Super inspired to transition into travel filmmaking next year, and your videos have helped keep that flame going in between adventures. Keep killing it and making a difference, Sam!!
Sam, I discovered your channel not that long ago and have now watched several of your videos really enjoying them. I loved the one of you giving your dad his dream car. That was special. Not sure why but, something about this one made me emotional and choke up. In a good way. Not only are you an artist, but you also come across as a genuinely kind person. In addition to what you're doing now, you'd also be a great teacher and motivator. I will check out the other artists that you recommended. I look forward to your next video.
"Sam, your solo filmmaking video is pure fire! Your ‘My Year’ series inspired me to start documenting my own trips, and this latest piece proves once again that one person can create magic. Thanks for the endless inspiration!"
I am very new to all of this. Leaning my fX3. These players are so so good at their job. What I learnt today is to close your eyes, imagine a script, write it on paper and start working on it in detail as much as you can. And keep practising to get more and more sharper.
Sam ⚡️ It’s so so special to get a real behind the scenes look into your thought process to see how you bring ideas and emotions on to the screen! Would love to see much more of this!! What an honor to be a small part of the inspiration in this video! Genuinely grateful 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Love it brutha! I think it ultimately comes down to how the person behind the camera sees the world and the experiences, both good and bad, they have had in it. There is a point in every artist's journey where they fully discover what they want to say to the world, and when you find that, it's the best feeling.
Two things, you are such a great communicator. Every time I watch one of your videos, the messaging is so clear. Second, you and Zach absolutely killed this edit. The ending?!!!! What a rush🤯🥹
“Let’s Get Cinematic!!!” Sam like always amazing work! I defiantly like watching your videos to get inspired. Although I have a lot more work to put in it’s so much fun learning from people that have been there and the process they like to take. Milanote is awesome! I have been using it for a couple of months now to try and organize my thoughts and idea for the projects I want to work on! Keep up the good work and as always- STAY CREAMY!!!!
I have re-watched this video multiple times, It's fantastic the balance of your points with References, then to see the edit you put together at the end sent goosebumps down me, not only that I went to check out the sponsor Milanote and I just had a eureka moment like this is something I know will work really well for me, like you and most creatives a scattered mind is part of us all, Thanks for creating and sharing this video to us Sam, yet again your videos blew me away
Keeping a journal with you at all times is key for sure! It’s something I’ve integrated to my day to day with work and helps a ton with keeping track of task, projects, and reminders!
As a retirement gift to me, my wife and I are going to Iceland next year. I’m looking forward to capturing as much as possible of that trip in video and photos. I know there’s going to be a great story to tell. Thanks for an awesome video.
Just had Same trip with my wife for our 10th anniversary. I caputred as much as possible. I damaged my drone and Actioncam😅 but the a7III captured the most iconic moments
Let's get cinematic. Awesome tips. We are traveling for over 2 years now and started filmmaking a year ago. It's challenging but also very rewarding to capture and express yourself in such a artsy way. We love it. Keep it up ❤
Thats provided so much clarity dude. I’ve been stuck in the artist planned shot phase for a while and went to trips because I wanted to experience new places and cultures and of course, get that epic shot! I’ll go on the next trip with the right intention for the story. Thanks for this vid dude
I mean this video is so good! It doesn’t apply to travel films but it applies to EVERYTHING you should be doing in filmmaking… end of! Great video dude thanks for sharing 🎉
I just got goosebumps the hole time! Thank you Sam! Thank you for the inspiration, thank you for your behind the scenes, and just thank you for being yourself in your videos! Let's see, I'll remember your tips, maybe one time we are doing a video together! Have a nice one! Looking forward to your next video!
Impressive work on this video! I can see how features like MagMirror's new Smart Light Mode, which automatically adjusts brightness based on your surroundings, and an enhanced 5000mAh power bank for extended shoots, could further elevate your content. It's the ultimate tool for creators like you who always strive for perfection. Keep inspiring us with your creativity!
Your work is a result of talent and hard work and I really appreciate every single video of you. I've learnt so much from you and I could implement this in my own filmmaking. And I learnt a lot from this video too. I wonder why I stopped that whole journaling thing. Thank you for giving me the inspiration of starting again. Let's get cinematic. I am here for it!
Great video. I was just reflecting and thinking back to when we started our channel. What we wanted originally and where we wanted to go with it compared to what we're creating now. This like a light bulb for me. Inspired and really clarified what direction we want to go. Will be asking ourselves, what's our why and how we can better capture our experience and the beauty of our golf travel
Sam’s videos never fail to make me feel alive and inspired. I recently went to Iceland to explore and create my own travel film and lost all of my files from my card 😭
Amateur travel filmmaker here - I would love to see an editing breakdown in a future video of the sequence starting at 9:34 😅. You could use it to promote your swipe transitions maybe? “Let’s get cinematic”
Great tips! I recently finished my travel film I shot while I was in Japan earlier this year, and when I got to the edit I was stumped until I had to ask myself "why I'm making this?". When I sat down and figured that out it made things so much more fluid to go through, and it made finishing it so much more worth it. So seeing that point you made in this video, I can really attest to that, and I wish I did that *before* I left on my trip. I would've been a little bit more organized haha. Might have to dive into milanote because I (still am) a google doc fiend lol
Hi Sam , My Friend Dave met you in his journey in South Africa he shared his pics with us along with you .Being a solo videographer it makes very difficult to shoot yourself ..in the foot believe a team is needed with equal mindset to have that great story ...
I almost follow same principles. Really keeping a notebook has made start making video and post finally on youtube !! Also when you travel solo , its really hard to film,No friends to shoot just solo.:D But, its really a different feeling anyways. I have used same background music in my recent video.😍
LETS GET CINEMATIC, SAM. LETS F#(KING GOOOO!!! Had to get that out of the system. Damn, you inspire the hell out of me. One day..., one day. Until then. Stay creamy. ✌
You forgot Ryan Kellman hahaha, but yes a notebook is important also to reference your emotions during that shot. I created a lot of Faroe Islands films

Notebooks are soooo underrated in video creation. Get the habit of writing or sketching - it serves as a harddrive of thoughts.

Hi @BryceDocherty, MagMirror helps artists focus on their message by simplifying the filming process.
Finally found the X channel I've been looking for. Thank you
