While it can’t be denied that BF1 lacked core elements that the player base loved in BF3/4, the sound design, atmosphere and WW1 setting was portrayed to perfection, making it one of the greatest battlefield games of all time in my opinion.
I liked BF1 but not more than BF4
I agree the game felt short from start and had very long dlc span which made it even worse but the gameplay is held up really good till this day and thats what matters to me however just for sake of immersion i wish they added announcer for every country instead of that boring monotome woman and man that really ruins it imo

Meh, the scope glare is what tipped them all off. I've done this quad killing stuff in that alleyway countless times and even managed a hexa kill wiping a whole squad plus one (because morons always seem to walk single file to better hide their numbers, ask a tusken raider or two and they will confirm it) with the infantry variant of the martini-henry... which is why his clip is actually so miraculous, come to think of it... 🤔 I would likely have a harder go if I had a scope glinting like he did. 😕
I got a triple kill with the iron sights martin, made a clip, but my brother delated it. All because of jealousy.

It's really simple, they broke from immersion and tried to make the game ahistorical and untrue to life in general. Bf1 advertised a (mostly/fairly) historically accurate WWI game and they delivered on that beautifully. I saw the trailers for BFV and was like, "Yeah... a chick with metallic hook-like robo-ish limb fighting in WWII? Nah, I'll pass bro I like mostly canonical, historical references better than whatever scifi-quasi nonsense this is." Turns out I didn't regret holding on to my cash. 😏

BF1 is proof that you can change the core of battlefield and still make something incredible. BF1 is such a gem and I’d still jump in and play at any point.
My girlfriend is tired of hearing about my wartime battlefield memories stories. Just Waiting for my kids to grow Up getting Them on my chair and say. Listen children, During the war.....

I just now got back on BF1 after not having Xbox live for 2 months. Still a lot of fun and very immersive. Always an awesome WW1 history lesson too

Nothing quite like this game huh? I remember the best time i had with an artillery unit int his game was when I shot down three planes in rapid succession on St. Quentin Scar. Good times... good times.

I’m still loving BF1 after all these years. One of the best battlefields ever released
1:21 reminds me of a story my great grandpa told my dad when he was younger. He said in the jungles of the pacific in WW2 what they would do is wait in the woods until an enemy Japanese patrol would walk single file in the jungle right up alongside them. They would wait until they could spot the officer and then take him out. Once that happened the rest of the soldiers would run around like chickens with their heads cut off and they would just cut them down one by one.

That first clip happened to me once, Was in a tank firing at the airship and thought i missed....then somehow got a kill from across the map.

i still remember that semi-famous clip of a dude that took down a pilot and then jumped out of his attack plane to get the plane he killed the pilot out of. It was insane. just now getting back into battlefield and i love it again. already getting back into the swing of things on 5 (was on track for a 100 kill game before my wifi turned off on the last day when i was well over half way) looking forward to the next game and playing it with the boys.
That quad with the Martini took some serious self control...I would've just started mashing Right Trigger as soon as I rounded the corner.

Makes me wish I had sent you some of my own clips. The largest number of kills I have ever gotten with a single grenade was about 18 or so on Rupture. The enemy was on the bridge at objective Charlie and they had parked their behemoth char 2C dead center. I chucked my light anti tank grenade and kaboom! A good six or so kills immediately but then as I turn to take cover the kill feed continues... the grenade I threw was the straw that broke the camel's back. The bridge collapsed and the Char 2C behemoth fell into the river along with the rest of the enemy team then exploded killing all inside and nearby that had miraculously survived the grenade and subsequent fall. I finished the game a few minutes later with my best score to date... 74 kills and 3 deaths. Gosh, I love this game!

Just got this game for my ps5, I plan to get it for my pc as well, I’ve heard a lot of great things about it, I mainly got it because it’s WW1 and I’m a history nerd, I understand that it’s not 100% historically accurate but I’m still really excited to play it!

The most satisfying moments in bf1 were when an enemy picks up those kits and you bayonet charge them instantly before they could do anything

Really cool, when the best shots I did in a tank and I was stupid as I forgot to record it. As I screamed with happiness, someone planted dynamite on the bad side I shot a cannon off randomly and it killed like 6 of them where they was standing it was crazy across the map!
The Remington 35. Has gotta be my favorite gun in battlefield
after watching the Gewehr M. 95 Carbine clip on Ballroom Blitz, you can see explosive destroyed in the first part of the kill stack. Not sure what they would have shot, maybe some dynamite or an anti tank mine. I did see two explosive destroyed for 50 points to start the point stack

One time I randomly fired a bullet from a sniper rifle with no scope and 10 seconds later I got a headshot from the other side of the map
6:57 they should replace this with the actual in game sound of people falling from a destroyed bomber

I had a clip that I lost where I randomly fired a shot into fog then like a minute later that shot blew up a tank
Then there's the unsung psychos out there like me that actually enjoy using infantry variants of sniper rifles to pick off snipers on the other side of the map... like a headshot from Fao fortress to the farthest reaches of the mountains of the british spawn point. The stupid scope glare gives so many people away and I love it. Sometimes I seriously wonder how I got so good at eyeballing the bullet drop at that distance... I don't even use the ranging on sniper rifles because I find it unfamiliar and bothersome. Gosh, I love this game! 😁
