I use the lemon peel for cleaning grime off utensils, kitchen tiles and kitchen window glass. I find the acidity helps in loosening the oily deposits easily. Also if the refrigerator has food smells you can use the lemon peel + baking soda to clean off and give fresh citrus smell. You can use boiled lemon peel water in bathing as well with the essential oil giving a freshness feeling. But i only do it occasionally not overdoing it.
Thanks for the informative video, I also collect Lemmon peels in a glass jar with a little salt and put it inside the freezer whenever I got peels I just add them into this bottle and mix all of them, when they become soft one can use accordingly in chutney, pickles, marmalade etc.
Amazing insights of maximising the use of lemon peels. I usually use the peels for two aspects 1- soak them in water along with other fruit extracts and use the water for my plants. 2-preserve the peels for Citrus bio enzyme. This liquid has amazing cleaning properties. But now i have learnt new ways to make Lemon pickle and Lemon marmalade. A big thank you ❤ 🙏

To treat Fatty liver, the whole lemon including rind, pulp and seeds should be blended in the mixer with water. Make the total volume to 300ml add 1-2 tsp ACV , a pinch of pink salt and some honey or jaggery. It is a bitter-sour-sweet drink which can be consumed in the morning everyday. Rinse the mouth after consuming to protect the enamel of teeth. We can use lemon zest as a topping on salads, soups, desserts like souffle and meringue and many other rice or vegetable dishes.

I always make pickles from lemon peel. I add one or two lemon juice because I like pickles a little juicy. I make gojju too not only with lemon peel but with citron peel orange peel too. The gojju is just marvellous with hot rice and a little bit of groundnut oil on the rice. Mix with hands thoroughly and eat. This is just the south indian way.
Would like to know recipe of gojju. If you can key it in here,it will help others too. Thanks a ton for your sharing. Regards Sujata from Munch and Mull
@@munchandmull Here's my recipe for Orange peel Gojju (Kaai-ras) This is a variant. The original recipe is using Citron fruit (naarthangai). However, my husband and I absolutely loved the orange one. ORANGE PEEL KAAIRAS 1.Soak lemon sized tamarind in water and take out extract Squeeze out the juice from half an orange and keep it aside. To be used at the end. 2. Chop orange peel into small pieces (1 cup) and sauté it in 2 tsp ghee for a few mins till they shrink a bit. Let it cool 3. Blend 2-3 tsp of sambar powder+ 1 tbs grated fresh coconut + 1-2 tsp jaggery powder + 1 tsp rice flour+ Hing pd+ 1 tsp of the sautéed orange peels 4. Boil tamarind extract with haldi powder and 1-2 chopped green chillies . When the chillies change colour, add the sautéed orange peel pieces and boil for a few mins . 5. Then add the ground paste , mix evenly, add salt and cook till it thickens. Add water later as per your preference. 6. Remove from flame and put 1/2 tsp methi-chilli powder on top. 7. Over this, add tadka of mustard seeds, broken red chilli, few udad dal and curry patta and mix. 8. Last of all, add the fresh orange juice and mix in properly. This can be had with rice or as a chutney with dosa, Chappati, dahi bhath
@@munchandmullI make many varieties. Easy one I will put it here. Finely chop the peel. In a pan put some oil fry the finely chopped peel to golden brown. Then add some finely chopped ginger, fry for some time, then I add( jeerige menasu )bird eye chilli crushed roughly in stone , then add thick tamarind water, jaggery ,salt also dry roasted and powdered mustard seeds 1 tsp and quarter Tsp methi seeds roasted.( All the quantity differs on how much you make. ) . Then simmer and let the gojju cook thoroughly. It's like honey consistency. Neither watery nor very thick. This gojju can be kept for many days. This one is usually done by using orange peel or citron peel. They will taste bitter. Kids won't like. Lemon peel tokku I make. But it's usually very bitter . But we eat because it's good for health.

Yes I agree. We call it kaai-ras. It is delicious
@@munchandmull Here's my recipe for Orange peel Gojju (Kaai-ras)
This is a variant. The original recipe is using Citron fruit (naarthangai). However, my husband and I absolutely loved the orange one.
ORANGE PEEL KAAIRAS
1.Soak lemon sized tamarind in water and take out extract
Squeeze out the juice from half an orange and keep it aside. To be used at the end.
2. Chop orange peel into small pieces (1 cup) and sauté it in 2 tsp ghee for a few mins till they shrink a bit.
Let it cool
3. Blend 2-3 tsp of sambar powder+ 1 tbs grated fresh coconut + 1-2 tsp jaggery powder + 1 tsp rice flour+ Hing pd+ 1 tsp of the sautéed orange peels
I love your videos.
Thanks for the input. Will take care from the next video.

They quickly catch fungus if even i leave for a day outside . Esp since I have a tree and most fruiting happens in the rains
Then sprinkle a little salt and store.
Best to store in the fridge immediately after squeezing the juice out.In this case you can use the peel for pickle. Regards Sujata from Munch and Mull
