Yeah, apparently their dice is weighted to roll snake eyes Not sure why they would do that, but definitely not outside the realm of something they would do
Fun fact: Dice HAD a focus group when still deciding on replacing the class system with specialists. The group had almost an entirely negative review of the specialists and they added them anyway lol.
BFV should get its Russian DLC. I would take that over BF2042 every day and twice on Sunday. At least that game feels like battlefield. Maybe they need a focus group on how to do what the community fucking wants?

And there will always be new fresh doe-eyed customers with lower standards and the inexperienced palate of youth ready to replace the few who actually leave.
Battlefield 2042 feels almost more like a bundle of random assets on unrelated play spaces than it does a proper game. There’s no atmosphere, the animations feel so stiff and janky, the gameplay mechanics… feel so untested and the game feels like it barely knows what it even wants to be

They've lost touch with their player audience. I guarantee those decisions were made by some people that are currently ruining the gaming industry thinking that removing score boards and voip would combat "toxicity". These big publishers let these people into their companies that seek to water their games down to the point where they're just a shell of their former selves and EA needs this. Dice needs this, they need a wake up call because they're clearly asleep.
It is hilarious how BF managed to kill itself even though COD played it all into their hand for years by re-releasing the same game. I cannot imagine how you could f up a plate of food served into your face.
I still remember all the fanboys in youtube comment sections back in the day fighting over BF3 and MW3 before they both came out, and how one franchise would kill the other. Imagine telling them how things would end, in suicide.
@Tyler Barse if I recall correctly even BF 4 has more people now. In this era of remaster/remakes EA had just one job : reskin BF3 or BF4. Or dare I to dream take good things from both and some mechanics from bf5 and 1. Boom !! Succes. Well I am sad now, dreaming hurts.
Kinda sad when you say a flash in the pan, dying game like Halo Infinite caused all his. Like actually sad that a room full of people thought this was the best angle to play.
That's doubly sad considering Halo Infinite released in just as bad of a state as BF2042 and is seeing players leave in droves. What the hell is happening? How are two of the biggest names in the FPS genre competing for 5K players on Steam?
Only way to EA is going change is when we stop buying and pre ordering their games. Imagine if most people waited a week or so from release instead of buying this at launch.
I found a reddit post from 2008 where people were complaining about EAs "fuck you" atitude against their fans. If the gaming community hasn't learned their lesson in 14 years then its a lost cause.

The fact that EA recently blamed the poor launch of 2042 on the “surprise launch” of halo infinites multiplier just further proves act man’s point that they will do anything but take responsibility
why take responsibility and tell your shareholders that you failed to create a product, when you can tell them that it wasnt your fault? these statements are made to tell shareholders that everything is fine and that these problems are just irregular things out of their control
People will still pre order the next battlefield which is the reason why nothing has changed 60-80 dollars for a broken battlefield with only 1 mode and people still pre ordered and bought it which just shows to ea that the consumers will buy any dogshit they shit out
Can't wait for the next Battlefield. 5 months into its life cycle, we'll get: "Legacy features such as 'shooting', 'going prone', 'driving', 'taking cover', and many more are being considered and discussed by our team".
"It's time to abandon legacy features such as 'walking', 'communicating', and 'playing the game". Instead, our newest addition to the Battlefield franchise will mostly comprise of the player choosing one of our many well realized, well written specialists; floating around our incredibly detailed, vast, empty maps; and hugging the enemy team."
I swear, this is the video game equivalent of what laptops and smartphones are doing. "That's a legacy feature, remove it". "Remove it". "Remove it". Prices increase, and features are minimal. And the features that ARE there end up being worst than how it was back in the day!
I bet my ass that the only DICE veterans left in the studio are people behind the engine itself, engineers with the biggest paychecks. People actually designing games are paid less and probably left the studio long time ago
@@verygoodbrother lmfao have you really deluded yourself into thinking that’s why GTA VI isn’t out yet? Actually I heard that most of the people behind the engine left leaving people that don't know how to do much, hence the state 2042 was when it released.
The reason they removed things like scoreboards is because they want to “remove the toxic element of their playerbases”, because they listen to the idiots on twitter, rather than the people giving them money.

I love how their solution to "remove toxicity" is to ban everybody from talking so no one's feelings get hurt lol. Like they think they are solely responsible for how people act. Back in my day it was called a mute button.
in today's social climate, their decision to straight up remove the option of voice chat with the intention of removing toxicity, doesn't surprise me at all. The worst kind of solution to any such problems.
Honestly I feel like with the direction they went with the operator based classes vs the role based classes that alone ruined the game for what it is regardless of bugs and glitches
The specialists are what mainly influenced me not to buy the game to begin with. Adding operators and removing most class limitations would completely disintegrate the sorts of teamwork that Battlefield was iconic for. Not to mention how the game made you feel like a faceless, expendable soldier on the Battlefield in past games.
If you're looking for a game that has that mechanic and isn't an older Battlefield game then I recommend Planetside 2. It's free to play and just had a new update adding a new map to their other continent sized maps. FYI though it does have over shields like Halo
One of the things that pissed me off was the fact they couldn’t even make a fucking map with water and boats I can drive on. WHY ARE THEY GOING TO SAY THAT THE AIRBOAT IS AMPHIBIOUS WHEN I CANT EVEN DRIVE IT ON ANY WATER
When pondering how a gaming studio can decline so hard, it's important to remember: a company's logo and name may not change but the people and leadership within do.
I do know that quite a few people in DICE moved to other places after BF3/4. Doesn’t surprise me if whatever’s left barely pulled the new people together to make BF1, then when those little few left we got V and this.
DICE: "Get rid of in game voice chat, we don't want people to say mean things." DICE: "Get rid of the scoreboard, we don't want people to feel bad when they lose." DICE: "Get rid of server browsing, we don't want people sticking to certain servers." Customer: "But.. what about what WE want?" DICE: >:(
The world is getting so soft where they have to take things out of games so that people don’t feel bad or that people don’t say mean things. What a joke this world is becoming due to these soft younger generations
@@311mikey The world (or younger generation) isn't the problem. The best selling game of recent times is Elden Ring. A game that doesn't hold your hand. It's not shy about kicking your ass and we all love it for it. People like a sense of accomplishment and you can't have that accomplishment without hardship. The problem is with the current cooperative environment (especially in the entertainment industry). They are in a bubble, an echo chamber filled with the worst of the worst. People who are so uninteresting and unaccomplished that they fear accomplishment. I have no idea how they came to control the most profitable entertainment franchises but here we are.
I can kinda understand why they left out scoreboard and voice chat. Even though it was idiotic, there was a reason for it. There was literally no reason to leave server browser out intentionally.
Players: "This game is extreamly broken, and it's a total downgrade!" EA: "wait, one question, did you already pay for the game?" Players "Well, yeah" EA: "then it's not my problem"
The worst part of all this is that now when I tell people my favorite battle field was "twenty-ONE-forty-two" they're going to think im referring to this......
It’s a disturbingly common thing in recent years for big companies to respond to fan criticism this way. If the fans dislike something they are either racist/sexist and if those claims fall flat then the companies just start saying the fanbase is toxic.
Because the current companies are taken over by oversensitive manchildren who are literally incapable of dealing with any kind of criticism. Sure, there's idiots who take it too far with the death threats and such, but devs nowadays behave just a childish.
The funny thing is that I would actually get behind devs slamming entitled assholes in the playerbase (instead of listening to them which has ruined so. many. games.) but, uuuuh... to be in a position to do that, your game shouldn't look like an alpha version, because that kind of invalidates your position completely.
I'm surprised when the 2042 beta video came out people STILL criticized you for it. You were right all along. The apologists have revealed themselves and we have you to thank.
Doesn't help either that the words alpha and beta have lost all meaning, it astounds me when i saw a beta such as this and people think that some how all those problems and more are going to be fixed in 2 months. I'm thinking this is NOT a beta this is an insult to every potential customer, mean while like you said a lot customers defend it.
Honestly I've come to hate the concept of "seasons" in games. It's basically turned into an excuse to delay features that should have been in the game from the start.
thats assuming each season is actually an upgrade often they'll add more bugs than features or remove something players love or just completely wreck the balancing of the game cause ehhh why not
My favourite gaming quote of all: "EA rolls a six-sided die whenever a new DICE game comes out. The higher the number, the less they care about the game."
Gaming had a good run.. I can't believe I'm actually considering putting it down and doing something else entirely because of how greedy and shady these companies have become. Rest in peace to what was once my favourite hobby
Go play indie games like Hollow Knight or Sifu! The indie market has been really improving as of late! Or just DO YOUR RESEARCH on triple a games before you buy them!
I started playing older games and jrpg's somewhere around May/June in 2021 and it was a damn good decision that I have made. (Persona 4 Golden and Trails of Cold Steel were the very first jrpg's i bought) I got so bored of AAA games, i almost quit gaming. Honestly, it is difficult for me to go back now.
Lol I just find it hysterical that their "legacy features" have literally been apart of games for over a decade, and even .io games like Krunker can implement these. They aren't "legacy features" they're basic asf features that make up the core of the game. You're right, these clowns are out of touch with reality, and their dwindling fan base.
I hate to break it to you buddy, but these "betas" are little more than server stress tests. The release client is already well on its way or already made, and you just bought into another of their tricks to secure easy preorders.
I'm going with "Investors who don't know squat about gaming are the ones making the most important decisions." It's what killed Atari, it's what will kill the big companies.
EA had its best year ever in 2021 despite Battlefield's failure. Remember, their revenue comes almost entirely from sports games and microtransactions now. Battlefield doesn't even account for 5% of their revenue anymore. Activision Blizzard also had its best year ever in 2021 in spite of the big scandal. The gaming public has gotten significantly dumber since the 80s. They happily throw their money at companies that hate them and then act surprised when they get served garbage. EA will be fine.
@@yurichtube1162 They'll dissolve DICE long before they ever considering selling them off. It'd be stupid of them to sell off DICE and let them go make money for a competitor.
The idea that scoreboards "make players toxic" is so stupid. How can players (myself included because I'm pretty average) get better at the game if we don't have the proper tools to measure our performance with? I'm a musician and one of the tools I use to measure my progress is a metronome. Taking away a scoreboard is like taking away my metronome and saying, "Metronomes will only frustrate you when you miss the beats." Yeah, it's true, but they also help me get better.
What makes players toxic ... is bad parenting. Period. If parents invest some time into teaching basic manners to their brats and put effort into making them nice and caring persons...no toxicity
@@voxdraconia4035In all fairness, we can't rely on everyone being good parents when it comes to toxicity. Toxicity has to be accepted as something that you'll occasionally come across in society. There are two ways to then deal with it. You either discourage it socially and make people more tolerant of it through exposure, or you outright ban it as much as you can and effectively keep people within a safety bubble at all times. Video games in particular in recent years, in their attempts to deal with "toxicity," have become shells of their former selves. By getting rid of things as basic as voice chat (or making it opt-in, guaranteeing most won't use it), you don't get a sense of community or socialization. It used to be possible to make new friends to play games with through multiplayer games - nowadays everyone just goes on a private Discord or voice chat server of their choice with a couple of friends and there's no interactions to be had. It has gotten really bad. We need parenting to both deal with raising kids to not be toxic, and also to not be so easily offended by the words of random strangers - kids need to be taught and raised to be emotionally mature. Yet even if we had such a parenting shift, what people complain about as "toxicity" in the modern day is so laughable that I don't think we could ever really eliminate it.
I would genuinely love for a higher-up in the company to explain to me how they thought that pushing out this garbage was a better financial option for the company than delaying it and making a good game
Get all the money for it now, finish the game later, rake in the good will from people who are super impressed that we finished the game instead of just abandoning it. GG.
Most publicly traded companies these days don’t make money from selling a product, they make money from investors. (Obviously selling a product is important and necessary, but it’s more for revenue than profit.) You get more money by showing growth and progress, so releasing a new game on schedule is designed to appeal to those investors and keep money coming in to the company. This is also why so many games that release in bad shape can seemingly stick around for years and end up being fixed (or at least improved). There’s a balance though, and creating a DOA title that misses target sales and bleeds almost its entire player base in the first months is on the wrong side of that. You see this a lot with VC funded startups, it’s not unique to gaming. It’s just an unfortunate feature of the way investment and profit works these days.
It's all in the name of short term gains. Push a product out, even if it ain't finished, within Q4 to rake in the Holiday sales. It doesn't matter what happens to the game months after because all the execs at the top have already patted themselves on the back and received their bonuses. It's all just a giant circle-jerk for them.
Really love how they can’t admit their own failures. Just read a few news articles saying they blame COVID as well as halo infinite for their lackluster sales/player count. It’s honestly mind boggling how they can keep this up.
“That’s why deaths have been taken off the scoreboard.” Meanwhile in Halo Infinite: “HEY THERE BUDDY, I SEE YOU ONLY LANDED 15% OF YOUR SHOTS AND YOU DIED 20 TIMES!” I just find it funny how Halo Infinite, despite all its flaws, is savage about showing your performance. 😂
Honestly, DICE isn't even DICE anymore. An overwhelming majority of the Devs who worked there on the past games have since left and made their own studio. The talent that made Battlefield what it was is long gone.
There's a documentary series made by the Swedish state media called "Det Svenska Spelundret" or roughly "The Swedish Video Game Wonder" where they go through the history of video games in Sweden. I watched it while sick a few weeks ago and in it they cover the Battlefield series and the origins of DICE. Seeing that small collection of original misfits go from making pinball games to brute-forcing together a functioning 3d engine was honestly pretty inspirational. Quite a contrast to the DICE which sees scoreboards as "brutal expectations".
Sadly, it's happening that way to a ton of different game companies...They get bought out by a corporation that milks their major franchises into the ground and moves on to the next.
Yup. 100% this. It's almost like every game dev companies who have vets working have already left and all the shitty new devs are working on these games now and they're being released half ass & broken
I work for a pest control company, and from my experience, you’re absolutely right in that a company shouldn’t act in spite of their paying customers. DICE saying that it’s unreasonable to add basic features and make the gameplay functional would be like me telling one of my customers “you expect us to spray your house and remove your spider webs? Outrageous!”
I work for a community water system and even I understand how important it is to please our customers and do what we can to keep the water supply safe and drinkable. If my boss and the board ever started to act like EA then not only would they lose their jobs and credibility, but the water might not even getting taken care of properly which could destroy lives and people's health. It's an important job, so how is it that EA and DICE are so completely conceited and arrogantly against making an actual GAME? Are they really so stupid where they don't realize that people may like them again and even praise the company again if they just DO THEIR DANG JOB THE RIGHT WAY?
Its easy to see why it happened tho, Dice is now populated by people who dont play it or are fans of the franchise, and actively hate people who are fans, with such a shit product they still lecture fans on what is "good"
"The things you want take time to design, scope, and execute". SO STOP RELEASING GAMES EARLY. THIS IS NOT DIFFICULT. The impatient can wait. Give us a complete game for the first time in 20 years, EA.
Its too late this is the end of bf , dunce no sorry slip of the tongue dice and ea. I honestly think ea will not be able to sell games based on lies and fancy trailers any more .I have a household ban on letting ea getting any money from me or anyone i know , they still owe me £63.99 .
It's not impatient gamers. You can't promise shareholders a delivery date and not deliver it. We are not their customers. We are a metric of how well the investment of their real customers is going. Look up ESG. We are not consumers. We are the products.
its the customers fault. as long as millions of people keep buying, even preordering, unfinished games, the publishers arent going to change their tactics. i vowed never to buy another game from EA, Ubisoft or Activision over 10 years ago and havent really missed them. If something original comes out that has passable gameplay, like Far Cry 3, which happens very rarely, i dont feel bad about pirating it. Basically the only big release I have bought in past couple years, after pirating it to try it out, is Borderlands 3, because Gearbox actually knows how to treat their customers respectfully and doesnt launch games in unplayable state.
I love your statement of “They don’t deserve your time, and they don’t deserve your money”. Companies are such big things and it’s hard to remember that you have a say in the matter.
DICE Fails with EA Star Wars Battlefront 1 EA Star Wars Battlefront 2 Battlefield V Battlefield 2042 EA: this is fine LITERALLY ANY OTHER COMPANY Fails 1 game EA: YOUR DONE! CLOSE THIS COMPANY DOWN! I do not understand how DICE cannot make a game that makes money and yet they keep getting rewarded again and again and again
The reason EA doesnt do this is because Battlefield as a series has a too large Community, Battlefield is one of the Biggest Shooter game series out there Along side with COD, Fortnite and whatnot. EA would be shooting themself in the leg if they said to DICE to close their company down, since they have a big following of players and the Notoriety.

My battlefield story (late to the franchise). Battlefield 1, wow! loved it. Airships, Trains, horses, great maps, great gameplay. Even paid for DLC. What a great intro into the series. Battlefield V....oh I was hoping for a Vietnam setting or at least a big change. It's like Battlefield 1 but worse in pretty much every way. Still ok, I'll pick it up for free. Battlefield 2042.....yeah I'm not even going to touch that.

RokushoTheRavager it’s not that serious dude, people were hopeful for a better game than bfv. Not a good purchase for them but they don’t have to be ridiculed what
We told people this back in 2016 and they said we were just complaining. Stop. Giving. Them. Money. Until they show change and improvements on their games. They ruined star wars battlefront and screwed every fan of the company over. Abandoned C&C at its peak and released a poor excuse for an rts game after. Their legacy began by buying NFL game rights and tweaking them with as little money spent as possible. Crooks
Why they should bother if they can easily sh*t on players every year and morons still keep buying/donating and etc? Apparently people love eating sh*t for some reason, they are not gonna stop :(
I do think their wallets are gonna hurt after this. They clearly planned for this to become a game that they milk for years with in game purchases like an overwatch/apex/Fortnite type game. But with most of the player base gone and little community support they definitely aren’t going to hit the revenues they expected, or at least the revenues they projected to shareholders. They’ll probably spend the next 3 years making the game what it was supposed to be and hope everyone forgets about the initial release. Still leaves them very far behind where they wanted their sales to be. [im just speculating here, for all I know they’re like “fuck it, whatever” and move on]

I love how you used the BF1 soundtrack for the majority of this video. The atmosphere, the environment, it was beautiful to me. How did we go from that to... this. It baffles me
It's sadly rather unsurprising that DICE is out of touch and incompetent. During and after BF5's development, DICE hemorrhaged veteran devs so a bunch of the leadership and staff are newbies with little experience in the Battlefield series. Combined with classic EA managerial meddling and Frostbite engine being a disaster of an engine to work with, you get a complete disaster. They straight up had to restart development because EA wanted them to make a battle royale first.
83% of their staff joined after BF1. People need to remember this, a company can be a totally different set of people between games. Same with Bioware, they are LITERALLY not the same people they used to be.
Well... apparently wasn't as bad in the past. Currently "Project Reality" modders managed to reverse engineer most of BF3 and done many changes and genuinely impressive stuff with it.
The thing that makes this so sad and ironic is how bf4 came out and was handled. BF4 is the ultimate example of a game that was rushed by the publisher, but the studio owned up, admitted their mistakes and approached the community with a “help us make this right” sort of mentality. And bf4 despite being arguably the worst launch of a video game (apart from cyberpunk) ever is no a beloved entry in the franchise and a common pick for the pinnacle of battlefield.
That's because the only problem with BF4 was bugs and crashes, other than that the game was amazing. Everything about BF2042 core game design is utter shit, no amount of tweaks can fix this trash.
The only real problem I had with BF4 was the rubber banding the core game was fun, nice graphics on new gen, fun gameplay, nice destruction and levolution and a good variety of maps you never got bored of the game. 2042 the core gameplay of the game is fucked up there is no fixing that
I was hoping someone in these replies said it. DICE L.A deserves to be the head studio, Stockholm has their heads up their asses. Stability patches, weapon balance, free maps, community test environment, etc was all DICE L.A.
There was an interview with a DICE developer years ago where they admitted they don't even know why bad company 2 was popular. They have no fucking idea why one of their all time greats is good FFS.
"BattleField is the trend that other games are supposed to copy, no the other way around" that one line summed up SOOO many issues with game development now adays due to investor pressure and such. Brillant video once again Act Man. Hit the nail on the head as usual.
Also, the reason there's hardly any guns in the game is because they want to lock them all behind the corporate greed machine seasonal battle pass paywall and trickle them to players at an agonizingly slow pace unless you shell out money.
Removing social features to make the game's community "healthier" makes perfect sense.... in the same way removing a roach infestation from a house by burning it to the ground with a flamethrower makes sense. Sure the roaches are gone but so is the living room, kitchen, bedroom, roof etc. My point being the game won't be "toxic" because there's no one left playing it.
"We need to take out every part of the game that allows competitiveness, that's TOXIC." "You realize you are making a multi-player shooting game right? Did you even spend any time play-testing?" "YOU'RE SO MEAN TO ME WHY WOULD YOU EXPECT SO MUCH!?!?!" This is what happens when the Tumblr generation graduated from college and got jobs in game dev studios guys. We should have seen it coming.
Just seems like the game was made for progressives. The cringe voicelines. Probably didn’t add a scoreboard because huh duh duh muh toxicity you shouldn’t feel bad for having a negative KD huuuuhh it’s like the wanted the game to be a “safe space”
No joke, I was on a coffee break watching this video and when the "LEGACY features YOU want us to bring back" statement came to the screen, I nearly choked to death. I don't know what I expected from the 'don't like it, don't buy it' -team, but holy hell if that isn't the most tone deaf response outside of RUclipsr apologies. Also, captain hindsight here - I'm now super grateful that Mirror's Edge didn't become a franchise. Now I have two unique stand-alone games to remember fondly instead of this current clown-circus-in-charge nuking it from orbit.
I stopped buying battlefield games when they said that… if you support this trash by preordering it then you are part of the problem. I stopped preordering games a decade ago after I was disappointed time and time again. Best decision I’ve made, let other fools waste their money and pick it up on sale if I really want to play it.
@@pkennedy0219 I think demonizing pre-ordering in entirety isn't good either. I still do pre-order games that I'm really interested in and I haven't been disappointed yet. Remember when game companies asked their fans what they should do next, then worked for years to make a compromise that made most people satisfied and released a game that was finished and furnished on the disk? Yeah.... good times
@Bolivian-Lament Well yeah, but gaming wasn't really a mainstream "thing" until the 2000's. I don't exactly blame the normies for not knowing the frankly nerdy history of where game mechanics come from when it pretty much was just "nerd shit" until relatively recently.
@Bolivian-Lament Lol, way I figure it, they're a little confused on the details but they got the right idea for the most part. Close enough to be on the right side of the fight, y'know?
Battlefield 1 was a masterpiece of a game, it's amazing how it took what, 5 years for DICE to completely implode? Guess we can add them to the ever expanding list of studios EA has killed.
Along with Pandemic Studios, Bullfrog, and a whole slew of others. Star Wars Battlefront, Dungeon Keeper, and who knows how many other franchises murdered by this disgusting excuse for a "company" 😡
the awful release of Battlefield 4 was a sign of that already then forgettable Hardline, the most awful entry and marketing of BFV which it took what? 2 years to become actually decent? and THIS?? that's just sad, And i thought BFV was the lowest the series was and 2042 would at least somewhat redeem DICE and make something that would last half a year of enjoyment?? is that too much to ask?
Everything was done for one exact reason. To bring in a “season pass” system and one day open a shop. Every MP game has become a cash grab and they wanted in. Instead of just creating a game for enjoyment. They want a cash cow.
and when it blew up in their face, they had no idea what to do. that’s why they’re radio silent and absolutely braindead. probably looked at a bunch of statistics and used that for a basis for the game instead of what people actually want
Because they know they can get millions of sales no matter how awful the game is, and they know that whales will spend hundreds on top of that. I had a friend who said that he spent thousands of dollars on Clash of Clans, that's the success they want.
If they wanted a cash cow, they should've just made Star Wars Battlefront 3. BF2 ended good and was looking promising and once their reputation was restored they ended the live service as fast as possible. I hope EA crashes and burns.
You know Dice is in complete chaos when even the developers themselves leave recent negative reviews on the company. The reviews all say the same that the management at dice is in complete chaos and have no idea what they are doing or what direction they want the developers to go in. The ultimate sin Dice/EA has committed: They didn't design a game for the audience they have but for an audience they wish to have. 2042 for the longest time of its development time was designed as a BR game. Only 18 months ahead of launch they performed effectively a development soft reboot and turned it into the game we have now. Not because all of a sudden they came to the conclusion BR doesn't really appeal to their audience, but because the people in charge at Dice simply been incapable to deliver the golden BR goose. To make matters worse, the new guy they put in charge of the next BF game and report to Zampella has a history in BR development and been brought in to ensure the next BF will provide the BR MTX fiesta the suits at EA dream about.
Didn't EA already make a BR game, Apex Legends? Which robbed us of the next Titanfall games. One BR game should of been enough. Cant wait for Madden Royale!
This just makes no sense, they already have Apex Legends, why the fuck do they want to compete against their own game instead of doubling down support on Apex, and letting DICE do what they've always done? EA is lead by brain damaged chimpanzees.

Absolutely couldn't agree more with the ActMan's final point about this game: It's not going to improve because unlike Battlefront 2 or BFV, these aren't simply glitches or small features that need improvement. These were active design choices to make the game NOT a BF game. It's the same difference between selling someone car and realizing it needs some tweaks under the hood or new tires etc, versus selling someone a broke ass bike, telling them it's a car, then telling the guy you sold it to "Ok, we're going to do out best to listen to your feedback and turn this bike into a car". It just ain't happening. Cut your losses, and make a new BF game.
Guarantee this game will go the route of BFV. Once the season drops and they see how little sales in transactions they get they'll drop all future content development for the next battlefield and just make stupid cosmetics for the remainder 3 seasons.
@@joshwongwai3532 I agree, but at least BFV was a battlefield game. It got in some controversy for being woke and had bugs, but it felt like a true BF game and can still be enjoyed at its base. If they go that route like you described (and I agree with) and DON'T make massive overhauls, it's RIP 2042. I have complain this and rant it with my friends, why do people preorder from EA or any other company that pretty much makes it a policy to sell incomplete or faulty products
True. If a snake salesman is known for selling you shit, at some point it has to be the responsibility of the buyer if they get conned or not. EA has time, and time, and time again proven that they are pretty a-okay selling broken ass games, lie about it, and then fix it down the road. Fallen Order and BF4 are the exception, not the rule. Since the time Dead Space 3 (my poor boy, look how they massacred him!!) was released, it has been just all EA hallmark moves. Why are people expecting something different? The fact that BF2042 still had 3k players last week is baffling to me.

It’s a disturbingly common thing in recent years for big companies to respond to fan criticism this way.
If the fans dislike something they are either racist/sexist and if those claims fall flat then the companies just start saying the fanbase is toxic.
They have too much money
Abit like Disney now calling star wars fans yet again racist because views are down lol
When EVERYONE hates your game then you just have to find the racists who are equally represented amongst them.
"This game does not deserve a review." Goddamn, that was actually pretty savage.
I'm surprised when the 2042 beta video came out people STILL criticized you for it. You were right all along. The apologists have revealed themselves and we have you to thank.
Hey man, I understand it. Denial can be a bitch sometimes haha
@@TheActMan Next comes anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance to complete the stages of grief.
Doesn't help either that the words alpha and beta have lost all meaning, it astounds me when i saw a beta such as this and people think that some how all those problems and more are going to be fixed in 2 months. I'm thinking this is NOT a beta this is an insult to every potential customer, mean while like you said a lot customers defend it.
it’s actually insane how smooth bf5 is compared to 2042. they literally took steps backwards. literally, wtf were they thinking
Dude they didn't take steps.
They took Hulk sized LEAPS backwards.
While in Moon Gravity.
And in World-Breaker Hulk State.
It makes me so angry that I can't climb a wall anymore. While in BF5, it was a feature to climb up things that are higher up than your player
Honestly I've come to hate the concept of "seasons" in games. It's basically turned into an excuse to delay features that should have been in the game from the start.
thats assuming each season is actually an upgrade
often they'll add more bugs than features
or remove something players love
or just completely wreck the balancing of the game cause ehhh why not
Cod Mobile does it pretty well, each season seems to last around a month so the changes are near constant and keeps the game fresh.
The idea of Seasons is alright but If you use seasons as a Excuse to not put content in the game.
My favourite gaming quote of all:
"EA rolls a six-sided die whenever a new DICE game comes out. The higher the number, the less they care about the game."
@Edwards94 I got a nat 20 on initiation, 2 more nat 20s due to crit, along with a 3x multiplier, withe the last roll being a 10
They rolled 2 dice and got a 12
I bet they're using a D100
Gaming had a good run.. I can't believe I'm actually considering putting it down and doing something else entirely because of how greedy and shady these companies have become.
Rest in peace to what was once my favourite hobby
Then just play non triple A games, bruh
stop playing AAA games and try a different genre
go play a Tales game, you´ll love it, trust me
Go play indie games like Hollow Knight or Sifu!
If im correct Goldeneye and Conker Live and Reloaded had these features.
Another thing: Stop having betas a WEEK before launches. Betas are meant to be held months before launch to find bugs and apply feedback.
Ikr it’s just an early release for ppl who preordered
Its pretty much a demo disguised asa beta
I hate to break it to you buddy, but these "betas" are little more than server stress tests. The release client is already well on its way or already made, and you just bought into another of their tricks to secure easy preorders.

Ikr, what happened to getting an Alpha and more than one Betas...

What is a metronome
@@spectroelectro3772they are an object that makes a beat you so you can time things better
@@aguafria9003 Ah thanks
Following business ethics rather than common sense that’s what happen
Those people probably never have even played a video game, let alone one of their own. It really shows in their decision making.
The sooner gamers realise ‘live service’ is just code for ‘demo game’ and stop paying full price for these shambles the better.

Same goes with Blizzard, they haven’t made a good game since WotLK.
Yup. 100% this. It's almost like every game dev companies who have vets working have already left and all the shitty new devs are working on these games now and they're being released half ass & broken
It's woke Dice. They got no talent or knowledge. At least they have diverse people but seems like they aren't really talented or useful.
Former pest control tech here: this response is right on the money.
Maybe you can help DICE with their Roach problem, seems there's a lot of those in their offices

"The things you want take time to design, scope, and execute". SO STOP RELEASING GAMES EARLY. THIS IS NOT DIFFICULT. The impatient can wait. Give us a complete game for the first time in 20 years, EA.

its the customers fault. as long as millions of people keep buying, even preordering, unfinished games, the publishers arent going to change their tactics. i vowed never to buy another game from EA, Ubisoft or Activision over 10 years ago and havent really missed them.

And bf4 despite being arguably the worst launch of a video game (apart from cyberpunk) ever is no a beloved entry in the franchise and a common pick for the pinnacle of battlefield.

Dice was destined to fail after they abandoned Battlefront 2. And you know what, I hope EA shuts them down.
@@mastervader3171 EA forced them to shut down battle front 2 to work on this game.
@@mastervader3171 dice was Destin to fail once bought by EA. Just like every studio EA buys. They suck em dry and then kill them off. Surprise it took this long.

Dice: "Am I so out of touch? No... It's the consumers who are wrong."
Yup who at the company thought that?
I talked to ea support once looking for help on my account that was banned when I hadn’t played the game for months, they basically told me there is nothing they can do for me. I simply voiced my frustration and said that it was kinda a waste of time trying to get help when this would be the end result, the customer support person then said me complaining was pointless and called me an “abdominal bully”. EA Is the joke of a company
XD Sheeesh, now they call the customer with a genuine issue a bully. As if outright saying that complaints will just be thrown into the shredder wasn’t enough, they also wanna take shots at their customers. Let’s hope EA ceases to exist in the coming years or some better people are hired, maybe then we’d have one less shit company to deal with in gaming.
That sounds like what a fat positivity supporter would call someone who wishes to be fit
Average Consumer: "It can't be worse than Battlefield V, right?"
Dice: "Hold my beer"
Not gonna lie, I really like the pacific maps of Battlefield 5. That's actually a lot of fun for me, but the Europe front is pretty eh.
For real
@@u.s.citizen9933 the EU front is not bad at all, but definitely carried hard by the gameplay and completely overshadowed by the Pacific front
BFV was a good game overall. It had a ruff start but I think it's fun for sure now. It just has to compete with BF1 and well let's be honest BF1 was as close to perfect as any game has ever gotten. Though when I saw that they had black females with prosthetic limbs on the frontlines in BFV, I knew that the next Battlefield was going to be a shit show.
@@wilhelmhetrick8948 yup just pandering I felt the same! I played the Alpha, Beta and thousands of hours on BF1 that game was just crazy good
If a scoreboard is a legacy feature then so is paying for their games.
holy shit what a roast
It’s not even worth it to pirate the game either
A I have 1000+ hours on BF4 and 700 hours on BF3. Those were amazing games, Dice really lost touch with reality.
Probably because most of the devs that actually cared to make these games so immersive left dice after bf5 and from there it's been gone to shit
And also evil assholes which also known as ea wanted this game rushed out the door without giving the devs enough time to finish it+they wanted to make the game like apex
@@pepsimaxguy7650 it's true. Most of the og DICE guys have left long ago and have either went to Embark Studios, or scattered to other game devs in Stockholm. This part is funny as hell to me,

@@faceripper77 Mafia 3 and Detroit Become Human are probably the most woke games to come out in recent memory, I don't think they were shit at all.
I'm glad you found your Destiny in terms of games. I refuse to talk about anything concerning that game because what made bungie great, has been long dead and the crap they put out was basically a predatory lie. Stick to your guns my dude and let the founded criticism flow!
Happy to see you’re one of us Roanoke!
Destiny is actually good. Not classic Halo good. But the gameplay is still Bungie’s great gameplay. The story is actually really good. Most of the problems with the eververse stuff is fixed. It consistently gets new updates and the major DLCs are actually worth the money.
YES finally someone who hasnt drunk the D2 coolaid. Content vault is a fucking crime. When New Light and Shadow Keep came out the game was great. It had tons of F2P content and a solid amount of dlc. Now it has no F2P content and their removing DLCs I paid for. Fuck Bungie worse mistake of my life was giving them money and falling in love with their game.
@@reaperking2121 Exactly, I stopped playing D2 before they made it free to play, so when I came back and realised that pretty much the full game and story that I paid for was essentially removed in favour of more pay walls of DLC was disheartening to say the least. It doesn't help that I played all of D1 and to see that D2's intro was a direct copy pasta of D1 killed it for me. I miss the Cabal war
@@DragonHornet When it first released as F2P it was actually pretty good. They had made the first 2 dlcs free and the base game free. The rest still had to be paid for. But yeah I'm pissed at what they removed. I really enjoyed playing the campaign and I enjoyed free roaming. What salso unforgivable si that they sunset weapons in a looter shooter. Where those guns op ? Yes. But then either fucking nerf the guns, add new weapons of equivalent shit or admit you messed up and just never release a weapon like that. Fuck d2

So stop buying Battlefield
If you buy the next one, what’s on you
They just strengthened my will not to preorder games and always wait for reviews after release to decide. Thanks ea
Didn't EA already make a BR game, Apex Legends? Which robbed us of the next Titanfall games. One BR game should of been enough. Cant wait for Madden Royale!
@@MrBole43 Elden Ring!
This just makes no sense, they already have Apex Legends, why the fuck do they want to compete against their own game instead of doubling down support on Apex, and letting DICE do what they've always done?
EA is lead by brain damaged chimpanzees.
This tells you something when the same person who gathered enough footage and information for a 45 minute video on and even saw potential for Cyberpunk 2077...couldn't even do it for 2042 due to how awful it is. Fucking Pathetic DICE
Cyberpunk i think is expected to be bad just because they are pushing a lot of boundaries.
Cyberpunk is a diamond in the rough. Whereas 2042 was just a dumpster fire.
@@archibaldmoore4514 and as of today it is FINALLY a polished diamond (on next gen consoles). Doing my third play through right now and it’s finally meeting and exceeding my expectations
@@Shmity113 Oh yeah, despite everything I can definitely say that cyberpunk is 100% worth your time.
Whos gonna say that about battlefield?
Making a good game must be a legacy feature too
No, that was a pre-order bonus.
@Mersa Kiya stop advertising your onlyfans.
That's a good analogy lol.
This is why I’m so against ‘fixing’ this game.
It’s polishing a turd. The game is bad to its core
I have some hope that they brought on the director of respawn to fix this mess, but man he's got a colossal task ahead of him that I think is ultimately insurmountable
EA: Notorious for not caring about players
Players: I’m gonna support this product
Ignore how battlefront 2 and bfv were making great content for the fans its fine, they only killed both of them for this shite
It's like paying a prostitute to shit on you.
I didn’t buy this shit, if they hadn’t given us the beta I’d have never known what a shit game it was. The trailers made it look like battlefield 4 but bigger and better, what a scam.
As a marketing major, you know a company has failed when they can’t figure out how to communicate to their customers
Like you see some will do market research on HOW TO TALK TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. It’s the most ridiculous, stupid thing.
They're lizard people trying to act human while producing games. It's unreal.
One of the main problems with the gaming industry nowadays is there's a lack of humility, connection with gamers and overall consumer respect. They basically want to milk IPs as much as they can and then blame the community when their soulless projects fail. F*ck that
I still can't believe how funny and pathetic it is to see DICE still insisting to call core features as "legacy features"
Pathetic.
