Since the layers/brush palette was covered with everybody's stats in this video, I wanted to mention in case anybody was curious about the brushes I used for this painting that they were just the same as my usual ones, which you can find pretty handily by pausing any of my other speedpaints and checking the settings in the brush palette! :) (And thank y'all for all the great comments so far, it's been ace to hear your thoughts on the party! :D)
Your art is so beautiful! I am just so taken in by everything you do. Would you please consider doing a coloring tutorial? Especially I struggle so much with when to blur and when to leave the harsh edge when shading... Whenever I draw digitally it usually turns out too blurred or cell-shading DX I need help!

I know it sucks to hear, but just practice a lot and you can get better! Study artists you like and do the silly technical practice whenever you can force yourself to and it'll get better. I'm in a place where my(low) skill has capped so I need to bite the bullet and get back to the basic practice stuff, so I know all that practice is real intimidating T-T
Do you hear the fondness in his voice? That alone makes this party seem so fun. And it makes it seem like so much more about the characters, not the adventures. I'm so jealous. Edit: Gods, the constant array of creativity in these character designs. I feel like such a novice. I actually cried. This group sounds so fun to be a part of.
It is the audible fondness and joy in his voice that keeps bringing me back to this video. If I ever don’t know what to watch on RUclips, I default to this not only because the art is beautiful and the speed paint is satisfying as heck but also because of the absolute positivity that I can feel radiating through the screen.
Personally, I think Brio's appearance and intimidation score suggests the sort to be giggling evilly in the background, holding her lute in a menacing manner and writing a song about how painful your demise will be- Cute but Psycho Creepy Child behaviour used deliberately to ward off enemies.
If your Dungeon Master isn't ominously in the background than you best be very *very* afraid. We only show our faces when we mean to destroy everything you love :P
It's funny- I've drawn my party before with the DM (me) in the middle with golden armor as the Man-Emperor of Mankind. You can tell I am a rather modest individual.
what a mess HAHA, I’m a nervous wreck. My first game of D&D starts next week, I barley know any of the team members and I’m afraid that my character won’t be good enough compared to everyone else’s (I haven’t even got to see the other characters, so that makes me even more of a nervous wreck!) but at the same time I can’t wait to start! And get to know everyone in the group (possibly draw all of our characters :3) And at some point, I hope my character dies, so I can make another character that is linked to mine in some way, such as: A sister/brother who was presumed dead, or a best friend from the past whom found out about their friend’s death and decided to join the group and seek revenge, or just a completely different character that may have a similar personality... which everyone would keep saying “You’re just like her in so many ways.” Which would sort of form a connection between my dead character and the newer one.
I always get used for traps. Me being a 2'8 reaper and everything, but im suprised i have not died yet. I also have almost died from a traps every time but Im just the luckiest in our dnd group

Yeah definitely not a genasi thing, I myself play a fire genasi called Dagaj and that guy is just ... well in a nutshell, he's a sarcastic sorcerer that has a god complex and a charisma value that is too high for most people to be mad at him for said god complex ... like, thanks to his more intricate traits, he's some serious fun to play, actually, but at the most basic traits, he's just a god damn dickbag (besides, I shouldn't have given him the voice that I gave him, too much rasp to survive one session without a truckload of water)

Always trying to get more money than the rest of the party from whatever money cache he gets his hands on first and trying to swoon basically whatever female he thinks he has a chance with.

that's no party, that's a full blown guild! also one of my favorite things as an (admittedly less talented) artist and D&D player is character arts; my friends and I went through like 5-6 campaigns this year trying to find a suiting style, and it became sort of an unspoken fact that no campaign is truly "official" until I bring the character art

Terra: Drawn like a monk, labeled as an eldritch knight, described with a warlock spell. Color me confusioned. Regardless, this is a really cool piece. May the dice be in your favor.
Since Terra is an eldritch knight, which is a sub-class of fighter, that essentially makes her a wizard that could take a hit (sorry to all those who willingly choose to play a wizard). And since this is a homebrew campaign, why not give this magic fighter a warlock's cantrip?

Emmy Animates it’s an “internet language” thing. It shows an uplift in voice and half drawn-out sounds. Generally used to indicate a half-surprised appreciation.
I immediately found myself loving Ava. A party animal druid who writes smut based on the party's adventures? I don't really need to know more than that to think she's the greatest thing ever. XD I also like Zada, Mina, and Malark. Zada almost entirely for her adorable design (she looks a little like a princess to me for some reason), Mina for that story about how she picked up everyone in the party and throwing them onto the ground to turn them back into people after being transformed into snakes (that and her long, beautiful hair), and Malark because he's really good looking and I like the whole enemy defecting to the party's side thing, as well as the thought of him having a warm heart that's encased in ice, but is slowly melting the longer he's around the rest of the party. (The way he and Paddy are positioned also makes me want to ship them together, too.)
One of the things that i appreciate most about your art work is that ALL of your female characters...are wearing covering armour or clothing...and are not unrealistically skimped down to nothing, makes a refreshing change.
Help? I think I ship Paddy and Malark, and this is the only time I’ve even heard of them.. Maybe how in the picture they seem like they’re looking at each other, and Paddock was described as a ‘gay disaster’(and is now my favourite boi)

So if they dont like black they could just use a real dark contrasting color to get the job done. Oh lol idk y I'm telling you bc you probably dont care about what I have to say 😅
the first time i watched this a few months ago, i wondered why ava, a female, had stubble. now, watching it again, and actually knowing about D&D, realize that shes a dwarf and dwarf women have facial hair. i think the stubbles a good touch. really brings her design together i think.

I rarely comment on videos but this piece is so incredibly stunning that I can't even come up with fitting compliments for it? It's AMAZING. In fact, listening to the small descriptions had me skim back and forth, so that I could meet the characters first and then get a scoop on the drawing and whatnot. I started my first game last Sunday and we are having our second session tomorrow and I can't express how excited I am to be playing. I can't wait for tomorrow. Our DM just so happened to end the last session with us discovering that the girl we were trying to look for, who had been captured by cultists, was actually being guarded by an adult black dragon. That threw a wrench in our plans to rescue her. It literally ended with our legitimately insane warlock walking out in front of the dragon and attempting to speak with it. We are only level 2... We can't fight a dragon xD needles to say I am anxious for tomorrow's game.
I have some tips and guide lines for you: 1. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SPLIT THE PARTY! EVER! I DON'T CARE WHATS GOING ON! 2. Don't make dice towers. 3. If your ever offered a crystal necklace with a ancient dragon inside, DON'T TAKE IT, though this is more personal experience... It didn't not end well for that character, she ended up killing herself and dooming the world 4. NEVER TURN ON YOU ALLIES/FELLOW PLAYERS, THEY ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE YOU CAN TRUST!! NOT EVEN THE DMS CHARACTERS (which leads me to my next one) 5. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRUST THE DM, HE/SHES ALWAYS OUT THERE TO GET YOU!!! Other then that I am sure you're going to enjoy your first game, (1&5 are the most important btw)
Mina is my favorite She has one of the coolest simple designs in the picture, and she seems like a really cool character. "Throwing snakes on the ground head first" sounds like a funny experience maybe. Must be nice making characters in D&D Great work on the art, I love your artstyle 😁
Not seeing anyone talk about this but I would not want to face up against an absolute MONSTER like Ava Green who doesn’t have a SINGLE -# on any stat, probably mastered the “drunken fist” style on accident, and can’t even die properly
I sat through the whole half hour of this video, it was really engaging and really interesting to learn about each character individually as you drew them! the designs are all so unique and beautiful, and the final piece looks amazing. I've never played DnD, and I don't know much about it, but it seems really interesting! I think there's a club for it at my school so i might join it.

I'm not very knowledgeable about DnD, but if y'all have a map then maybe you should do a drawing of that? I think it would be pretty cool and interesting to see where all the characters' home towns and stuff like that is in relation to each other! And the drawing was fantastic, the way you portrayed the characters just really emphasized their personalities you described and I'm in love with your art style!

In story they are one big party that spilts up into "gang FireEatingChicken" and "gang IceCrunchingTurtle" and each of them has their own combat encounters at different times... Usually the players even find another party member or two to partner up with constantly for nonsensical fuckery... And honestly it feels like just a giant guild... Hardest part of all of it honestly is balancing combat... Except since there are 7 clerics...

Oh my god, please draw Malark, Paddy and Mina interacting together. They were my fav characters in this, their designs are really cool and they sound like such interesting characters. My absolute favourite is Malark, because he's an ASSASSIN!!!! I have never played DnD before (and probably never will), I thought was a video game lmao, but it actually seems pretty fun!
In my d&d group, we have a running gag between all of our sessions that ties them all together. The main dm has a monk character who is immortal and is used to help us stay on track. To say we get side tracked alot is an understatement. She appears in every session, along with my rat folk family. It started off with Twig the ice rouge. He and the monk, whos a tabaxi, always picked on each other. Now that Twig is a king, she trained his younger brother, Pebble the bard. Now she is training Pebble's twins. They're Ram the paladin and Sheep the cleric. They haven't had a chance to join the group yet since we're taking small break but I'm excited to use them. My friend when got on the trend and together we worked on Twig and Pebble's uncle, Branch. The only way we can think to describe him is 'bulbous'. He is SUPER old and riddled with tumors(which are a normal thing for old rats) and refuses to die in general. Imagine any insane, senile grandpa from almost any show and you got Branch. Its been fun seeing Twig's family grow so much, since him and his brother were orphaned as such a young age. I've drawn all of them at least once to show the group with I imagine them as, but never as a group. I want to now though. You're art is amazing!
I just got into D&D and I absolutely love your portrait of your party! Both Paddy and Nagar really interest me; Paddy because his design is just so amazing and very nice to look at, and Nagar because he's a dragonborn. My first character that I'm creating for a meeting this Friday is a dragonborn druid. I honestly love her to bits and I'm hoping to be able to get some art of her recorded and up on my channel soon.
When I first watched this video say- 3/4 years ago I got rlly inspired to start doing dnd, but didn't know anything at the time Coming back to this now- going on my 3rd year of playing dnd and currently playing an Air genasi who is the sweetest boy ever, I do, in fact, believe that being a sweetheart it a genasi thing.

It doesn't, at least not quite. In most modern incarnations you loose stamina and only can be ressurected so many times.

Since Terra is an eldritch knight, which is a sub-class of fighter, that essentially makes her a wizard that could take a hit (sorry to all those who willingly choose to play a wizard). And since this is a homebrew campaign, why not give this magic fighter a warlock's cantrip?

I immediately found myself loving Ava. A party animal druid who writes smut based on the party's adventures? I don't really need to know more than that to think she's the greatest thing ever. XD
I also like Zada, Mina, and Malark. Zada almost entirely for her adorable design (she looks a little like a princess to me for some reason), Mina for that story about how she picked up everyone in the party and throwing them onto the ground to turn them back into people after being transformed into snakes (that and her long, beautiful hair), and Malark because he's really good looking and I like the whole enemy defecting to the party's side thing, as well as the thought of him having a warm heart that's encased in ice, but is slowly melting the longer he's around the rest of the party. (The way he and Paddy are positioned also makes me want to ship them together, too.)

I rarely comment on videos but this piece is so incredibly stunning that I can't even come up with fitting compliments for it? It's AMAZING. In fact, listening to the small descriptions had me skim back and forth, so that I could meet the characters first and then get a scoop on the drawing and whatnot. Im just learn of D&D last week n ibalready bought a set of dice to try n play with my friends
I started my first game last Sunday and we are having our second session tomorrow and I can't express how excited I am to be playing. I can't wait for tomorrow. Our DM just so happened to end the last session with us discovering that the girl we were trying to look for, who had been captured by cultists, was actually being guarded by an adult black dragon. That threw a wrench in our plans to rescue her. It literally ended with our legitimately insane warlock walking out in front of the dragon and attempting to speak with it. We are only level 2... We can't fight a dragon xD needles to say I am anxious for tomorrow's game.
I have some tips and guide lines for you:
1. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SPLIT THE PARTY! EVER! I DON'T CARE WHATS GOING ON!
2. Don't make dice towers.
3. If your ever offered a crystal necklace with a ancient dragon inside, DON'T TAKE IT, though this is more personal experience... It didn't not end well for that character, she ended up killing herself and dooming the world
4. NEVER TURN ON YOU ALLIES/FELLOW PLAYERS, THEY ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE YOU CAN TRUST!! NOT EVEN THE DMS CHARACTERS (which leads me to my next one)
5. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRUST THE DM, HE/SHES ALWAYS OUT THERE TO GET YOU!!!
Other then that I am sure you're going to enjoy your first game, (1&5 are the most important btw)

I just realized that almost this whole party is just filled with gentle giants and sassy shorties.
I sat through the whole half hour of this video, it was really engaging and really interesting to learn about each character individually as you drew them! the designs are all so unique and beautiful, and the final piece looks amazing.
I've never played DnD, and I don't know much about it, but it seems really interesting! I think there's a club for it at my school so i might join it.

I think it would be pretty cool and interesting to see where all the characters' home towns and stuff like that is in relation to each other! In story they are one big party that spilts up into "gang FireEatingChicken" and "gang IceCrunchingTurtle" and each of them has their own combat encounters at different times... Usually the players even find another party member or two to partner up with constantly for nonsensical fuckery... And honestly it feels like just a giant guild... Hardest part of all of it honestly is balancing combat... Except since there are 7 clerics...

Oh my god, please draw Malark, Paddy and Mina interacting together. They were my fav characters in this, their designs are really cool and they sound like such interesting characters. My absolute favourite is Malark, because he's an ASSASSIN!!!! I have never played DnD before (and probably never will), I thought was a video game lmao, but it actually seems pretty fun!

God, every D&D party needs a good artist, it's just so awesome to see peoples characters brought to life.
In my d&d group, we have a running gag between all of our sessions that ties them all together. The main dm has a monk character who is immortal and is used to help us stay on track. To say we get side tracked alot is an understatement. She appears in every session, along with my rat folk family. It started off with Twig the ice rouge. He and the monk, whos a tabaxi, always picked on each other. Now that Twig is a king, she trained his younger brother, Pebble the bard. Now she is training Pebble's twins. They're Ram the paladin and Sheep the cleric. They haven't had a chance to join the group yet since we're taking small break but I'm excited to use them. My friend when got on the trend and together we worked on Twig and Pebble's uncle, Branch. The only way we can think to describe him is 'bulbous'. He is SUPER old and riddled with tumors(which are a normal thing for old rats) and refuses to die in general. Imagine any insane, senile grandpa from almost any show and you got Branch. Its been fun seeing Twig's family grow so much, since him and his brother were orphaned as such a young age. I've drawn all of them at least once to show the group with I imagine them as, but never as a group. I want to now though. You're art is amazing!
I just got into D&D and I absolutely love your portrait of your party! Both Paddy and Nagar really interest me; Paddy because his design is just so amazing and very nice to look at, and Nagar because he's a dragonborn. My first character that I'm creating for a meeting this Friday is a dragonborn druid. I honestly love her to bits and I'm hoping to be able to get some art of her recorded and up on my channel soon.
