Thanks. Allergies could be caused due to a variety of reasons. If possible do switch to a organic diet. Pesticides are also known to cause allergies. Reduce gluten in your diet. Reduce the use of refined flour,bread, noodles etc. Plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables,high fibre diet, enough water and a good level of physical activity is an integral part of good health. Thank you for this soup recipe, We usually make pumpkin stew by cooking pumpkin pieces along with pepper, slit green chillies and salt.. after turning off burner, fresh coconut milk will be mixed with it, then half teaspoon coconut oil for aroma and curry leaves too...

Madam, Namaskarams, Very important thing that you have to mention for RA, I am RAW vegan and still suffering because of high histamine foods that I was eating like large quantities of spinach. Then my physician who told me the raw vegan approach said that I am likely affected and still inflaming with histamine. Your recipe is great food for vegan, not for me since I am raw vegan. But for vegans who want to heal you need to correct that all pumpkins other than butternut pumpkin and cucumbers are high histamine and people with that intolerance should completely avoid to reverse RA. Since you are talking about diet and health, this is primordial for everyone suffering with RA looking scratching their heads to heal. Oh and once they heal, they can include some histamine foods once in a while and tolerate them.

Munch & Mull Yes, we are all learners everyday. I learned this after being on Ayurvedic medics recommended by an Ayurvedic doc and a 100%raw vegan diet being recommended and monitored by my Carnegie Melon educated Doctor to be on (heavy nutritious raw food that is high quantities) and my pain improved by 70%, but the remaining 30% is my fight now when there is this pain left. This is when she pointed out that I may also have histamine intolerance. So I am on further elimination of high histamine foods (which is a trigger of inflammation). I am on 85% raw vegan diet now and I was looking for recipes. So you covered a lot about the rich pumpkin, which is much needed and much appreciated. When a diet is recommended to heal People like me want to grab these recipes and use it in large quantities, so I got worried here. Hence the suggestion...

Namaskarams. Coconut milk usage is definitely better than using refined oil!!!! Human body does require healthy fats for metabolism. Vit D and other fat soluble vitamins needs healthy fats for their absorption. Physical activity and a fibre rich diet help in healthy absorption of fats!!! So anything in moderation is good. Any type of fat, needs to be consumed in moderation, coupled with a good quantity of fresh fruits, vegetables and a good level of physical activity.Best to avoid hydrogenated fat like Dalda!!!😊😊🙏🙏. Hi mam, this recipe is very simple to make nd get more benefits. But for arthritis people pumpkin will cause gas as per auyerveda. I don't know much. Pls clarify me.
Namaskarams Geetha. I do not know detailed aspects about Ayurveda. My mother's Ayurvedic doctor has advised her to avoid potatoes,beans, cabbage and cauliflower as it causes gas!!!! But this recipe was an example to convey that a predominantly gluten-free, vegan diet which is also rich with fresh fruits and vegetables is good to reduce inflammation in the body. Anyway one can use other vegetables also to make soup. This was just an example. Also we would not be consuming the soup made with the same vegetable on a daily basis. We can make soups with a variety of vegetables. Pumpkin as such has a lot of nutrients. But,in case you would like to avoid it, that's perfectly fine. . Fat soluble Vitamins fail to get absorbed,in absence of healthy fats. A proper diet has to go hand in hand with physical activity. So coconut milk consumption,once in a while will not cause harm!!!! Yes. Pumpkin is safe for diabetes. High fibre vegetables are safe. A good fibre rich diet with essential nutrients coupled with physical activity is advised for diabetics. This soup and soups made with other vegetables like carrot, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, ashgourd will help in reducing inflammation. Gourds are alkaline by nature and thus are healthy for the body. Osteoporosis is caused due to a multiple of reasons. Osteoporosis is not just calcium deficiency. Calcium absorption needs Vit D and Vit D needs fats for absorption. Thanks. Allergies could be caused due to a variety of reasons. If possible do switch to a organic diet. Pesticides are also known to cause allergies. Reduce gluten in your diet. Reduce the use of refined flour,bread, noodles etc.
Plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables,high fibre diet, enough water and a good level of physical activity is an integral part of good health.
Avoid polished white rice. Choose a combination of unpolished rice and millets.

Namaskaram. This soup is just an example of rheumatoid arthritis diet. You could make it with others vegetables also like carrot, beetroot, tomatoes, ashgourd,snake gourd etc.
Reducing gluten,like wheat and refined flour based food helps reduce inflammation.
Avoid nonvegetarian food.
Avoid vegetables like potato cabbage cauliflower peas that cause gas.

Madam, Namaskarams, Very important thing that you have to mention for RA, I am RAW vegan and still suffering because of high histamine foods that I was eating like large quantities of spinach. Then my physician who told me the raw vegan approach said that I am likely affected and still inflaming with histamine. Your recipe is great food for vegan, not for me since I am raw vegan. But for vegans who want to heal you need to correct that all pumpkins other than butternut pumpkin and cucumbers are high histamine and people with that intolerance should completely avoid to reverse RA. Since you are talking about diet and health, this is primordial for everyone suffering with RA looking scratching their heads to heal.
Oh and once they heal, they can include some histamine foods once in a while and tolerate them.

Munch & Mull Yes, we are all learners everyday. I learned this after being on Ayurvedic medics recommended by an Ayurvedic doc and a 100%raw vegan diet being recommended and monitored by my Carnegie Melon educated Doctor to be on (heavy nutritious raw food that is high quantities) and my pain improved by 70%, but the remaining 30% is my fight now when there is this pain left. This is when she pointed out that I may also have histamine intolerance. So I am on further elimination of high histamine foods (which is a trigger of inflammation).
I am on 85% raw vegan diet now and I was looking for recipes. So you covered a lot about the rich pumpkin, which is much needed and much appreciated. When a diet is recommended to heal People like me want to grab these recipes and use it in large quantities, so I got worried here. Hence the suggestion...

Namaskarams. Coconut milk usage is definitely better than using refined oil!!!! Human body does require healthy fats for metabolism. Vit D and other fat soluble vitamins needs healthy fats for their absorption. Physical activity and a fibre rich diet help in healthy absorption of fats!!!
So anything in moderation is good. Any type of fat, needs to be consumed in moderation, coupled with a good quantity of fresh fruits, vegetables and a good level of physical activity.Best to avoid hydrogenated fat like Dalda!!!😊😊🙏🙏.

Hi mam, this recipe is very simple to make nd get more benefits. But for arthritis people pumpkin will cause gas as per auyerveda. I don't know much. Pls clarify me.
Namaskarams Geetha. I do not know detailed aspects about Ayurveda. My mother's Ayurvedic doctor has advised her to avoid potatoes,beans, cabbage and cauliflower as it causes gas!!!!
But this recipe was an example to convey that a predominantly gluten-free, vegan diet which is also rich with fresh fruits and vegetables is good to reduce inflammation in the body.
Anyway one can use other vegetables also to make soup.
This was just an example. Also we would not be consuming the soup made with the same vegetable on a daily basis. We can make soups with a variety of vegetables.
Pumpkin as such has a lot of nutrients.
But,in case you would like to avoid it, that's perfectly fine. . Once in a while consumption will not harm!!! 😊

You could use, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, snake gourd, ashgourd, beetroot, carrots for the soup. Avoid potatoes, cabbage cauliflower and peas as they could increase vata or gas!!! Avoid gluten that's common in maida and wheat. Use millets instead for roti making. Unpolished rice is good.
Also have a rich source of antioxidants in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Namaskarams. Coconut milk usage is better than using refined oil. Some amount of healthy fats are necessary for the proper functioning of our body. Fat soluble Vitamins fail to get absorbed,in absence of healthy fats. A proper diet has to go hand in hand with physical activity. So coconut milk consumption,once in a while will not cause harm!!!!
People have a lot of misconceptions of fats. Healthy Fats in moderation is absolutely fine.

Yes. Pumpkin is safe for diabetes. High fibre vegetables are safe. A good fibre rich diet with essential nutrients coupled with physical activity is advised for diabetics.
Refined sugar, processed food, fat rich foods, are not advised for diabetics.

Yes,you can safely have this. Stomach fat can be reduced by having a fibre rich diet of whole grains, fresh fruits vegetables,low fat diet. Plenty of water and a sufficient amount of physical activity.
Avoid processed food, refined flour, Non vegetarian food. By following these guidelines,you will see reduction in stomach fat.

Namaskarams. This is just one of the recipes to give an idea.
Basically,a gluten free,low or no dairy products and a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables help to relieve symptoms.
So you can have this soup either as an accompaniment to lunch or dinner or its quite filling to have as dinner.
A diet consisting of a variety of vegetable soups ,fresh fruits and vegetables salad,brown rice and millets will help reduce inflammation.
Try and reduce dairy products.
Hope this helps. It's also better to avoid non vegetarian food 😊😊

Namaskaram Kala. Yes,you can have sathu maavu. Avoid wheat,refined flour, which is rich in gluten. Have more of millet, brown rice. Reduce dairy. You can have diluted buttermilk. Avoid sour foods.
Yea,you can have peanut milk, coconut milk,soya milk etc. Keep dairy products to a minimum.
Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Avoid vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower,peas, potato that cause gas,and increase vata Dosha.

Will this soup hold good for osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
This soup and soups made with other vegetables like carrot, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, ashgourd will help in reducing inflammation. Gourds are alkaline by nature and thus are healthy for the body. Osteoporosis is caused due to a multiple of reasons. Osteoporosis is not just calcium deficiency. Calcium absorption needs Vit D and Vit D needs fats for absorption.
So a diet rich in essential vitamins, minerals, sunlight, good fats and physical activity go a long way in treating osteoporosis and osteoarthritis!!!
