It's sad to share my thoughts with you. Really frustrating to see people trying to to profit of our failing expectations of what a good military shooter was, in the early 2000's COD was the game to get it and now they killed themselves with yearly release.
I remember when *My Team* went to Afghanistan, on my second deployment back on 2018. I had no idea *My Team* would be leaving several years later and *Enemy Team* would recapture all that territory and take ANA gear.

They seriously need to stop making yearly releases, take more time developing the game, support it for longer after its release, so that when we finally get a new game it actually feels fresh
Assassin's Creed did that and we got one new game that was a breath of fresh air after the divisive Assassin's Creed Unity (I personally think it's in the top 5 best mainline Assassin Creed games once you get past the glitches) and the average AC Syndicate. Although the should only be used for an example up to a certain point, as Ubisoft's greedy selves decided to take Origins great new framework and milk it for all it's worth, turning Assassin's Creed into something it was never meant to be: Honestly Odyssey and Valhalla barely feel like AC games, and knowing Activision, they'd milk whatever formula the CoD teams come up with when given an extra year for all it's worth. Scatch that, another year won't do any good in the long run as long as Activision continue to be on the same level as EA and Konami.
I’m with you. It’s tough because I want to be excited. But, it just feels like a MW19 reskin. That’s not entirely bad but I wish they’d make it feel fresh instead of recycled sounds from MW & COD WW2 and UI.
how is it a clone? it just uses the same engine. i dont get it, why are people complaining about this now when literally most cods in the past thats released a year later looked pretty similar to the previous one
I remember when I saw a RUclips ad for Vanguard and I, no joke, thought it was just a really, really belated DLC for WW2. So when I found out that Vanguard was an actual full game, I can’t even describe the unbridled amount of “meh” I felt. It’s like seeing a piece of cracked pavement, then seeing another similar one, thinking you may have gone in a circle, then the a sigh of sheer uneventful monotony as you walk on when you realize it’s just lazy coincidence.
Your comment perfectly summons up what we feel. Like the minute they announced another COD ww2 game I was like “Let me guess the Allies kicking German ass” Like WTF! That’s not fucking new.
My grandfather once told me that he fought as a guerilla during the "enemy team" occupation of Philippines during WW2. He welcomed the arrival of "My Team" during the liberation of the capital city Manila in 1945.

Has literally any game ever gotten the Winchester 1897 correct? I’m honestly not sure. This is a little thing, but it’s historical relevance. I own one of these, and I promise when you shoot it you know how different it is, being able to slam fire this gun was insane in the trenches of WW1 and in a smaller amount WW2 as well. It seems super easy to make, hold down trigger to slam fire, massive damage but very low accuracy. Idk I’m ranting, but it’s historically important, and extremely satisfying
@@Alex-gl5eo hell nah shit dogshit and stale, they all need to join together and release one every few years at this point. Hella other shooters that better and more balanced/competitive yall just to scared to get good at new games cause cod ez asf.

I'm kind of getting sick of repetitive gameplay and mechanics too, as well as multiplayer. The other day I played BF1 single player, and it was a blast! We need more breaths of fresh air like that.
The sad part is a lot of those "dot sights" are actually real gun sights for planes or tanks, but they need a huge fuckoff battery to power them. God forbid you don't have 30 different sights in your game
One of them is the sight of a Sherman tank which was used in Star Wars for the E-11 blaster rifle, which was a modified Sterling SMG from WW2. That's cool actually.

Honestly, I care so little about Vanguard. I’m just frustrated how Treyarch are getting treated now, because of Sledgehammers’ mistakes, and Activision’s constant need for zombie content.
Treyarch has always been the worst dev because of their god awful, hilariously bad hit detection. Vanguard felt so much more fun than Cold War simply because it has way better hit detection. The hit detection is so crispy that it makes the game way more fun. You can have all the bells and whistles and polish in the world, but if the shooting mechanics are poor, it ruins the entire experience. Compare Cold War’s hit detection to MW19 or Vanguard and it’s very obvious how poor Treyarch’s hit detection is.
That was a different breed of Treyarch, now they’re putting out terribly woke games like Shit Ops 4. And including women as field agents for the CIA in the Cold War. Come on now...
Controversial opinion, you have rose-tinted glasses. I replayed the campaign recently and while some of the soundtrack continues to be iconic and memorable, a lot of it was pretty bad imo. Hated the rock guitar in half the game, felt so inappropriate for the mood and atmosphere
finally someone mentioned the lack of factions. it is totally immersion breaking and I feel like most people don’t realize how flat the game will feel without them.
“If they went with a steampunk route” I would be fully onboard if COD said “screw it! We are already ignoring historical accuracy, let’s just make a game with an alt history setting.” Like if the Germans rallied and pushed the allies out of Europe and new radical weapons had to be made to try for another push.
Would imagine Hitler not rolling any dice and just sticking with Europe rather than invading the USSR, history would be a lot different had the NSDAP and USSR kept themselves from fighting one another.
@@austrakaiser4793 it would never happen. Knotsees and commies are ultimate enemies, from the start old uncle H’s ultimate goal was to seize and “cleanse” Eastern Europe for German settlers. He actually didn’t even want to fight the British or French, they forced his hand after Poland.
For the first time I completed a campaign on a different game, coming from someone who literally only plays multiplayer - these cod titles are done for worse and worse every year ww2 ww1 all recycled and recycled. I cant be bothered with how tiring it is to play multiplayer anymore its so so so so so so so so bad.
Calling it now. "I'm buying Call of Duty for the campaign" is not going to age well. I also see the hype for Battlefield 2042 didn't age that well either.
I guess COD is a bit lucky that Battlefield fucked their game up this time. If BF excelled once again like their last 2 games, i think it could really have put COD out of business 😂
We’ve reached a point where even with massive developments in technology, COD: World at War, a game released back in 2009, was the grittiest and best representation of a game set in that time period. If only Activision and Treyarch had the balls to remaster that gem. Newsflash: warfare doesn’t give a shit about political correctness. Either portray everything historically accurately or don’t bother at all. Or, go the Man in the High Castle or Wolfenstein route and state that it’s loosely based upon history. Moreover, jbecause some people blow a head-gasket at seeing a Nazi or The Rising Sun flag doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be represented in a historically-represented game. Moreover, it devalues and disrespects the millions that sacrificed their lives to stop an evil that had conquered most of the known world. There’s a reason why history falls under the category of education

You’re not alone. I think a lot of us feel this way seeing as we were playing black ops 1 in high school when it was new and so on. The touch has been lost with these games. Maybe part of it is that we’re just tired. The nazi thing and the “my team your team” thing really got me. Wow this game is just…dull.
It's really shame to watch people suck these c. World at war and Balck ops 1&2 were the true games. I fucking hate how this generation become slaves for vanguard or fortnite something
I've been playing since cod1 and I can say they lost me after black Ops 2. The best ones in my opinion were #4World at war #3Modern Warfare #2Cod1 #1Cod2. The new ones feel soulless and are pure cash grabs
Since they've decided to "connect the universes" it just makes buying a yearly game have even less incentive. Also every argument I've heard for factions being removed is "dOnT lOoK tO cOd FoR rEaLiSm" and "YoUrE jUsT cOm-(you get it)-plaining about things that don't matter". They just get lazier and lazier every year because they know they can get away with more and more shit year after year and they'll always have the brainless masses slurping up any monetized bullshit they dump out
"My Team" vs the "Enemy Team" is the last straw that made me not want to buy the game, even after seeing footage of hackers in the beta. Why would anyone want to buy a WWII game when Sledgehammer doesn't want to make it feel authentic? The whole multiplayer should have just been a Modern Warfare DLC with maps and guns, but instead we get a game everyone will stop playing when the new one comes out and Activision wants everyone to focus on Warzone
I even said I didn't care about realism, but I was irritated that SHG was saying their game was immersive... was immediately confronted by two morons who missed the bit where I said "I don't care if your game is immersive... just don't say your game is immersive when you do crazy shit." and whined about how I shouldn't expect CoD to be realistic. I replied to them pointing it out and the pussies never responded. Absolute cowards. I could give two shits about realism, but the moments devs throw out things like "immersive" and "makes you feel like you're in WW2", I expect them to follow through.
Ohhh but they tried They tried to change Call of Duty and give a new experience back in 2019, they tried it with MW19 and what they got? A lot of people pissed because "Awwww this doesn't feel like COD anymore :C they're trying to copy battlefield!"
The in-game model for the MG-42 is missing the Muzzle Device. This muzzle device was instead put in the pool of attachments as a “Recoil Booster” which yes it is, but without it, the MG-42 you get in-game would be bolt action because it needs the muzzle device to cycle properly.
Cant wait to March into battle with my perfectly capable comrade Jess, a 5ft4 125 pound green haired feminist with a neon pink M1 Garand with 6 attachments. Such an immersive experience
I'm loving the fact that almost every sight and attachment gives more cons than benefits making the guns slower and worse to play, I can mantain the ww2 guns aesthetic while tryhards struggle thinking that the guns suck.
@@mixkid3362 I don't really think that's what it's about. A lot of people are saying it's because of "political correctness" but I suspect it's actually because the game is now based on Operators which span across multiple different forces. Like I reckon the closest they could have come is maybe "Axis vs Allies" but even that wouldn't make sense if the same operators are playable on both teams. Yeah it's not "historically accurate" but even World at War had historically inaccurate things like all the announcers speaking in English, made-up scopes for different weapons and perks.
*If CoD makes a game before guns were a thing... The bows and arrows would have drum mags, red dot sights and 10 other attachments. The swords would have lazers to improve accuracy. Clubs would have a skin where it's made out of steel and has futuristic extention to kill a caveman from across the Stone Henge map.*
honestly screw people pushing for "offensive content" to be removed from gaming. we cant have an interesting historical game if we cant include the things that were bad back then. its so annoying that a small handful of people that are vocal make everything less interesting for the vast majority of others that dont get offended by a story in a game. gaming is just being ruined by the small groups that push for the removal of everything that is even slightly offensive to them. tired of it.
Literally Activision is doing it on their own. Games from Battlefield to even the new bullshit Wolfenstein have all sorts of "offensive content" in it without at issues, literally the people who would even complain are 65 year old parents just like back in the day only now it seems like Activision and co. care because profit = success. I think implying that studios who cover up sex offenders cases/associate with ones that do actually care about what the vocal minority or majority have to say is disingenuous

Here in the US it’s referred by some as the “forgotten war” because of much more impactful Vietnam was especially with the fact that it was the first televised war. It would be cool if we got a Korean War game including the other nations that served such the Koreans themselves, French, I think even Australians and some other British soldiers were there too. It has a lot of potential but at the same time would they even be able to keep it as immersive as World at War was? COD used to be great because they innovated and brought new things to multiplayer games, nowadays it’s rehashed shit. At least Cold War did something cool with the SP with the mission structure but it needs more at a fundamental gameplay design level. Not gimmicks tacked onto the run and gun formula but a real shift in the core of the gameplay.
I’m so sick of ww2 maps being sunny, generic, vaguely modern looking places. The cloudy, rainy, dingey looking maps from world at war make it feel much more oppressive and visually “ww2”. The creepy music and many announcers just add to the atmosphere which ww2 and vangaurd seem to be missing.

I feel like this is just another step on Activision's Warzone plan. If next game is futuristic with exo-tastic gameplay then it's clear to me that they are just bringing every era that cod has used (ww2, modern era, cold war, and "totally not titanfall") to warzone in the form of weapons, and the odd gameplay mechanic

@@Blu_Ski07 no, I had issues with that as well. Especially with the flat top M16s and Colt 733s. Those guns should’ve had fixed carry handles, and old school Aimpoints on them. Oh yeah, and the M16 shouldn’t have been a burst gun.
When he said
"... I should be reviewing Demon's Souls, I should be playing Red Dead Redemption 2 right now, but instead I'm talking about Call of Duty Vanguard..."

There you are- playing the pvp in your world war 2 shooter- and all of a sudden, you're the enemy team.
I love how everyone's takeaway from the Vanguard beta was basically: "Wow, now I'm even MORE excited for Battlefield 2042 and Halo Infinite!"
To me it was
"wow, im free to play Good games now"
I've been forcing myself to play Cold war which is getting stale at this point
@@Mohmar2010 same bruh, i just wanted to feel like my 60 bucks wasn’t a complete waste but i’m definitely not getting this new cod unless it’s on sale when it comes out

I’m surprised that cod has done almost every 20th century war except the korean war. I’d be interested in the first game based on that conflict.
You missed the gulf war nothing on that.
The Korean War was fucking brutal too, I read a comment on some military documentary video some time ago and that he knew a couple of people that served in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam and to my surprise he said the Korean stories were always the hardest to make them talk about it. WW2 and Vanguard are just disappointing when it comes to that, I just can’t see them doing it.
@@christopheryanez maybe it wouldn't work since China was the enemy and we all know activision would never portray their good friend china in a negative light.
They haven’t tried WW1.
@@mr.jimmeh lmao I remember that Cold War trailer that was like NEVER FORGET THE HISTORY but removed a clip of footage that showcased the Tiananmen Square massacre. It for sure wasn’t necessarily accurate with the game’s timeline but it was still so obvious as to why they did it

I cant voice my disappointment with the game enough, its like they stopped caring. 0 research, care or attention put in the game. Its not cod anymore. SHG shouldn't be allowed to make games, they melt everything they touch.
@Mr Mistah Because they literally made a WW2 DLC for MW that’s not worth 60 dollars
At least MG42 finally has Buzzsaw firerate
@Mr Mistah shill and racist
@Mr Mistah Cold war Zombies and campaign is great and much better than anything shg. ww2 campaign was awful
The maps in vanguard look like ww2 to me, Battlfield 5 maps on the other hand dont
Yea...
Yeah they tried that with mw but people kept complaining about visibility. The cod community hates dull colour palettes because it harms gameplay
@@msj201 I was just going to say this is a classic example of cod fans being divided on what they want. Ultimately there is just different cod games for different people.
Wtf???
People complain about MW19 being not so colorful like BO2 and BO4 but now it seems that they want more "cloudy, rainy, grey" looking maps?
They really just need to do a Vietnam game. Not a "cold war" game based all over the world, but a game focusing on solely the Vietnam war.
Yesss like Risingstorm series! Having factions like US Army, USMC, South Vietnam, North Vietnam, Australia, heck even France. Gun and operator potential would be as huge as MW2019….
A Cold War game focusing on the 1970s would be on my wishlist.
A good chunk of BO1 was set in Vietnam
Here's a revelation, how about a civil war game, so many of the world wars and those after but I've hardly seen a game about the civil war
@@dragonmaster3030 Although I agree that would be awesome, it'll never happen. The Civil War was an American war so it wouldn't sell anywhere other than the U.S and more importantly they also wouldn't be able to sell their ridiculous blueprint bundles.
@@entertainmentman3912 I’m not American i would be up for it Can not fix the blueprints issue tho

The lack of factions really took me out of this one. If I’m playing modern warfare I know that when I see a certain operator I need to shoot them, just seeing myself 12 times does my head in
I definitely agree
It allows your brain to triage the situation, which adds a new element to the game.
@@tobiasreaper3650 yea an element called dogshit

yeah, that's the problem. Now it's all just "Operators that you need to buy or complete special challenges", which is a complete waste of our money but "at least it looks cool!" Just give us pre-set appearances for classes! I don't think anyone except little children will complain.
“Why is Wolfenstein: The Old Blood so AWESOME?” When Actman?
patrolling the Mojave wasteland almost makes you want why is Wolfenstein: The Old Blood so AWESOME?
Modern Warfare was the first time in years I had that spark of joy in playing Call of Duty since Black Ops 2. Then Cold War and this took it all away
Cold war was great
Cold war is not that bad, but it can be much better
The campaign for Cold war is decent, I never play COD for its multiplayer trash. lol
@@yobig4541 it's alright same shit different day. MW felt like they were willing to try something new.
I’ve honestly hated and not had a lot of fun on any cod after Ghosts. Ghosts was hated but I really enjoyed it (have no clue how)
The current CoD: VG adds a laser-type weapon, a .357 with a small, dagger-like bayonet, the laser gun is hilarious and came straight out of Wolfenstein's Laserkraftwerk
After watching that "multiplayer reveal" thing, it's crazy seeing how formulaic it is. He even does that voice, you know, that E3 Phil Spencer Todd Howard voice.
Someone lying out their ass basically then.
I'm willing to bet the next Call of Duty is a reboot of Call of Duty MW2
@@GenerationZ313 there's a fair bit of evidence pointing to Modern Warfare II (not MW2 but the sequel to MW19)
