I know this is not what this was intended for but the camping kit tempts me to put in another seat on the back for an extra passenger if I need it, but what would hold me back would be the absence of a roll-bar. Could you add that to your wish list? Obviously that would increase the drag coefficient and for the most part it would not be driven that way. This is only for when it would be absolutely necessary to bring more than one other passenger along for a ride. Just as a rumble seat in antique cars was never intended to be the usual form of transportation, and yet it was there for when it was needed. What are your thoughts?

I really like this car, and love its looks, yet there a couple of things that need to be rethought, IMO. For starters, the doors open too wide for most parking spaces, which are usually narrow. Then, the fenders are too low. I don't see how one could avoid damaging them on a rough, uneven road surface.

Why not fit in half solar diamonds to max out solar potential power on hood, roof, fenders ... ? What I would love from an efficiency perspective is if the 1,000 mi battery pack could have ~ 80 lb by hand removable modules so weight/range could be be adjustable when that massive range was not needed in our typical day to day use. That begs the question, ..., what is the battery thermal management system? If it is liquid cooling this would be more difficult to engineer in, probably needing robust gaskets and pressure clamps. My experience road tripping with my 2013 Nissan LEAF with no good active thermal management system for the battery is that I end up having to make hour or more layovers just to get my battery temp to drop below red danger levels. It is the repeated charging, level 2 or 3 that overheats the battery, not the driving.

sorry, but so much talking no show. Talk is cheap. Just show something. It says more than a 1000 words. Like "designing like a car or the aptera way". Seriously, i'd love to see this come to fruition, but its much BS salesman talk. There is no mystery here. 100 years of cars have shown what works and what doesnt, and thats not matter of preference either. Thinking about how to activate the arm rest... seriously? Way to look for solution for problems that do not exist... You move beyond the manufacturing constraints? Honestly this kind of thing makes me mad because you are straight up BS'ing. You're bothered yb the steering wheel girth? YOu know that people have different sized hands and there is no way you can make it perfect to everyone? Again, 100yerars of steeringwheels have shown what the average is...

Steve Fambro has spoken about the Aptera way at length, and it could be summed up as "simplify". The parts count for this vehicle is far less than any other.

@@n.brucenelson5920 sure but that doesnt require reinventing the wheel, or in this instance, the cockpit. Your average person could easily tell you what has to go. And thats the end. The only challenge or need for any kind of designing, is the shell itself, which supposedly they have figured out.

@@fetB If it were that easy, other car companies would be doing it. They are too conservative, even Tesla, which finds it easier to throw megabucks into tooling. In fact, boat and aircraft manufacturers have already learned this lesson.

It would be if the single wheel were up front. Check the Moose trials on the website. At first the had a little wheel life at 45mph and quick lane changes. Rouse Racing has redesigned the suspension to eliminate this.

No one cares. People care if they ever make and deliver cars - you can design anything you want. If you make no cars or deliver them the design and re designs are worthless.

Anyone who is looking at the trend of warming gas in our atmosphere cares deeply about this. Show us cars that were manufactured before they were designed. You make zero sense. This Aptera was started the same year the Cybertruck was announced. There is a good chance I will be driving mine before the first Cybertruck is delivered, in spite of the relative resources of the two companies at the moment.

@@n.brucenelson5920 The fact is if people were really worried about climate they'd be all in car pools right now and 75% of the traffic would be gone; saving them time and money as well; but they are not thus I conclude they are not really worried. I do like efficiency ; one reason I liked the Aptera and wanted it to succeed but I am disappointed.
