whilst on holiday in Florida informing me of Callaway’s forthcoming iconic driver for 2007 and couldn’t wait for it to arrive in the UK - when it did I liked it so much I bought 2! and apart from adding an inch to the 9’ shaft they have both found a place in my bag regularly ever since. I did venture in to a local store for an ‘American Golf’ driver fit in July 2020 but was so disappointed with the lack lustre fit that my FTi will be making yet another season of uninterrupted grandeur. Rick, your presentations are second to none on ‘RUclips’ for warmth, candour, great great graphics, well co-ordinated pro content and just being able to nail the subject down in a short space of time for your subscribers.
Keep the great content coming brother! I’ve knocked strokes off my score as well as using your videos to help show my 9 and 13 year olds how to golf. Your channel is the only one that I really look at my notifications as soon as they come in. Thank you sir!!
@Brett Sterbens i love that driver, it just go straight, not super far, but so forgiving. So there's better driver for par player but for recreational player this is a great driver. That driver was the most expensive driver at it's time.
I had a Nike Square and it was awesome until the BLUE shaft broke in it. I bought another with a different shaft and it was the worst driver I ever had.
I had stiff Callaway FTIQ 9 dg Square driver i brought for 40 bucks in 2019 and my swing speed is only 82 mph and couldn't hit it, then I went in my garage as the Mad scientist and drilled that sucker out and put a torch on it and drilled some more with an impact drill then wrapped sandpaper around the drill bit and cleaned it out, I got a Mitsubishi Tensei regular flex and just filled that massive hole in the clubhead with 24 hour glue and ruffled up the shaft tip and put it in the Clubhead without any ferrule on the shaft tip, I did put a ferrule on the outside 335 tip of the club head shaft, and i sat the shaft in all that glue and leaned that baby against the wall with a slightly open face, you can twist or lean the shaft any way you want because its sitting in a massive pile of glue, let that baby cure for 24 hours and I love the thing, that's the Barbarian way but it worked and i cannot pull hook that thing if I tried. I love it bros.
I just gave my FT IQ driver to my brother in law, but I still game the 3 and 5 wood...they are my fail proof, go to clubs...and i like the sound reminds me of my baseball days
@Jared Doyon - I also hit the FT-IQ with Stiff Fubuki shaft and love it! Picked it up on eBay for $69 last year and I swear it had never been hit. Out drives the guys in my foursome who have new Calloway Mavericks.
Just started watching but no excuses for you with that setup. I still have a Nike square driver. It's not my longest hitting one but it's a fairway finder. Now off to finish the video ETA: Just saw that short putt miss. I busted out laughing... I know that feel though 🤣
I have an old hand me down square driver in my bag called "Big Mo" so its cool to see you use a square driver. I feel like I never see them, probably for a good reason! 😂
Im actually starting to think he missed it on purpose.. Everybody seems to love it when he misses easy shots. Maybe because it makes him seem more like them. Its either that or he's got the worst putting game on youtube
Best golf reviewer EVER!!! Always on point with the reviews and always gives great advice for any situation. I catch myself watching your Channel for hours at a time!!!! Ive drastically improved my game from doing so
You should play with Nadeshot from 100theives. He’s looking to get into golf vlogs and his channel is huge. Would give you the exposure your channel deserves and an American audience
Glad to see that you play it as it is. We have all been there many times and feel your pain. Still, got to love Golf as it is always a fresh challenge wherever and whenever you play.
Just under a month ago I didn’t even know your name rick but now whenever I find my self on RUclips I’ll always watch some of your RUclips videos found them really helpful for myself keep up the good work and congratulations on the 1 million subscribers
Don't normally comment but wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Rick for all your awesome videos. I am definitely seeing results in my game, helped me post my best men's league score yet and my first eagle in a very very long time just yesterday. Having a blast playing golf again and your videos are a big reason why. Thank you
I love how rick is bothered about the sound of the driver.... all I’m bothered about is hitting it so it’ll to land somewhere on the same course I’m playing on
Enjoy all your videos, but I must admit I *really* enjoy the ones in which you have one complete oddball club-thinking of this tin can (which-based on how you hit it-clearly deserves a permanent spot in the bag ... or in a steelpan music set) and the pink Bubba Watson driver you had in a video with Peter Finch just a bit back. Brilliant to see both what you come up with in avoiding the club, and also how you try to make it work for you.
Yeeeeessssss!!!! Finally Ricks and an FT-I driver! Why so dreading to use it? I started using it when I was 14 and played it for 5 years like a charm. Stopped playing, still in the bag today! And yes! You must love that SHBAM noise when you hit it! 🤟
@Rick really glad you got to play with the Srixon irons. I've been a huge fan of srixon for years, and are by far the most underrated brand out there. Performance is always amazing.
The Srixon Z785 irons were what I had in mind in your video about replacing the Ping blades in your bag. They seem to check off everything you were looking for. I'm think those or if Srixon comes out with a followup model is something you should consider.
I used a Nike SUMO2 SQ5900 when it first came out. I swear it sounded like you were throwing rocks at an old steel garbage can 🤣. I quickly switched back to my normal driver. It was so loud no matter how crappy you hit it that everyone looked to see who was hitting PGA bombs only to find me duck hooking into the woods. I didn't need that kind of negative attention 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Hi from Canada, I love your channel! May I ask one request please? You use so many different clubs, and your swing is very consistent. It would be SO helpful to see the yardage you get from each club, and to know what club you’re using each time. Thanks Rick!!
I used a Callaway FT iQ driver for years. It took a little while to get used to. Was always a good conversation piece on the first tee when playing a round with golfers I didn't know.
Glad you liked the Srixon irons. I’m absolutely in love with mine. Got fitted for a Z U85 2 iron to go with them can’t wait for it to come into the shop
I have a Wilson staff spine driver (in the shed not the bag) which has a square head and I remember using it and the sound was something else. not sure it did much for off centre hits, but I'm tempted to take it to the range and give it a blast. You're more than welcome to give it a go, ear defenders not provided.
That’s the driver I’ve used since my first set of adult clubs. Mine is 10 neutral. I can attest that it is so loud. You will turn some heads at the tee. I personally love the look of a square head and the head cover it comes with is such a clean look. It’s so hard to use any other driver because of the different looks behind the ball. Have never seen anyone else with a square driver so it’s cool to see a review of my old club.
I loved my square Nike Sumo driver (Still go it and use it from time to time). Won many a "longest drive" in competitions with it. I was told it was loud, but not having good hearing this didn't bother me.

Rick Shiels Golf I’ve tried to comment 3 times but when I refresh the page my comment is gone, is a mod deleting them? If so, why?
Thought we might get alittle swearing action on RUclips after that tap in miss there Ricky 😂😁
@@SpennysGamingChannelPS3PS4 No, there's an issue with RUclips
Rick Shiels Golf ok thanks rick, I’ll apologise now for when all 3 messages appear lol. Good vid and unlucky on finishing with +1

Rick: *Misses two foot birdie putt* Everyone: “He’s one of us!”
One of us, gooble gooble, one of us, we accept him
One of us
One of us
One of us
One of us
When he hits the driver does anyone else think it sounds like he is smacking a fork against a plate
Looks like it was less then 2 feet.
@@SevnZeroFive i thought he almost missed the par putt coming back -- looked like it went in on the right side of the hole :)

I need more Rick Shiels in my life - congrats on hitting the big subscriber milestone
I never laughed so hard, i had a feeling you were gonna miss that putt and the reaction made it hilarious
Need to respect those short putts. However, Ive respected many and recently missed one for birdie as well. Terrible feeling after hitting such a great approach shot.
Rick: "This driver is just awful and ugly"
*Hits great drives*
Rick: "......it's still ugly."
Played with a relative that rocked on of these. That bastard was so accurate on drives he would point to which squirrel he going to hit.
Dont forget, he didnt like the feel either
I loved my draw version for reliability but had to sell it (to Golfbidder) because it sounds like you are hitting a stone with a saucepan.... Ding!!!
Still playing my Nickent square head...its sound definitely gets attention!
I am (soon was) very happy with that driver (ruclips.net/video/pPhzq5ROo0w/видео.html )
That missed putt had me in stitches 😂

True
Rick Sheils, Pete Finch, god tier golf coaches. Would argue doing as much for golf as big tour players

Rick is GREAT, but if you want a breakdown of mechanics and how to make them happen, check out TXG and Top Speed

What an incredible channel, and a very well deserved million - Cheers from Canada
I play with a Callaway FT-IQ square driver and love it! The most forgiving driver I have hit
The FT-IQ is much better than the original. I played both. I still have the original one. It was my first good driver and I loved it.
I just gave my FT IQ driver to my brother in law, but I still game the 3 and 5 wood...they are my fail proof, go to clubs...and i like the sound reminds me of my baseball days
