Once again, kudos to Pierre for this exact, note for note transcription of what I hear when I listen to this classic canonical love song. I have seen so many attempts by other pianists on YT, but THIS is the one and ONLY I save in my piano playlist. 👏👏👏🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 So glad you're enjoying it!
Since you are in a Fender Rhodes mood, I would love to see your take on "Still Crazy After All These Years" by Paul Simon (late Barry Edward Beckett on the Fender Rhodes)...
@@fboldi Great song!!
Love this song and the sax solo at the end is cool. Nice one Pierre!
@@marshac1479 Me too-- thanks for watching!
I love this channel thank you...i dont have a piano but i can play bits and pieces on it...great way of learning with the screen above you playing ...
And you pick great songs .
Thank you
This channel loves YOU.
It’s always been one of my favorites! Thank you!❤
Jazz saxophonist Phil Woods did the sax solo in one take!❤
Thanks so much for this, Pierre. Enjoying your tutorials very much. In the verse (block chords) D - Bm6 - Gmaj7 - do you play a D to D7 next? when in the stave above you've shown Bm7 to D7.
Either would be fine because Bm7 is just D with a B in the root! Bm7 and D share D, F# and A.
@@pierrejpiscitelli Thanks for the reply, Pierre. Great explanation - I understand now and it's sounding great. It's a real pleasure to watch and learn from your videos. Another two songs I've been trying to learn for ages are Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (Chris Martin/Coldplay), and Don't Go To Strangers (Paul Weller and Amy Winehouse). Just block chords would be fine. I know there's so many versions of these songs but I particularly love these. Cheers! And thanks again!
Hey man thanks for the tutorials they really help me and I wad wounding if you could do elton johns tiny dancer?
Glad they’re helpful! Absolutely, it’s on my to-do list.
Just subscribed. It would be helpful if you can sing along while you are playing. If you don’t sing at least humming along so the melody can be heard. Great tutorial. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fantastic tutorial! 😊 Love love it! And learn how to play it now. Thank you so much !❤😊
Also great, man !! It s the way you re making the listener comfortable !! congrats !!
I wanted to learn this song and searched for videos. Even though I'm a guitar player this was the best tutorial I could find. Great job!
Love to hear that!
on the bridge why there is Bflat, like itwas playing on the key of F but the signature play on D? why or how the logic of this thing. please am new at this, and it doest make sense. but it surely an epic choice. thanks
What idiot decided the audio jack should be right in front of the keys? The Rhodes is amazing, but I mean come on.😊
Someone who wanted to sell right-angled 1/4 inch plugs??
1:47 considering it’s over the note D, wouldn’t this make it a D9sus4 or something?
Will you please teach 'This will be' (an everlasting love) by Natalie Cole.
you are very good teacher , plus you like Toto and steve lukather and thats matter to me. tks. can you do bridge over trouble water?
this channel is good. the tutoring of each song is well-organized. easier to learn
Subscribed!❤
that rhodes sounds great, i have a yamaha keyboard but can't find a sound that crisp as yours......yours almost sounds like a wurlitzer
Thanks! There are so many incredible Rhodes samples out there, Keyscape, Purgatory Creek, and the Famous E Electric Piano just to name a few of my favorites.
Great job. Would like to see you do Prelude/Angry Young Man as it's epic with loads of sections.
Great tune!!
Beautiful transcription, really captures the the feeling of the original song. Love how you break down each section and also include the actual notes being played in a separate window. Any chance that you can offer transcribed sheets to this piece or others?
thanks! I don't offer sheet music as of niw-- my thinking is that someone who can already read, isn't going to need this tutorial, which teaches by rote. Maybe I'm wrong?
Hi thank you for the great tutorials
Would you do one for "i want you back" jackson 5?
My pleasure. Hell yeah, it's on my list of videos to make!
This channel deserves hundreds of thousands more subs!!! Pierre kills it on every video and I learn tons of new info.
Hats off to you sir for offering such great videos! 👏✌️
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Wonderful “ just the way you play” 😂 one question dear friend I have a basic keyboard Roland what kind of voice I can play .? electric piano or organ .? Excellent tutorial for this masterpiece thanks so much to share your great talent best regards from tequilas Land Mexico
Electric piano would be the best choice!
Thanks so much I tried the electric piano and sounds great 👍 I am your fan
Fantastic tutorial thanks! I'm definitely going to give this a shot after finally realising my lifelong ambition of seeing Billy Joel live! He played this song last night, which was just sensational - as was the Sax solo throughout.
You can do it! Where did you see him?
@@pierrejpiscitelli Thanks for the encouragement! Cardiff, Wales - first time he’s ever played there!
I won tickets to see him and met him backstage before the show in 1990, Storm Front Tour, Vancouver, BC Canada wicked show front row and very energetic r&b bluesy show.
Wow, this may be a bit out of my range as I am just getting started on keys. I’ve been playing guitar for a long time so I’m catching on quickly. This one is in the near future for me. Thanks Pierre. I enjoy your style of teaching.
Great tutorial! And watching this makes me miss my Rhodes so much... I had one back in the 80s that I sold off... Ugh.
This is now my favorite channel - you're very good on the keyboard, thank you!
...it really sucks that i can only like this one time 🤣where were you when i painstakingly tried to figure this all out on my own? ✌❤😎
Holy cow, that's a lot of chords! Thanks for making this so accessible!
Which Rhodes sound are you using for your keyboard? Sounds a little different than the real deal at the beginning. The OG always sounds good!
It's my favorite plugin-- "The Famous E Electric Piano" They sampled the Rhodes Mk I used on all of the great sessions in LA during the 70's. Something special about that particular instrument! I love my Mark I, but I think what you are hearing is lack of a preamp, bass boost all the way up, and just tons of imperfections due to unregulated action, bad tines, bad dampers etc. That's how you can REALLY tell it's a real Rhodes 🤣
@@pierrejpiscitelli Lol. It’s not bad, it’s just vintage. Like me!
@@EP-336 🤣
I’m Jealous of your Rhodes. Great tutorial!
One of the most beautiful recordings
Thanks!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
can you please teach how to play these eyes by the guess who
I'll add it to my list!
@@pierrejpiscitelli YOU’RE THE MAN!
