Waiting for my Maiden D . Simon answered all my questions over e-mail and when we talked on the phone he was extra kind and nice. That experience alone is worth the money this days .Highly, highly recommended.

I run both a Maiden BF and a Constable JTM/BM into a Kingsley Hatchet phase inverter then into the efx return of a Revv D-20 then into a 1x12 cab. The sound is killer and blows everyone away. Thanks Simon

I want to order that Hatchet to run after my preamps. I heard Simons demo of it on his website, I definitely heard a difference. You’re the only person I’ve seen comment about it.
So, now that you’ve had it for a while, how are you liking it?
I have 3 of Simons pedals. I’m looking to get the Artisan and the Hatchet.

Simon lives a few minutes from me and is a local guitar hero and a great maker of tone. I am no longer using the Hatchet because I'm running his preamps clean and using many boost and overdrive pedals for dirt or straight into a power amp. It just works better for me doing sessions and using plugins for efx. I would recommend the Hatchet as a unique and amazing addition to a live rig.@@zenlandzipline

I have the Page v2. Love it. Simon is brilliant. I could listen to him talk about amplifiers for hours. His pedals give you the option to totally change the Preamp tone of your amp. Like having any style amplifier by just adding a pedal. It is also a trip that when you call to order your pedal, you actually talk to Simon. He is really a nice guy. Kingsley products are in high demand and usually have a waiting list, however, the pedals and amps are worth the wait.

I got a Juggler, service was fantastic, I was missed on the wait list, but Simon contacted me straight away and I had my pedal ( in Ireland ) within a couple of weeks. Contemplating what should be my next Kingsley pedal, though I’m loving Simon’s sweat shirt 😁

I've just received my Constable and Hatchet pedals from Simon. I'm using it as a preamp running into the effects return. The Hatchet is pushed to clipping with the Constable and sounds amazing. I'm also pushing the front end of the Constable with a Naga Viper treble booster for higher gain. The Hatchet has a volume that works as a master volume, so I can get high gain at lower volumes. EPIC! Honestly the best sounding amp I've ever owned.

I’m gonna get that Hatchet to run after my preamps. I have a Bogner Fish, a Randall RM4 (pre-Synergy modular preamp) and a Rocktron Valvesonic Plexi. I run them into a VHT 2100 Classic power amp. (Stereo EL 34 120 watts each side). I think the Hatchet is the missing ingredient in a separate preamp/power amp setup.
I heard Simons demo of it on his website, and I could definitely hear that added magic of the Hatchet.

In Line 6 HX, you can add the power amp simulation separately from the preamp. So you can use preamp pedal, choice of power amp simulation and cab sim

They have the separate preamp models, but the HX doesn't currently allow a separate power amp only. I run a Juggler into my HX stomp and you have to set the preamp of an amp model very very light to avoid a lot of saturation from the double preamp. You can also just bypass an amp model and run just an IR with the Juggler as an external preamp.
I have about half my 6-7 odd patches dialed in with the clean side of the juggler and amp model and IR and another 3-4 with just a bare IR (which for me is invariably a York Audio).
Also note that the HX preamp models have wildly different output levels since they are all models of the actual amp circuitry. One way around this is to get Simon's Hatchet which is a phase inverter in a box, then just use the HX entirely as IR + post processing.

It really just boils down to a good ear and creative approaches with pedals etc.I used a cheap solid state tape delay as a preamp into a JCM800 and got the greatest tone....by accident.

I have a few Kingsley pedals showing up next week. I will certainly experiment, but do you have suggestions: Page > Minstrel > Harlot or Harlot > Minstrel > Page? Where then might I place the Maiden or any other Kingsley preamp?

Hi Jeff. I saw you were going to have Simon on and since I was going to by a Maiden anyway I called Simon to order one to get my name on the mailing list your programing increased ordering. Simon is a really nice person. Who who see on this program is who you get on the phone. And he is a world class guitarist.

What makes #Kingsley preamp pedals unique versus an OverDrive OD pedal, is that they contain one or two 12AX7 preamp tubes inside. If that sounds familiar, the famous Tube Driver OD pedal designed by BK Butler has a 12AX7 tube inside. Mr. Butler is still hand making the Tube Driver today. I got one in 2023 handmade by the man himself.

Jeff, do you run your Jarrett pedals into the FX loop of your bloomfield or the amp input?

    • @JeffMcErlain
      @JeffMcErlain  Год назад

I run the non preamp ones in to the grin of the amp. So the Harlot or Jester. I have the juggler but I haven’t spent a lot of time with it in the front of the amp. I have used it on some gigs in the loop of a hotrod and it was great.

@@JeffMcErlain that Harlot sounds amazing through your Bloomfield. Is it going to be that much different than say something like a nobels ODR1?

Each #Kingsley preamp pedal has been refined over time with different versions. DS, TS, V1, V2, V3. Also count the number of knobs and mini-toggle switches. The more dodads, the more features. The highest version number typically has all the features of the DS, TS, V1 models.
