I have experienced good quality with both companies. However sometimes you could just have a quality issue with 1 product 1 time. I have worked in manufacturing facilities but sometimes people make a mistake. That would be my reasoning for the performance of the oil.

But remember the slick 50 of today is not the slick 50 of the seventies Mr. Bishop makes his product and you have to buy it exclusively from him because what you're buying on the shelf is nowhere near the product that hes making. When shell bought slick 50 they dramatically changed the formethically changed the formula it doesn't work today not even close so be awful careful....

Used Mobile 1 5W-20 in our 2005 CRV from new. Changed it yearly. Sometimes 9K, some times as high as 12K or so. At 100K, changed the plugs and checked valve clearance on the solid lifters. Intake was still dead on. The exhaust was about .002 off. Valve timing was still dead on and no wear on chain tensioners. Other than a slight oranges tan stain on a few places, inside was clean enough to eat out of. Engine still runs like new.

As to opinions about motor oils, I believe it depends on your make of vehicle, the particular engine in that vehicle and your driving style and distance from start up, and engine age/mileage. In my experience in a largely rural area, small block Chevys and Pontiac small displacement engines don't do well on either Quakerstate or Pennzoil, both high paraffin Pennsylvania crude based oils. This is especially true with higher mileage engines with a lot of ring blow by.

Tony P correct. This wear test is not representative of what engine oil does inside an engine. The engine has combustion. Heat and bearings designed to mesh with each other. Oil film keeps the bearings from really touching each other. This test is a piece of metal not a bearing making metal to metal contact under high rpms. Not a smooth bearing hardened metal touching another smooth bearing hardened metal.

I''m a retired GM Tech 38 years high performance and race engine builder . Don't know why you did this but you start with
two bottles of oil .Strange part is you do not show (skip) breaking the new sealed caps when you supposedly opened them.
Why is that? You and I both know the answer!! And your little machine test shows you with a syringe squirting the bearing.
The machines I have used like that all have a internal pump or a cup of the tested oil samarging the bearing. (accurate)
Mobil one is the only oil I use . I hope you don't mind but I'll be sending a copy of your Video to them, No doubt you will be hearing from their lawyers on this totally false slander . And you deserve it ! BTW I'm not kidding.

Can you test Amsoil engine oils? In March 2017 I bought a 99 Ford Expedition with 176000 miles for $800, i changed the oil and put Amsoil Signature 100% synthetic. 5000 miles later i drained the oil and when I removed the oil filter I found a lot of sludge accumulated in it, so dense it looked like tar. And I have watched other oil test videos that show that Amsoil is the best.

Your results are accurate because I have already done the bearing test with one of the two oils long time ago. The bearing test is actually not a fair comparison as thicker oils always gets better results. However, thicker oils can’t penetrate into tight clearances found in modern engines. So, I would stick on to ow20 and add anti friction additives such as MoS2.

A mechanic I worked with took the head off and pronounced ( this engine is like brand new) . It was a shit the water pump went out but the oil had kept the internals like new. I have a Hyundai Veloster Turbo and run Mobile 1 0-30 in it ! I believe it's doing its job , I change it every 7,500 miles even though it's probably good for twice that!

The engine had been running on Mobile 1 the entire race. I used it for 30 years in a 1987 Nissan Hardbody pickup with the 4 cylinder Z24 engine. Truck had 380K miles with no engine work when I gave it to a friend, who later sold it to a gardener about 2 years ago. It’s probably still running.

Don’t de rock me riz that’s not how it works. It “might” prevent/slow down further carbon buildup from accumulating on the intake valves but there’s just no way oil can remove what’s already there.
“If that doesn’t work then what does”? There’s multiple methods here on RUclips, many from Nate testing out GDI cleaners but in my opinion they barely do anything. Best method is to physically scrape it out or walnut blast. Then maybe try to maintain it with chemicals...

If Afe isn't available, I use Amsoil. Everyone should try afe pro guard oil filters. They're a fairly new company that makes premium OE auto parts. I use their high flow air filters to. I think they're a lot better then K&N filters. I don't work and I am not affiliated with Afe in any way. I just love their products. If you like K&N oil filters, air filters, you should definitely check out afe. They're better quality than K&N and their products are designed better. ESPECIALLY their oil filters that have the 3/8" racket hole in the top of their oil filters that make it a breeze taking the oil filter off when changing oil. Especially for oil filters that are in tight spaces, hard to reach. Where you can't get a oil filter wrench in there. Stick a 3/8" racket in there, loosen the filter in a second.
