I realized something: WFC had one cinematic trailer and it was one of the best transformers game, FOC had two cinematic trailer and was even better than WFC, ROTDS had no cinematic trailer and was worse than the two other games. Conclusion: the level of quality of the game is linked to the amount of cinematic trailer it has. :)

It’s obvious. The more cinematics they have, the more effort and budget is put into the project. More effort = better crafted game, more cinematics = more budget = more experimenting. It’s directly linked.

Many things actually the game copied Fall of Cybertron game models action, the two mixed plots of g1 and movie make up the most confusing plot, the only multiplayer is a downgrade from Foc and the movie plot doesn't even make sense unless you've seen the movie but don't get me wrong it could have been done correctly but it wasn't

its perfect & its not trash its a good game to play because of its cybertron story because it tells the Dark spark's origin story.
@@samgrebe8290 I wouldn't say Rise of the Dark Spark is perfect. To me the game was okay. Not the really the best but it was playable and not the worst either. People were mainly negative because of the confusing story telling of the game and how frustrating and dull the designs were for the character. Yes, it does use the same game engine but I will admit that the designs do look a little off than what High moon Studios did since this game was developed by Edge of Reality and not High Moon themselves. How confusing is the story telling, if you now so wonder? Well this game takes place before Fall of Cybertron because Megatron appears in his FOC body upgrade rather than the one he had in WFC. And how the Movie parts now tie in to Age of Extinction is also confusing and there are lots of continuity errors to go along with it.
On a funny note, the 3DS game got better reviews than this did.
So to sum it all up: Rise of the Dark Spark pales in comparison to WFC and FOC. Voice acting is great and the combat is the same as the previous two games...but it is mostly the design of the characters, the confusing story telling and of course the lack of other multiplayer game, besides Escalation, that cripples this game. in my opinion, I gave the game a 4.5/10.
The game is only good because it literally stole 99% of the code from Revenge of the fallen dark of the moon wfc snd foc
Bring High Moon back, srly, nobody cares about this movie Cash-in, we want a proper FoC sequel.

I agree it is a good game but it still is a little under FOC and WFC in my books.

Though if you want more story FoC is actually a prequel to the CG animated series Transformers Prime which was surprisingly good and was actually finished up including all the stories which is rare since most good series get canceled before they're finished. Transformers Prime has 3 seasons and 1 movie which would've been a season 4 but the people behind it convinced their backers that they wanted to do a movie instead and overall ended the series very strongly.
Admittedly the show has some main characters that are kids but thats typical for most Transoformers shows and the kid characters eventually grow on you and aren't boring cardboard cutout cliche characters like in most series.

Megatron's history has always been him as a gladiator before becoming leader of the decepticons but its not something that is always shown/discussed in various media.

The game has a setting similar to Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. It's the live-action film universe and the WFC/FOC universe. The WFC/FOC part of the game takes place in between WFC and FOC. The live-action film universe is just a companion to Age Of Extinction. I don't really know where this takes place in the movie timeline only that it takes place after Dark Of The Moon.
I'm not a transformers fan but Until It's Gone should have been in the movie not in the game LP should have made the soundtrack not Imagine Dragons

You misunderstand. When I say cheaper, I mean the others had full CG trailers, while this went cheap and just used capture software on the game itself. This is cheap. YEs, they have a song... and one that's not as good as the other games'.

Should've let High Moon finish this game Activision, just because they had a contract on Deadpool was no reason to pull them off...Would have been great to see how they handle the Transformers on Earth and your sales might have been saved. Only blame yourselves. >_

I reckon they reason they had it on cybertron was because of war for cybertron and fall of cybertron, the best transformers games. They didn't realise that just having it on cybertron wouldn't make it a good game

I'm sceptical about this one, I loved WfC and FoC because it was original to have games about Cybertronian history in nothing related to those movies, but now they just openly merge those univers, which is quite sad to be honest : /

For what i understand its two different campaigns just sharing the "dark spark" subplot. But still, its not High Moon and neither a real FoC sequel, so meh.

Honestly, this game was a waste of potential. Don't take this as haters' comment, take this as a suggestion. Ever heard of TFU? Transformers Universe? The game that got shut down even before if came out of open Beta? Bring that back! It had some serious potential and also covered the part of the story that no movie, no animated series or video game covers.What happened between the period when Autobots and Decepticons left Cybertron and They fought on Earth. How come so many autobots don't make it to TFP. Hasbro confirmed that TfoC and TFP are in alignment, prove it. Just spill the beans already and let us know what happened to the ark? What happened to so many characters? Why did the autobots split up in the first place? A lot happened in that period than we know about, make a game covering that story and let that be the transition point from Cybertron to Earth.

the cybertron story with peter Cullen with the war & fall of cybertron voice actors gets the game more interesting & tells its true History about the Dark spark's origins. its G1 cameo wraps up the game as a nostalgia addition.

WHAT THE HELL!? I loved War and Fall of Cybertron, because it covered the early aspects of the Cybertronian Civil War that was rarely, if ever, touched on. But I also loved it because it stood on its own, but now... Not only did they tie it into Michael Bay's movies, but they made it the new movie's tie in game! I get it's a decent way to finish the cybertron games but only leaves severely mixed reactions.

My favorite Transformers games on PS3 are Transformers rise of the Dark Spark and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen
I was dissapointed as well but when I heard LP is bringing their own movie out (mall) and also a soundtrack , I gave a fuck about T4.

This game had so much potential. I sincerely wish that the developers hadn't decided to fuse (wedge) the fantastic WFC/FoC story arc and character designs into anything related to the Bayformers.
Now before you break out the pitchforks, I know and understand that the Bayformers were the introduction to the franchise for a lot of people. Just a personal preference though, as soon as I saw the movie designs, I knew immediately that I was going to skip it.
I'll gladly wait for a new Transformers game where the movie tie-ins are non-existent.
Also, the lack of Linkin Park would be nice as well.

People don't worry. I just finished the game and its more Cybertron gameplay then earth and it plays just like Fall of Cybertron
Honestly the game is good, my only problem is the bayformer tie in, escalation is great, plot is decent(without the bayformers it would be a lot better) and beside a few problems here and there it's an alright game
But I would've preferred if High Moon Studios made it, they did great with War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron
The Cybertron plot isn't decent: Megatron already has his new rebuilt look from FOC, but it's a prequel to FOC, so it's not possible.

+Lrobson 09 well, it's decent for the storytelling and the plot as a whole. Knowing how they found the Insecticons, seeing Crystal City, and the idea of the Terrorcons, all in all it's a good plot. However it also has big mistakes in the timeline, which makes it hard for me to enjoy. But it's still a good sequel (at least for the plot) to WFC. If we take out the Bayformers part of course.
And adjust the gameplay and level design to actually be GOOD.

So many people think that the idea of the Dark Spark is original. It was around in the G1 cartoon and was given by Unicron to make Galvatron. It was brought back in Beast wars to yet again give megatron ultimate power.

It was same as wfc and foc and i am a hardcore fan of transformers and I love every game of transformers! I think they should create a game showing unicorn and primus battling each other and creating 13 primes and u know what I mean. Show something ancient so we could learn more about them.

they have made the games so that the start of the 2007 transformers movie by Michael Bay is the end of transformers fall of cybertron, but there is one problem, in the 2007 movie megatron is a cybertronian jet, but in fall of cybertron he is a cybertronian tank.
I don't think the story in this game links the movie and the games into the same universe. Plus even if they were in the same universe megatron could just change his cybertronian form by scanning a new blue-print form or being rebuilt.
High Moon Studios are our only hope of making a good Transformers game.They're the only one who can show us the fate of the Autobots and the Decepticons after they entered the portal.I will never consider this a sequel and just pretend that their fate is still unknown.
