I haven't bought the game yet, not planning to buy neither now that it is dying in it's final stage. Not going to play even if it becomes available on gamepass. For me, 2042 was the final nail in the coffin for this franchise.

BF2042 was the last time I let EA fool me.
legit though..... 2042 was an epic fail on release... I can honestly say I will not be pre ordering.. or even buying day 1 until I see some reviews.
It was the first Battlefront remake for me. They haven't fooled me since. I've seen it coming every time now. I've learned to always wait until the game goes on sale and I know they've fixed it before I buy. I apply this rule to all games now, if it doesn't get fixed and go on sale I don't buy it.

"Ambitious" is just another way to say "we're changing everything you like about this franchise, but putting minimal effort into it because we know you'll buy it anyways."
BF2, BF2142 and BF3 were ambitious.

@@russellnava1969 I’ve been playing on PS4, still quite a few decent servers going, although not really a variety of game modes, typically conquest. Wish there were more operations servers with varied maps, as I find the expansion maps are rarely featured

I have been playing bf v since it has more players, but it's definitely worse than bf 1. Just the fact that they put women soldiers in ww2 is obnoxious. I guess I'll try bf1 again, even though I like ww2 more. I was just worried the player count wasn't high enough in bf1.

I don’t want ambition, I want consistency. Make BF3 remastered and watch as the entire community comes right back to the game.
They can’t sell wacky battle pass cosmetics with a remaster and nobody will buy the new slop they dump out a few years later so long as the servers are still online. They have no incentive to remaster anything.

Battlefield 3 for me was the perfect game in the franchise. Great campaign with a very solid map rotation for online play. Not to mention you did not have people ziplining and flying like bats everywhere.

Bf3 is good but grenades are op and endless grenade spam ruins half the maps. And vehicles are op. Bf4 fixed this and is overall more balanced.
@@grbtraining552Vehicle balancing in BF4 was horrendous. Weapons were homogenous and boring. A lot of maps traded large-scale destruction for large cityscapes with indestructible skyscrapers and set-piece destructible pieces. If your only real gripe about BF3 is grenade spam then I’m not so sure there are any real critiques. Plus in order to do that you had to be standing perfectly still, on a resupply box which really only works on a map like Operation Metro on a game mode like Rush. I’ve never experienced an issue like that playing Conquest in my 3,800 hours of BF3.

This quote keeps getting misinterpreted, the love letter to fans comment was addressing Portal mode which makes more sense.

It's unbelievable that they don't get it: 4 classes, modern but no gimmick futuristic weapons, aim for BF3/4 - if they need money: give us realistic skins for weapons and camo. I quite like bf2042 firearms, most of them are new prototypes and showcases in recents firearm conventions, not referring the sci fi ones tho

We want a new modern and mastered bf3 feeling game. We want our classes back and NO MORE OPERATORS! The operators are so dumb, I just want my assault, medic, support, and engineer classes with regular soldiers but with customizable uniforms.
Playing Noshar Canals TDM on PC in BF 2042 feels WAY different that it did on BF3 on Xbox in highschool and it didn't click until I saw footage in this video just what it was.
I'm not 100% but I think it was the lower FOV making everything easier in close quarters (not to mention controller input vs MnK)
I'm pretty sure that if there is a was to bring back Metro Rush/Control feeling gameplay from BF3 to a current gen title I'd be in paradise

I want to go back to being a generic soldier with no stupid hero ability, and I want maps that are not just "large open map with some warehouses".
But you can't sell weird skins, if everyone is a generic soldier. And as we all know, that's the primary reason they make games now...
I don't trust them anymore. I FULLY BELIEVE they knew what they had to do and they messed it up over and over again because they had to put their Horrifical spin on it (No server browser, Missing classes, No leaderboard, Horrible out of the box controls, Broken maps, Broken everything really). All that most of the community really wanted was the best of Bf3 & BF4 merged together into one game and fully updated into next gen graphics and Gritty war atmosphere, with a server browser (and rentable community servers) and new maps, PLUS we need to go back to having a BF game with MOD SUPPORT built into the game. Instead they couldn't do something as simple as that! Literally they could not accomplish something that easy to do??? This isn't rocket science in the formula that we all want and expect from the BF franchise.

What's crazy is they could make a killing in server rentals if they went back to that model. They would make more in doing that than doing any kind of live service that wasn't in previous BF titles. BF fans don't play BF for live service. We don't care if you look like a t-rex while running around with a weapon skin that has lightning on it. The only things we care about are solid gameplay, a focus on teamwork, fun maps, and replayability. We want it to be fun.

They always say that. Every studio, every brand says their new device or a game is the most ambitious or their best one yet.

Yes but you have to remember that these people who are currently working on the new battlefield game, is not the same as bf2-bf4.
A good example of this is the current halo developer 343 compared to Bungie which actually created halo. They cant recaputure that soul and what made the games so special

Specialists/operators from cod (or whatever they are called), random bullet spread instead of recoil patterns, visual recoil and blur so you have a seizure everytime you shoot, etc etc

A “doozy” is a short for Duesenberg which was sort of like America’s Rolls Royce in the 1920’s. Describing something as a doozy means that it will be extraordinary, large, and unprecedented.
They’re aiming to finish the game BEFORE release…wow that is ambitious!

They just need to go back and focus on how bf3 played and looked and just stick to that on a newer engine, no fancy anime or wacky cosmetic, we’ve seen enough of the hero shooters now, give us a gritty battlefield experience with big cinematic destruction for some creative battlefield moments
And most importantly give us realistic sounds, I used to love having the war tapes sound setting mixed with the battle chatter like in bf3 you hear from soldiers made an unreal gaming experience.
They screwed up with 2042 because they got away from the Battlefield theme and let their game design try to lean towards Warzone because it was popping at the time.

@@Dave7heRave It's also DICE's opinion. During the BF3 days, they ran tests and found that game matches were more balanced and coherent with 32 to 48 plyers with a limited few of objectives. It's exponentially more complicated and difficult to design a good map with large player counts; it's simply a matter of math.

I kinda zoomed out when the BF4 clips came through 🔥 I hope the next game will have many of the same traits that game has, it did many things right in the end.
Boomer here. The term "Doozy" is from a couple of generations before me. In the 1920s and 30s an American car company called Duesenberg built the highest quality American car. Only super-rich people could afford them. It became popular to use the adjective "Doozy" when referring to something extra good or of high quality.

Hearing all those studios that are involved with the project makes me more worried then anything else, games are at it's best when a single studio gets the time and budget it needs to deliver on a vision they as devs believe in. When I think about 4 studios working on one title, I think of massive development overlap, time wasting between back and forwards between all studios and the fact that everything needs go through several different okays before something can get worked on or implemented. tl;dr too many cooks in the kitchen. I hope to be wrong, but man. I doubt it.
I agree. Look at Diablo 4 and its 9000 dev team.

I wish they’d just deliver a solid battlefield game and use that as a platform for the franchise to make a comeback rather than promising “the most ambitious project in history” but I guess that’s just the curse of triple A gaming, everything has to be “bigger and better” than everything that came before

@@JewportMenthols BF1 has shallow vehicle gameplay, low skill cap compared to flying/tanking in BF4. And the gunplay still isn't great, although it improved a little in the last updates. New players have low standards. Also server tools (non-existent) and community tools were pathetic. But yes it had nice graphics, and the wokeness hadn't kicked into full gear yet. They were just warming up for BFV with the historically inaccurate female and black soldiers everywhere (which yes existed, but not 1/4 of all soldiers, like in BF1)
The fact JackFrags is *too excited* about this new release makes you worried about it, instead.
If Jack gets gassed with this, and THIS also ends up as a flop, real questions need to be asked.
It'll be clear he is compromised like the rest of those EA Influencer wankers or whatever they're called.
